You got it mistaken, they were merely helping out the Vigil fight off the minions of Kralkatorrik.
What do branded and humans have in common? Charrs as the enemy. They’re obviously lumping us together with dragon minions! They want to exterminate us!

LOL funny thread. I won’t mind if they do expand on their adjectives though. I’d like to see them use words such as groovy, melodramatic, intoxicating etc.. :/
If it comes down to a battle of wits between them, I’d put my bet on Taimi.
I still want to just punt Phlunt off a cliff. I mean, why do we need a battle of wits for this. Come on. The dude cowed in the corner the moment any sort of combat started. It would be so easy to dispose of him!
In fact, if the rest of the council is as cowardly as he is, we might as well just do a Pact takeover of the Asuran council. Then we can put Trahearne in place as the “secret” council lead. LOL.
I nominate Steward Gixx as Asuran overlord!
We already got him to attend the summit. Who’s to say he hadn’t ran to some more mordrem on his way back to Rata Sum? Certainly not me… teehee let me escort you on your way back councillor
And here she is as Taki from Soul Calibur:
(I only have 1 character so I try to find 2 people to cosplay as: one, using her normal armor and another using her outfit)

Whelp I play on a toaster but what the heck.
Here’s my character Queen Of The Moors cosplaying as Angelina Jolie’s version of Maleficent.
Dwayna Armor is so beautiful…
Woot it does work in wvw! LOL gonna have fun buffing people with cakes XD also applies swiftness when eaten for a couple of seconds (unless you already have sugar rush)
Had a player shooting cakes, could not receive the buff… Sooo self only buff?
Nope just tried it it works on other people. Not if you already have sugar rush though. :/ Even the NPCs get the buff lol. Even minis and ranger pets!

The birthday plaster is interesting.
10 minutes of
Plus 40 to all attributes
Plus 10% karma
Plus 15% magic find
Plus 15% exp from kills. Now this can be very interesting and useful.
It’s a bundle that you keep in your inventory and appear to be permanent
Thank you ANet, for real.
Yea plus it’s really shiny I like it lol
I like the birthday blaster. Would’ve been happier if we got a mini too. But I’ll take what I can get.
If minis were bigger and had better animations like in the original Guild Wars, I’d be all for random birthday minis like they had.
I miss my mini Kuunavang.
That’s why I’m hoping for a mini mystical dragon.. Might be a decent alternative to kuunavang.
what gifts do you expect to get, apart from 5 queen jennas
Yeah ANet please don’t give us another account-bound minipet that cannot be thrown in the forge. I have 5-mini Jenna’s that I would like to put 4 of them into the forge… but nope, I can either keep 5 of them or delete 4 of them… Bit annoying.
well at least all 5 of your characters can run around with jenna without the dreaded..deposit collectible…switch character….go to bank and grab it.
do people use mini’s? ive never seen anyone with them out. Apart from me at launch with my Rydlock, and HoM mini’s.
I personally make sure I have my mini summoned at all times. XD
Each of my chars has a mini and I have mine out.
They don’t stand out like they did in Guild Wars 1. In that game they moved around. This movement made them stand out from the background and caught the eye. Guild Wars 2’s mini don’t wander around. A couple have animations, such as the dancing spider, that make them conspicuous but otherwise they stand there. This lack of movement means most people aren’t going to see a mini unless it’s running after the char.
Yea and some minis are just so small! My favorite is the mini raven but my god, even I have to look very very closely in order to see it I wish it’s constantly flying instead

Finally, I settled for the Mist Walker chestpiece – somewhat appropriate for a pact commander (me a pact commander? Insane! :-D). But why on earth do I have to skuffle around with this blonde?! :-) Would love to see some more glamorous stuff for the females anyway. :-)
Hahaha you know I’ve forgotten about being a pact commander until I was introduced as such. It didn’t occur to me to wear something along the lines of being an officer XD
Kasmeer can be your handmaiden XD

I would actually like Jennah better if she really is disguising herself as Anise and manipulating things from the shadow. Although I don’t know how Logan would feel about that. :/ Maybe he’ll like it.
Or if the Anise = Livia theory proves to be correct, then Queen Jennah might be her minion, Livia now being a n/me
It was obviously a two-handed sword.
Also, why do you sign your name on every post?
LOL yea I don’t get why some people have to type their username after every post when you can use an automated sig and you can use the see all messages by function anyway.
I don’t think Anise would compromise the Queen’s safety tbh. Even if she does turn out to be a villain, I feel like she’d be aligned with the humans still. Probably wishful thinking on my part, since my main is human. XD
I’m hoping it would be like the god backpieces (light of dwayna, shadow of grenth and chaos of lyssa) but a weapon instead where the recipe drops and you need a couple hundred gold to craft it.
kitten morals I’m just happy to finally get Belinda’s GS :X

I think the answer is to put SAB in the game permanently. Because if it was in the game permanently, it would be forgotten about by most people in a month.
And the people who want to play it can happily do so.
QFT
Honestly I don’t understand why they didn’t just do this in the first place. I guess the novelty would wear off for most players but I don’t see how it’s worse than not being in the game at all, and people would play it again anyway when it gets updated. I understand the issue about the skins being too common should it remain sell-able, but since it’s essentially a dungeon on its own; it won’t be any different than the ones we already have permanently and they can just make upcoming recolors for succeeding stages account bound or something. :/ This way, people who bought the infinite continue coins would feel they are getting their money’s worth.
I totally agree with the SAB thing. They should give refunds to people who purchased the infinite coin.
The only backpiece I want is the black wings from the Raiment of The Lich costume from GW1. PLEASE ANET!
I was mostly responding to what I quoted, which is the part where you claim that you had to check the wiki for information about Phlunt, which wasn’t necessary because Taimi acknowledged Phlunt’s position herself while talking to you. For someone so interested in standing up for the little greedy brat, you seem to pay very little attention to what she says. I can relate, though, I tend to zone out as well when she starts squeaking.
Zojja’s position, that we can only guess at, but after the whole mess with Destiny’s Edge, the melodrama it took to get back together and kill Zhaitan, I suspect she wouldn’t let a child’s lack of perspective get in the way of mobilizing her own people against Mordremoth.
lol you took that seriously?
As for what Zojja would’ve done, I doubt she would’ve allowed Phlunt to take possession of such a powerful device that easily given her personality. If she showed concern towards a relatively less important invention such as the Interspacial Translocator because the council might hand it over to the inquest, I don’t see why she wouldn’t do the same for her own apprentice.
<Character name>: Zojja’s right. The Council accepted that protest and gave away our translocator suspiciously fast. I think that whole charade was rehearsed.
Zojja: Which means it’s only a matter of time before they rescind their decision, take away your victory and award the Snaff Prize to the Inquest.
Zojja: I say we even the score. Let’s take back your teleporter by force before they take away your right to do it legally.
Granted, the inquest might not be directly/blatantly involved in this one, but as kittenhe is, she probably would’ve learned from history how untrustworthy the council can be.
Zojja: Save your ink, Varkk. It’s obvious Flax and Teyo are working together. And I will not let them besmirch Snaff’s memory.
A Meeting of the Minds
<Character name>: I had no idea the Council was corrupt enough to hoard information that could help Tyria deal with the dragons.
Scholar Krasso: They obviously think they can keep themselves safe in Rata Sum. But the more power they stockpile, the faster the dragons will come for them.
Zojja: Listen, I’ve fought the dragons, and I am telling you they have no chance. The only hope Tyria has is for all races to join forces.
(edited by Leo Paul.1659)
As a human, I had to check Phlunt’s profile on the GW2 wiki first and it says “Phlunt is an old asura in the Council Level. It is unclear if he is a council member..”
Or you could just read the dialogue of the current living story:
Taimi: "I talked to Zojja, just like Braham asked me to. She got me in to see Councillor Phlunt. It was all great until I made the mistake of mentioning my device. "
He’s on the council. Zojja is in on things. No reason for any kind of distrust.
Zojja only knows taimi is meeting with Phlunt. I doubt she knows he is forcing her to hand over her invention, and whether she would agree to such terms, considering the stance she took on The Snaff Prize.
With the introduction of the upcoming glorious hero’s armor, only the people who win pvp tournaments will have access to this armor set. This means you are restricting an exclusive armor set to less than 1% of your player base.
I initially joined this game because I loved how it was different from other games. You didn’t have to be in the top raiding guilds and schedule your life around raids to get the best looking gear, nor did you have to place top in ‘arena teams’ to get the best looking pvp gear. At the beginning, you could pretty much play how you want and gain xp towards your level or earn loot towards crafting a legendary.
Sure, there were more efficient ways than others to earn coin or xp, but you could still play how you wanted and enjoy knowing you were still working towards a goal.
But now you have chosen to cater an armor set solely to the ‘1%’ crowd that feels they need to show off to the rest of the player base. This means you are excluding 99% of your playerbase from an armor set just so the 1% can feel special.
Quite frankly I thought ArenaNet was above this sort of design. Why did this change?
In Guild Wars 1, there were unique capes for tournament winners. Surely that would be considered catering to the top 1% as well? So to answer your question, Anet has recognized the top pvp players in the past, so it why would they not do so again?
Aren’t those earned from automated tournaments? Meaning all gw2 guilds are eligible and can be earned ingame? (no need to travel somewhere?)
(edited by Leo Paul.1659)
That’s pretty low :O Smite’s launch tournament was at least $200k and I don’t think Hi-Rez is as large/profitable as Anet.
Personally, I feel like armor skins with a little/different particle effect isn’t substantial enough for winners of an international tournament. :/ Isn’t there like a cash prize or something for them instead?
I don’t mind if they’d introduce convention skins for attendees of the tournament though.
(edited by Leo Paul.1659)
Are the skins the only thing the tourney winners get?
Anyway, I don’t think this would’ve been an issue if PvP received more pvp-exclusive skins. As it is, with the removal of Tribal armor, they are only getting 2 new skins in a span of 2 years – with 1 being tournament exclusive. I can see where the complaints are coming from.
WHAT? sPvP has been all but ignored. Look at all the skins in the CS? There were more PvP armors before and since the advent of the wardrobe system, those have all been pulled out of the game so PvP has NO unique armor. I think it is about time for some PvP/WvW love by A.Net.
That’s what I’m saying. PvPers do need love. But as it is, the tournament-winners only exclusive armor is a pretty steep requirement, only a handful of people realistically are gonna be able to participate in. If it was accessible to more people and can be attained by just playing the game (say, all level 80 pvpers), then I don’t think it would be such a big issue.
Do the tourney winners deserve good rewards? Absolutely. But do they have to be prioritized over the rest of the pvpers who have been asking for elite pvp armors?

Arguments like “kitten-kitten tourney winners deserve the prettier pvp-only skin anet added in 2 years more than the rest of elite pvp players (level 80) coz dey r beter and are more privileged” are just as foolish.

Would’ve also liked to get another council member to attend the summit.

Not everybody can join the NBA or NFL or the Olympics, let alone win it. That being said, they do deserve whatever they get, it’s just that the analogies are borderline ignorant.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/pvp-visual-and-reward-updates/
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/announcing-the-guild-wars-2-global-tournament-series/*Basically only 15 people will be able to earn the Glorious Hero armor set every special tournament, even if ANet holds a tournament every month (which is unlikely, it’ll more likely be a quarterly thing) that’s only 180 people a year, assuming you have completely new winners every tournament (we’ll definitely see some regulars though, especially with cash prizes involved). OP isn’t saying only 1% of players PvP, he’s saying only 1% of players will be able to earn the Glorious Hero set. *
That being said, I’m perfectly fine with this concept. If people want to spend the time, money, and effort to fly around the world to play video games and promote GW2 (let’s be honest, that’s what making GW2 an esport is ultimately about: a massive advertising campaign), then blingy armor is the least they can get. No amount of faffing about on my computer from the comfort of my home is going to be equivalent to that kind of dedication, so I wouldn’t dream of asking for access to the Glorious Hero set.
“There will be two sets of armor that will be released exclusively to PvP: the Glorious armor and Glorious Hero’s armor.”
“The Glorious Hero’s set is a top-tier reward for certain competitive tournaments like the Guild Wars 2 International All-Star Tournament at gamescom. If you aren’t one of the teams competing in that tournament, don’t despair—the Glorious Hero’s set will be available as a prize in similar tournaments in the future.”
“The Glorious Armor set is something we wanted all players to be able to earn. As such, all players have the opportunity to obtain the Glorious armor set from a repeatable Glorious Armor Reward Track that will arrive with the feature pack. "Glorious Hero Armor is Tournament exclusive.
Grorious Armor is PvP Reward Track.
QFT. I dunno why people are missing this part. There are TWO exclusive armor sets being introduced. The topic is about the one that is awarded only in TOURNAMENTS. Stop derailing the thread.
(edited by Leo Paul.1659)
Ermm….
I don’t see anywhere that indicate that only 1% is capable of obtaining it. It is a pvp exclusive armour, it is not a TOURNAMENT exclusive armour. There’s big difference.
The people who join the TOURNAMENT will able to obtain these armour set without having to grind for it via PVP.
On other hand, to those who didn’t join the TOURNAMENT will have to get them via the PVP track.
geez, i must salute you for your selective reading skill.
I know right ?

I’m entertained by the irony.
Aside from the armor, what else would the winners of the tournament get?
This is… oddly specific.
I’m gonna go with dragons.
A Spontaneous idea i had during chit chat on an IRC channel
it started with the kitten why is this new enemy boss another dragonYou do realise there’s a large and angry dragon underground don’t you?
your talking lore right?
or did i somehow miss something..
Primordus? I think he means you can probably get your underground map when he is introduced.
Well we know what happened to them. They raised us, decided we were ready and left us to fend for ourselves…as per Nightfall anyway.
I mean.. I miss my mommy.

Is that…..it cant be……are u maleficent?
If so were are your wings ?
Yea, I’m actually surprised that I got invited to a party this time. (Party Politics) :p
With the datamined raiment of the lich outfit, I’m hoping I can get my wings then. Hopefully they release the black wings as a separate backpiece… Please Anet! <3
Personally, I’m hoping we can get some insight as to what happened to the human gods. I’m kinda getting tired of sylvari.
Well yeah, the whole use of the word dead is pure hyperbole. City of Heroes is a dead game…because they shut down the servers. That’s what makes games dead. You could say a game is past it’s prime or you could say a game is not receiving updates or it’s in maintenance mode, but that’s clearly not the case with Guild Wars 2 either.
I dunno why people would actively want this game to be dead as well. I mean, I may hate some of the content that they’ve released, but as a B2P game, I still want it to be around for a long time and receive constant updates.
earnings report is out, GW2 is trending down in terms of US and EU, but contributing to royalties. Wildstar is out performing it, but not by much for a new release.
Personally i figured this would be the case, My perception is that the game essentially needs some big expansion like content (i mean new zones, modes, professions, weapons) to revitalize the NA/EU market, there is only so long most people can play the same stuff.
As for the the number 7 stat, its good that people are still engaged enough to log in once a month, but that doesnt tell us much with a buy to play mmo. It would seem a different type of datapoint might be more relevant.
To be clear, GW2 is still doing adequately well in earnings, its still the number 3 earner for ncsoft. Its just that it is getting closer to the lower earners, blade and soul and aion.
This.
Whenever a new patch is deployed it’s also likely that people go online to check it out only to go offline for the rest of the month 5 min after.
Or people just doing their dailies. Not that it’s a bad thing – it’s what B2P appeal is anyway. Is it profitable enough to keep the game running and updated as frequently for more years to come? Remains to be seen.
OT: is this the same Vayne that posted a good bye thread about him moving to reddit?
Yep I’m the same Vayne. A few people, including some people who don’t agree with anything I say, asked me to come back, so I did. But the break was really really nice. It was a good month off. lol
LOL welcome back. The forum just ain’t that fun without people like you to disagree with :p

Am I misunderstanding something? Don’t you have to be physically in the tournament as well for a chance to win and get the reward?
Yes,
Also travel, sponsorship, and real world money obligations. People that say “skill based” and “git gud and climb the ranks” are trolls that really have no idea what they are talking about. Anet isn’t paying for these people to fly to all these countries. This armor will be out of reach for 99.99% of players no matter how hard you pvp at home.
That being said. I am sure that its the same armor everyone will be able to earn on the track but with some kind of effect or trim added to it, and you will probably never see these people in game. I don’t think Anet would expense the resources to make a totally different armor for such a small small fraction of their audience, but I guess we will see.
I really hope they plan to add a in-game tournament system and a leaderboard that actually measures something.
Yea. I thought 1% was a little too generous of the OP. It’s organized, sponsored e-sports-participants-exclusive, not just elite PvP players in general. I don’t mind though, but some of the responses and analogies seem to be a little misinformed.
(edited by Leo Paul.1659)

I have stacks and stacks of spare ascended mats lying around, that I have no choice but to delete the rest that I get or I will run out of space.
I just want the option to threaten him or some smart gibe to make sure he knows I’m on to him and will cut him down if he tries anything funny.
I noticed it the first time. I don’t really think it meant anything other than be pretty.
