Hello,
Cool post if opinions are truly taken into account
I will only cover areas I’m in touch with.

1) Squad changes : very good changes, very useful and handy
2) Gliding in Tyria : awesome as expected
3) Fractal changes : thx for the bug fix world full and QoL change to change the difficulty in the lobby, appreciated

4) Balance (the biggest part)

- Ele : I feel those changes are fine, I really like the change to diamond skin, it was just shaved a bit to still be useful but no too strong

- Engineer : very little changes so it won’t affect much but CD on stealth gyro is appreciated, 20 sec was way too low, especially with other defensive CDs, lots of dodges, and that the gyro is pretty tough.

- Guardian : good changes, not too big nerf since it was not even meta, it’s still usable and the biggest gripe (test of faith unblockable daze) is gone.
Buff to anti condis is good since we’re likely gonna have a heavy condi meta

- Mesmer : I like the change to feedback.
However, I think mesmer was nerfed way too much. WoP had already been nerfed and with the removal of many bunker amulets/runes/sigils (nerf energy sigil), I think it was already good enough to move bunker mesmer out of being too strong but meh, why not.
However, the change to alacrity is way too much in addition to all that had been nerfed already. The biggest gripe being that as a lot of ppl said, chrono trait line heavily relies on alacrity and so if it’s nerfed like that without any buff in traits to compensate, chrono will probably be kicked out of meta.
Also, it could have been split PvE/PvP.
Other idea would be to add a “personal effect on alacrity improved to 66%”

- Necromancer : well, Necro was already very strong in the meta, with only buffs and more boons removal, I expect necro to be a must have.

- Ranger : I like the buffs very much, opening for more diversity in viable builds. I hope the changes will be enough since druids got both insane CC uptime and big damage from pet or condis.

- Revenant : A very good change to Facet of Light since it was OP the way it was, good move. Not nerfed too much, perfect. Good for Coalescence of Ruin too.
Precision strike now also viable in monotarget is good too.
Unrelenting Assault got nerfed hard but it was deserved since the move was so powerful, I like how it was changed.
However, I don’t really understand the need to nerf Sword AA since it was not OP : who could kill players only spamming AA without defensive CDs or CCs ? The problem was Sword #3 followed by AA pressure.
Now that Sword #3 is nerfef, I dont think Sword AA needed that nerf, unnecessary to me.

Thief : I don’t play it a lot but just seeing the numbers in the buff scare me. While buffs had always been like 5-12% buff max, Thief gets 30-50% buffs which is frightening, especially after nerfing Rev AA to buff Thief AA even more.
Good idea for venom basilisk but it will now just outshine all other elites, killing diversity

Warrior : very good changes overall, let’s wait to see how it goes. I especially like the changes to berserker.

Amulets : very good changes but I fear Mercenary and Paladin’s Amulet will make all others amulet look pale and dull …

Wow, that’s 2 crazy bugs that totally cripple a chronomancer and cause a huge drop in raid DPS. I hope they fix the TWO bugs very fast.

Hello,
So, yesterday, my party had to fight a 3rd new instability while fighting the jellyfish boss.
This boss, when it “eats” you (applying agony) removes everything from you (skills, boons …) but now, really EVERYTHING
Yeah, it also somehow also eats your armor/weapons/jewels (ALL stats gained by armor, weapons and jewels are nullified, so you only get your basic stats and 0 AR)
Thus, it not only 100% OS (One Shot) with full agony (because you now have 0 AR right ?) but also makes it even more painful because you suddenly have low toughness/vitality/power ….

Add to this the fact that the lower the health, the more frequent this attack becomes and you have a nightmare

Hello, thanks for communication about this.
There’s pros and cons about this.

Pros : soft CC having even more usefulness towards break bar and interesting applying of a degen to it

Cons : Unability to slow the movements of the ennemy (cripple/chill) which is an interesting mechanic and even worse, it makes the slow condition totally useless (and thus, a chronomancer will feel very cheated by this, what’s the point of creating a specialization based on slow if you can’t apply the slow to any boss ???)

Also, something to keep in mind.
Currently, break bars are easy to take down on bosses because there are tons of people who are around and do the events/fight.
After a few months of release, there will be way less people in the area and if the break bar is made harder to take down, it will be almost impossible for a few people to complete the events so it makes the area less attractive, which leads to fewer people etc …

You forgot something very important even though it’s very interesting : Anet doesn’t care anymore about dungeons. They’ve just abandonned dungeons and fractals and will let them be as they are currently.
On this aspect, GW2 will permanently be a game in beta.

The only thing I have an ACTUAL problem with and am truly salty about is the uninteruptable heal, and I feel that way about engies.

Engi heal can be interrupted, it has a 0.5s cast. Of course it’s definitely not easy and almost impossible to interrupt it by reaction. Still, with some experience, you can pretty easily anticipate when your opponent will try to heal to land a CC and interrupt him.
The thief heal however you can do absolutely nothing about it yeah.

Well I don’t have enough time to think about how to share the thing and the problem of stats only or weapon/armor specific.
However, something very important : we should have separate entities.
Indeed, 1 panel for pure template (traits only I mean), either 1 panel for armors/runes/sigils/weapons/amulets all in one, or 1 panel for weapons/sigils and 1 panel for armors/runes/amulets.
And, of course, 1 big panel which contains everything.
The basic idea is to give players the choice between micro management (switch a few weapons or a few armor pieces or a few traits) and macro management (switching everything, like to go from WvW to PvE for instance, needing to switch weapons AND armor pieces AND amulets AND traits … ) with the same tool.
Ideal would be for weapons/armor to be able to save quick slots and add icons to quick swap onto the UI a la Outfitter (WoW addon) see this screen : http://media-curse.cursecdn.com/attachments/2/797/a451e83d2dc60254c6f4096b439ba117.png
For traits, I don’t really care.
But please, do separate all this and make real use of the UI to give us real efficient tools that are both convenient and fast

S/D Thief is so nerfed they said

Well, interesting, some good discussion in there, pretty constructive by some (less or not at all by others ^^).
Indeed, as a mesmer, if you play tPvP meta, so if you play anything except garbage useless PU (trolol 1v1 build useless for team) facing a S/D thief, well, you have no chance to win at all (if he’s good enough). You might play like a god, would not make a difference.
As said, they have :
- very long uptime of evasion (#3 sword, #3 SB, dodges by a lot) pressuring you in the same time : either you get damage and die, or you effectively dodge/stealth/run away etc … and survive. Problem ? After all that, you’re running out of CD, meanwhile thief stealths, regens ini and burst you again and again and again.
You, mesmer, have CDs, after some time, you’ll be caught offguard, regardless how good you might be and you’ll eventually die.
So all you can do is try to make the best use of your mechanisms, moves and dodges to buy some time. Then, ask or pray for an ally to save you or run away and thief won because he now has the point.

- problem of that very high evasion uptime is that thief can pressure you for a long period of time and you have to wait for an occasion to counter attack-burst the thief. Either you fail and will die, or you’ll succeed (with some luck) to deal a reasonnable blow. In that case, thief will spam more evade or use stealth to retreat, build ini, and burst again : rinse and repeat.

- so basically, if you’re playing with low health, especially in zerker amulet, you’ll lose to a thief. At best, you can “draw” a thief (if you force him to retreat).

- Even as condi engi, which is pretty much soft counter to thief (thief being hard counter to mesmer) it’s still pretty hard to kill a S/D thief, depending on your template and utilities. Your best bet is the fire bomb, since it ticks in constant, if thief gets in, you now has to survive and he’ll suffer major damage. However, without bombs, or if you’re on CD, well you actually have to land your attacks, and we come again to the problem of very high evasion uptime (explained before).

- No more problem ? Yes, one more and maybe the worst : teleport through the walls/doors etc … which makes it even harder. Let’s be honest, if a thief catches you offguard, jumping at you while you were not aware, you’ll die.
“No problem, just look at what’s coming and be prepared !”
Yeah, sure, but there’s the problem of teleporting through doors/walls. If it were limited to 1 short ranged teleport, that would be OK. However, a thief can use Sword #2, infiltrator’s signet AND steal for that, so can cover a long distance (not often used since it burst 2 CD) or can just spam it like hell (the rinse and repeat process).
So the problem of this is if you’re busy looking at or fighting another guy, thief will teleport through and burst you dead.
If you do see him coming, well, not sure at all you’ll be able to stop him, since you can’t attack him beforehand : thief will hide through walls and jump straight to you. After this, come back to high evasion uptime problem.

So in the end, I don’t think it’s a problem of sigils or runes. I think it’s more a problem of accumulating too many good things, lowing risk/reward factor. Approaching a target is not that risky for thief because of teleporting through walls. Then you have high evasion uptime during the fight. If you’re losing or missed your burst, just TP back or stealth to retreat, build ini and come again.
You would want to lower one of this problem to lower the “hard counter” aspect, give slightly better chance to counterattack to make it more fair.

It is indeed becoming so boring … I’ve had enough, I removed whisps from my main window, could not stand them anymore, a shame for real people who will whisp me … but anyway, the problem is more complex than that, the reasons there are so many ?
1) Because people do buy their stuff, otherwise they would not exist
Why they exist ? Because …
2) Game is unrewarding as hell : rewards are always very poor in the game, RNG is absolutely everywhere, you’re always under the impression of playing for nothing.
So this is the great opportunity for gold sellers : who would not want, in an unrewarding game totally based on RNG, use some money to have guaranteed good reward ?
Well of course it’s definitely not the case for everybody (not for me either) but it’s easy to understand their success …

For a short term solution, yours to only accept whisps from your friends and guildies seems good (even if it can block real people trying to whisper you but meh …. no other choice).
Another solution that would limit that would be to simply remove the ability for low level/low achievement characters to whisp people.
Like you need at least level 10 to whisp (I personally don’t really like this one) or, better, you need at least 100-500 (random numbers) points of achievement to whisp people.
Or it could prevent flood : while under those conditions, you can only send X whisps within Y period of time.

I think they could try to increase that cap progressively, like putting it to 3 tiers … wait and see 2 weeks/1 month, then 4 tiers if everything’s OK, and I think 4 tiers should be enough to do and alleaviate the “pressure” on solo queue.

Hello,
As the title suggests, I was wondering if anybody else had noticed a change in the pace at which you earn your PvP rewards in hothjoin ?
I used to get them pretty fast (the 2 tiers) but recently I cannot help but realize/think that I’m taking longer to get the same amount of rewards, for the same conditions (wins/loses, duration of the game etc …)
So I was wondering if Anet had slightly nerfed that pace or is it only an impression ?

Regarding how bad rewards are in fractals, can’t imagine how bad they would be in a fractal path lol …
Well, actually, it might be better since you have more chance to get ascended weapons/armor in PvP reward tracks than in fractals, ironic isn’kitten
Yet it’s truth : go PvP to have stuff for PvE ….

And to answer to suggestion : nop, don’t, fractals are supposed to be unique and difficult and """""""rewarding"""""""""" high end content.

As the title suggests, I would like to know if there was a way to review the tournament of legends, since I was not home yesterday, I could not watch it.

Currently, it’s almost impossible due to megaservers.
Actually, you can get the new trait only if you actually kill the Lyssa priest that does NOT appear during the defense event.
Consequently, you have to fail the defense event to encounter Lyssa during attack event.
However, with megaservers, there are always some people on the map and the defense event is ridiculously easy to achieve, so there is almost never the attack event and you can’t get the new trait …
Your only chance is to get there in offpeak hours, when there’s hardly anybody online and try to reason and explain people there to fail the event.

It’s pretty good to have added a few servers since that was a bit difficult to play (join a game, wait the end and hurry to join before others at next map).
However, the game was really enjoyable, with more often balanced team, with more experienced players and inability to go spec to switch team since everybody wanted to play.
It’s a good thing it’s not that crowded anymore, yet I think there were too many servers added, which results in the same games as it was before : half empty servers with almost only inexperienced players, allowing the spec/switch team again and again to cause even more imbalance.
Most of the games are terribly inbalanced again because of this, and after a map, a good part ragequit, leaving server half empty …
Could there be a balance in between ? Like instead of adding those 50 servers, something like 20-25 max would be enough ?

This build is so bad and so easy to counter O_o
It has next to 0 damage since no crit chance, except on burst abilities but Hammer and Mace aren’t known for their DPS …
Then, when zerk stance is off, condi spam and he dies.
Or just range the warrior to death and make fun of him.

As others have said before, yeah, make sure to check all AI damage since yeah, Svanir and Chieftain hit like a truck now.
I would not be surprised if minions from necros were also affected by this.

And finally, I don’t know if it could be normal, but this seems to only affect PvP, I haven’t noticed any difference in damage from my phantasms in PvE, has anyone noticed some ?
(I know it’s PvP subforum but more information could help them find the solution faster)

A quick question, sorry if this has been asked or answered but I dont have enough time to read everything : is it intended that you can’t unlock the new traits in the defense part of Arah gates and of Lyssa ?
Are we supposed to just pay the price in gold or is it planned to fix it ?

I can confirm something’s broken with AI damage.
Also was hit by over 8K by hammer of wisdom while wearing rabid so having like 2800 armor …. Intended ? O_o

Matchmaking has not changed. We stopped showing ranks because they were being used incorrectly (as if they implied skill rather than time invested), causing a toxic environment where players felt justified (wrongly) while harassing each other.

Yeah and we can still see who do kitten on the battlefield and noobs are equally harassed.
The difference ? From “omg noob R XX L2P” to “omg noob L2P” oh yeah awesome …

Actually, its definitely more a way to prevent us from proving through screenshots that MMR is not working in some situations.

Overall, it is very good, great ideas in there.
However, there are some issues, like hours/prime time for bosses as other people have talked about, won’t talk about it again, it has all been said.

Yet, I would like to bring more attention about megaservers that killed the ability of guesting to gather more materials, which results in prices slowly going higher, and that will very soon skyrocket as soon as megaservers are deployed everywhere.
Do you have any intention to counter that inflation ? Like, just as an example, putting the ori vein near the champion in Southsun Cove to be a rich vein once again ?

There will be enough achievements that you will be able to complete your dailies and monthlies entirely in PvE, WvW, or PvP if you like – but you can also dabble in different game modes and complete your achievements by playing a mix of content.

I thought the exact same as you OP, this seems more like a lame tactic to tax you out more through having to pay the WP twice.
It’s not twice the price since it’s less expensive the closer you are, but more like 1.5 the price as it is now.
Its seems more like a disguised tactic to “compensate” the removal of repair (translate as : tax more players to reduce their income to “fix” the economy)

When introducing the megaservers, have you already thought about the impact on the economy, more precisely on the prices of mats ?
Since guesting is largely used to gather more mats, removing this ability will basically make gathering 1/3 of its corrent efficiency, which means less supply and same/more demand —> prices skyrocket.
The problem is especially true for orichalchum.
An answer to that would be nice

So I was wondering : I guess with that system, guesting will be put to and end, is that right ?
If so, have you already taken into account the impact of this on the economy (no guesting = less material gathering = higher prices, especially with the nerf to money in champion bags and from events) ?

The only thing that makes me sad is that they did not say anything about it
They kept hype alive saying “you’ll see what happens” referring to this bobblehead thing.
They should have said immediately “SAB is not returning on this 1st of April” as they did with percursor scavenger hunt for feature patch :/

Don’t try to find logic in there … it’s not that.
This nerf is nothing but a knee-jerk reaction to “I play how I want” whiners on the forums. They whined enough, Anet nerfed zerkers. And it might happen again.

Am I the one who misunderstood the blog post or is it all other people ?
From what I read, it only says that ascended will become account bound, which means you can remove armor from a character to give it to another and vice-versa, NOT that you will somehow unlock the ascended armor for your account ….

This is ok as long as we can earn the transmutation charges through sPvP in a reasonable fashion. Although for sPvP I would love for it to be free and unlimited similar to GW1, that may just be my greed.

Nop ! They did not talk about how to get those, except the fact that we can use transmutation crystals and stones to convert into transmutation charges. Why do you think ?
Because I was right and you’ll have to pay as you used to pay for transmutation crystals, nothing changed on that, it’s just easier to do so that you spend even more money.
They did not talk about it because that would make people complain/angry and the objective, after announcing the nerf of critical damage, was to announce something positive to people.

Also, they said PvE and PvP would be unified through this … EUREKA ! You now have to pay to change skins in PvP too ! Isn’t it wonderful ?

I was right, pay transmutation each and every time you want to change appearance check the blog.
The only good thing is that the low level stones can convert (with 3) into 1 charge. Less bad than expected but still not that great

I don’t care much about dueling, and I would even be against it.
Why ? Because 1v1 is bad and only for showing off dudes, GW2 was balanced around interaction, not boasting in 1v1 (reminds me in AvA in GW1 “noob come 1v1” seriously ?)
There is also some way to duel in custom arena. Yes it’s not perfect, but it does exist. You can also do that in the Obsidium Sanctum.

It should definitely not become a priority over anything else. Anything else is more important than that.

Well I can understand people complaining about those streams since understand spoken English for someone whose mother tongue is not English is very hard, especially given that some of Anet members love to speak very fast, on pretty low volume or talking while laughing at the same time, which makes it very hard to understand.
However, not being able to read/write with the help of dictionnaries is not really an excuse … those streams always have a written version at the end, which helps.
And if people aren’t happy with it, they just wait for patchnote in their own language …. that’s it.

So basically, your 2d T3 armor would cough only costs you 30-50g instead of 100g, awesome !
Now imagine for cheap armors …

I can bet you a thousand quaggan tonics that this is not going to happen.

Totally agree with you OP, that’s why I hope to see this issue tackled in the feature patch under the “removing restrictions” or “facilitating friendly play”. Let’s wait and see, if nothing is announced for it, the nerf to zerker would just be a knee-jerk reaction to “protect” the economy.
