It doesnt bug them. They simply cant see you. Its like calling LoS an exploit. Or running out of range of a rooted boss to regen your hp.

They do see you. You glitch them by teleporting the whole group at the same time, and so make them lose track of their targets. If one doesn’t get the portal, i.e. only four at the safe spot, they will target that ‘safe spot’ immediately and wreck everyone. Tried and true.

One time we were all on the spot but Cla missed the portal and he was running from all of the cannons himself. No. We weren’t targeted until cannon phase was over and horrik blessed us with his cannon of fire.

I’m struggling to believe it. I’m sorry. But people barely got answers a week after the patch hit and you’re saying they granted this request (and not to mention you have this email, rather than just a screen shot, of someone else’s ticket) without asking their supervisor or making sure sending an unbound legendary to a player for no really good reason was a good idea in one day? More likely less than 24 hours?

To whomever played support in this manner (if it’s true) I applaud them. But it is quite obvious why this exchange is not something they should have granted at all to anyone.

I like frost bow, arcane shield, mist form, lightning flash, lightning hammer, and signet of air and signet of fire. Those are the utilities I first grab for easy movement through higher level zones and killing mobs. For leveling an ele I recommend dagger focus, and switch to staff if you’re in a zone you don’t feel comfortable meleeing. Most skills have their purpose though so you will eventually want to catch em all.

When talking about unused utilities, it’s always Racial skills, which are weaker than profession skills.

Not in my books. A PvE perspective, since I don’t do any PvP and very little WvW. I play all professions, but mostly Guardian and Elementalist, so I’ll focus on what annoys me the most:

Guardian

• Spirit weapons (SotA gets some usage) see almost no use. I can go hundreds of hours in-game between seeing one spirit Hammer or Bow to the next. They used to be stronger, but got nerfed hard. They’re much too weak now, despite a plethora of traits for them. I see three almost useless utility skills right there.

Elementalist

• Summoned Axe and Shield. Just like Guardians spirit weapons, except I don’t think they were ever strong. Never use them after trying to find a valid role for them but Cantrips and Arcane are just too vital. I saw a summoned Axe lately, and it could have been the only one I’ve seen since about this time last year.

• Signets are pretty weak for Ele, compared to others signets. Their passives are ok, but their actives are woeful. I concede that in PvP they might be more useful, but for PvE the actives are awful.

…I use my earth shield for Mai Trin everytime. Please don’t take my infinite blocks and nice invuln away from me.

It’ll probably be based on the highest points will be awarded to a full run of “Ascalon + Cliffside + Grawl + Mai” and the lowest points be awarded to a full run of “swamp + harpy? + aetherblade + molten”. (These are my guesstimations on easiest and longest fractals). So there might be some range.

Kicking pugs at end bosses is crappy. Especially in fractals. If they’re really bad players, you know this by the first boss of the first fractal, sometimes before, so you should kick then then. If I have a pug being a kitten to me, no matter when, if it’s my instance and my party and it is disrupting the run they will be kicked, whether it’s in swamp or right at the second phase of jade maw.

Kicking is something that is often misunderstood as griefing. If you’re consistently getting kicked from parties you might want to look at yourself before laying the blame on others. My 2 coppers.

Sometimes it doesn’t show up till the end for example:

I was doing Arah P2 with a guildy we both got to last boss, no probs. Our group was failing at skip (even boat) so he and I try to duo. He goes in dies at about 45% HP left to the random 9k aoe then I as a ranger try to solo the rest (I cant cuz of the kitten ed pet). Then our pugs FINALLY get there and the first one says out of no where he says “oh great this f****t ranger started to kill the boss” I vote to kick and my other guildy (we only had two pugs) seconds, then our other pug got upset because we kicked this guy at last boss and that makes us one of those scumbag guilds and promptly left. Being an kitten is NOT okay. PERIOD. Some people really need to learn that.

But like I said, if a pugs being a kitten, he’s going to be kicked. Doesn’t matter how much of the path they think they’ve “carried” me through (ever notice that this is almost ALWAYS the case in these threads? Lol). If they are going to be rude and disrupt a run, I won’t tolerate it. I play how I want.

LOL thanks! I was surprised my guildies didnt want to kick them and find two more pugs, but it was still funny.

As a side note, unrelated to my original post, we set an advertising up for a dungeon run and explicitly said 80s only. Had three people rage at us when we kicked them after they joined us, all <40; I pmed each and every one asking them to go reread our adverising more carefully.

To be honest, because I like the art part so much, I go to Fan Gen whenever it is no longer greyed out. As a result I get exposed to tons of the other stuff on there. If it were to be split, I think the other things on there would garner even less exposure. That’s just my opinion though.

This is really great to see! I’ve been trying to actively recruit mentors in game, by holding little buff parties with banners and bonfires, but it hasn’t been as effective as the reddit exposure or the forum post. I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make in game recruitment attempts better, so we can attract more than just the forum community to it as mentors.

Well, I don’t think it’s an insult exactly, but what I’ve said before and I’ll say again is that I’ve met several [Ren] members in pugs and I am always impressed by them. They have always been kind, polite, and entirely BA players with great attitudes.

I do have to say though that there is this terrible tendency for new engineers to use FT for the “cool” factor while completely negating their DPS potential. That’s been my experience with the few others that play engi, at least.

Eh, I ran torch on my guard because the animations were cute. I understand the FT love. But no really, Nevets, I’ve never experienced a pug engi of your caliber.

Your Norn demonstrated a lovely use of the Strider armor. The colors also went well together. Your Charr was amazingly cooky looking. I loved the use of the inventor’s glasses. Your Sylvari may have been just a little too green for my personal preference (Ew! Kale!) But I love the eye patch. Human females are easy, but yours did very nicely with a great combination of darkness and elegance. I found your Asura fashion lacking, and while I love the helm and the boots, I feel the combination just doesn’t mesh as well as it ought to.

Hufflepuff

Your Sylvari is delightfully creepy as hell. Great choices. Your Asura has a bad taste in helms, but else the colors and gear look decent. I would say, though, that the shoulders do not match the rest as much as I would think it should. But still cute. I’m in love with this Charr. The Inventor’s glasses are again an amazing choice for Charr and his armor combination remarkable. Your human female…. Eh. I hate the Inquest chest piece, and I feel like the glasses are there to make her look smart. Good color choices, but ultimately unremarkable. The Norn female looks like she may just kill me. I love it, but hate it when I can’t see a Norn’s face. She is very BA but I feel like a lot of her beauty might be lost being covered by the Visage of Koda.

Slytherin

I love your Norn female. I love the combination and everything about her. Your human female…. I didn’t know CoE chest was in vogue, but it SHOULDN’T be. I do like her colors however. Your Asura steals my heart away. I love the Mohawk and the green and the adorableness. Yay Asura! Your Charr’s Mohawk is amazing but I’m confused as to why he needs an air filtration device! That’s okay though. Your Sylvari looks like a blue tree guardian and I find him nice. This team loses points for not including a summary sheet on what armors they are wearing. However, I feel the fashion is amazing.

Gryffindor

Ah… Style time. Of course the Norn female is full of win (Perhaps Norn Female new meta?). Her Dyes and daggers and everything is beautiful. The Asura, I love her. The pink goes well. I think these two characters might make up for the disturbing lack of screens. This human female succeeds in being very princess-y, and I appreciate that, but she is so Barbie, I almost want to cry. She’s very pretty though, and I like the use of the Masquerade leggings even if I disapprove of their existence. The top hat Charr is purrfect, of course, and there’s not much more to say about him. Your Sylvari (which you left out of the armor descriptions) from afar looks decent but there really wasn’t a good enough screen of her.
