Well, purposely mass recruiting the biggest and best wvw guilds from around the globe to stack a server to guarantee flawless victories each week kinda does ruin the competition of the tier. It forces the competition to also try to mass recruit, which then effects the lower tiers, catch my drift?

I don’t understand all the complaints about servers gaining guilds due to recruitment. Its a tactic that works, so why wouldn’t servers do it? I’m gonna have to agree with Barab. Those servers had a choice to go to SoS, but they chose not to. For a lot of people, its a fun challenge to try and topple the nearly undefeated #1 team for several weeks.

Oh wait, I don’t have any say though, because I’m riding on the coattails of Tier 1. My bad.

Just do what I did Eugene. Find a trusted commander, have him meet you in your BL’s citadel, equip the siege, hit ~ to drop it, at which point your commander friend can pick it up!

As at one time, an opponent of BG (I used to be on JQ), I feel they are a solid, great community of players, that fight hard! They also have the best forum score updater ever. I’d recommend them.

I wouldn’t even bother with the infusions that add +5 to x stat since its so infinitesimal compared to the amount of mats you need (100 t6 mats, wtf is that). I would just go with the versatile simple infusions for 75 fractal relics which you can get in 2 fractal sets. Afterall, the only point of infusions is the agony resistance. If you’re just getting ascended gear for WvW, then you don’t even need to worry about infusions or AR.

How does one target themselves? I’ve been trying to figure that out, but not sure how to. Please enlighten us, Anakita.

I was being lazy in Timberline Falls last night and got to a cliff (that a guild friend had just fallen off of to death) so attempted to use snow leopard dash to get far enough out to make it to the deeper part of the river below where I was – yeah, didn’t work well.

On my necro, whom I plan to just use for WvW, I am planning to get the full PVT AC dungeon set. I already have a rare PVT backpiece (which I’ll upgrade to ascended at some point) and accessory via fractals. I plan on getting the PVT ascended rings as well. I will be able to get my first 1 probably today once I complete the fractal 10 daily.

I think the reason these threads get so heated is because there are a lot of people in these servers that are more passionate about the WvW experience than even they’ll admit.

Yeah, I don’t think I’d have the patience for this – doing the same events and same maps over and over would probably get boring, especially since there’s quite a few people that don’t do a lot of the low lvl zone events or they’re not working. I just got my 2nd 80 yesterday.

I wonder if lodestones will be on the laurels vendor, because some of them certainly have the worst RNG I have seen in this game thus far. I am talking about you charged lodestones.

If you’re in a good fractal group, it will take less than an hour. After vendoring everything and selling some rare weapons/armor, I get 1g + for every fractal. That would be even more if I didn’t horde the cores/lodestones I get.

I try to do the daily everyday and usually do. I also do my daily fractal in tier 1 (1 even diff in 1-9) and tier 2 (1 even diff 10-19). That’s usually all I have time for after work.

@Nuka Cola – you can alt tab wiki instead. Every jumping puzzle entrance is on wiki. You only need to find the entrance, not do the puzzle. You can even just go to the same 3 in LA. Each time you load into LA, you can get the 3 there towards credit.

I usually do daily kill variety in gendarran since it takes only a few mins to get all 15 and its very close to LA entrance. I do the gathering/events in Southsun and Orr. It will be nice to see some variation in the dailys.

I generally don’t see this being a problem except with some encounters (AC P2 and CoF P2 come to mind).

Ex-GW1 players may forget that you couldn’t res shrine rush either. If you died, you either had to wait for a res or wait till the party wiped. In some dungeons, a wipe meant you had to restart completely.

If you played another MMO, then you must forget that most other MMO’s dungeons do not let you graveyard/waypoint/res shrine rush. Once you wipe, the encounter resets and you res at graveyard.

Waypoint rushing is a cheap mechanic, that is unfortunately almost required for some parts of dungeons.

Alright Tier 1, I know you don’t really know me much in game as I’ve made more of a presence on the forums, but I’ve made the decision to go to Fort Aspenwood, so I can WvW with my guild. I still have great respect for all servers in Tier 1 (even if I kinda show hate for SoS, lol – its the rivalry talk coming out).

SoS – Even if I may show hate towards you guys, you’ve earned the #1 spot and its well deserved.
JQ – Stay the great community you are (everything I have said about JQ, I mean it, and will miss the community, but I want to play with people I actually know). I believe you all will be able to get #1 again. Maybe one day, FA will face you in battle, then it will be an epic Factions battle. Just need to get Kaineng up there, then we could have a Factions battle royale. I don’t see this happening for a while though.
BG – My respect for you has gone up since the first week and I hope to see you guys in Tier 1 for a while. Continue to keep SoS and JQ on their toes!

I’m amazed at all of the posts defending all of these major transfers into SoS/JQ. I’m not upset if Blackgate moves down a server, so don’t take this the wrong way but… People keep mentioning this “goal” of being in a Tier 1 server. What good is a goal if you don’t accomplish it yourself? Moving a guild to an already #1/#2 server is like buying a legendary from the TP. Someone mentioned how horrible it would be to transfer a whole guild to Blackgate only to have them move down to Tier 2. What came next was amazing. “They’d have to spend real money to move back to tier 1”. Are you kidding me? What happened to playing the game and actually EARNING a T1 spot?

If these major guild’s real goal is to be part of a Tier 1 server maybe they should earn it. I’m going to say one more time here so nobody gets the wrong idea: I play on Blackgate. I don’t care if I’m in T1, T2, or T8. As long as there are people to play against I’m happy.

Yeah, I made those comments. Some people do play like that, hence the whole ‘bandwagoning’ thing. I wouldn’t play like that, but some people do. You can’t control the way someone wants to play. Yes, its sad, but its the choice they make, just like people make the choice to buy legendarys on the TP. A lot of people in this world want things to come to them without trying or having little to no difficulty – welcome to human nature (I’m not saying that’s the transfers’ motive mind you).

This is why SoS need euro’s, because with all the bandwagons to JQ in NA timezone they may now have the stronger NA aswell as the stronger daytime.

To me, SF wanted the challenge of Tier 1 (so not SoS) but wanted to be in Tier 1 for a guaranteed long time (so not BG). That leaves 1 server to go to that’s currently in Tier 1, JQ. That’s not to say JQ will be bumped out of Tier 1 next week, 2 wks or however many weeks from now.

They would have to pay to come up to Tier 1. I just don’t want JQ to become another SoS – intermediately difficult wins with 30k or more lead. I would still like it to be fairly challenging. Ok, no worries. I can’t talk for others though. I personally would not ‘bandwagon’ to a server because they were Tier 1 or #1. I’ve been on JQ since launch. For me, PvE has always come before any type of PvP. That being said, the latter half of GW1’s longevity before 2 came out, I did a lot of PvP mainly because I was working on the Kurzick title maxing. Maybe same will happen in GW2, but I do intend to get more into WvW soonish (as soon as necro reaches 80 and at least fully rare quality geared, but preferably exotic’ed).

I feel kinda bad for BG though , this has to be the worst timing to announce paid transfers for them. They come up and try to recruit to be competitive in T1, but the announcement completely screws them over.

Edit: Also, please don’t say “you’re from JQ, so of course you’re ok with it”. As a casual WvW player, SF joining would have made no difference to me. I am just trying to bring logic to your hostile post. Heck, I may even transfer to FA to play with the guild I’m actually representing. Being on a tier 1 server, while very awesome, has no real bearing on me. For now, I enjoy the community we have on JQ so that’s why I am still here.

Hey, random casual WvW’er here.

I joined JQ because out of the 3 servers (JQ, FA and SF – choices selected based on my favorite places in GW1) I suggested to the GW1 guild I was in originally , JQ had the most balance between PvE and PvP, based on a unofficial pre-launch poll. I am glad I made this choice, because PvE-wise, we generally have a multitude of people running around zones that would more than likely be empty on other servers. I generally always see a nice grouping of people anywhere I go. Unfortunately, the original guild that came over from GW1 has since gone inactive and I now represent a guild from FA, which makes it difficult to group up sometimes.

In WvW, as casually as I play, I have run into some great commanders. The ones I have personally dealt with are Ben Sheets from HzH and Vel-something (extremely sorry for not remembering you’re name – human guardian) and Buctree from Acolytes (I offloaded my siege to him since he saw my post in the previous SoS v JQ v BG thread that got closed). Overall, I think we have an amazing community and this community has helped me from hating WvW to wanting to get into it more, due to how nicely coordinated and friendly everyone is.
