The problem with putting ascended gear in fractals is that you need asc to do fractals in the first place. Sure, you could spend ages grinding the T1 fractals in exotic and get your asc this way before proceeding in higher tiers, but that’s more work than maxing your crafts.
Now compare that to the completely free pvp asc gear.
Well go pvp then.
And if you farm that much to be able to buy those boxes chances are you got enough boxes to kit out your char anyway.
Havent crafted a single set and got heavy medium and light done + a couple of helm, boot boxes to spare.
Would be good to know if your na or eu aswell.
So none hot players cant get the new stat combos

What I find funny is that some people think that a AAA game such as this that focuses and exploration and diversity wouldn’t add a new race. Yes guys I’m sorry but eventually they will. This game has finally found its format for creating and delivering content. The only thing they are missing is a deep focus on lore and storytelling. The addition of a new race allows developers to focus on lore expansion and story development. I’m sure that most developers in Anet have realized that what the game lacks now is lore and depth. Not only that but we will be going to new continents with different races, and you think they won’t include them into the game??? This isn’t like gw1 that you only played one race. This game needs this. It will happen. No matter what you guys think. Eventually it will come.

Its a high probability. When i make those posts its towards people who are adamant on a definite “NO”. Which is wrong. I am speaking in terms of probability. Hell they were even considering it in their first Xpac, which was rather small and heavily rushed. Therefore, you honestly believe that it WONT happen at all for a future PLANNED Xpac? Yea right! I never said “NO” and I never said “won’t” personally, I said I’d rather see new content, which in my mind is maps, story and lore. Of course a new race is possible maybe even probable, but I will say it isn’t likely for a while, maybe until all the elder dragons are defeated.
Well if you read the edited comment i made to the thread, youll see what a new race indicates. I’m glad you stated maps, story, and lore. Adding a new race requires a deep focus on all three. I have stated this throughout this thread repeatedly. This game needs to expand lore and add depth to their story. An Xpac that offers a new race would require a strong dedication on maps, lore, and especially story. Anyways, I dont think it will be on this Xpac, maybe on the fourth one….if we’re lucky, the third.
Yes but they can add all 3 without having to add a new race at all.
All this does is unfairly punish newer players by giving them even smaller chances of getting exciting loot off mobs. This is not a good solution.
Oh, you’re right. Maybe add (HIDDEN) “new player bonus” to MF so that everybody is happy. They’re already doing something similar with rewarding returning players with exotic item drops.
Furthermore, continuing to increase the cap as soon as people hit it begs the question of why even bother having a cap in the first place. If Anet didn’t want to cap MF then it wouldn’t have been capped period
This is just the key point: magic find is useless. You don’t know the base value or the code how drops are determined. Reason why we have magic find is because it affects behavior of some people. They look at numbers and feel good about themselves when they repeatedly kill mobs. Maybe cap is there to get some kind of rush when you’ve “maxed” a stat.
Whats this about awarding returning players with exotic drops havent seen any and pretty sure its just lucky rng.

I would run fractals instead of cof to gain some loot for your time invested
Outgoing damage : these affect the ability of the victim to deal damage. They only stack duration and rely on expertise only.
Blind : next attack misses
Clumsiness : next attack has 50% chance to deal half damage
Distraction : condis applied have 50% chance to be self-applied
If you want to mirror condi and direct damage like you have for almost all the other sub groups then clumsiness would deal half damage to the one dealing the blow.
Your “shoehorn a race” into the game isn’t what people want from a new race. No matter how you state it or how you portray it.

For one, your “shoehorn a race” argument might seem reasonable to some but from my perspective, you’re just being unreasonably picky. For two, you’re specifically picking out the suggestions you don’t agree with while offering nothing to replace it. For three, I don’t even think all the checkpoints you list off are even wanted by the majority and you only want it there to specifically sabotage the implementation of a new race.
Would it be nice to have a “like the original” Personal Story? Sure. How many people actually liked the majority of the PS? Not just the 1st chapter, but going through the orders, making the pact and following Trahern’s lead…How many people like the changes they made to the PS? How many players go out of their way to replay the PS on all their new characters? While I do enjoy the PS on my characters, up to a point, after you go through it once then explore some of the branching options, I don’t tend to go through most of it after that. Even with there being the PS for a new race, it’s still not a big deal (I’m certain it wouldn’t take that long to create…just about 3 Living World updates worth of missions should do it). Regardless of how much effort and time it would take to make a new race’s PS, I’m not dead set that it MUST exist just like it has for every race prior. It can be changed, it can be updated in pieces, it could coincide with living world updates, it could be something completely different. Encouraging Anet to create something polished and unique is good, but suggesting they must follow a stringent formula even if that formula is lined with hiccups and mistakes is not.
I wonder how many people would be willing to wait 6-10 months after expansion hit to finish their personal story tho

I don’t understand how you think AFK farmers are getting more materials then people playing the game actively. If there were an AFK farmer they wouldn’t get events, they’ll most likely just die and be dead for hours, or they’re getting drops from two mobs re spawning. If you disagree, then you’ll just have to be more specific with what you’re seeing people do. There’s no way in hell someone AFK letting their pet or minions kill things is getting a massive amount of leather.
Your market trends don’t mean anything, and you ignore any possibility that other things are being factored in because people are just trying to be smart. Selling hardened leather you have stored up gets you a ton of money, and people may be trying to buy something else they need with the gold. Then the new maps also give you the items you can salvage for leather for almost every event.
So I don’t know what kind of AFK farmers you are witnessing, but I only see AFK people dead or on a rock so that mobs can’t aggro on to them.
Lastly I have 2,000 material storage. I have no idea what others have, but injecting that much into the TP isn’t a surprise with how many veteran players there are.

AFK farming is a thing, I wont educate you on that. Look it up at the forums. But still I never said I’m 100% sure about it. All I said was I cant logically come to any other conclusion. The reason I’m here is that I dont think I’m all knowing so I rather ask just to be sure…

What the hell does hardened leather and the money you get from selling them come here? :O I also dont get how people ‘trying to buy something else’ has an effect on the issue… And the new maps are lvl80 maps, you dont get much low tier mats from there either, so this argument of yours is kind of weak too.
Havent been to lw s3 ember bay and bitterfrost fronter yet.
But bloodstone fen the lumps of salvage items you get there can drop any tier metal,leather and cloth.
Aint it like that in the other two maps aswell?

I think the syntecisers in wvw and guild halls help aswell getting random tier materials if you count in how many accounts that can do it daily.

With the new consume all option there is no reason for you to hoard essence of luck. Even if your maxed just right click it consume all and be on your merry way.

In my oppinion this is not something they need to waste time on.
The focus in fractals(and pretty much any other content except training golems) shouldn’t be on getting perfect dps buffs. 99% of the time having more dodges is better.
you won’t fail a fractal because you didn’t have that buff 100% of the time.
Although that’s true, it doesn’t change the reasons for the OP’s suggestion: they want full control over the buffs. That seems reasonable to me.
Of course, it’s unclear whether ANet will decide this should be prioritized over the gazillion other reasonable suggestions.

I’d be happy if it got just the following changes:
- A counter for how many items you can place down out of a clear total. As you get near it, it grows bigger and turns red, possibly starts flashing if you place down more siege. I’m tired of people who won’t listen to me in team chat continue to place down new crap even while the old, upgraded stuff is disappearing in front of their eyes. Replacing a mega cat with a regular one is a downgrade, why the kitten would anyone do that?
- Delete the objects with the lowest health first if you have surpassed the siege cap. Same as above, I’m tired of people just placing down dozens of new objects every round, and they end up deleting my upgraded snowmen, catapults, and few ice walls that are near full health instead of deleting (or, gasp upgrading) some first tier siege that is almost dead.
Making it harder could be fun, but honestly after the first few times I only do this for the daily when it comes up so I don’t mind it being easy. To me, its not worth my time unless the rewards were buffed.

And that can get you kicked since people trying to join your old map on you will get into wrong map if you dont go to lobby.

You can get your PvP backpack by having a ratio of 120 wins to 1200 losses in 5 seasons by absolving in nothing other than bronze.
You can get your dungeon Skins by PvP reward tracks or doing the easiest paths over and over again. You can ake a LFG yourself with “noobs welcome” and clear ARAH in 1,5 hours instead of a pro group in 30 min.
You can train yourself to fractals as it introduces you slowly to the difficulty of the content. AR is the only limit and it is just a lazy farm of infusions.
You can watch Walking Dead as you mindlessly zerg around in WvW to get badges of honor.LFG for raids atm :

Raids are less Toxic than dungeons were.
Those aren’t toxic posts those are people wanting experienced players to attempt a smooth run nothing more. You just looked at LFG outside of Primetime near the end of the week in most Timezones so the small amount of LFG is normal.
No they were not you could make play how you want all welcome group and clear dungeons, You cant do that with raids.
Just becouse people saw 1 war 1 mesmer 3 elem berserk food speed clear groups in dungeons dont make them toxic, just pop up your p3 and it would fill most likely faster.
Saw a t4 fractal group the other night that said something read Qtf builds only.
Put up t4 dailys and when I was done with my run the same 3 ppl was still looking for Qtf builds only.

Well since armor dont show up either I think its all spvp bought ascended that are affected at this moment
