Where can I find these now and how do I test rune bonuses in pvp now? Do I just unequip that armor or something?
I’ll add some more details later, but I’d avoid the gear choices that Brazil lays out, since I feel that Assassin’s pigeon-holes you a bit too much (and I disagree with his 6/2 build, which is the main reason he recommends assassin). Berserker is still fine as long as have you have a minimum of 4 points in dueling.
If you want the best, cheap DPS rune: get Ranger. 1.25 gp on the TP right now, and these are almost as good (or better than??) even the old reliables like Scholar. The 7% damage works with phantasms and illusions now, and you’ll almost always have at least one of those up.
Does rune of the ranger work with illusions? If it does I’m totally switching to it from Rune of the Pack
Yes, it works with illusions.
Is it perhaps a bug? Or intentional? The wiki seems to be outdated because it excludes illusions from proc’ing the 6th bonus.

Seems like the prices of legendaries are dropping slightly?
Yea legendaries’ price are just out of control these days..
How much healing does 1k healing power add anyway?
This depends on the healing skill. Different skills have different coefficients.
and if I interrupt 2 enemies do I get 2k healing?
No. This bonus stacks in no way whatsoever.
That sucks so much The boons on shatters sound good but it’s in chaos..
Me too I noticed they have multiplied.. I wonder why they’re being so active recently.

I really liked how I had a different set of weapons in pvp.. I find it kinda inconvenient that I have to carry weapons that I normally wouldn’t use in pve just so I have them when I wanna play some matches.
If they do add new legendaries for existing weapons, maybe they should have another perk, like allowing for dyeable weapons instead of changing stats. :/ So they can have some synergy with the old ones and a purpose for the new wardrobe system?
Is traveler better than pack for pve?
D: I want my unpredictable mesmer too… I mindfully choose my answers to NPCS just to maintain that personality. I like the faces icon.
Nobody wants to have the current skins we have for legendary sold on the gem store.. I’m saying i think it’s redundant to have another set of legendary skins for existing weapons (like a red Bolt or something) that would have to be crafted with different mats introduced since we can already craft the ones that allow us to change stats. I’m saying anet should just give us skins that have particle effects instead of prec+gifts requirements that in the end, is only good for the skin.
Yea I do melee a lot, it’s just that I didn’t know most mesmers now wear both swords on swaps.
Not legendary skins per se, just not making any more legendary versions of the current weapons we have that require the same method of crafting and instead focusing on skins from black lion chests that have as much particle effects.
If they do introduce new weapon types, then sure, make legendary versions of them as well (just so the option of being able to change stats is available), but for now, I feel like the ones we have are sufficient.
hmm I haven’t played for a long time that I didn’t know that the current meta for pve mesmer is full melee… I still use GS/Sword+Focus for everything..
With ascended equipments becoming more accessible to the average player, what’s the point of making more legendary skins? The only thing it offers is the stat change, and that’s already available with the current set.. Imho, new ones would just seem redundant, particularly when the recent weapon skins are pretty decent themselves.
I for one think they should just sell more expensive weapon skins that have auras or footprints and abandon the current system of acquiring legendaries for future weapons.
Yea a couple of posts up and u’ll see I have the same issue. It’s most apparent for me when I run CM
Aside from power block, are any of the other new grandmaster traits worth taking now?
I’ve been using the new Illusions GM trait that gives torment, and I LOVE it.
Do you think it’s worth taking over Ipersona?
Do you think Anet should release new craft-able legendary weapons or just sell weapon skins with particle effects on the gem store?
I need help with my current GS/Sword+Focus, phantasm mesmer with restorative mantra build… 4 (III,X)/4(II,VI)/0/6(IV,VIII,X)/0
I dunno which runes/sigils to use.. Currently my equips are: zerker backpiece and armor, cavalier trinkets, and legendary weapons (i dunno which stats to use)… any suggestions? Current runes are scholar, sigils are fire/accuracy for GS and fire/perception for S+F

As a phantasm mesmer, will Pack be better for me if I have cavalier accessories, berserker armor, and legendary weapons (i dunno which stats to take, can be cavalier or zerk) than scholar or strength?
I’m so glad I got the Wings and Feathers of Dwayna in PVP before the patch…
A backpiece that doesn’t clip with TA light helm when in combat.

I got mine earlier today.. Patience my fellow gamers!
I thought they fixed the bug with the warden not attacking its target? My warden still sometimes does nothing after being summoned.
I really really don’t like how they’re practically forcing people to play modes they normally wouldn’t because of the daily… I thought they changed they dailies before to avoid this particularly? Why the change of heart?
I’m actually playing more, having taken quite a long break from the game. I still find myself bored most of the time, but I am enjoying relearning and adapting to the changes implemented with this patch…
Hahaha yea… I wish my character was a necro though.. Unfortunately she’s a mesmer. :/
My character cosplaying as…
OMG yes pls… I want pink hair steaks/highlights for my mesmer
No, they’re much smaller
The minis are too small!
D: I like the avian minis and all but they’re just too kitten small. they look like a dot. Anet, is there by any chance that you can make them fly even while stationary?
<3 oh man avian minis!!! perfect for my character Mockingbird <3
I’ll buy it if it also allows me to summon 2 mistfire wolves at the same time! :O
My account is already digital deluxe, but why can I still buy it? What do I get if I do?
I wish the mask had its own full armor to go with it.. I really like it but I dunno what set I’d pair it with for my mesmer + dwayna’s backpiece.
Will our existing traits remain the same after the patch? Hopefully Anet reworks most of them coz if they’re just adding those I feel like they’re a bit underwhelming.
I just hope that they don’t force us to do wvw if we wanna unlock things in pve or pvp.. I seriously can’t stand to play wvw anymore
Except for the fancy title and icon and the useless teleport to friend, everything that’s mentioned in the vip benefits you can already buy from the Gem Store. I mean, no one complains that you can buy instant bank access, or orb revivers, or character slots, or bag slots, or xp boosters, or etc… but when they are all thrown together sudenly kittenstorm breaks loose.
Not sure how much VIP status would cost, but i assume wouldn’t be alot cheaper than if you were to buy all those benefits individually from the Gem Store.
How is it any different from the “True P2W” screenie u posted?
That’s not too different from what GW2 VIP offers tbh.. http://imgur.com/a/k9GA4#3

This would be over if people play games like Marvel Avengers Alliance or Perfect World or C9, where people can technically can acquire store currency/equipment as loot or via conversion, but is still very much p2w because of how big the disparity can become between those who spend and those who don’t.
I understand what Smooth Penguin is saying, but the model he is describing is a very old, and frankly, quite antiquated concept of P2W. Even Urban Dictionary defines P2W now as:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pay-to-win
Games that let you buy better gear or allow you to make better items then everyone else at a faster rate and then makes the game largely unbalanced even for people who have skill in the game without paying.
…notice that exclusivity of items requiring money IRL is excluded.
One of the perks that people who “pay to win” nowadays lies on the time value of money, allowing them to take advantage of ingame economy via inflation or interest to get the best equips in the game faster than those who don’t. The thing with GW2 China though is, that the time:money ratio isn’t very large, and so it remains largely acceptable, but RL money gets you an advantage nevertheless. This is of course just based on what we know now in GW2+speculations.

Meh this isn’t an issue I’m particularly passionate about since the games that are available here locally ARE p2w (an advantage).. I don’t mind if they NEVER understand. It’s must be a cultural thing or something.
I don’t get where they’re getting the idea that if it can be bought with ingame currency, then it isn’t P2W. Try arguing that with a game like perfect world where you’ll see that GW2’s model is no different. What resource are you gonna use to gain that ingame currency in the first place anyway? Yep – time. And to bypass that restriction, you use IRL cash. You pay to win an advantage. Simple.
What is surprising though is how appalled some people are with the concept although I’m aware how some p2w models are just grossly exploitative.

You can’t seem to accept the idea of using “money to save time.”
You missed the part where it says “technically, you can grind”. Ninja edited by me.
BTW, this is just to back the idea up of time-rich vs money-rich.
All of the games I’ve played prior to GW2 are all asian mmo’s, where paying to gain an advantage is the norm, and yes that includes saving yourself from the torment of having to do things the long way. Some pay-to-win (or gain an advantage) models are more acceptable than others, and in fact, I’m not opposed to the chinese GW2’s system at all, since I’m one who is willing to dish out cash for convenience.

Read again:
Technically, you can grind your way to a superstar team in FIFA UT, but if you want to be competitive straight away (and who doesn’t?) then you need the right tools. In that sense, FIFA Ultimate Team really is a prime example of the pay-to-win model. Yes, you can spend hours getting humiliated by your opponents to scrape together the cash for a decent midfielder, or you could drop real money to save time and torment.
Pay to win = pay to get an advantage, regardless if it’s just saving time imho.
While it’s true that your own opinion is formed on the matter, the industry standard for the term “P2W” is “paying real money to win”. Saving time does not equal winning.
What is the industry standard? Coz I can also quote stuff.
http://www.gamesradar.com/free-play-still-pay-win/
“Basically, whenever a game offers significant advantages for paying money, it becomes pay-to-win. No, you don’t actually pay to win, but you do stack the odds significantly in your favour.”
Like many other players, Dave uses money to save time. “I started buying packs on FUT for a variety of reasons—firstly, I’m a gamer and have a deep rooted compulsion to explore every mode in a game I buy. Secondly I’m a football fanatic. Thirdly, it’s because I hate losing…” admits Dave.

When money provides an objectively better experience when playing, meaning that if the purchasable content creates a noticeable distinction between the haves and the have-nots.
“Better Experience” includes in game advantages, stronger in game gear or anything that makes the paying players stand above the free players.
this category also includes spending money for in game advantages or an “elite status.” This can be tricky to define but we can say that anything that provides a noticeable difference in how the game is played can be applied here.
Such as saying that anyone with an elite status gets all their equipment repaired for free, while free players will have to constantly spend in game resources.
