Am I the only one to find this quite shocking ?
So, balanced done only on the basis of statistics ? Seriously ? What about the thousands of players (casuals for most of them) who just play their class even though it’s underpowered ? “Thanks to” them, there will be no buffs to the classes ?
I totally agree that this should be one element of reflexion, but it should not be entirely based on that …
I think it’s because Blink is a utility skill, and utility skills are never combo finishers.

Only 2 examples :P. I think it’s already strong enough as it is since it’s a break stun, as opposed to S 3 or phase retreat. That’s why you have no combo finisher. Or would you like to see the CD doubled ?
Definitely agree that 2 people for game balances is absolutely ridiculously low. Not that I question their skills, but it’s a very, if not crucial, issue in any game. Any change requires a lot of studies of the impacts it would create, which takes huge amount of time. Furthermore, only 2 people gives room for errors or, what we see more often here, no change or minimalistic changes for fear that something might become OP.
I would see at least 5 people on this given the complexity of the task and the different fields (“yeah, your WvW change is nice, but it would ruin the use of that in PVE” for instance).
Also, for the problem of conditions, we’ve been waiting for months but yeah, it’s a very complex matter. What most players would like to see, me included, is 25 stacks of bleeding per character, and having poison/burn stack in intensity (except the heal reduction in poison, don’t stack that, way OP).
Yet, this would require some tweaks (for instance, probably, adjusting down the burn damage).
Still, there are other domains : sPvP and WvW. That’s why we mostly ask that only for dungeons. But I think they have something else in mind and want to release a global change for all aspects, or at least PVE/WvW together.
That’s why it takes so long and will probably be inefficient when it finally comes :/
If you pay attention to what they said, it should be part of, if not this patch, the others to come. They claimed that one major aim was to promote build diversity over the 6 first months of 2013. This means necessarily a buff to condition builds in general since, at the moment, condition builds are behind pure damage builds (I’m only talking about DPS guys, I know condition builds have survivability, support, control etc … but just forget that for the moment).
Given that the February update was initially planned to be the big PvP update, that would imply a nice amount of class balance, but seems they have changed their mind.
TL;DR : Anyway, a buff to condition builds should come over this first semester, let’s hope !
Nah, I’m 100% sure it comes from the update. Was working fine before. I did not change anything, update came and now it’s broken. It still works on all other games.

Just to point out the “routine maintenance only” (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Game-Update-Notes-January-28-2013/1468295) caused the TS3 overlay to stop functionning while it was perfectly working before that, and still works perfect in other games, absolutely sure it’s due to this update.

Problem is there again, absolutely nothing is displayed now. I assume it is due to this “routine maintenance, nothing changed”. Nothing changed but overlay is broken lol.
Don’t hope too much. You’ll soon see “fixed tooltip that stated incorrect duration”
Definitely agree with the main idea of a buff. Thought it was already changed, it’s still too much situational and is a lackluster compared to other possibilities of stripping boons as others said above me.
1) Ethereal Field (while a blast finisher would rock, GS already has 2; 3 is too many)
How could this be a field ? It’s just a hit, seriously, it’s impossible :o
2) Bigger AOE
Well, I think I still would not use it.
3) More damage
Same as 2, even if it’s better.
4) Targeted splash effect
Same as 2.
Concerning the root, I think it’s OK. The root used to suck, now it’s acceptable and it’s not only logical (you don’t hit the earth with a GS while running away) but also for balance reasons.
However, the advantage given by this root is not worth it, nor is the damage.
The daze was actually very good, but must agree was probable TOO good, especially with traits.
My first choice would definitely be :
1) Add a blast fnisher. Definitely makes sense for such a skill. For balancing reasons, raise CD to 15 sec and/or remove the boon stripping..
Or, maybe
2) Change the stripping of boons with conditions. Considering the movement, it would make sense to inflict vulnerability or weakness.
Actually, I’ve done it at lv 26 as a D/D pretty easily (though I was not very unlucky regarding targetting by arrow and AOE, but still easier than I expected and can be done). What did you mean by high level ? That’s very subjective.

A very good compromise was found on other thread. It consisted of having it target “allies” (let’s call them this way) until lv 10, and starting from lv 10, when you get more experienced, it stops targetting “allies” and requires more skill to dodge/invuln etc … when you have no crystal.

Nah, don’t change the stacks of boons. You’re definitely wrong and off topic by comparing the way boons and conditions stack. Only the stack of conditions must change : get 25 bleed/player and 1 burn/player.
Currently, while bleeding is OK as long as you only have 1 person stacking it, burn is utterly useless when you have 1 person who can stack it infinitely.
And for the balance : we’re only talking about having this in dungeons, not in sPvP, tPvP, WvW (where it would be huge problem) or open PVE.

Calculating DPS is no that useless, yeah of course it depends a lot on what happens.
But the point is that, now, you can try to modify your build or choice of gear to obtain the best result in the end (on a purely theoritical PoV, ont static bosses).
You can still reflect them. Just they no longer deal damage, which is very odd.
Also, yeah, seems there are less bombs, exploding faster, with red circles at the throw then disappearing.
I agree with all those changes, not sure about the damage since I evade every time.

I’m very surprised that nobody poster about this before me.
I might be mistaken, but I’m almost sure that reflect on the bombs this boss throws was nerfed. Indeed, feedback etc … still work, for sure.
However, we no longer see the damage inflicted, neither with figures, nor on the boss’ health.
Anyone has noticed too ? I’m not sure if it was introduced on the February 28th update or earlier (at first, I thought I just could not see the numbers), but after several encounters, I’m almost sure of this.
Bombs seem to no longer damage the boss.
Stealth nerf or bug introduced ?
If it’s a nerf, I really don’t see the reason … you can still reflect to be safe (especially with feedback) but all it changes is that it makes the encounter even longer than it already was, on the 2d longest fractal ever.
Why on earth making long artificially even longer ?
So chill does not affect player’s CD nor NPC’s CDs ? It’s just a snare then …

I definitely agree with OP. Regarding the 25 CD (20 if traited), the effect is still medium.
Not a crap skill per ser, but other heals are better. Glyph offers boons (protection is nice !) AND more synergy with glyph traits, same CD, better heal.
Personally, I use Ether Renewal (playing PVE) as this heal skill is so much OP compared to the 2 other options : much better CD (15 sec), pulses so you may use it before the troubles (soft slow healing) AND removes lots of conditions at the same time.
The 3 heal skills are defintely not balanced, it’s still better than the 2 others (even traited).
I think the reaction will be a nerf to ether renewal instead of buffing the 2 others unfortunately :/
Finally someone to show the reality. I laugh so much when I see player’s reaction :
- Nothing to do —> complain
- Something to do —> complain about the grind
I think people must realise that anything that improves a kind of “evolution” or improvement could be regarded as “grind” according to one’s definition of it.
Still, you don’t have to grind to be competitive in this game.
I don’t agree. I like this change. The only thing needed now is to apply part 2 of the operation : balance/tweak some dungeons/paths/bosses (especially reducing health pool of some bosses : HotW for instance) and adding more WP.

Actually, whether it be GW2 or WoW, it seems that this is the same issue.
It does work when I’m alone in a channel : I see me, even color change when talking.
Yet, when I join a channel with people, I don’t see anything in the layout (see screen)
Still not working, it’s an absolute mess. The different modes (minimal/normal/full) don’t do their job at all … Only the messages pop ups work :o

Ok so I tested again and it’s very, very strange. It does work on some TS servers.
It also works on my guild’s server, but only in the default channel. In all other channels, it does not work for some reason. This issue is very strange.
I tried something else and it seemed to work partially with some other TS servers, maybe it can come from the particular server ? I’ll check it out when I can.
Thanks for the answer. I tried it but as I expected, it did not work. It’s the fix for the animation bugs when the overlay works.
But, for me, overlay does not work, that’s the problem.

Yes, it was definitely stealth nerfed from one day to the morrow, it was very noticeable (happened before the 28th update, a few days after a thread saying “Urban provides good loots”).
But even if we could prove that with numbers, they would still say “no no we did not change anything”
I tried to delete my configuration files to reset settings to default.
Still the same problem except that, with WoW, it’s now stuck with only my current channel (better) but displays everyone in the channel, regardless I ticked minimal, normal or full.
Still exactly the same with GW2.

Actually, it does not work 100% with WoW either.
It displays the frame with always all the channels from the server, and every user online, regardless I checked “minimal”, “normal” or “full”.
So it seems that the whole UI of that is bugged :/

I have a problem with TS3 Overlay. For some reason, it won’t display on GW2.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall again, but it still does not work.
I have the latest version of TS3.
The fact is, it does work on WoW, and partially works on GW2 : it only displays the popup messages of TS, I can see the rectangle where names are supposed to appear, but there’s nothing in it.

Crap, it was supposed to be applied for Lupicus, Alpha, maybe Jade …. It was only applied for jellyfish in fractal

But, above all, wouldn’t buy a new expansion until a lot of things are fixed and improved (especially concerning balances/classes bugs, UI and template/armet set saves).
From what I’ve seen and assumed, yeah, this is for tomorrow (or, actually the 29th for Europe). They said (actually Robert) that the dungeons revamp was coming for this patch yeah (he gave an example of change for CoF path 2) and said that he was willing to add more WP ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/So-with-zerg-reviving-getting-the-boot/first#post1279866 ), but did not have time to have this for 28th update. He also said that we will see the huge amount of work done for this patch.

You don’t have to run to the dungeon, you can just port the the WP, or just be on the right map and wait for your party to start the dungeon.

1: mobs NEVER! resets, once you got agro its there till you die or mob dies.

Well, maybe it can happen in other cases, I don’t know, but never happened to me. However, what I said happened to me, twice.

- Someone got dc, not coming back —> vote kick
Unfortunately, that guy happened to be the one who started the dungeon. For some reason (probably because the player was offline and not online) the whole party is not booted out of the dungeon.
However, other players can no longer join the current instance. Also, if one of you go out, he won’t be able to join again his party, havint the opportunity to enter a new instance as well.
So, when it happens, either wait longer for the guy to come back or if you still kick him, finish the dungeon with 4 people, it’s slower but you have currently no choice :/

I know that attacks with multiple hits don’t work on the shield … I mean, it only counts for 1 hit. For instance, if you use #1 with Ele Scepter (air or water) you are supposed to hit your target many times, which should destroy the shield, but it does not, it only removes 1 stack for a whole channeled or tripled attack, which sucks as you become insanely slow to break it.

They promised many improvements to UI. Maybe it’s part of it.
I think OP is overdoing it a bit. I play an ele in fotm and I’ve never ever been kicked or whatever. On the contrary, people often are happy to see an ele (many because they think it provides infinite healing but that’s another story :P).
The only reason why people would refuse an ele is because there’s already 1/2 in the group. Yeah, surprise, it’s better to have diversity in the group than stacking the same class (yeah, except warriors).
Yesterday, I filed a bug report on this. We’ll see if it brings an answer or if we still have to stay in ignorance of the true answer.
^. You could say the same with feedback (mesmer) with a very low uptime, even traited (actually, it would be only good to merge both CD reduction and improve duration traits).
However, you seem to forget something. Reflection is stronger as you deal damage, yeah.
Still, it does not only work, where absorb projectiles can work (Old Tom being the best example of this).

A bag addon
– Something like ArkInventory. That thing is the best ever at helping you keep your bags organized. Don’t even tell me to buy the special bags. I got some and it’s not even close to being the same.A chat addon
– Prat 3.0. The beauty in customizing your chat windows is awesome. Setting up notification rules with sounds when someone says a word or your name. Having a custom sound when someone whispered you.Unit Frame Addon
– Pitbull allowed you to move and change the appearance of your health, your targets and pets frame. You can put then where ever you want on the screen. That’s just a drop in the bucket however they did nothing that wasn’t already on the screen so they gave no advantage.

I’m absolutely against addons that help, such as the ones you say. All that has to do with combat … no, please no.
However, I’m absolutely for UI/quality of life addons, they should be allowed.
Because when you like your game, you like to personnalize it to enjoy it even more and spend so much more time.
How can you spend much time when you don’t like the UI ?
Also, regarding how slow priority quality of life features are, it would be in the interest of everyone to allow them :
1) Anet can drop them and focus on other things
2) Member develop addons community needs, it comes faster and players are happy.
Who would not want to customize UI (resize, prettier move etc …) ? Who would not want an addon to save/load builds, skills and armor sets ?
I think none can honestly say they would not want that.
