Just a detail even if I think it’s the same for all : I’m talkin about the uncommon rarity, but I guess all equipment boxes have the same system.
If that is the problem, just make them inefficient on NPCs. Players don’t want to rez NPCs so no problem.

I chose to “buy” a fractal equipment box a few weeks ago, and I was surprised by the behaviour.
While the tooltip only says X quality items will go to this bag if possible, all items in it are not affected by the options of bag “compact” and “deposit collectibles”.
Is this working as intended or is it bugged ?
For bags such as invisible bags, it is displayed in the tooltip but, here, nothing says so, which means either it’s not working as intended or the tooltip is missing information.

Search engine has not broken. It has always been utterly bad and inefficient. You don’t even have option to search in posts or in the names of topics, search threads started by X user ….

Basically, the idea is good. However, here is what happened and will continue to happen :
1) Mesmer kept being nerfed due to having portal.
2) Other classes now have portal : mesmers still won’t be buffed, they will keep getting nerfed, but for some other reason (for instance, atm : Time Warp)
3) Other classes that recently aquired portal won’t be nerfed because it wont’ be unique anymore.
Not fair at all.
If it does not happen this way, it’s cool. I’d see it on engineers (to try and encourage players to chose this under used classe, which is a great one) or necro.
It would be absolutely kitten to give it to thieves or warriors though.

So, basically, because people should not be kiting while players are coming back, now people should kite while someone is rezzing ?
Does not make sense to me, it’s the same issue, but harder and less fun (People lie as a carpet on the floor …)
It COULD be a good idea IF dungeons were totally revamped in a good way, but seeing how they are currently designed, I highly doubt it would be OK.
Actually, what they would need to do is completely redesign dungeons, as if they had never existed, except for the places, types of enemies and names of bosses.
Also, other suggestion to encourage support gameplay without removing the fun :
On kill or as there are less players fighting the boss, boss gains buffs of power/fury or speed buff + attack speed buff (just like the abomination in COE when it hits).
It still punishes players for dying as it makes it more dangerous for those who are still alive. It makes it harder to stay alive and kite (especially with speed movement and attack speed). It thus fulfill the role : punish zerg rush, while not removing the fun.
If such an update cannot be avoided, there should be some major changes :
1) NERF HP : seriously, encounters with a lot of HP just isn’t fun. If fights are meant to be harder, have them faster. If you don’t die and understand the mechanics, if you don’t die after 2 min, you’re not likely to die after 15 min (except lags/dc etc … of course).
2) Along with #1 : add new mechanics on bosses. It seems to be planned with new ability with different phases with life going down.
3) Buff the rezzing speed : because it’s already very dangerous to rez teammates, if you have to, just have it faster so it’s possible.
So, basically, because AOE should not be used on single target, AOE will be nerfed ?
How about making single target skills more reliable instead ?
Once again, PVE players will be hit hard because of PVP, good bye to eles and engineers in dungeons.
The other crap point is, if they nerf AOE, some balancing will be necessary again, and I bet there will be even more nerfs to mesmer (even if they can still be OS, people will complain, Anet will listen again and nerf).
Once again, this comes from a good idea, but application seems to be poorly designed. It would be cool to have more details about this. it might be a good idea if other changes are done, but the way it is said, it sucks.
While good ideas caused this idea, I really don’t like the feel of it :
1) Makes dungeons even longer than they used to be, as you’re wasting even more time as soon as someone dies.
2) Consequence of #1 : omg waste of time, let’s skip moar, and only take lv 80 full exotics with only those builds. Moar elitism.
Basically, it makes the skipping “issue” and the elitism even worse, which is clearly bad.
3) During some fights, it’s absolutely impossible to rez allies, while there’s always a way to do it in fotm (even if it’s difficult). I mean, just take a look at the Nightmare Vines in TA : if people die, you can’t try to rez them or you’ll die very fast too. As you don’t rez them, you lose DPS and cannot stay alive very long, so you wipe while you should not have.
I’m also thinking about Lupicus : just how exactly are you supposed to rez while in fight ?
I know it’s possible but it’s insanely hard for little interest.
4) So, the game is supposed to be fun. Now tell me, how is lying dead, not being able to do anything and watching your team slowly dying fun ? Manifesto meant for players to actually PLAY the game and have death not too tragic an event.
With this, death will be a major threat and it removes fun of people learning mechanics.
5) Dungeons aren’t like fotm. Fotm was meant to be more competitive, and is causing elitism on higher levels. We don’t need that in classic dungeons, especially when we look at the difference in what you earn …
6) Removes GW2 its unique status, not inspired by other MMOs. Now it would just be like WoW when you play, you die, you wait very long before playing again …
For all these reasons, I really think it’s a bad idea. I think it COULD be a good idea, but it should not apply to everything.
I mean, for instance, it’s very good for the event of CoF path 2, definitely. But seriously, it cannot be that good for others (Lupicus, Alpha, Nightmare Vines ….)
It should not be a general system, but it should be looked specifically, encounter by encounter.
Rings would be worthless since so many people have banks filled with them.
It would be cheaper to buy ascended than to buy exotic. Hell it’d probably be cheaper to buy ascended than to buy rare.
^This. Would be useless to have the possibility to sell them. I’d rather have them salvageable to get vials/orbs/shards and/or ectos.
Use ranged illusions like staff clones. Try to avoid using GS clones or Berserker for instance, unless you know what you’re doing (cf above post)
That’s not the only one. Did not anyone notice the nerf on drops in Urban Fractal ? It’s clearly there … The actual question is : why stealth updating things ? Why not just be honest ? It’s even more frustrating for players who can receive it as "we’ll steath fix/nerf that, let’s hope players don’t notice ! "
Given there’s been no (proper) update since mid December, I do hope this update will ba absolutely huge in improvements of existing content.
Still, I shouldn’t have that much faith. The only thing I don’t care about seeing “postponed” is the LFG tool since gw2lfg is nice, even if I agree there should be some (planned for June at worst :P).
Given they seem to release “big” patches on weekends, I also expect it to be at the end of next week.

I like that idea since it provides a “raise in difficulty” with scale (juste like bump on harpies in uncategorised fractal) that would satisfy both parts I think.
Beginners would have time to slowly adapt and then get more experience and don’t have to face this anymore : smooth progression.
As a mesmer I got the same problem. However, it is crap they won’t fix it (cf the thread about grubs on Lupicus) just because some players are too bad to dodge the attacks and want to keep that for tactical reasons (lol).
Are you saying that you keep on 16-18 stacks of bleeding by yourself with that ?
You should tell me then, with that exact same configuration, I only keep up between 6 and 10 bleeding stacks at the same time (and burn ~70% uptime, 2-3 stacks vulnerability).
Or maybe you were talking about the addition of the 3 conditions ?
With a really good group, you can make up for this … but if you have a good group, people don’t just kill the 2 chanters at both sides. So if you fail at keeping one alive, nah, you won’t recover, you’ll fail. If you see that, just abandon your run.
Worst thing ever, pugs won’t listen, causing a wipe, and then bug happens : adds won’t reset. You can’t try it again, you’re doomed to fail and quit your fractal run.
What I hate with this fractal is the bug at arms seals : when the group wipes, the adds don’t reset. Even if you abandon the fractal and start a new one, if you get colossus again in the rotation, there are still many many adds (if you killed the 2).
Given that most pugs aren’t clever enough to understand you must keep 1 alive at one side (at 20+), this bug causes a pug to fall apart if colossus is selected.
They are not rare. They are insanely infinitesimal chance of looting.
I’ve run AC soooo many times, to give you an idea, I could make 4 full armors and 5-6 weapons and still haven’t seen this drop …. and not only for me, but I mean in the WHOLE party.

Is that based on an actual citation? The only issues with Fractals that I’ve read ANet staffers address are the disconnection issue and the planned change to the Fractal difficulty level system.
They did not say it precisely, but they did say they would rework the whole system of fractals (to fix dc and allow highest level) so I think there are chances this will be fixed as well.
As for the guesting feature, it’s still in project I think. I don’t really care of it since we can join from any Eu or NA server for a dungeon (except for fractals atm).
It won’t come before they put an end to the free transfer of server.
I think you should not be in a hurry to get this as it would probably put an end to the possibility to party together in a dungeon from different servers.
Edit : after another try, that safe spot is still there yeah. Still, you should take it out as it will be fixed, probably with January update.

Seeing how slow some updates are, and considering how low priority this would be for them … I honestly think either we have no chance of ever seeing that or :
1) in over 6 months/1 year
2) In a lot of time, but in an extension of game you would have to purchase

Just a note, for Svanir Shaman (Ice Fractal) :
There is a safe spot on the wall where the agony circles won’t hit you. Stand there when the shaman port up to do his agony circles.
You can delete that, it was stealth fixed, there is no more safe spot.

I also think the system is flawed : seriously, 2 is just too short to agree on a kick.
Moreover, the problem with pugs is the system of kick only suggests to support the kick.
What about an option like “nah, this member is fine” ?
Usually, in pugs, when someone votes, other pugs support the kick , assuming there is some good reason, not even knowing why but meh, there is a button, they click.
The idea of this option would be, if there are 3 “no don’t kick”, the member who wanted to kick can no longer votekick that member for X before a changemap or X minutes or something … preventing abuse.
And if there are 3 players for kicking, player gets kicked (as 3 is majority of a group). I think maybe 4 is too much as it would make impossible to kick someone dumb if there’s a friend of his with him who will always troll the group by defending his friend.
Keep in mind that there are still a lot of situations where kicking is required and very useful
I think it will be fixed in the January update. Not so annoying most of the time but at some moments yeah it’s quite boring if there are few players online.
Easy, unless the tentacles already knocked you down. Then it’s impossible.
Here we are. Thus, it’s a L2P issue. You should not be knocked down by tentacle, if you do, you must improve your gameplay. Watch the tentacles, always the same pattern : a knock down attack, then a single hit, a KD …. always the same. 2 solutions :
1) stay out of range, no problem
2) bring stability/break stun, if you don’t that’s only your fault
3) dodge the KD attack and not the single hit one
edit : 4) as said under, blind the tentacles before the KD attack.
Plenty of solutions not based on RNG but based on L2P for you. No way you cannot do any of all this.

Quite recently I used my minions in the Jade Maw fight to give us the best chance of avoiding a wipe. Two of our group had either disconnected or quit on earlier fractals so we didn’t have the DPS to take down the tentacles as quickly to ensure a steady supply of crystals. Since at that portion of the fight, the laser comes much more frequently, I summoned up as many minions as I could while trying to rez allies after they were downed (typically due to a tentacle knocking them down right before laser).
Yeah, definitely do not remove this option. I can see it being fixed so it does not target downed ranger pets (as rangers have no choice but to have them), but do not remove the ability for it to target other things.
I cannot understand this, what’s the point in playing time like that ?
First, it’s random, does not assure you to give time and second, you have other ways to save time :
1) just dodge the attack (pretty easy when you learned the timing, always possible unless you are very bad)
2) use invulnerable CD (easiest, but not always up)
3) just pick up a crystal if there’s any, get hit, but do not throw it : you can absorb as many attacks as you want.
Provided those 3 reasons, I fail to see why it should still target pets/minions/clones …
Don’t forget that those bugs are crippling for rangers, necros and mesmers, who cannot play properly …

As a mesmer, I would like to see both got ridden of, especially for Jade. I’m quite bored of being blamed “omg Kratos don’t use clones noob it’s getting longer” “omg don’t spawn clones, boss will chase them”.
I have even already been threatened to be kicked at Jade because I was using clones …
But seriously, clones are at the heart of mesmer’s mechanics. Is it intended that we cannot do anything but spam 1 on such encounters ?
Subject Alpha : targetting pets/clones/minions etc …with AOE (which makes a bit more “difficult” but not so much) and also targets them with crystal (which makes it easier, don’t know if intended or not)

Sure, I mean this one yeah. Just look at gw2lfg. While there are 1-2 LFGs for this at most, there are over 12 for AC or TA … With gw2lfg, it’s still possible to find groups, without it, be prepared to wait for hours … By the way, so few people go there that, everytime the event triggers to defend the doors, it is failed, you have to wait a while before going to dungeon, thus your group disbands. Nice …

Guess it’s too long or too “difficult” for noobs and, above all, rewards are not worth the effort I assume (oh cool, 1s for killing annoying alpha, I earned 5s on trash in AC with half as much time and effort spent)
Well I see your point. However, if it’s not possible, the system will still be seriously flawed.
Just think about it. Fractal 2d map, player X disconnects. Meanwhile, group beats the boss. Now, 2 choices :
1) they all chose yes and they go to next map, player X is kittened, group is kittened
2) they choose to wait for player X and wait before chosing. Player X comes back, they tick yes, but as player X was not here when boss died, he was not asked anything : big bug happens, either group goes with only 4 on next map and player X is kicked or whole party is kicked.
Seriously, that cannot be and it’s very important that they tackle this.

I would only agree with that if on your DPS meter, you can only se YOUR DPS and not that of the others. Otherwise, even though you can’t link it, kitten people will say “omg you’re not DPSing I can see it” when you’re support or what … And it sucks.
Consequently, I would quite agree with your idea as it’s about what you suggest.
Still, I’m afraid of how kitten players are and I’m afraid they will ask for players to produce a screenshot of their DPS in the instance, with this group.
So … I dunno what to say, as I would still like to see my DPS so as to improve my build/gameplay …
Good question, I admit I also wonder and hope they will do so. I think they had said they would make ascended gear available elsewhere than in fotm. Maybe we’ll find other stats in this “elsewhere”

Just a thread to thank for the event. I actually like it much and find it funny and interesting, while I had not a lot of fun for Halloween.
I like the diversity of what’s offered : some sorte of Guitar Hero-like, sPvP with snowball very funny with different specs, a funny jumping puzzle and Toypocalypse was a great idea to combine Christmas and end of the world together.

Also noticed this bug of reload time. I guess it’s the tooltip which is wrong, as everything else was fixed. I think the real CD is 15 sec yeah.
Also, underwater, your helmet is not considered, it is your aquatic one which is taken into consideration so you should rune it too to get the effect.
Actually, I’m more worried about the #1 : did they think about going back again, regardless the map, even if it changed since the disconnection. Also if someone else can join : sometimes, people just leave without a word, or you have to kick leechers.
As for the #2, it was more about curiosity. As you say, I often make sure I’m the leader not to have this problem.
You don’t even have to craft your gear … Just have some money and buy it on TP.

I laughed so much at people saying “don’t dictate your gamestyle”. LOL. And what are you doing, refusing to kill the trash in a group that states they would ? You IMPOSE your gamestyle to a majority of players.
I don’t care, when I join a pug of 3-4 people, their will to skip trash, I’m pug, I follow the group.
However, what I do care is pugs, when you are 2-3-4 guildies join and try to IMPOSE skipping trash and if you don’t, usually, they don’t first leave, they want to kick you … LOL ?!
THAT is the problem in skipping … people willing to impose their skipping policy on everyone even if they are in minority.
When I talked about “fixing” it, I did not mean ban skipping people or something. I only meant, as it was said above, giving more value to loots frop trash. I mean, when we see only hunk or white items, or even nothing from trash, I understand that nobody wants to kill them … they should at least loot blue or green …
Other “fix” possible, in the revamp, is having more events/trash that must be cleared to progress.
Still, I find this 2nd option not very good as it imposes rules. I prefer having ways to encourage people not to skip.
I guess so … I hope those questions have been thought of, otherwise, many players will be kitten off by a long wait for a flawed system … :/

Definitely agree here.
Now, each and every time I pug, people just go “noob go skip trash they don’t loot”.
Given that we’re not always full guild, we have to bring some pugs to run dungeons.
This overskipping of absolutely everything possible to skip just spoils my fun in dungeons.
Some will say “just kill the trash and don’t care about them”.
There are several problems to this :
1) If you aren’t 4 or at least 3 to want to kill mobs, you can’t kill them and you die
2) pugs insult “omg omg noob noob go skip trash omg” and ragequit
3) pugs insult that you’re wasting their time and votekick you (wonderful …) and it ends up YOU being kittened.
I hope they’ll do something about it, and something FAST. But I know for sure they won’t, or at least it will be very slow and skipping will rule for a while …
Once the January update fixes the bugs it won’t be such a roll of the dice for regular groups.
That’s the point. Fixes take long to come and quite often :
1) They don’t come, you have to wait more weeks/months
2) They come, but they fail or cause other bugs which still lead to broken dungeons
The problem comes from this. If fixes were much faster to come, people could not even have a chance to “sell” that.
Actually, I fail to see why it should be bannable. It was well spread in GW1 with “run Lornar Pass” or “run desert missions” etc …
If someone is good enough to be good enough to do solo content, they should not be punished.
However, if you kick people for that, yeah it’s highly bannable and well deserved.
