I’m pretty sure SoS and JQ hate each other (on the battlefield and maybe forums), so any 2v1 is probably coincidental, and it probably happens a lot of the time to any server. SM seems a pretty big target, ofc the peasants are going to try to take down the king of the hill. The peasants, in this case, being the servers that don’t own the castle obviously.

If they did this, they could remove the 50 WvW kills from what would officially be the PvE monthly if they implemented a WvW monthly. A WvW daily and monthly would be great.

Pretty fun fights at Godslore with BG on JQ BL. Going back and forth to take Godslore and defend Gari kept us busy. Then taking back the bay keep with SoS hot on our tails, which fortunately for us, didn’t take it. BG came right back in though and took it back from us. All 3 servers fighting outside of southern bay gate was probably the most interesting part during the time I was playing. Epic fights all around the JQ BL last night.

This will be a VERY interesting week. GL everyone! Gotta get my necro to 80 because they seem like they would be fun in WvW.

He is referring to the class act from AGG members whispering and sending harassing messages to the popular Korean guild War Machine (edit) on SBI in game. WM had enough of being trolled and attacked personally in such a matter that they decided to transfer to a lower pop server to escape this type of trash. Of course the entire SoS community sat back applauding and supporting this behavior.

I’m going to assume that this isn’t completely true, but if it is, that’s pretty sad. If it is true, SoS needs to have better sportsmanship conduct, being #1 and all. Geez, I don’t recall other Tier 1 servers causing this much angst. Good job SoS?

A lot of the mystic forge uniques look better than the legendarys. Most of the Mists themed weapons (the ones that require 250 ecto) look pretty awesome. There’s quite a few focus skins that look good as well from the forge.

I’m hoping the infusion recipe for the rings, since it seemed to be added at a later date, are the direction they’re going with this crap. To upgrade a ring, you need the ring, 1 shard of crystallized mist, 3 globs of coagulated mists, 5 vials of condensed mists. They should of just made the non-cosmetic backpieces like that as well.

Most of the legendaries look like crap. I don’t even like the look of sunrise that much. Twilight is ok. Bifrost is fairly neat. The Dreamer is hilarious. Bolt’s probably my favorite, but there’s no way I am spending 3.5-4g per charged lodestone when you need 100 for it. The legendary spear looks pretty cool. That’s about it.

I am actually currently working on Jormag’s Breath, since it doesn’t interfere with legendary collection all that much and I really enjoyed the Icy Dragon Sword skin in GW1. I would also like to get Foefire’s essence but that’s a side project due to charged lodestones requirement.

There was this one time, I don’t remember what week it was, that an Agg warrior or thief kept on coming after me – I think it was warrior because she never stealthed. I was with my friend, who was playing his necro, and we kept on killing her. It was kinda weird. Even when there was a zerg of us, she would single me out. It was kinda interesting. She did down me once when I was heading away from one of our towers but there was a thief on my team that came out of nowhere (stealth is OP) and killed her then rezzed me from downed…I prob should of not been looking at my map and sitting still though. Just thought I’d share my rather weird experience with a well known guild.

SoS lost last week – they didn’t have field presence as they were outnumbered on every map. Did JQ win? Yes. The issue isn’t if SoS won or lost, its the fact JQ didn’t beat them when it mattered. You beat SoS on a holiday when no one was playing. If you want to take that as the end all be all, and suddenly SoS cant fight and you magically win by like 100k – do you. The fact of the matter regardless of what you think is SoS’s presence was halved, and that’s what JQ beat.

Can JQ beat SoS when SoS is here? No – at least not currently. This week obviously shows last weeks JQ win was due to lack of numbers, and not JQ suddenly learning how to WvW.

That being said JQ does have several guilds that are very skilled, and we look forward to seeing those guys on the battlefield every week – they keep it fun/interesting.

Are you all that hurt over one loss though? A majority of SoS’ers are acting like they are, having to use the holiday absence, whether true or not, as a crutch. Its 1 loss out of what – 0? You shouldn’t have to remind everyone else how much SoS has won since they got to Tier 1 – we can read numbers and forum posts.

Maybe its time to server hop, there’s probably less angsty people in a lower tier. SBI has been the least angsty in this thread. I am just stirring the pot really, and its working – its called boredom.

One more point – is there some strange phenomena where it was only New Year’s for Oceanic? Last I checked, it was New Year’s week for a lot of people, just not Oceanic. You don’t think other servers were also celebrating New Year’s?

Anyways, let’s move on. New week next week, and we can welcome BG back to Tier 1.

Best servers of all time are not determined by how many games you can win as quick as possible. Its about how many you can win over a long period of time. How long is your server willing to fight? You can call yourselves the best server ever, and I will not say JQ is because to be fair WvW will become become bigger. And more servers will come out of the shadows like SoS did. Bottom line, is best server….by all means if you think so. Just remember theres still a long way to go.

He was boo’ed off stage after saying that (not exact) quote to Taylor Swift. Whether its because you need Dwayna’s temple taken over in order to efficiently farm the mob that drops charged lodestones or the droprate is actually worse, it doesn’t really matter – the droprate seems off. I’ve seen numerous people with incinerator on my server, for example, and that requires 100 destroyer lodestones and 100 molten lodestones, and those are cheaper by 2g or more per lodestone than charged lodestones, and destroyer lodestones have even less farmable areas than charged lodestones.

They drop the same.. i have no problem farming onyx myself for example problem with charged is they are needed for all the cool exotics. some need 250 of them. AND THEN coe is one of least farmed dungeon.

It is what player-base decides. If destroyer items were popular instead of charged then trust me you’d see the same thing about destroyer.

What ANET can do about this is that they can add more resources for charged. Like they did with fractals. If they say from now on charged drops in Asc. catacombs that’ll solve all this problem.

But what you say is really wrong.. they drop the same..just farmed less/more.

Where you get onyx lodestones with no problem? I’ve tried Malchor’s Leap, didn’t work out for me. I’ve done TA numerous times. I’ve gotten a core or 2. I’m just curious now, lol.

No, you just have to keep on putting in rare/exotic rifles above lvl 75 until you get 1.

Also the dredge down in the southern cave drop Heavy Miner Bags like crazy. Doing a few of the DE’s down there with a friend is pretty easy and can easily net you 20-30 bags.

The drop rate of those are aligned with the others. The problem is that the demand is much higher because of two legendaries that everyone wants. Some people have enough money to pay whatever price it is, raising the threshold price of these lodes higher than the others.

Going out, and finding skills for my characters!!!

That was probably one of the most fun things I did in GW1! I absolutely loved finding an elite on GW wiki, figuring out where the monster was (of course it was in the southern shiverpeaks -.-), and taking this epic journey out to cap the skill!

I remember having to go through that snake path in the Shiverpeaks with an alt, and just being halted in my steps by the sheer beauty of the zone. I totally felt like I was Bilbo or Frodo in Tolkien’s novels! I adored the fear, and danger of going through those zones too! I’d often find myself saying, ‘oh geez where’s the next waypoint! Nooo we’re not going to make it! Oh my gosh… we made it to the last part of the map with 10 health!’ Those moments, and memories will stay with me for a long while.

I’d love to have more of that in GW2. I want to have epic adventures crawling all over the maps, and not just for completion. I’d love to find an elite skill, and build my entire character around it!

That’s actually all I really did in GW1 lol. I’d just go out, and have adventures trying to put together different types of builds. I’d take a studious approach as well with a notepad out trying to compare numbers, and work together different sorts of skills into my silly gaming nerd equation.

My heart would sink if I saw I had to do half of an entire expansion before I was able to get a skill, but you know what I did? I’d do that half of the expansion as fast as I could just to get enough sunspear points for my rank, or to get enough reputation with the Kurzicks / Luxons.

Accomplishing my silly (totally not as effective as everyone else’s) builds in the end was so incredibly rewarding. Those skills were like pieces of my BiS armor sets.

A good way to add that sort of adventuring in GW2 would be to introduce new weapons then go out, and do quests to unlock the skills. I’m sure people would probably be annoyed at this, but I think that’d be pretty fun!

I remember the old skill capping where you had to wait until enemy casted skill then use the cap sig. I ran Iron Mines during that over and over again until I got the Mursaat necro boss to spawn so I could get life transfer. Then I waited for it to cast life transfer and spammed the crap out of the cap sig. Good times.

Money being easy to acquire – even if I only played a few hours, I could do the Zaishen dailies and get ~5k. If I only did the dailies in GW2, I only get around 15 silver. Things also costed less in GW1 than they do in GW2.

Human nature is rather interesting. Last week, SoS players were complaining that they were losing because it was a holiday, because you know, it wasn’t a holiday for SBI or JQ apparently. This week, SoS is all over the forums bragging and telling SBI and JQ to leave tier 1 and give up, because apparently everyone on SBI and JQ are quitters and should just quit. You’re right, SoS players gel well together as a server of stuck up “holier than thou” players. SBI seems a much friendlier community, and well, obviously I know about JQ’s community since I’m on the server and aside from a handful of bad eggs, community is overall friendly.

For everyone else, enough with the 2v1 accusations.

In before “Someone from JQ started the accusations”. I am aware of this, and I don’t agree with it, but SoS posters could of been more mature and just ignored that post instead of going on how SBI and JQ should just quit. Flex those E-muscles SoS. Stretch out that kitten.

If you didn’t play GW1, you won’t get this.

I think the most epic server matchup would be JQ vs FA vs Kaineng. Of course, JQ and FA would have to double-team Kaineng. Afterall, it would be the Dragon Empire (Kaineng) vs the Luxons and Kurzicks (FA and JQ). But in the end, Kaineng would win because the Dragon Empire destroyed the Kurzicks and Luxons between GW1 and 2.

There’s something purposefully or mistakenly wrong with the drop rate of charged lodestones or there’s not enough farmable mobs for them/cores. I spent roughly 2 hours with full magic find, in a party with 2 other people, farming the sparks and air elementals in malchor’s leap outside of doric’s waypoint, and didn’t find one lodestone. Onyx is almost as bad. All the other lodestones seem to have a fairly normal droprate for a rare quality item. The droprate of onyx and charged makes them more in line with a exotic quality item.

Ahh crap, if that’s a current map of Cantha, there goes my hopes of Kaineng being flooded because where it would be in that map looks like land still. Hopefully, for Cantha expansion, my other hopes will be there – FA in ruins and no afflicted, lol.

Hopefully more ways to get ascended items and the fabled precursor scavenger hunt will be upcoming. Of course, in addition to all that, permanent bug fixes, permanent fixes and/or removal to broken events, and maybe even more incentive to do the multiple group events that no one ever does.

I am looking forward to the Cantha expansion, if they are actually planning that, because I think that continent will have had the most dramatic changes in the 250 years since GW1 – Jade Sea becoming water probably (huge water zone?), the Echovald Forest becoming a normal forest again and hopefully Kaineng will be flooded and Fort Aspenwood in ruins. Lol.
