I honestly don’t fear the expansion’s general quality as much. And the reason I’m more grumped than the Grinch around christmas is simply the fact that “New legendaries” was this big announcement that came hand in hand with Heart of Thorns’ first live reveal, paired with this big, cheeky grin from Colin. Imagine he had announced “Some new legendaries, and the rest come later.” With his “c:” like smirk.

I’ll just echo this statement. +1 to you sir.

I currently have 4 lvl 80 rangers. 3 for PvP builds condi/power/ another condi and my main ranger is majority PvE but I do have a power build set up on her for PvP.

I mostly did it for PvP and different races.

The thing is… pugs are so bad and unorganised already, you either compromise or step up your game, because you’ll recieve no support from your party. My favourite compromises would be to slot lightning reflexes, disable aa, equip dagger, equip greatsword, in this order. Keep in mind that giving up on warhorn (in a party with no fury) is a blow to overall damage, unless a random shoutheal warrior has fgj slotted. You could slap a moa in there, I guess.
Oh, you can interrupt sword aa with horn 4 and 5, by the way. Just get the timing down.
I see lb in pugs being useful only against bosses that you find really hard to melee. If I were you, I’d try to keep practicing melee, but I understand that for us not-uber-pro it can be a long and/or annoying process.
P.S. Don’t you dare camp longbow at shaman… they’re gonna need your axe.

Good advice, in my opinion keep the meta build. Change your weapons when you think it’s needed.

Just because it’s in the ToS doesn’t make it valid. I could make a ToS where I write that you have to agree to be my slave but that still wouldn’t be valid in any way.
If they took my money and didn’t give the service they owed it doesn’t matter what they put in their ToS, some countries have laws that protect the customer more than others. If they have anything that is operated in my country I wouldn’t be so pessimistic about the end results, France is not a country where you can take people’s money and act like you owe nothing.
Hell, the very concept of software EULA even in the US is quite often in debate, with some jurisdictions going against them, some supporting it :

No one should just outright submit to the things written in license agreements. It doesn’t work that way.

The issue is resolved though, the ban is lifted. Being vocal helps, I think, because I seriously doubt anything would’ve been done that fast if it didn’t start to pop up on reddit and the like.

Rangers are the go to profession for lazy people, of course the majority of rangers are bad because it’s the truth. People want to pew pew from afar and give 0 kittens about their team mates.

I have never been kicked for being a ranger in fractals and I do them quite often at the higher levels but then again I don’t join zerk only if you die you get kicked groups. Maybe that’s the problem….

I have been kicked for being a necro though.

Ranger is the most broken class in this game. After 2 years and half Anet hasn’ t fixed it.
My personal opinion is that they didn’ t put enough efforts to fix it.
So…I doubt they will add new pets for ranger couse they don’ t care about rangers and everyone knows it.
It’ s not stranger that in every point of interest episodes devs never use ranger…

There’s a point here. But i do like the idea of new pets!

Now I do about 160 fps on ultra high and about 60 fps in zergs.

thats basically why i dont play humans. I (personally) dont want to play a char that looks like he only just recently lost his braces and got permission of his parents to go out and kill dragons…but only till 10 cause tomorrow is school…and norn are too…norn for me (cant find my zen with that race…i really dunno why, by definition and style i should love em cause i usually love viking and nordic stuff). Heck my army of female charrs look unintentionally more manly then 90% of human males (what i find actually funny and i didnt even notice that i made a chick with my first and still main char). Though… i wont lie, id gladly make a human male…if there would be options to make a rugged, battle field shaped and “angry” or atleast experienced looking male. Something like this in the attachment would do it already for me. But back to the theme… not want to de-rail the topic too much

Wasn’t Wildstar geared toward hard-cores? Considering how few of them there are overall, why did anyone think that an MMO made mainly for them would be a good idea?

The vanilla WoW founders of Carbine felt their voice about hard core raiding was being ignored by Blizzard and left. They thought it was an underrepresented part of the MMO playerbase and would flock to an MMO that had it as a core feature.

Unfortunately they didn’t realise that what 80% of people who claimed to be hard core gamers liked was not hard core gaming, but telling everyone how the games they play are too easy. I do feel sorry for the genuine 20% though because it looks like Wildstar had a lot of great elements.

Wildstar had some amazing dungeons…amazing, difficult, timely and fun. The raiding system was hard as hell but also strategic, but the horrible grind to get to any of the group content was unbelievably painful, long, boring, and overall I think that ruined the game. It’s one of my favorite end games hands down even though I’ve only spent 4 months doing it, it was great. I feel such sadness hearing about how poorly they are doing. If they go under ANet should definitely hire some of their dungeon or raid designers, seriously.

14/19 need spear, scepter, trident, rifle, and pistol. Really sad I’ve been doing fractals daily since they were released (got to lvl 10 on the first day)… at least I got sword and dagger

Learning how to move in combat. (Played Guild Wars 1 where I fought in one spot in PvE. Skills could not be used while moving there).

I watched videos of the game before the betas and came back and told my guildies, “you run around like this while fighting!” (Runs in a circle while they stood and watched and tried to figure it out).

Now when I go back to Guild Wars 1, it’s hard to fight because the first thing I do is start to strafe, which breaks my skill animations.

I do the same thing when I play gw1 now, I’ve actually stopped playing my elementalist and ranger because they are so static, I much prefer my ritualist and warrior nowadays. I absolutely love moving in combat, so much fun!

And about the thread- I found combo fields and aoe buffs the most confusing in GW2, combo fields took forever for the community to understand them.

Perfectionists/ completionists need ascended gear, I don’t necessarily think it’s a grind. The way ascended gear is made you will never be able to instantly get them, you have to wait several days just to complete a set…

It’s a grind if you want variety either in builds, professions, accounts etc.

I usually say LFM must love Phil Collins… I have yet to get kicked or had a bad experience with any of my parties. Phil Collins lovers are the friendliest people in the game.

They already did, it was called the dredge fractal.

But OP, I love your suggestions! Nolani Academy is very fractal like. I also think Kodonur Crossroads would be a good fractal too. (Basically you hunt down key masters to unlock cages, once you get enough rescued people you go storm a garrison with tons of enemies and 2 bosses).

I would love to relive GW1 missions on GW2, it would add a lot of connection with the two games beside their names and similar lore.

Lol I love the amount of nub bearbow play being encouraged here. Rangers while fine in open world are a very bad choice. To play them effectively, which is something I hope you are looking for, Rangers are very tough and require you to swap weapons all the time, more so then ele.

Even though you’ve dismissed elementalists I suggest you give them another look. With staff they have the highest damage in game (which is ranged btw) on anything more than two targets and they provide a ton of group utility with staff alone like earth wall that prevents foes crossing it, lightning field to trap enemies, great heals and water fields and a constant fire field with lava font with which you can just give someone a lightning hammer in dungeons and let them give might to everyone.

As far as your reflexes are concerned, unless you have been debilitatingly injured I wouldn’t worry about being a few milliseconds slower then your younger peers.

I am missing fingers on my right hand and I can dodge better then the majority of the population! I agree with everything you say by the way, ranger is absolutely harder than ele considering all the timing and effort that goes into playing a ranger. Although I don’t ever support bear bows, I can see why it’s such a viable option for casual players to play. If strictly open world or wvw I don’t see any issue going full pvt bear-bow…

And btw names are game wide so there is absolutely 0 point in switching servers to get your name. For instance i am the only Sunset in game. Not just my server or NA servers…the entire game.

This looks like the profession for me, I’m super excited to see this profession when the expansion goes live, it might be my new main…but ya know necros with greatswords who can resist that.
