Wait, what ?
From my understanding, it means that the arrows fly faster, not a matter of CD.
Yet, I don’t understand the problem of OP, does not make sense to have arrows fall quicker if you have faster arrows, it should actually be the opposite O_o
I’ve only unlocked this yesterday but I disconnected before having the chance to test this so I can’t tell for myself. I hope it’s not the case, otherwise, it’s a bug.

Identifying potential problems and avoiding them is far more effective than letting them slip past and having to go back later to fix them. Most of the scenario the OP is talking about is informed on the current mechanics the system uses. If the developers haven’t already considered this scenario, they certainly should.

Pretty much this, that’s why this thread is here and isn’t named “omg omg give us that /complain”.
Would be interested to see how many players won’t put an infusion into their amulets until we can get them infused :P

Honestly, though I play a mesmer and it’s my main, I must admit that shatter spec must be nerfed, at least for sPvP, and other specs must be viable. I might have tried as much as possible, I coulnd’t find a build by myself without being crushed by any opponent with half a brain. Since then, I respecced shatter. Now I faceroll, now I win.
Ok, not literally, but seriously, we must have different options, different viable specs, and this must come from a little shatter nerf (not huge nerf, don’t nerf it to the ground, but bring in par with others).

So what's the deal?

So this means that it should be 100% sure that we keep all the upgrades we bought in this case, right ?
Since there would be no way to get them back, it would not make sens otherwise, unless you plan to put them again in world 2, then in world 3 and world 4, which is kinda strange …

I think in the meantime, buy amulets but don’t put any infusion in them, as it’s pretty likely we’ll be kittened on this issue, unless there’s an answer on it in between.

@rozcinana.7249 : I like the idea of 2 amulets yeah, though a bit expensive if you have alts, but quite effective if there’s no change.
@JJBigs.8456 : I don’t see where I’m complaining, but you probably have not read the whole thing … It’s asking for information and sensibilize opinion to prevent future complaining.
@Sovta.4719 : Actually, you can afford to “lose” only 5 AR on this to play high level fractals, though it hurts a bit, you can still survive at Jade so no, it’s not ok

Hello,
This question is more addressed to the staff I guess but if anybody has heard about it, you’re welcome
What I would like to know is : is it intended, when we have the ability to infuse necklace, to have any way to retrieve the infusion in it before, or even not losing it at all.
Why asking this for necklaces and not rings, earrings ?
The answer is simple : because of utility infusions. First, the necklaces are worht 30 laurels, which is a month (without taking into consideration the monthly) provided you complete daily every day.
Now the problem is : utility infusions, especially the Magic Find and More Gold on Mobs ones. Those are 20 extra laurels, 20 more days.
Now the problem is : some people already have their necklaces with an infusion on it. When infused ones are released, if nothing is changed, those people would lose the infusion and would have to farm again 20 laurels …
You might think “it’s normal, you upgrade, you do it again”. Maybe.
BUT, there are people who haven’t put infusion into necklaces or haven’t necklaces yet. These would be able to get their necklaces infused before putting an infusion into it.
Basically, this results in a totally unfair situation when some people have to farm 20 more laurels, which is even more unfair as you can’t farm laurels out of daily/monthly (meaning that there’s no way to get more thanks to the more hours you play).

I would love to see this answered, even if it’s just “yes, we know the problem and we’ll think about it” or “screw you, go farm it all again, grind more, it’s your fault”.

1) Stand your ground
Stability AND retaliation for a good CD. Very good skill especially given that it also provides them for allies.

2) Mighty Blow
I’m a bit biased since I play hammer but I love this skill : high damage, slight leap and spammable blast finisher

3) Smite conditions
Pretty low CD to remove a condition AND to deal high amount of damage. Both offensive and defensive skill.

I keep reading “don’t join #1/T1 servers and then whine for queues” but what many people are missing is people who have been on the same server from the beta and who don’t want to move, so are they wrong because they picked a server while ago, made a lot of friends and guilds there ?

Hey, the rest is not a problem, it’s only the browser + GW2.
I sometimes have skype and thunderbird open, but both are less than 100 Mo (around 80).
Nah, really, I checked before, it’s only this particular webpage which gets crazy with 1+ Go (it once went up to 1.8 Go lol).
When this webpage is closed, I have no problem.
No, really, I’m interested in a guide to disable the caching of pages, it would solve the only problem.

I understand, it’s probably that yeah. In this case, do you happen to know if I can disable this setting ? (I know there’s some on mobile version of chrome or Dolphin)
My problem is not GW2 crashing but memoery being fully used, causing my computer to be slower, that’s why I wanted to solve this problem.
Regarding my addons, don’t worry, they’re not using too much memory (they’re pretty low) and with 8 Go, it’s absolutely OK, only a 500 Mo+ GW2 forum is criplling.

Wow ! So many good ideas !
Actually, this makes me sad to see so many good ideas, while knowing less than half can be hoped for.
Just a few things :

Add a 10 second delay to waypoint use to prevent people spamming the waypoint in the middle of an assault. You said you were going to do it!

Well, I don’t really agree, especially if it resets while being put into combat. I think it’s part of the game to be able to escape an opponent’s zerg. But maybe I misunderstood your idea.

Maybe the system of loot is not good enough : if you loot a lot and get disconnected before leaving, you would get absolutely nothing, which would suck. Also, after each and every zerg, people will teleport to fetch some loot, and the work of the commander is more boring to gather people, it slows down the process of the “main zerg”

Btw guys, has anyone else noticed the change to the damage ?
From 3 different “levels” of damage, there are now 4. I’m not sure which was buffed or nerfed, I think it’s only the 600-900 which is new but I’m not sure. I had made a screenshot of it before the update but it seems like tooltip don’t appear on screenshots :/

I think those issues of structures is just a matter of how big the hitbox is. It’s probably way bigger on structures/dummies.

Best and worst classes for WvW

Hey,
I won’t tell my favourite/best class for WvW, but I’ll talk about pros/cons of the 3 classes I play. It’s not objective, it’s only my opinion, concerning what I’m looking for in WvW so take it as opinion and not as advice.

Mesmer (using GS & S/F)
Pros : Stealth, mobility , swiftness/control (focus), very fast ranged tag (#1 GS), survivability, reflect
Cons : Pretty hard to reliably tag in AOE (shatter, GS #4 … then you wait :P), condition removal (if you get spammed while running I mean, with immobilize, you’re kittened :P), no reliable stability

Elementalist (Staff or S/F)
Pros : Very high survivability (almost godlike with earth focus :P), insane condition removal (ER), great mobility, swiftness (sigil of the air), lots of control (staff) and good AOE = good tagging in zergs and good damage while defending/attacking towers, not subject to reflect in fire/air (scepter), Swirling Winds (focus)

Cons : Slow to tag (staff and scepter), “only” 900 range (scepter), lack of reliable ways to tag in zergs (scepter)

Guardian (Staff & Hammer)
Pros : lots of support, reflect, boons, great survivability (especially with AH), not bad condition removal, block ennemy moves (staff & hammer), insanely reliable tag in zergs, mobility, swiftness, stability for allies

Cons : cannot reliably tag from ranged (over 600)

That’s all I remember at the moment, but I probably forgot some points. Also these are only my thoughts, please share advice if you know “fixes” to my cons.

Hi,
So I lately wanted to reduce my memory usage caused by the browser not to have to close it every time I go to WvW. For this, I checked the memory usage of chrome and here are the results :

475 Mo, really ? . As you can see, it’s much higher than the browser itself.
How come it can require so much memory while we still haven’t a lot of options ? As comparison, Windows 7, a whole OS, requires around 700 Mo.
As you can see, there’s another custom forum which is only 100 Mo.
I don’t understand what’s wrong here :/
I want to make clear that this is not a “omg kittening bad forum”, I just want to understand.

About the auto looting:
- it could be an option activated in the menu: if you want to pick the loot yourself – pick it, if you want it to go to your inventory automaticly then just select it and voila

This would be so great, I would be so excited if it was on the 26th update, but unfortunately, I know that it won’t be, still old picking up

I think it’s a good idea. The aim of balancing is to improve build diversity. Right now, honestly, regardless how I build my mesmer, I’ll alays be subpar to others who are shatter-specced, always. I don’t claim I’m the best player and only build kills me, no.
But sometimes I get owned by player’s skill, others only because I’m not shatter spec (especially IP). I’ve played against friends/guildmates who admitted that as well “I would have lost if you were shatter-spec/if I was not shatter-spec”
Thus, lowering a bit this build and promoting under-used ones is exactly the way to go. GS is less played than staff by far … because of less viability of build/weapon.

Finally, just mind that shatter won’t be nerfed by this update, they will look at it closely after the update to see if it’s needed.

World experience acquisition

I’m almost sure that all it means is there’s a DR to prevent people exploiting mechanics by dueling to increase their XP.
You know “hey, pssst, come here, there’s no one, I kill you, you come back, you kill me etc …”.
Probably when you get killed, you’ll have some invisible buff lowering reward for killing you.

Improving damage dealt by siege weapons is very nice too, as well as reducing incoming damage from siege weapons. These 3 (with more supply) are awesome improvements.

What I also like with this survey is thatit seems that people play the game and try to think and bring arguments (mentally speaking) while they choose, contrary to what we can see in profession sections.
I mean, most answers are well-thought and not only an angry reaction or “I want everything/I want my class to be OP”.
Seeing this, I would love to see Anet sometimes use this to have a feedback, in addition to their monitoring of figures data.
Of course, it must not be too often and it must not be the only way to study, but this could help sometimes, every 3-4 months for instance.
We could have some things like “we intend to revamp all dungeons like we did to AC : did you like new AC ? why ? if yes, do you want same changes ?” …

- Culling is more boring since it’s always and often get your whole raid killed
- Skill lag is less often, so less often annoying, but it’s even more frustrating …

Wow, this is such great news to buff GS1 ! Amazing for PVE/WvW !! And might be more useful for sPvP/tPvP
I’m more skeptical about the change to Confusing Images …. Of course, I find this a welcomed buff. Still, I fear that this might be OP (especially in WvW actually) while #1 is still garbage and #2 still “ok”. I’d prefer to see more minor buffs to all skills of scepter rather than “destroy anything with #3 ! And when it’s on CD, just /dance”
But wait and see, maybe it’s not the only change, let’s hope

Expect : The “AOE nerf” that many people dread, since it causes problems especially in WvW :P and New Currency for ascended stuff that takes over 1 month to get.
Hope : End of Culling, No more need to pick up loot, it comes automatically in your bags and end of skill lag

Here’s a c/c of what I posted in the sticky thread, since this one focuses only on AC :

Alright, time to post here. I will only talk about revamped AC, since it’s the major news. I waited to do it many times, over and over, to post a complete and thought feedback, not an emotional one.
Here we go :

- Globally, I think it’s a great success. It’s a turning point to what dungeons should have always been : very fast and easy for good and coordinated players, very fast wipes for bad players. Off went tedious fights with so many HP !

- Spiders : I like the change, now they are more dangerous, but still not so much, they fit perfectly, if you ignore them, you’ll die, but if you kill them, it’s easy.

- Graveling Hatchlings : Hmmm it’s kinda 50/50. I like the idea of making them more dangerous and a bit tougher but I think it’s a bit too much. Let’s say they had 2 ouf of 10 in HP./toughness (survivability) before and they had 2 out of 10 in damage (just imagine, just a matter of comparison).
Now, they sit around 8/10 for both survivability (especially) and damage.
I think either of those two stats should be lowered a bit between its initial and current value.
The best, imo, would be to lower their survivability around 4-6 to be perfectly balanced.

- Adds knocking down : Well, it’s kinda puzzling/disappointing to lose control of your character, especially in the final corridor to p1 boss, but I like this change, makes it more interesting in the process of destroying burrows.

-Spider Queen : Love it. Definitely. Can be killed so quickly, but can kill you very quickly if you’re foolish enough to stay in the cone AOE, or fall asleep in the poison AOE. Perfect boss now as it is.

- Kholer : I like the changes of having to fight with adds at the same time. I especially like the changes to his survivability as well. It’s just a shame that now, even more players skip him but meh, Anet isn’t responsible for players’ being idiots.

- Troll : I love the change to the jump attack, it’s very nice. Yet, I feel that spamming daze bolts AND fear are too much. Now he’s not that dangerous, he’s just annoying. I would say either remove fear (not best idea) or reduce rate at which he spams daze bolts. Or, last idea, have them be easier to nullify like making them reflectable. It’s the only problem.

- Boss path 1 : very nice and interesting. As for the Queen Spider, perfect boss, very funny (“hey come at me bro, ha ha you died in fire AOE noob !”). Keep as it is.

- Boss path 2 : I won’t talk too much about him since I don’t know exactly how he’s supposed to be. There seems to be many bugs around him so wait for that. Still, I like the ghostbuster like fight. Interesting

- Boss path 3 : I like it globally speaking. The rocks falling are very funny now. There needs to be some improvements to NPC’s behaviour but I know it will be fixed so wait and see. Also I don’t know if we’re supposed to be able to interrupt the scream while he has defiant stacks because if you can’t and NPC is dead, it’s impossible to keep interrupting him since he spams like hell (if he is interrupted). For the moment, lots of players just use “safe spots” but these are obviously not intended and need a fix. I’d like to have either a reliable Grast or an interuptable scream even with defiant stacks.
Also, I think his melee might use a slight nerf : bleeding and vulnerability and damage is quite a lot. He’s pretty melee-hostile now. Maybe have him be less agressive at melee and have another way to attack ranged players as well.

That’s it !
TL;DR: Very good changes ! Keep on the good work ! I would just see minor tweaks for a few (graveling hatchlings, boss path 3 and troll) but this is getting very interesting. I hope other dungeons will be revamped in the same quality

Mesmer Traits: Polish and Overhaul?

Nice to have thought about some changes. It’s also nice to see that those are thought of, and not “please buff me so that I’m OP”.
I find a lot of good ideas, but some points I’d like to make :

Blurred Inscriptions
Activating a Signet grants you 2 seconds of Distortion.

Hmmm. I think that would be too much. I’d rather see a buff to signets themselves, whether on their effect or CD. Plus it could be OP while playing with MH S and 3 signets (woot perma invuln), at least quite frustrating for the opponent and Anet does not want this. I know if the mesmer does this, then he’s completely kittened, but I don’t agree with you on this.

Bountiful Transmutation
NEW Gransmaster. Whenever you cleanse conditions, they are converted into boons instead.

Now that would be great ! There would finally be a reason to get 30 points in chaos (absolutely no reason atm since grandmaster traits are garbage). I don’t know if this could be OP with Nullfield though. But very interesting !

Temporal Enchanter
Glamour skills last 50% longer.

Actually, I’d rather see something like guardian has : merge 2 traits with CD 20% and duration improved. Would be a master trait.

Flash Revelation
NEW Grandmaster. Shatter skills instantly hit their targets.

Not sure of this … I would definitely agree for diversion for instance, but the other 2 … I don’t think so, the burst potential could be too important I think and we would suffer massive nerfs elsewhere.

Bugged Prestige to nerfed Prestige.

The 4 sec CD was already fixed.
Yet, I don’t complain with this “nerf”. Makes sense that stealth does not combo blast, and that fire at the end does. Makes more sense than before actually.
I prefer that they do that and give some love to utterly useless Image than buffing even more prestige and leaving Image as it is.

I think Rangers definitely need a lot of love. I don’t play one so I’m not biased myself but I had hesitated for a new alt between engineer and ranger. Thus, I looked for some information, and waited the class balance of February.
Rangers received poor buffs, compared to engineer. Furthermore, I saw that the most ridiculous thing is that rangers cannot properly manage their pets : seriously, they cannot get rid of it during a fight O_o
Knowing that this will probably never change, I immediately refrained from creating one. I’ve also talked with moderate rangers IG. Most of them think that the DPS is OK or even good, but it lacks pet control and a bit diversity (just like all professions for this).
I can only sympathise for these poor rangers :/
Personally, I don’t care about bringing some in my group, but 1-2 max. I want diversity and above all, lots of rangers just sit and spam 1 with shortbow or long bow, not controlling pet how they should (ok rush, die, rez, rush, die … never call back) so more L2 kitten ue.

Yeah I noticed that too. Grast will no longer rez after a wipe, he will stay on the floor. Even when he’s alive, he’ll sometimes go back and attack adds behind if you made the mistake of skipping them, so he’ll die while you fight the boss.
Furthermore, he has some difficulties to cast his bubble and he gets interrupted by a rock before the cast, and dies very quick.
Finally, the fix to interrupt the scream does not work.

What’s funny is I saw him casting the bubble, then Grast took a rock on his head, KD, no bubble for us … yeah !

It’s Hodgins. I’m not sure it deals damage but it gets you burned, so you’ll die slowly anyway. Just stay beside or behind them, so that stupid adds will jump into :P

Yeah it’s true but I think their team is really too small. Just take a look at the forum updates, there have been few.
When you look at it … 6 months and still completely bugged search, suscribe not working, impossible to “mark all read”, RSS not working, the “wrong link” when there’s a ‘;’ ….
The only “big” update was to fix broken links on the forum, going to blank pages.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blaming them, I just think that their team is too small to take care of such things at the moment. Those features are basics of premade forums (like phpbb) so I don’t think it’s a matter of complexity, unless I’m missing something.

More seriously, yeah this is a critical issue that needs to be hotfixed and should not wait for March update, same goes for other bugs (Zerker, Spear #1..)

Lol, seriously ?
Definitely a L2P issue. I play a full zerk mesmer, the first time I’ve played against the Queen Spider, I meleed her, not knowing what she would do and … guess what ? I did not get downed a single time, because I used my eyes, and the dodge key, amazing, isn’t it ?
As said above, terrible troll.

They are recruiting devs for site/forum, which means they have no team for this or very small team. As a consequence, won’t happen before many months.

When they say 26/02, they mean in their time location, in NA. In Europe, always assume the patch comes not the announced day, but the day after.
I think there was only one exception, that is 28 Junuary patch. Everything else followed this “rule”.
Consider the good point : you wake up and have a lot to read about what’s new !
Drawback is you have a bad night because you’re afraid of nerfs ha ha. (/joke)

Are you sure of that ? In this case, the bug is in the tooltip, which does not say anything about it …

I would agree with you, except that it was introduced by a “maintenance routine” supposed not to change anything … So either it introduced a bug in the UI, or it stealth added something of the upcoming patch that has to do with the UI.

Has anyone found a trick to have it working in the meanwhile ? Or are we doomed to wait for a fix from either Anet or the overlay ?
