10 seconds all boons needs to be replaced with 5 seconds all boons. 10 seconds for all boons in unprecedented in spvp.
Really the only area of the game that a guardian excels right now is that they are still the best center point bunker in rated pvp. Talk about pigeonholed.
All I read here is I’m a pro you are just qq’er everything is fine type nonsense that is rampant on these boards from a few people. It usually comes from people that do nothing but run in organized groups and win all the time so what do they care. Go do a couple hundred solo q matches and get back to me.

Well three seconds is a joke I was hoping at least 5 seconds. Six months from now they will increase it to 5 seconds and that will supposedly be come big boost to the class.
Anybody know the duration of the fury you get from using meditations when traited? Also, how much longer do buffs last if you use Hallowed Ground?
A guardian will almost never beat an equally skilled mesmer one versus one. Not that there arent strategies it just that the ammount of clones they can spit out and there ability to stealth against a good one he can counter everything you do.

I am always against Cruuk, out of the maybe 10 games I play per day, he is on at least 2 of them. Always against me mind you.
Cruuk is ranked 252, me.. not even on the leaderboards. Every time I come against him, we get kitten d. Like it’s not even a competition. It’s not a call out to him, it’s simply an example of how broken the matchmaking is.
Why do I have to suffer against teams destined to beat mine. Why is it even an option for it to happen? The reason why the players % wins is so high towards the top end, is because the ones like myself have to suffer in games we’re destined to lose, and are simply food for them.
Why play a game mechanic that seems to cater only for one side? The current system seems to… get a bunch of similar ranked players, and then put them either against another team of similar ranked players, who are drastically higher, or drastically lower. It’s never even..
I ask.. what the flying kitten!
They have heard these complaints for months and so far no changes or even a tentative time table for there changes. Really it is the biggest thing wrong with this game at the moment imo even more so then the cruddy meta is how uncompetitve your average solo q match is because of this horrible matching making system. It is common to win by 500-200 or worse and lose by 500-200 or worse all the time. People feel cheated and that leads to a lot of the rage and discontent.
They can’t even balance the old skills.

When will people understand that they (A-net the company not the poor handful of pvp devs) care nothing about pvp.

Healing Breeze will always be crap for pvp as long as it works in a lame cone. It channeling is fine but it should just heal everyone in a certain radius around you per tick. It could heal for 1 billion in its current form and I would still still never use it. A few interesting changes but really nothing all that great. I don’t see my build changing based on this.
The idea of 11 seconds of invulnarability under any circumstance, if its true, is ludicrous and should jump out kitten to any dev with a quarter of a brain we don’t even need to go into its possible uses. A-net never ceases to surprise.
Anet should just copy sc2 ledder system, which i think is really good, but requires tons of constant attention and tuniing. Dont know anything about LoL ladder system.
Yes. I believe starcraft has some kind of bonus to rating based on winning a certain ammount of games over a time period among other things. Something like a bonus pool. That would keep the people that don’t play off the leaderboard eventually. So you have your glicko-rating plus a bonus for playing and winning x games over a time period. Then the decay doesn’t even matter that much because you will get passed by people actually playing the game eventually. Any way you slice it the way they did it was a kluge job and hastily implemented and they have had like half a year to fix it (hidden rating and decay has been around a long time when was the original team leaderboard April?) and we still have no estimate when these fixes will be implemented it should be embarrasing to them but isn’t.
Any kind of chain cc is bad. Powerful CC like stuns and fears should be capped at 2 seconds in that one person can only apply it enough times in a row to last 2 second over a given time period. Anybody that thinks losing control of your character for 3-4 seconds straight as a result of just one other character’s action is just fine shouldn’t give input on game balance.

But consider the thing that if you move here, you won’t get the match win reward chests, idk about the glory, for a while.
For example if you got 200 chests on NA tournaments, you won1t get chest for your first 200 wins on EU.
That sounds like the same queue rate as N/A. The problems with solo q are all systematic (horrid matchmaking, 4v5 and afkers etc) I find it hard to believe its much better at all. Never mind the fact that the prime times are way off. If I was to play at my normal time of 10pm to 1am eastern time US that is way off from Euro time thats very early morning.

No. The strength of bunkers needs to be decreased not increased. The larger the point the harder they are to kill. Running around like a chicken with your head cut off and not even attacking half the time is already rewarded too much. Make some changes that tone down the effectiveness of bunkers and maybe then.

When I see something like that it’s usually warriors. Thieves probably second most likely though. For awhile it was necros although people have backed off of them for some reason probably to play warriors.
mesmer aoe condition cleansing, guardian aoe condition cleansing and aoe reduced condie duration, sigil of paralyzation fixed.
So yeah, it may not change much but you don’t know it yet. You haven’t even seen the full notes. Why do people always rush to the forums to make these kind of threads
Adding a few forms of aoe condition cleansing to classes that may or may not exist in any given match is not going to cure the current condition meta. The actual conditions themselves need to be nerfed and/or how they are applied. This game needs to move away from the idea of hard counters. THere are 8 classes and only 5 spots in a groups how can you tell me that adding some more abilities to 2 classes is going to fix things. Its the conditions that are the problem. They are too easy to apply, last too long, and gain a disproptionate advantage by having to rely on less stats then power builds.

Its best to play several profession and switch depending on the team composition before match starts. This will increase your chances of winning.
Seriously guardian rated over necromancer??? do you know how long it takes to kill them with my necro? 15~ seconds. and that is without losing any hp at all if they are bunker.
A support guardian won’t kill a necro, but thats not where they shine.
In team fights they provide so much support. They can hold points, ensure stomps, heal/cleanse/peel the group. The little things that addup, goes un-noticed, but when you don’t have a guardian its sorely missed. Not alot of people play guardian so to have one ready to go swap to is nice.
The problem with this is that people play so kitten in solo q. Support guardians are great but people do all sorts of crazy things in solo q and you are basically only as good as your team-mates when what you provide is team support and the ability to hold out against multiple people for a couple minutes. If the calvary doesn’t come you are screwed. Sadly its the classes that can kill people the most efficeintly while still having some kind of durability whether though high hits and toughess, self healing, or dodges and blocks that are the kings in solo q. Guardian is middle of the road class in solo q and if you count spirit ranger as a class lol I would rank them behind Warrior, Nerco, Thief, and Ranger just because of the nature of the beast.

He did get something right in his made up post though saying January. Everything is always a few months in the horizon trying to string people along indefinitely.
Actually conquest is very simple to understand and a complete newb should understand the proper rotations after about 100 tournaments. Sure you won’t beat an experienced group in team queue but in solo q where everyone is random its easy to see the people that just dont care to make any attempt to attack points intelligently. Anything that takes a little thought is not automatically bad. People act like fighting is not central to winning conquest type matches and its just not true. Its making the proper rotations and then winning fights.
People that play bad builds are generally uniformed very casual players. Even the weakest classes have best of type builds with a few minor personal touches the player can choose to add. There is little that can be done about it. If matchmaking actually worked it wouldn’t be a problem they eventually would lose a lot and end up facing other people who just want to run whatever whether it works or not.
Lol, January I guess im done with this game. Nothing but sky high promises in the future. You fools can continue to get strung along to your hearts content though. They mention two months ago they were working on a lot of this stuff. So we have 5+ month time frames to fix important pvp quality of life issues. You guys are suckers.
Come on now people can’t be serious with the stun break nonsense. Most people run 1 or 2 stun breaks in there build warriors have access to literally 3 or 4 stuns if they spec a certain way(and possible immobilzes as well )and the most powerful of them with a sigil last 4 seconds and can be used like every 8 seconds. In some one on one or two on two situations if they fight goes on more then about 20 seconds they will lock you down eventually for at least 4 seconds straight, if not more, unless they are total bads. Thats an eternity and you are toast if the players are good.

I have no problem with this quit frankly. I know no 5 man guilds outside of spvp. You don’t do much WvWvW is you think 20 versus 20 is a zerg fight. If it is it is the very bottom of it of the designation.
We don’t have enough pvp players for the current game modes.
If you are constantly in uneven fights its because your team is losing fights elsewhere and/or have a bunch of idiots for team-mates that don’t know how to assualt points properly. Uneven fights happens in all types of pvp not just conquest. You must feel like RVR type pvp is slimey too I guess. Any kind of radomness is bad for you I guess but for a lot of us that is what makes pvp fun.
Disengage abilities are already extremely powerful for many professions. Slower speed in combat prevents one person being able to permanently survive vs. any number of opponents just by being faster, because an out-of-combat opponent will catch him.
Yes, but everyone in combat moves at a slower speed including the chasers and speed increasing abilties work in combat so this still can kind of happen.
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on the forums about how they can’t deal with warriors. I’ve never felt that warriors were overwhelming especially with the hammer, due to highly telegraphed attacks.
So I’m willing to help anyone who wants to learn about how to fight a warrior for free. Just message me and I’ll use different builds and show you what telegraphed attacks to look for and when to pop those useful stunbreakers.
I’m not the best warrior by far but if you know what attacks to dodge then it will become a skill fight rather then it being simply “OP”.

You don’t really understand the complaints at all to post this. Most of the complaints have nothing to do with dealing with 1 single warrior in a 1 versus 1 type stetting or avoiding skull crack. For one things its almost never 1 warrior in solo q pvp or hotjoins its multiple. It’s way more nuanaced then that. This smacks of the same old l2p nonsense I am a pro packaged in a kinder wrapper. Just to be clear here that whether you can deal with it or not most of the time are you saying that warrior sustain given the damage they can do is perfectly ok at the moment and that it is good game play to potentially be able to lock someone down for about 6 seconds if you can catch them one time with stun breaks down? Most people do not believe at least one of these things are ok based on most feedback I have seen.
Besides a role like bunker for a game type like solo q Warriors do everything good enough that why be anything but a warrior? Good sustian, Good damage, and good mobility. Good ranged or melee capability. All those things are golden in solo q and Warrior has them in spades plus lots of hard crowd control. Not surpisingly they make up like 1/3 of solo q rosters right now.

This constant criticizing and flaming to developer´s work is only going to make them work less and care less about pvp population.Either point up the flaws of some system so they can check them, or come up with solutions, but random flames isn´t gona help the game in any way.

This is a pretty juvenile view of the situation. The devs have a job to do and they need to do it to the best of there ability regardless of how players act here. As a matter of fact I believe they would be fired tommorrow if they behaved in that manner and there bosses knew about it.
Sometime after the new year or very late in the year. I am just waiting for them to confirm this that important quality of life fixes will not be for another two months or more and then I will be quiting this game.

I’m glad it feels like it to you that we expect too much and frequent give and take between devs and players is not industry standard but my experience is that it is false. You sound like someone that has only played GW1 and GW2. Almost every MMORPG I have ever played that wasn’t crap released patch notes ahead of time and also gave fairly detailed here is what is coming down the pike type posts almost several times a year even for pvp. Those forums still exist DAOC, Warhammer, and Rift and even Star Wars which sadly was always crap but they still released patch notes ahead of time so if you dont believe you can go check. I just don’t understand the idea that it is the player’s fault or the players are always unreasonable. It’s not unreasonable over a year in to expect pvp to farther along given the money this game has made in a lot of people’s mind.

Many top players who win all the time and winning is what they enjoy most complain quite often. Many top players who have won at a absurd rate have left this game or barely play it anymore. So imo its really not about winning or losing for most people that determines whether someone will enjoy a game and stick with it.

Rangers are one of the worst designed classes along with mesmers. Too AI driven. I don’t know how you can claim you want a game with a fairly high skill cap and have classes that you can build in a way where mainly AI driven pets are at least half the class effectiveness if not more. There will be more spirit nerfs A-net rarely nerfs in one fell swoop.
The matchmaking sucks. You average game win or loss will be ridiculous landslides a lot of the time. In solo q a fairly competitve game is 500-300 which is really not competiteve at all.
The best you could possibly spin it for A-net is that it is both the players fault and A-nets fault. There is nothing that absolves A-net from allowing cheese builds. Its there job to balance the games properly. It not my job to make sure I play a balanced spec I am well within my rights to play any build A-net allows. If it is detrimental to the game that is A-nets fault not mine. Nice stockholm syndrome type post though.
The real answer is not to spend too much time on these forums (Or any PvP games forums for that matter).
Solid advice.
So, if I avoided this forum I wouldn’t notice the lack of rewards, meaningless leaderboards, poor matchmaking, lack of game modes and mediocre balance this game has? The negativity here is because of stuff that happens in game and people come here to vent. Not the other way around. The negative tone of these forums is irrelevant as far as I am concerned. I know how i feel after a few hour session of doing solo q games and its increasinly angry and it has nothing to do with anything on this board but my own personal experience in game. The vast majority of things people complain about are issues. I’m glad you are willing to wait for months without complaining for certain features and things but a lot of us aren’t and it doesn’t make you any better then anyone else because you are.

It’s sad place where spvp only players stand around waiting for 10 minute queues to pop.
I’m not saying kill the class or anyhing but the regen needs to be nerfed and imo there needs to be some kind of dimishing returns or short immunity to stuns. It doesnt even have to be immediate immunity fine you can get someone a couple of times but seriously not long enough to take someone down from like 20k health to zero if there stun breaks are down almost by yourself. 40% of rosters being Warriors in solo q is really not that much of an exaggeration. FOTM like that generally does not pop up for zero reason. Warriors are a bit too good right now.
So I keep getting 4v5s. Why isn’t Anet giving this more attention?

I still don’t understand why they don’t use the recourse of player opinions. ( I know most player opinions are worthless) but the devs know , at least the amongst pvp players, which opinions are not worthless and worth checking.

I know it sounds like I’m slagging these guys but the transparency (here is what we are thinking of doing soon)and give and take are awful (this is why we did such and such) so honestly what else can it be really? I’m not saying they don’t take any feedback but ive seen this kind of attitude before back in the olden days of MMORPGs from people like EQ’s Brad McQuaid. They are going to run this game 100% as they see fit and you are going to like it or not.
