I agree with OP. Where is the Druid class we were promised at the beginning of this year? This class should of been part of the last beta weekend, but it wasn’t included. People have a right to be impatient at this point.
Does ANYONE think a plea like this has any impact on their decision making or scheduling process?
These things are picked out days if not weeks in advance. And frankly they aren’t primarily concerned with advertising to us here on the forums. They’re picking their battles in the videogames news cycle to bring in new players.
It’s called “expressing interest”. Yes, these posts send the message to Anet to bring out the other goodies they have in store. We’re waiting for them! They have been taking too long rolling out the info on the new class specializations, and Anet has plans to release HoT this year. Worse, we know more about WoW’s new upcoming expansion, Legion, than we do about HoT. That’s the truth.
Wow this my first time hearing about that expansion. I am happy and excited now. May return to WoW now. Cant wait for HoT as well. But wow the info on their new expansion seem wonderful!
First I heard of it too… less than a year since their last expansion and this new one has a new class, new races, new dungeons, new raids, a whole new continent, new legendary weapons, revamped PvP, new guild stuff… it kinds makes HoT seem rather sad actually…

I agree. I hope this makes Anet step it up. Because i spend more in GW2 per year than i did in WoW. They should have the resources.
But wow Demon Hunters with shapeshifting,,, oh my. And that legendary weapon upgrade concept seem amazing. Also the Class Halls is something we should have been had in GW2 due to the way Living Story works, there was always potential for that. But man WoW going to have these hot spots in the world for classes. That is so cool. I want that here in GW2.

Given that they specifically said at the PAX South announcement of HoT that the Revenant would be there for new players to be on an equal footing with veterans in this one profession, no, they aren’t going to hand it out early.
You can work on the jungle with established alts while leveling your Revenant and your masteries will convey. Nothing says you can only play one alt for weeks.
Why can’t the new players level the Rev along with the vets? Is releasing it a month early going to stop that somehow? And if they don’t release it early and on expansion day, 5 minutes after char creation I’ve tome leveled it to 80, how is this putting the new players on an equal footing?
This is really what it’s about, no offense to people who tome-level, but i don’t want to be punished for not doing that. I’m guessing new players are getting punished by it aswell. They don’t have that instant 20 then tome to 80.
So this is a low key ToK diss thread..

I just wanted to make a topic because i currently have a big choice to make at the start of the expansion. One i actually really don’t want to make.
Revenant vs New Content
I remember from other mmo’s how bad it felt when i was leveling the new class and my guildies were experiencing new content and i wasn’t playing with them. When we are moving into the jungle, i want to move in with my guildies. However i also want to have a revenant and i want to level it properly. If these 2 things come out at the same time most people will probally craft it up if they want to play it and head him straight into the jungle. I would rather not do this tbh.
I want to ask if it’s possible, for everyone who pre-purchased, to just have the revenant, obviously without it’s elite spec, available just a few days or maybe a week prior to the start of HoT.I would rather not have to choose between experiencing the new content and leveling the new class, since i’m really excited for the revenant and i’d love to level it right away, but i also don’t wanna miss the experience of heading into the jungle with my guildmates either.
Plz don’t make me craftlevel this proffesion, i wanna play trough the personal story, have tybalt sell me apples and stuff. And level it normally.
Dude, just use ToK, if you like leveling so much thats what Masteries are for. Level those with your friends.
this is why i dont like character levels. Its pointless in the end. Just do mastery lines…

Radagast and Gandalf are as much druids as they are wizards by profession, and both only show rudimentary, even potion imbued healing powers most of the time.
Gandalf for example is unable to cure the poisoned Bilbo, only Elrond as a fully dedicated healer is able to do so.
Thats misleading. Wizards like all Magi are masters of magic.
Druids use a certain kind of magic while also it being a religious form of magic.
not all Wizards practice the same religion of Druidism which is why they arent Druids. They may practice similar magic, but that doesnt make them druids.

Hey Rangers, what Armor part would you like for Druid armor piece?
For me I would like a Druid themed chest part.
Was playing a game as a spirit ranger to see if it has any viability..
found out that if you have spirits on point the game acts as if your team isn’t on the point. Was me and 2 teammates on point (not in stealth). The enemy mesmer came on point decapped it and captured while my spirits were out and all 3 of us were on the point. It also happens if i destroy my spirit but the buffs prolong after…PLZ FIX FOR THE LOVE OF DWAYNA
Thats not just Ranger bug. I notice this tonight as well on my Warrior. Wasnt capturing the point while in combat, even though there was nobody other than me and a ally in the circle.
I did not play much of the story in the last Beta Weekend as I wanted to save it up to play when Heart of Thorns actually comes out. Having said that, I have seen a few videos and comments that state that there are a LOT of melee hating MoBs in the new expansion and that having a viable ranged weapon will be necessary.
So, if I decide to keep playing my Guardian without the new Elite spec will I be kitten in the new content? At first I just thought I would re-roll to another profession when the new expansion comes out but I have always enjoyed playing a Guardian. I do not really relish playing a Guardian/Ranger however.
So, if we forgo using the new Elite spec will we still be viable? Is anyone else thinking of keeping their original character but just ignoring the Elite traits/spec?

Cant seem to find people for my escort mission in the game, so figured I would try here.
Starting a Low Level escort mission for Meta Event waypoints. Send invite in the game.
Mace mainhand with Physicals.
All Elite specialization are based on Superheroe.
Revenant Herald is Silver Surfer for example.
warrior Berserker is Human Torch.
Dragon Hunter is Hawkeye.
Reaper is Spectre.
Forge is Forge.
Druid is Druid.
etc
In a coordinated raid content which i assume the new group content to be, a group of 3 Centaur Revs can hold some serious heals down for the group, while also giving the group a large damage reduction. Again coordinated.
also for tanky element, a group of Revs can tank trash mobs using UA from Demon Stance CC spam on top of main DPS group and basically hold off trash mob waves from the group.
It’s a debate between mace and rifle.
Short bow not in there somewhere? But yeah i forgot all about mace actually.

I’m probably wrong and just being bad but rangers and mesmers are full of kitten (mesmers more than rangers.)
Now I’m not trying to QQ however mesmers are reking everyone, Ive yet to see someone take down a mesmer of equal skill. Like yeah if they are morons you can drop them quite easy but if they are even semi compatent they just destroy you. I went over to the mesmer forums to see if they are saying they feel abit ez mode but they seem to be asking for a buff wtf ?

You simply need to learn to bow down. Mesmer are meta. Just step aside or tank them. No point trying to kill them on your own. Call for help. Drop your ego and bow.
Hey Anet, please for the Engineer Hammer, please dont make this slow and full of animation locks like Necromancer GS.
I dont play Engie much in SPvP, but i really would enjoy new melee playstyles. But i just hope its not ruined like Necromancer GS’s slowness.
The preview so far for Hammer elite specialization seem very slow and sluggish, which suggest it wont be well in SPvP. Just a concern.

See this is why Anet undertones the Elite Specialization in their first beta. The Warrior Elite Specialization hasnt been played yet and people already calling for nerfs. Then when it comes out and people try it, they find out its pretty weak….
Lets face the fact here. 90% of necormancers take soul reaping and you get to the grand master traits and you see

ok it seems arena net has been giving out break bars lately so why not.
AT least make this trait worth something. Remove that useless stability and make it a break bar instead that can take x amount of hits of cc’s before it pops and wont reset till you re enter ds.

note: this is just for the Longbow of the DragonHunter and not the full class as a whole.
We dont know what restrictions were placed on developers of those other elite specialization.

You literally know nothing about Mesmers or the Chronomancer elite spec by saying that.
To put things in a very simple statement for you, Robert designed Chronomancer, Reaper, and Berserker which change how each core class works and the abilities and traits were well thought out and flow with each specialization.
Mesmer was already one of the most powerful classes. Nothing they got in their Elite Specialization was replaced. They only gained.
Necromancer had stuff replaced. Go back and look at the Necromancer elite specialization beta feedback thread. Had lots of issues. Only good skills were RS and for pve. I wont even go there. You can read it for yourself.
Warrior gains a new berserker skill, but still at the core the same underpowered class that it was nerfed into. Warrior is not Mesmer. Warrior is not Ele. Warrior is Warrior.
like i said, best to wait until you play the Elite Specialization before jumping the gun with threads like this.

Blood Reckoning: This heal works on your condition damage as well and you get more healing with crits. Berserker mode will benefit the most from this skill.

Shattering Blow: You summon a rock and punch it to send rock fragments in an arc to up to 5 enemies. You cannot move while using this skill.
Sundering Leap: Good for initiation. Give you adrenaline on the leap and more adrenaline when you land if you hit enemies with this skill. Good for generating adrenaline.
Outrage: Stun break on a 10s recharge. Has no other function other than stun break.Gain adrenaline based on how surrounded you are. Stun break is self only.
Head Butt: Crowd control elite on a 20s cooldown. You are stunned while using it but you can use Outrage to break out of it. Gain full adrenaline if you hit your target with it.

You get access to these new F1 skills only in berserk mode (F2 button). Berserk mode can be only activated if you have a full bar of adrenaline. Berserk mode lasts 15s and will flip your regular F1 skills to the Primal Burst F1 skills. Cannot be deactivated once it is active so if you want your regular F1 skills back you need to wait it out. Attack speed bonus is only 10% as opposed to the 33% from the datamine.
While in Berserk mode, your adrenaline bar goes down to 1 gauge (10 adrenaline) instead of 3 gauges (30 adrenalines).
Primal Burst skills have a shorter cooldown (5s only) so you can fire off 3 Primal burst skills while in Berserk.
Flaming Fury: Sword F1 skill.
Arcing Sear: Greatsword F1 skill.
Scorched Earth: Longbow F1 skill.
Gun Flame: Rifle F1 skill. The number of targets may get toned down later. Does less damage than the Killshot regular rifle F1 skill.
Skull Grinder: Mace F1 skill.
Rupturing Smash: Hammer F1 skill. Enemies only get knocked back once.
Decapitate: Axe F1 skill. Does less damage than Eviscerate but also hit enemies behind your primary target. Works well with your Blood Reckoning heal skill.

For me i just tried axe in pvp. Was fun. Axe2 can bug out at times and not hit a enemy if they too close. Bug fix can solve that.
i want better defense from the skills. Skill 3 gets some kind of defensive element that is stronger, would be real nice.
Anybody else getting bored of open world PvE now?
I try to continue to do the meta events, but most of them are just AA fest,,, with a few good meta events, but with long cooldowns, and require team coordination and population, which some reason the game still doesnt have a good server merge feature yet, even with Megaservers.
I cant wait to play HoT again. To get new places to play in, with new meta events that will be different and harder on a low population maps in a balanced way. Also gliding was lots of fun.
But I really want something different for world PvE. Elite Specs should add to the fun element in PvE. Plan to play classes I dont normally play, using their elite specs.

Most New players, as I said before, couldnt even fight champs on their own. Most of those being yelled at were trolls trying to troll the group. Intentionally doing what they did to upset the group is a form of trolling.

I am going to say this again.
You cant balance small scale 5v5 PvP.
This is why WvW large scale fights dont suffer from class balance. They suffer from population balance.
Small Scale PvP display class imbalances much more, because you put into a 1v1 situation more often than not. Which no class is balanced around, since this is a group based game after all.
surpirsed MMO developers havnt learned this lesson from Blizzard and their view on the impact of Arena was on the game as a whole.
Before they added Arenas, the main PvP was Instanced Battlegrounds which was larger group sizes but still instanced population control unlike open world PvP.
Was far more balanced since the classes didnt need to be balanced around 1v1. When Arenas were added, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5, now Classes had to be balanced to be more equal in 1v1 situations, basically removing much of the class’ uniqueness in exchange for balance that can never be reached unless all uniqueness is removed and everybody is the same.
with the new Borderland Maps in HoT, I still standby my opinion that the WvW servers for most servers will remain dead, if not worst.
EoTM is where the true potential is. Problem is its all PvD. The Map doesnt reward defense.
Dont get me wrong, I understand the nature of its design, which is to help low levels level up in WvW, while providing endgame karma grind.
So perhaps, we get a EoTM2 to go along with EOTM1, to provide both communities their own EoTM cross server WvW concept.
in EoTM2 I would like more focus in map design to be built around large scale pvp. All PvE NPC should be more centered around PvP similar to how NPCs were in Old Alterac Valley in Vanilla WoW. Their main purpose is simply as objective based, and not as easily killed as current npc. Less NPC than EOTM1, but harder to kill.
Less capture locations, and the few capture locations made more important.
Siege weapons become more useful in open space PvP, rather than just PvD.
Also add some Environmental Weapons here for more PvP battle turn arounds.
Can somebody explain a few things for me.
1). If skill “Alpha” both Stuns and Daze the target,
what will happen when activated?
2). What is the difference between Stun and Daze?
This is why I say, the only way to play Rev in PvP is using Condition build. All else requires too much burst energy to be effective in staying alive while still being a killer threat.
