I’d like an Elite skill that spawns a Giant illusionary butterfly that fly’s into air and has a big old whirl wind of small butterflies aoe attack! Because lets face it, Mesmer’s need more butterflies!
Just imagine it, casting it on top of a keep in WvW, watching it high up in the sky just launch a billion tiny illusionary butterflies in a whirlwind so that enemies cant see anything and get damaged at the same time… oooh the dream!

Under that rational I want all legendary weapons sent to me because I paid just as much for the game but don’t have the time to play 24/7 for them.
If you want the one-time rewards, then log in when they are available. If you’re unable to, then you don’t get them.

Here is a quick example of the delay making the iBerserker quite useless. One method of pulling I use is to summon iBerserker on the target(s) and shatter after the initial attack. The mobs kill the phantasm before it can even attack. Now imagine in PvP and WvW what AOEs from players would do. The phantasms never have a chance with a delay.

A no cd autoattack, which, combined with 6s of quickness (QZ + pet swap), did an absurd amount of dps (both direct and condition).
And yet still less then any other class could output in that time. You do know there are 7 other classes in this game right?

It could be worse, the people behind balance changes could be leading the Pact against Zhaitan.
If that was the case we would currently be invading Divinitys reach using pies as weapons.
Well the delay has been confirmed as intentional so even if the the damage comes back the weapon will still be useless.
RIP Mesmer, you were a fun class till the pvp whiners killed you.
Fyi, the delay on first attack has been present since BWE2. It is there for balance reasons to give enemies a moment to react to the powerful summon.
That is just poor balancing. In PvE and WvWvW it is getting killed before it can attack and in all modes it is just giving enemies two chances to stop the attack when all other classes don’t have to jump through those hoops to attack.
If you want the delay to give people a chance to avoid the attack then you can’t give them a chance to avoid the summon, however that works.
Also any news on if you plan on giving Mesmers a decent AoE to throw up on keep walls like all other classes?
I feel your pain guys. I have a Ranger and a Mesmer, so you can imagine how it feels to be a ‘master-of-none’ Ranger and a ‘nerfed-till-broken’ Mesmer

Yep been looking at other boards on this forum and it looks like people still think Mesmers are top tier/OP, so even after these patches have turned us into a bug filled wet napkin of a class we can still expect even more nerfs.
I suppose we can’t blame Anet 100%. How would they know that their community would react so negativity to the idea of having to use your brain in PvP combat. Still it would be nice if they didn’t base balancing around PvP whiners or you know at least tested the changes first.
It is probably a mixture of a gear treadmill being added and poorly thought out class ‘balances’ with no testing done so they end up introducing even more bugs to the list that already started out pretty big back at launch.

Since launch Mesmers have had nothing but nerfs and massive bugs introduced. They are in a horribly broken state right now and Phantasms aren’t worth the button press.
Unfortunately the developers seem intent on GS being a defensive weapon even though it is completely outclassed by Sword/Dagger and even SB, both capable of putting out much more damage too. So I don’t think it will ever be worth using outside of extreme downleveling in low level areas for fun.

No, that’s correct. When Thieves steal from Warriors they gain an ability called Whirling Axe.
Thieves actually use steal?
A teleport that performed during other actions without interrupting the action or while disabled and with traits can apply poision, deal up to 5k damage, grant stealth, grants you and all nearby allies vigor for 15 seconds and steal two boons that are granted to nearby allies, dazes gives nearby allies gain fury, might and swiftness for 10 seconds and doesn’t need to actually hit to do most of this? Yeah probably.
If they are not, can my Ranger have it? The ability to provide 10 stacks of vuln isn’t really cutting it.
I’m pretty sure at this point we don’t have a single thing that works. So just spend your trait points for the stat bonuses.

The PvPrs recognised phantasm builds got nerfed to oblivion weeks ago. They’ve been petitioning to get shatter damage reduced.
Man I called that after the first phantasm nerf and nobody believed me.

Came to post the delay bug.
Every single patch they push us further and further away from phantasms. Can they just remove them already and replace them with some skills that are useful? They are quite frankly broken now and it has taken the class with them.
Or are only Warriors and Thieves allowed to be good?
This was definetly the bug that needed fixing the most.
Karka, F2 is their machine gun ability of course, would be nice to have a projectile on the Ranger that can hit.
It was always useless outside of trolling people. If you got moa’d then died you were either going to die anyway or for some reason you forgot you can run away.
Now all it does is give the enemy an environmental weapon.
I would have preferred they just removed it and gave us a useful elite. Since nothing is going to beat Time Warp/MI for group support then maybe a nice general purpose elite to help out Mesmers in PvE like Warriors Signet of Rage, especially as we don’t even have a utility that can fit that description. Either that or some clever/interesting elite based around clones/phantasms.
Nope, still useless. Fortunately it is still just enough damage to tag in zerg farming, you know if it can get to the target before it dies.

Ranger is the most useless class in the game, yes even after the crippling nerfs/bugs introduced to Mesmer thats how bad Ranger is, so I don’t know why you brought them up.
lol @ unload and illusionary duelist not being the same skill. The only difference is that you can kill the Mesmers version before it finishes. Apparently that wasn’t enough and it now has to be completely removed with a spamable condition.
Out of interest does anybody know if being blinded now also stops minions/turrets/spirit weapons/elementals from being spawned? I mean if it is balanced to allow something so integral to the Mesmer class that we have to use them to do basic things (like leaps and small team buffs) to get so easily negated then surly it must also be balanced to also completely destroy these optional specs for the other classes.
Yeah I hope it just gets boosted up to ascended level. Big Zelda fan so I really want it and it practically requires the same effort for current ascended gear anyway.
Same with the exotics skins from the Mystic forge.
Mesmers are being treated the same as the other classes. Phantasms are not AoE abilities, they are single target skills of which two will do AoE damage as a bonus. If a player dodges/blocks/blinds your attack, it is completely unreasonable that a phantasm would spawn to continue attacking the player unless they kill it. They prevented the attack, why should they still have to deal with consequences as if the attack landed? When I dodge a skill from another class, I don’t expect to just avoid the first part of the damage, I expect to avoid the entire attack (and I do), so should it be with Mesmers.
You didn’t dodge the attack, you dodged randomly for no reason while a character was summoning something. You want to dodge the attack, wait until the attack is being preformed. It makes about as much sense as dodging a Warrior and expecting his Theif friend to miss his attack. Mesmer’s shouldn’t be punished for player’s lack of skill, that makes no sense.
Can a single blind can stop an entire hundred blades, flurry, whirling axe or pistol whip? Can dodging out of the way of Warrior Banners stop them from appearing? Can you stop a Guardian from putting one its symbols down by applying Aegis to yourself?
This is the only class in the game where our spells/attacks can be killed, after this patch we have 0 benefits to make up for this major weakness. It changes Mesmer from a unique and interesting mechanic to different for the sake of being different.
My question is, what the heck are all the NPC’s we met in the story for then? How is this supposed to feel like the culmination of MY PERSONAL story if I need to find 4 random people to do it with? It just doesn’t make sense…… The NPC’s should be my backup and my team. Not to mention, the ending can be completely ruined by these now 4 random elements….

I honestly don’t understand all these complaints about the nerfs being “out of hand” for Mesmer players.
I also play Mesmer, and I find this perfectly okay. When another class misses a skill because of obstructed, blind, etc., it’s placed on CD. Why do you think Mesmers shouldn’t follow this game rule? It seems more like a bug fix to me. The fact that players are seriously quitting the game because of this makes them seem extremely immature. This does nothing but put Mesmer in the same bracket as other classes. Mesmers aren’t now UP, kitten, etc. They’re still a very strong class, and far above other classes in terms of what they bring to the table.
It makes it annoying when sieging a base, I’ll give it that. But there are other classes who are terrible at this as well (Guardians, for example, are worse off than Mesmer in this regard).
Just because you now can’t do something else that no other class can doesn’t mean your class is now UP. That’s what balance is. There’s no reason for Mesmers to be able to completely ignore Obstructed, Blind, etc. on certain abilities.
Guardian’s smite is much better then anything we have for attacking keep walls and that is still bad so it tells you alot.
This change to Mesmer is not putting the Mesmer in the same level as other classes. You can’t block a Warriors Banner and stop it from coming out, the Rangers pet doesn’t go on cooldown if you blind the Ranger, you can’t run behind a rock to stop the Necro from entering Death shroud, you can’t stop Guardians from using Virtues by dodging and you can’t stop Engineers from calling in turrets by throwing up a reflect.
If they want to keep this change then they will have to untie almost everything we can do from phantasms or in other words a complete rework of the class.
Once again an Asura is the main character. I wonder if they regret putting humans in the game.
Illusionary Persona or Restorative Mantras here, iPersona is awesome because with the heal on shatter trait, I can heal without illusions up for burst healing
How much does that heal on shatter normally heal for?
Not only do they work on shatters but if you put it in a one hand weapon it will work on an attack from another weapon too. For example on my Warrior I use Sword/Axe, my axe had a sigil of air on it but I would often proc it using my auto attack.
I don’t think clones/phantasms proc them though.
If the berserker ‘fix’ was right then they need to either buff GS 3 with a bigger area and more damage/multi hit so we can carry on attacking walls like everybody else or stop all the ground targeted aoes from being cast up on walls/through doors.
Presuming Berserker ever gets fixed, I will eventually go for this.

There is no power-creep. They have stated what is, and what will be. If you are not satisfied with the transparency then that is 100% your issue, as many, many, others are satisfied with the AMA.
How is there no power creep? They are adding gear with higher stats in it. They have also said better infusions wold be coming. If you look at it the game was quite obviously made with exotics to be the highest level and even then the downscaling can barely keep up with level 80s in exotics and will do nothing to level 80s in ascended coming back to Orr or frostgorge.
Also look at Ranger’s Pets, they were given stats based around the role they were supposed to fill in an exotic gear level but they don’t scale and so will get no benefit from ascended gear, meaning they will do less damage in comparison to other classes, and take more. So not only do we have power creep but we have a power creep that is leaving at least one class behind.

Ascended has much better stats then exotic + upgrade and can only slot infusions (which give + stats other then agony resist).
