A question about Sylvari birth

in Lore

Posted by: Konig Des Todes.2086

Konig Des Todes.2086

Yeah, there is a conversation of it between a sylvari and a norn, though I don’t recall where unfortunately. I do recall its existence because it was highlighted during ‘sylvari week’ pre-release, and I had heard it once or twice in-game. Most – if not all – of those dialogues used during the racial weeks in the blog were in early areas (cities or starter zones). So check in the Grove or throughout Caledon.

2-men dungeons

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Konig Des Todes.2086

Story mode dungeons can be done two-manned easily, Arah even need a minimum of two.

Scaling dungeons could be fun, so long as the minimum is two, even if it is via mechanical limitations rather than balance, like Arah story where two pressure plates are needed to be stood on – this could be done in a variety of ways like two consoles needing synced activation but are too far to do the teleport trick on.

I found many story mode dungeons a lot more entertaining when it was two or three rather than five.

But I see a problem…

The game has scaling, why can’t it scale suitably for lower party numbers?

Scaling for player numbers seems to be a case by case basis, rather than universal like stat downscaling. I think this is so because of how different some story instances scale with different numbers, and remain in said scaling even if someone left (I used this a lot to make story instances more challenging by having a friend join then leave or afk). Similarly, events scale differently with different number of players, it seems.

So each dungeon would need a different version for each number of players, or player range, within. Allowing the creation of lowest scaling and then letting others join in as currently possible would likely result in the dungeon remaining at the low scale. I presume this is why story steps cannot bring folks while in the middle of the instances.

Please Remove Map Completion from PvP Areas

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Konig Des Todes.2086

Konig Des Todes.2086

What I would like to see happen to map completion is:

  • Separate WvW from “World Completion” (the actual title, it isn’t ‘map completion’ but world completion – which doesn’t make sense seeing how WvW isn’t part of ‘the world’), giving it its own achievement and rewards, adding the PvP hub, Heart of the Mists, and Edge of the Mists into it (I don’t recall if PoI in EotM are automatically unlocked, but if they are then they shouldn’t be with this change – furthermore, adding vistas and skill challenges to Edge of the Mists to make it more worthwhile to complete).
  • Add Dry Top and Southsun Cove to World Completion; add a series of skill challenges and vistas to Southsun Cove to make it more challenging (perhaps new Points of Interests too), with a reward being a reduced equivilant of standard map completion (as they’re smaller than normal zones) – given their level, perhaps 1 exotic, 20 Karka Shells/Geodes, and 1 Transmutation Charge (plus standard exp).
  • Make Claw Island an open zone that becomes accessible after Retribution, the PoI and areas having to be discovered as they are elsewhere (old characters who’ve discovered them would be grandfathered in). Add in a couple vistas and skill challenges and a single waypoint to expand its completion. Reward for completing this would be city-level due to minimal danger in the zone.
  • Make Labyrinthine Cliffs permanent, altered for a non-Zephyrite season, and add to World Completion – add a few PoI, vistas, and skill challenges to expand it a bit; it’d give city rewards due to immensely small size and lack of danger (better than Chantry with its one PoI for exp-only reward). Alternatively, creating some permanent events involving locals could merit a small raise in stakes, perhaps, to just crafting materials + transmutation charge + exp?

I feel that such a change would allow WvW’ers to have their own completable mapping achievement, while PvE’ers don’t become “forced” into WvW, regardless of how easy one can argue the WvW mapping is, but don’t have an easier time at World Completion than they would with simply cutting out WvW from mapping.

And hell, I’d probably add uncovering areas to map completion too, just so that people have to uncover the whole world.

Missing NPCs in Charr PS Chp 1 & 2

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Konig Des Todes.2086

During the early Personal Story chapters for charr race (chapters 1 and 2, possibly 3 haven’t checked), warband members not from the biography choice are irregular in showing up for the story steps.

  • With Ash Legion storyline, Yahuk Fellstrike and Samona Ironclaw did not show up in any following story step after their recruitment (A Spy for a Spy and Iron Grip of the Legion respectively) in both Chapter 1 and throughout Sorcerous Shaman Chapter 2 storyline.
  • With Blood Legion storyline, Elexus Shredskin does not show up for Time for a Promotion or The End of the Line.

I have not completed The End of the Line or began chapter 3 with the characters I noticed this on, nor have I played through Iron Legion storyline recently. This seems to be a recent change, perhaps a result of the Feature Batch changes. Though there were inconsistencies near release for when the additional warband members showed up, there was at least some showings rather than never seeing again as currently seems to be the case.

There is no progression blocking issue with this, but creates a story inconsistency.

pirate sylvari

in Lore

Posted by: Konig Des Todes.2086

Konig Des Todes.2086

I suppose the pirate sylvari could be classified as Soundless without the soundless vibe? The Soundless, as I recall, just want to live in peace and not have the tree’s influence in their ear/head all the time. The pirates, similarly, are playing by their own code, not goodie-two-shoes like most sylvari, but not quite so dark as the Nightmare Court. After all, they only really kill us because we’re invading their territory (or it simulates them beating us up, and the waypoint fee doubles as what they stole from our body). But we just give them death in return…

Never mind. I’m overthinking this, Sylvari just like pirating for pirating sake, and aren’t nightmarish in their memories (but the Court probably loves them all the same). Hmm, are the Court and pirates ever on the same map?

I wouldn’t classify them as Soundless. They’re tied to the Dream, enjoy communities and don’t really want peace. I would argue pirate sylvari are the closest to what Cadeyrn originally proclaimed wanting – sylvari choosing their own path, not listening to a tablet of dead men.

And I don’t think there are any pirates and Courtiers in the same map. Only time this would have happened would have been via the Toxic Alliance – which isn’t a good source – or maybe Sparkfly Fen.

Assuming that is glint baby

in Lore

Posted by: Konig Des Todes.2086

Konig Des Todes.2086

Regardless of what “that” refers to…

The short answer is: we don’t know.

The long answer is: Just prior to release there was a Twitch TV interview with Jeff and Ree, and at the end they’re asked about Glint’s baby and whether, and their response hints that Glint was not corruptible by Kralkatorrik again, but whether the same holds true for her baby we saw in GW1 is unknown – as is its current state of being.

Said interview: http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/b/327657138 (edit: seems link recently moved, will try to find video again – I hate when this happens || Edit2: and it seems like Anet deleted the video… guess this was something else that was “malleable”)

We also don’t know whether Elder Dragons can consume the magic of other Elder Dragons and their minions – all we know about ED interaction is that they tend not to interact, but when their minions do said minions kill each other like they would any other creature not corrupted to their kind (and the ED just don’t give a kitten about a few lost minions so no aggression created).

You refer to the spiraling bush in the center of the image that’s giving off light?

That’s a typical sylvari-made nightlight of sorts. They exist throughout Caledon, sylvari outposts throughout, and even in the Grove. Much like a lot of sylvari structures, this is just something that the syvlari use their plant magic (users of which called Gardeners) to grow structures, lights, fences, even armor and weapons.

Though this one is a bit odd in its placement, and how it has three different-style illuminators surrounding it… But that model is used throughout sylvari locations.

pirate sylvari

Konig Des Todes.2086

At Jetsam Isle – the one with the quaggan pirate meta – there is a named sylvari there. If you talk to her with a sylvari, you can compare her to the Nightmare Court. She is greatly offended by this, despite how she says she enjoys the plundering and the killing and the thrill of pirate life.

There are more sides to the sylvari life than mere “Ventari follower, Soundless, and Nightmare Court”. There are those who do not follow either Ventari’s teachings or the Court’s actions – in the Grove’s lowest level, near the House of Malomedies, there is a sylvari who’s having troubles with this conundrum: she doesn’t fully agree with Ventari’s teachings, but she can never accept the Court’s way of life.

Being a sylvari isn’t just a case of “either you follow Ventari’s teachings, or you’re of the Nightmare Court.” There are those who aren’t good but don’t seek to spread Nightmare or become twisted by it.

Draconic Race?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Konig Des Todes.2086

Konig Des Todes.2086

Just to throw this in there, the bone dragons of Tyria were not at all related to the Elder Dragons, and the Saltspray Dragons of Cantha were not either.

Actually, nothing says that the bone dragons and Saltspray Dragons are unrelated. We just have nothing that currently says they are related.

For all we know, the bone dragons were the reanimated corpses of old dragon champions (particularly Zhaitan’s given the presence in Orr). There’s also hints to an old dragon race that’s been more or less wiped out – which Glint may have been part of – which could be what the bone dragons were the remains of.

There were no such thing as “Elder Dragons” in GW1. When they decided to make GW2 they released an expansion that just said “Oh, well there’s Elder Dragons now, okay guys?”

When GW2 came out, they were also like “Well Glint is the champion of an Elder Dragon just because, alright?”

I really wouldn’t be surprised if they say something like “Well Kuunavang was really Bubbles’ champion! Ooh!!!”

And what would prevent ArenaNet from saying the Bone Dragons are related, like they did with Glint?

Though there’s no reason to believe Kuunavang or the Saltspray Dragons to be at all related to the DSD.

And the reason for making Glint a dragon champion is far better than “just because”. They wanted a crystal Elder Dragon and look, a crystal dragon existed already.

Asuran markings in Hexfoundry Unhinged JP

That texture used on the floor in the images are commonplace amongst many asuran lab. I think folks translated it to be “Eternal Alchemy” repeatedly, though I could easily be mistaken there.

As to the lore of Hexfoundry – what I gathered was that it was a dragon minion (primarily risen) containment lab for the Inquest. One more powerful risen broke free and by wrecking the containment of the other subjects basically caused a riot. I always figured that said powerful risen was the Champion Risen Turtle there, which was sadly removed when they gave all champions a related event.

How do PCs use Waypoints?

in Lore

Posted by: Konig Des Todes.2086

Konig Des Todes.2086

The few times we see an NPC waypoint, they do clearly walk up to the things before disappearing, so I would think that our ability to use them anywhere is just a gameplay quirk.

Aaron beat me to it.

When we see NPCs using the waypoints, they have to go to the waypoint personally. Our ability to use it anywhere appears by all indications to be mechanical. So likely, there’s some direct interaction with the devices.

Waypoints work the exact same way as the magic map does in Guild Wars 1, except you need to pay a nominal fee to the asura instead of free transportation to certain outposts.

Not quite. Map travel in Guild Wars 1 suggests you really do travel the whole way, but they don’t show it. Way points are explicitly recognized in universe as teleportation.

Actually, map travel in GW1 was explained to be instantaneous travel – though this only ever came up during the tutorials which on occasion broke the 4th wall. The presentation was that it was possible to travel to a place on a map via certain magics (or maybe a special map), but only if you’ve been there before. Again, it only ever was brought up in the tutorials on how to use map travel, and never ever showed up in plot, unlike waypoints.

So I would argue that map travel was purely mechanical.

Though there are indications that originally map travel was to have lore, in that you create portals between specific locations. In many Prophecies towns/outposts, you’d see “rose compass” floor designs, which were also at a variety of resurrection shrines (particularly Krytan ones). Said designs were akin to what could be found on the floor beneath the portal that Prince Rurik summoned that connected Drascir’s acadamy to Nolani Acadamy (same design in Drascir is found in Nolani outpost). But that’s all just stipulation. But this was never really implemented, and shouldn’t be considered canon even if this was the original intent – similar to skill gems and skill rings.

Not to mention how they mouths only just barely opens and closes when they talk. It’s a miracle that they can vocalize the “b”, “p”, and “v” sounds.

This is an issue of mechanics. Most-if-not-all non-playable races have barely noticeable jaw flapping. Tengu, dredge, hylek, grawl, quaggan, skritt. I’m sure ogre, jotun, and kodan too.

@Aaron: My dislike for the quaggan actually stems from the over-cutifying the race, and how they seem to get highlighted so much more out of any other minor race simply because they’re “cuter”.

I reckon we see Skritt the most out of any minor races. Quaggan probably rate second, probably because you never see bad ones.

I meant in story focus.

How many skritt are relevant to the various plots? Compared to quaggans?

You don’t have skritt/grawl/hylek/ogre versions of Bloomaloo and Penelopee. And most skritt/grawl/hylek/ogre in-game are very minor in presence, while the quaggan presence is much more highlighted in the various events and ambient dialogue.

I would argue that hylek have a bigger story focus than skritt do – albeit barely. But quaggan have bigger than both.

The order being false is well known for being wrong currently, and we’ve already received word that Anet are working to “fix” the plot holds and story inconsistencies – whatever that’s meant to mean, given how vague the wording was.

Altering the levels to such extend as you did is unnecessary and just downright painful to the players. Fort Trinity itself is in a level 70+ area, yet you have level 59s going there. The bordering zone that’s closest to Fort Trinity is level 60-70 – going from Sparkfly Fen (a level 55-65 zone) would still put you lower than the zone’s levels. This is also true for The Greatest Fear arc (chapter 7). Even going further back, you’re sending level 38s into level 40+ zones (Blazeridge Steppes, Dredgehaunt Cliffs, and Bloodtide Coast).

Your leveling schematic just wouldn’t work. Throughout the entire storyline from “Minor race help” (chapter 5) and onward, you’re sending players into zones that are too high for them – while before that, they’re exceedingly higher than the zones you’re sending them into.

You also just split chapter 8 into 4, which to me is too much, and at best should be split into 3 at levels 70 75 and 80. Though more preferably, 75, 80, 80.

Open Cantha but make it an underwater map. That’ll show those fanboys

Actually, serious idea here, open Cantha and have the Jade Sea be mostly underwater content.

When you look at the lore, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. All the water was turned into solid Jade, hence why it’s called the Jade Sea.

Actually, the Jade Sea was called such even before it petrified – because of its color (which in turn is why it turned to jade when it petrified, rather than say, Sapphire).

And in GW1, after Shiro’s death, there were rumors of the Jade Sea beginning to liquify from the bottom up. So either the case would be that there’d be solid jade islands in a liquid sea, or dig deep enough and you get a sea trapped beneath the solid surface.

To ruin the game, one thing must be done…

They do have a hivemind or sorts, as we can find out via Edge of Destiny and related interviews, but the minions aren’t commanded (always/solely) by the Elder Dragon – the mindless ones within the hivemind (the grunts, typical minions) are commanded by the more intellectual and powerful ones (or “bullied by” as Jeff and/or Ree once put it) such as champions.

What we see in Arah explorable is likely to be the case elsewhere: they remain fanatic to their Elder Dragon, they remain active, and champions control the lesser minions nearby still. In short, the risen in Arah act like Zhaitan never died.

We do see Kralkatorrik taking direct command of his minions in Edge of Destiny, so I think that description of “predatory animals” is not exempting them being sentient beings (we actually have no comment anywhere of them being said to not be such, and per Bobby Stein/Angel McCoy’s owns words, comments in interviews/posts are superseded by in-game/in-book evidence, which offers support to the Elder Dragons indeed being sentient and sapient).

No, such explanation was never given. All we have is really “the risen remain a threat, they did not fall when Zhaitan fell”. Which is highly open to interpretation.

Tequatl was never said to be the strongest of Zhaitan’s champions. Not prior to Tequatl Rising, at least (and even then, is not said to be such).

Dragon champions – not just the dragon shaped ones at that – do have control over their respective dragon minion armies, but this is a matter of being smarter and more powerful, rather than being “next of kin” or the like. It is why the term “dragon champion” and “dragon lieutenant” are synonymous. All dragon minions feed off of magic (and give it to their Elder Dragon, it is implied).

The last bit – that the remaining dragons/champions would, if given time, become Elder Dragon-like – is one of the theories revolving around the still unexplained powerboost that Tequatl got.

Why didn't the Pact try this against Zhaitan?

in Lore

Posted by: Konig Des Todes.2086

Konig Des Todes.2086

Dragon minions – risen included – are nothing like standard undead. The only reason why Zhaitan is called the Elder Undead Dragon is because of his preference for corrupting corpses.

But we see two cases, at least, where he corrupts the living as well. And even in instantaneous corruption cases, his minions become rotten and gray-skinned – unlike standard undead. His minions are also fanatically devout, when they aren’t mindless, much like all other dragon minions; necromancer minions are mindless regardless unless they have souls in which they have said soul’s personality – no alterations.

Trahearne was studying the risen as was the most well known scholar on them. Marjory was distant from the threat and so was Weibe – why would they be considered (especially Marjory who’d be a no body at the time)? Trahearne did give a greater understanding of the risen through his studies – this is why he was respected by all three orders, and why he was the one placed in charge of the Pact in the first place.

Necromancers cannot control the risen, for they are not “true” undead – no necromancer could hold sway, unless they’re corrupted like Necromancer Rissa was (by all indications).

Technically, Jaken, all the Pale Tree is saying she believes to be the case is that Scarlet opened herself to Mordremoth when she (Scarlet) left the Pale Tree’s protection. That is, she’s speculating on how it happened, not what happened.

Yes, we killed Zhaitan with anti-Risen magitech cannon, lasers, and elecrified grappling hooks…

After we starved him for weeks, via preventing him from spreading his corruption into new minions, removing his means of consuming the magic in artifacts, and cleansing the corruption of the land’s most powerful magic itself.

Mind you, the fight itself was rather dull even at release, and it only became ever the more mindnumbingly simple since. But storywise, we did a ton of damage to Zhaitan before we even see him. It would be like one of us going to fight an anorexic bear with a gun.

For Your Own Health: Kill These Spoilers

So I decided to make an RP character to salvage some enjoyment from the game. Her backstory requires Kessex Hills map completion, so there I’ve spent the last day in there. And funny thing: the Lion Guard have...made a treaty with the centaurs to protect their caravans and get supplies into LA quicker, and the Seraph and some residents are not pleased. I asked my soon-to-be GM, fellow lore-binger, and friend who follows the LS with a magnifying glass when that happened and he said that he hadn’t known about it — and he’d predicted Mordramoth in two months into the game. There are also...migrant caravans of people from Divinity's Reach headed for LA because they're unhappy not just with the Queen, but with the nobility and class system in general. In LA, you can be what you make of yourself, one new NPC says. And every non-Krait species in Kessex Hills, be they loyal to Seraph, Lionsguard, or Pale Tree, is angry — not because...of Mordrem roots in the ground, but because the Krait have unchallenged control of the lake, and no one’s doing anything about it.

Everything in spoilers here was there since release. If it isn’t talking about the Tower of Nightmares or the Toxic Alliance, then it was there since release in regards to Kessex Hills.

Iron Marches, Brisban Wildlands, and Dry Top are the only open world places where Mordremoth’s influence are referenced.

I recall seeing them all in the first month of release. And the “traveling to LA” one bothered me that it remains, given that, y’know, Lion’s Arch got destroyed.

So please: give us and yourselves a break. Highlight the Living Story you’ve put together that everyone wants but hasn’t noticed yet.

Eh, sadly, for the most part the changes made for the LW have been noticed by the community at large. Some people miss things – like you have with these – but they were there and noted by other people. Someone noted about a month ago the Consortium NPC at Black Haven, which has been there since last December, and thought it was a new NPC talking about taking over the Black Lion due to the attack on LA, for example.

Which is entirely vague and doesn’t say that the fear storyline will be returning, just that they’re going to fix “plot holes and story inconsistencies”

Which very well may end up just being altering the text dialogue, and removing key VO dialogues.

In short, I won’t be happy until I see something more detailed about that.

And if they don’t revert it, they better give an explanation for why they could possibly think this blatant retcon (something which ArenaNet has taken multiple repeated steps to be adamantly against) was a better outcome.

Have ANET releases dropped to one a month?

in Living World

Posted by: Konig Des Todes.2086

Konig Des Todes.2086

The update system appears to have gone from continuous biweekly to a bit less frequently as ArenaNet realized they couldn’t keep up with such a heavy routine. Though the appearance of Halloween likely alters the schedule a bit, but it seems to be 4 biweekly LW updates, 4 week break before feature batch update, 8 week break before repeat (may be shorter next time because Halloween).

As I saw pointed out elsewhere, it seems that ArenaNet has settled for “one new thing happening in the game at any given time.” This includes WvW tournament seasons and holidays as well as the LW content and feature batch.

So if you’re not into holidays or WvW for the next two months, you’re stuck with old content.

Koutalophile Collection Reward

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Konig Des Todes.2086

For those saying its a “mentors” pack – where does it way that? I haven’t seen any label like that.

If you go to Basic Collectors tab, and move your mouse over to the chest of the Koutalophile achievement, it’ll show what you’re given:

“Bag of Mentor’s Goods”
With the tooltip description of: “A collection of items to aid in the training of novice adventurers.”

The reward is not just for low level characters, it’s for alternative low level characters (given that some of the rewards require visits to level 70+ zones…).

So they have to create yet another one in order to be rewarded for completing a collection?

Because it’s downright impossible for you to create a character, use up the items, get the skill points and turn them in for Mystic Forge recipe stuff – which were made account bound this update – and then delete them.

Eyup.

Or maybe you don’t have to get this achievement. Maybe you don’t have to use the rewards – it rewards achievement points after all. And besides, with so many collection achievements, it’s not like ArenaNet is forcing you to do that achievement – let alone doing any of them!

Nevermind that Anet seems to think we’re so unintelligent that we can’t simply purchase gear for our alts ourselves.

I’m sorry, but how does “we’re giving you free stuff for an alt if you want to make one” equate to “you’re a kitten and cannot purchase gear for an alt, so since you’re so kittened we’re going to give you this gear. Congratulations, kitten.”

Because I’m not seeing the connection.

Let me put it this way: ArenaNet is putting in content that is not for everyone. ArenaNet has designed the game so that you don’t have to do everything.

If you want to do this achievement, fine, have at it. If not, fine, you can do something else – there’s plenty of things to chose from.

Because they almost did. Snaff crippled Kralkatorrik, grounding him. Ten or so seconds longer, and Rytlock could have thrust a spear made from Kralkatorrik’s spine through his ribcage – per Glint’s directions – and pierced Kralkatorrik’s heart. Rytlock was practically right next to the Elder Dragon when Snaff was killed, and Kralkatorrik flew off.

Almost the damage they did to Kralkatorrik directly, however, was mental. Though Glint may have cut him and Eir shot exploding crystalline arrows at him (the tips being made out of said blood to cover him with the stuff for Snaff to take control over Kralkatorrik’s mind and body easier, alongside with the yoke he made). For the most part of the battle, Kralkatorrik was in the air, out of reach of the rest of Destiny’s Edge, who were busy fighting the newly made Branded.

My Greatest Fear Plotline

Konig Des Todes.2086

That post actually indicates that it isn’t a bug, but that there are indeed changes to be made. What indicates such is the sentence “While some bug fixes have already been made, the team will be making other updates in the future to address:”

Her line about plot holes and inconsistencies being fixed is highly subject to interpretation, and does not guarantee a revert, but could also be a series of dialogue fixes – which even if they bring in new voice overs, will not fix all inconsistencies. They’d have to change dialogue, voice overs, NPC models, and the entire maps (moving where The Artesian Waters is located) if they want to avoid all inconsistencies and plot holes. A lot more work than merely reverting, so I hope they just revert, where there will then only be 1 inconsistency (off the top of my head at least) in the form of Laranthir of the Wilds.

There’s a lot of inconsistencies that were made with the move. Aside from the three about the Fear plot you pointed out, there’s also:

  • Pact Demolitionist Strixel, apprentice to Tonn, bringing him up; and Tonn’s ascended gear name – players won’t know about it.
  • Sovereign Eye of Zhaitan fought before we learn what an Eye of Zhaitan is, or that there’s even more than one Eye; we learn what the Eyes were before corruption before meeting our “first Eye” as well.
  • We access the Artesian Waters which is behind a risen fortification, then we take down said risen fortification.
  • There are several mentions of weakening Zhaitan, of past battles, and being on the winning end of the war in Against the Corruption to The Source of Orr.

And this one was always there:

  • Laranthir of the Wilds never recognizes us, even if we’re Vigil and thus met him during Chapter 5, or if we did Blast from the Past and met him in the previous story step (though the latter is one inconsistency actually fixed, ironically enough).

Orr Personal Story Changes

Even if they redid all of the dialogue, changed the Sovereign Eye of Zhaitan to some other model and redid that fight, fixed the showing up of NPCs you never met in The Source of Orr, fix talking with recognition then introduced to Sayeh (which happens in that order), there will still be blatant inconsistencies and plot holes.

Even if they re-add the fear arcs as well, there will still be blatant inconsistencies and plot holes.

There were only one or three with release that you had a 1-in-3 or 1-in-2 chance of hitting, and one was fixed since, but this reordering and removal basically adds a 0 to the end of it, and only divides it in half if they fix the dialogue inconsistencies.

And Kralkatorrik isn’t a crystal dragon. He is explicitly seen and stated to have flesh and scales and is known to bleed – though his blood does crystallize when it coagulates. Unless you want to say that this is crystal. There are better angles of him in GW1, which clearly show scales.

How did Destiny Edge made him bleed id they bomb him because a swords or knife is like trying to get blood from a human with very rough skin with a 1/4 of a toothpick. You can but it takes so much time that the DE did not have.

Whoever said it was Destiny’s Edge? Not I!

Glint explained that there was a battle in which Kralkatorrik was injured in the previous dragon rise, and that he bled in the now Crystal Desert. Caithe found similar crystallized dragon blood in the Dragonbrand, indicating that his wound had not (entirely) closed – or it reopened when he unburied himself.

The Future of Dragon Battles

I want something similar to the final fight against Scarlett on the Breachmaker in Lion’s Arch – mostly open world with some instanced content to finish it off/make it more personalized.

To get around the idea of a one time event, the dragon fight should be its on map – with tons of pre events and a fineal fight – with the cycle repeating similar to how Dry Top works now.

Okay, sure, but what happens in a year when no one wants to d oall those pre-events and the final fight? But you have, say, 4 people wanting to beat Mordremoth?

You’d be blocking the end of the fight to these people unless they manage to get a guild going through it.

Plot holes and story inconsistencies that may have been introduced with story realignment

A question if you will.

Does this mean they’re reworking the dialogue, which WILL NOT fix all the plot holes and inconsistencies, or does this mean that they’re reverting the changes?

I don’t think anything beyond reverting the removal of the fear arc and the switching around of chapter 8 should be done in this situation, as I can point out probably a half a dozen things that will not work even if they fact-check all dialogue, NPC spawning, NPC models, and objectives.

Where is that next S2 gate?

in Living World

Posted by: Konig Des Todes.2086

Konig Des Todes.2086

Don’t have access to the game at the moment, but I’m sure it looks familiar. Is that the bandit fort in Brisban Wildlands, or the desert gate near Ebonhawke?

The Crystal Desert is currently inaccessible (lore-wise) because the dragon Kralkatorrik is fighting against Palawa Joko’s undead in that region. Presumably the Forgotten are there too, as they’ve been strangely absent with all this zephyrite and Glint business going on.
Mordremoth has nothing to do with that area.

Nothing actually says that Kralkatorrik and Joko’s forces are fighting. The lore said that Zhaitan’s forces were skirmishing on the northern Elonian border – not Kralkatorrik’s.

I just hope we actually get a zone each update now, and not a tiny piece of a zone every 2 weeks.

Unless they’ve been working on the multiple maps since the end of Season 1, this is just physically impossible unless the maps are smaller than Southsun Cove in both size and content. And that I do not want.

I’ll settle for a full-size map, rather than a half-map like Dry Top and Southsun.
