If Mr Sparkles and Scruffy had a match against each other, who do you think would have the advantage? My money is definitely on Mr. Sparkles due to him having AI whereas Scruffy is basically a bipedal tank for Taimi.
Yeah, I agree. Though they did provide a summary in the website and a more detailed version in their Wiki.
EDIT: I got another link for you which details the Queen’s Jubilee story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6Jegq-kzgc

Perhaps these videos from WoodenPotatoes may prove useful as I am currently watching them right now:

And you’d just let it happen like that? Well, more reasons for haters to thrive, I guess. Either way, I’d imagine that after the not well-received reception the Zhaitan fight was given, I’d imagine a whole new direction in taking down a massive dragon is in order. I’d imagine perhaps weakening the dragon from the outside until an opening is made in which then, heroes can try to kill him on the inside.
Having a bit of a difficult time deciding which Legion would my Charr Ranger belong to. I want to make him into a beastmaster type of Charr, and would fight with just axes. Does he belong to the Blood Legion then?
Alrighty, as for the clothes, they don’t need to be off. The armor I laid out on the screenshots will be enough as it is attractive enough as is. Either way, I look forward to your work, man.
In the earlier episodes, your voice was way too soft for me to understand. Nice to know how you have improved since then.
I have a feeling that the other racial leaders are just trolling the Pale Tree saying that they are coming but they really aren’t. But I doubt that. I just hope the big boss of this episode is not another giant worm. As if I haven’t killed enough of those things already.
Is that so? I don’t suppose you could make artwork that would make her seem to be a very devious Necro, yet sexy at the same time.
My request will no longer be NSFW. I’ll need to save up a bit for my request to be a reality.
I have 2 NSFW requests (a full body desktop wallpaper of 1920×1080 resolution and a forum signature) to make assuming you still do that type of artwork and as always, you are free to take your time if you must as I don’t yet have the gold to make it happen much faster. Basically, give her a very dark and seductive vibe to her if that’s alright.
Thanks again

6/10 looks pretty bland.
below is one of my armor sets the other one looks kinda grim.
6/10 Could almost give him a Industrial/Victorian era London look, but a Necromancer!
8/10 Very Demonic, especially the shoulder works very well with a Charr.
Here comes my Necro.
I see this character as more of a warlock than a necromancer, which I think makes it even more kitten in my opinion. The wings are a nice touch.
Now here’s my Lady Malkav’s current appearance
her biggest flaw is that shes supposed to be some perfect, mental prodigy that’s what, 5 years old?
While being handi-capped with a disability?
Stephen Hawking would like to have a word with you.
The way I see it, the flaw Taimi has is perhaps her overeagerness. But that is more like my impression of her.
My eleven year old has started to express interest in MMORPGs, she says she wants to play WoW, but I keep thinking she might enjoy GW 2 better.
Any thoughts/advice?
By asking on this forum, more likely will you encounter people saying that GW2 is worth a buy and I am no different.
That being said, WoW does have a free trial so it’s good to have her test the waters on that game first. On the other hand, Guild Wars 2 while it has no trial version is enjoyable as the game feels less of a chore in terms of grinding.
All they would have to do other than work on the next story is to simply beta test (heavily) the episodes and distribute them timely.
After the traits, megaserver woes, and now the broken world LS events…
I don’t think ANet tests anything. I still can’t finish my event string because the events are broken.
If they don’t test anything, then why is it that other players can now play the event strings? Testing something doesn’t always mean that it will be 100 percent perfect. One could only hope to minimize the bugs rather than wipe them out completely. Such is the problem with every modern MMORPG in existence, I suppose.
I had this suggestion at the top of my head since I got the Mysterious Vine piece for my Necromancer. I’d hope that we can change the color of backpieces real soon.
I think, the story in GW2 was meant to be good. I’ve read the 2 books before playing GW2, and of course finished GW1 many times. I liked the books.
I like the personal story approach and how it interacts with the open world. The problem is that it is visible that at some point (around lvl 20 that is) the developers had heard that the game is being released in 2 weeks and the rest of the personal story is expected to be ready then (or something like that). So the cool stories were cut (for example the story about the second Pale tree, or White Mantles/Mursaats etc) and we get the crap with the orders which is very low on quality and had (and maybe still has) tons of bugs. The same goes with the rest of the content btw.
Then there is an experiment on living world story. The season 1 was the first try to such approach and the devs playground. It was basically the “living world” alpha. Season 2 is beta, it is much better.
So for me it is hard to judge where the game is going. The story gets better and the quality of it is increasing. I see again the connection of open world with living story instances which i like. I see a lot more lore per 2-weeks than before. The story is more interesting for me and can be replayed which is very important for me. But what about the rest of the lore? Story mode dungeons, fractals and personal stories? I regret that the game was rushed and we are stick with low quality content next to high quality one. I wish the devs would remake the PS along with the possibilities to replay it. Same goes for all the dungeons. But I don’t see that coming. I wonder what about expansion?
2 years since it’s release is still too soon for an expansion, I’d say give it a year or two more and I can see it happening.
Careful what you are posting. For all we know it may actually come true and people will kitten about it yet again. :/
The whole living story is crap and not for any of the reasons you mentioned. The characters are badly designed and forced, and the ridiculous message it’s pushing in our faces belongs on a Tumblr blog, not in something I pay money for.
Get your act together ArenaNet. Stop forcing this PC trash down our throats. The real offensiveness is what they have done to the Guild Wars story by incorporating all this nonsense into a fantasy that had some potential. The entire living story has been mediocre at best but especially bad since the introduction of all these new characters. It’s uninspiring, it’s deluded, and quite frankly it belongs in a toilet.
The rest of you need to grow a thicker skin and see the forest for the trees.
Badly designed? How exactly? I suppose Kasmeer’s character model is my least favorite of the bunch considering how “barbie doll” she looks at least when compared to Jory.
Ridiculous message? Tell me what message are you speaking of?
Isn’t that what achievements are meant for? What’s the point of being rewarded for something so easy?
I could just say that I encountered this box thingy and because I was tired I went to sleep in it and then I had a dream of weird stuff happening around me.
I find it funny that the ESRB rating is T for teen when it should be E for everyone. The writing is so childish, that I’ve seen saturday morning cartoons with a better plot line.
Ugh! This! So much this. I was literally talking to my guildies today about how childish the game feels in comparison to GW1. We don’t even have a real fleshed out enemy in this game. I mean we have the elder dragon, but they literally get no character development themselves at all. They woke up, destroyed everything, and now what? What do they want?)
Hmmm…. with regards to the elder dragons getting character development, I honestly do not think they need to. As for what do they want? Simple: dragon is hungry, dragon eats magic.
I really can’t agree with this. Having an intricate villain with multiple layers makes a story so much more interesting. Think about some of the great movie/comic/literature villains and how they contributed to creating a captivating plot… palpatine/the joker/ hannibal lecter/ even Smaug as a response to your dragon question. Remember all the ambition Anet showed pre-release? A game with such high aspirations deserves a better enemy than “dragon is hungry, dragon eats magic”. As players, we literally have no connection with zhaitan other than knowing that he damaged tyria. Our characters aren’t personally affected by him to begin with. Most of the contact we have with his devastation is secondhand… we help NPCs who were directly affected by his destruction.
Think about it like this. In GW1 prophecies, our first enemy was the charr… they destroyed our home, and from this point, the game furthers the plot, giving you a personal connection with the enemies you encounter. In factions, you’re working to fight this plague that threatens to wipe out your country and you see that even one of your fellow students has become infected, from here the story builds. In NF, Varesh Ossa invades your country, killing many of your comrades and capturing your leader, the entire plot deepens from this point.
Also, the threat and devastation of the dragon doesn’t really become an active presence in the game until you get to orr, which is pretty late on in the game. When I’m starting out and even in the surrounding areas when I’m mid-level, I have no real interaction with the dragon’s corruption aside from the few areas of the map that have rise.
In prophecies, the evidence of the searing was all around me. When I wasn’t fighting charr, my quests (hearts for gw2) involved me helping people overcome the problems the searing had caused them. I could give examples about factions and NF, but this post’ll get too long.
Another thing, if zhaitan’s power is really so threatening, then shouldn’t his presence reach into the subplots of our story? My last two characters I worked on were humans, so those are the ones I remember the best: the centaurs and bandits seem unphased and unaffected by the presence of the dragon. Especially among the centaurs. As a nation of intelligent beings (I mean, ventari was a centaur!), you would think something as powerful as the dragon would somehow affect their actions in the story . Also Caudecus plays a significant role in the human storyline, but I’m not even sure if he ever even brings up the elder dragon.
This is all stuff I feel like anet could improve upon when they introduce content for the other dragons. Thoughts?
You do make a good point about that. But when it comes to dragons as the main antagonist, I perceive them as beings of cataclysmic disaster, meaning that the fact that they are going to spell out “end of the world as we know it” is reason enough to get involved in his slaying. And I came up with that logic because dragons in general, intelligent or otherwise are still beasts that give in to their basic instincts, especially feeding.
As for his presence in the subplots, isn’t that what the Risen are for? From the lowly zombie to the Eyes and Mouths of Zhaitan, they are extensions of his being. However, I’d have loved more of Zhaitan’s lieutenants to expand their presences outside of Orr.
I am not sure how Anet does their content stuff but if this is what did, then consider this post disregarded:
Anet could have already have the whole story for Season 2 (at least the Mordremoth story) all prepared and they just divided it into episodes to maintain interest. All they would have to do other than work on the next story is to simply beta test (heavily) the episodes and distribute them timely.
Well, it could mean two things from what I have read so far:
1. The backpiece WILL change on it’s own as the game gets updated with Season 2 content.
2. The backpiece could change on it’s own but you have to have the materials to make it so, hence there was the Cultivated Seed item I got alongside the Mysterious Vine backpiece. That would be a really kitten move on Anet’s part if they would go that route.
i hope they explain how rytlock got sohothin, i hate how rytlock when ask by our PC how he got the sword he said irrelevant. kitten give us some lore. that what makes any story interesting.
I too want to know that story. But then again, I’m just going to stick to the fact that he just got it as a spoil of war.
Well, here’s what I thought of the way the quests were handled. Turning the open-world events into actual story quests IS very risky as the experience is hindered with so many people fighting the same enemy. On the other hand, I commend Arenanet for doing something different (I wouldn’t know if it has been done before but I bet it has), though I think living world events like that would seem to be more fitting if the chaos of Mordremoth’s vines were to have gone even more worse than what was indicated here, basically on a much later episode than Dragon’s Reach Part 1 which I am sure we would face even nastier threats in bulk.
Thinking about it, I wondered why do we need an alliance to begin with when we already have the Pact, a union of three different orders that have already fought Zhaitan and succeeded. I may have missed a few plot details here and there, but I’d imagine the Pact’s forces being sent in first to test the waters a little further. :/
I find it funny that the ESRB rating is T for teen when it should be E for everyone. The writing is so childish, that I’ve seen saturday morning cartoons with a better plot line.

By “travel through the mists”, it’s basically this: go to the Heart of the Mists (the PvP lobby), take a portal exiting the Mists to Lions Arch and find a portal to take you to Divinity’s Reach if you are not willing to use the waypoints directly
Made a brand new one: Abykkos
Thinking of making my new character an Asura, but give him the mad scientist getup. I wonder what would be more viable profession for something like that? An elementalist or an engineer? And also, I would like to know what would be the choice of clothing indicating mad science.
I am not sure if this was asked for in the past, but I thought I may wanna say it. I like having vanity pets, except for the fact that I have to open the inventory every time I am in a new area to have them appear alongside me. Is there any way that we can just toggle whether or not we want our pets to appear without having to go with that option?
I have heard from people who played Asura that their elite skills are good for early game but past that, they don’t seem to pack a solid punch compared to skills accessed through professions. Which would probably explain why I don’t see that many Asura players summoning golems against champions. I was wondering if there is a way they could improve upon that in the future?
IMO, stick with instances so that challenges like “Masters” or a “Hard Mode” (GW1) can be added and used for a reason to actually replay episodes. I mean look at LS2 E1&2. It was instanced, had a lot less problems at launch, if something bugs for you just restart and still.. it had open world co-existing beautifully with the story.
Why did we go backwards to the LS1 player mash up debacle?Because people complained that everything was instanced and they wanted more open world content.
See the pattern here?
I doubt very much they rewrote everything back into open world content because people complained too much. With that being said there is no pattern and I find your lack of faith disturbing, Anet does what they want how they planed it. So again I ask, Why go backwards as a planed installment?
The pattern is:
Anet does something.
Players complain about it and want it another way.
Repeat. If they kept it instanced, people would complain about open world.
If they make it open world, people complain it should be instanced.A strange game.
Anet is not designing the living story week by week.
Didn’t say they were.
I said that people were complaining regardless of what they did.
Yeah, people complain, but their complaints have literally zero impact until months later when they’re already complaining about something else.
And?
I’m not really sure why you’re telling me this.
My point was that people will complain regardless of what they do, so they might as well just do whatever because why not.
Nothing wrong with complaining as long as the said complaint is constructive. That just means there is always going to be room for improvement. That being said, I could acknowledge the fact that Arenanet may not have seen this bug coming. Still, I just hope that at the very least if they implement another episode like this, they have been able to think of a way to minimize the problem rather.
Did you know that when you mirror image the letter “E” it becomes like this: ?. And if you base it on numbers, it looks like 3.
And if you notice the Valve logo, you notice that the “E” there is smaller than the rest despite it being a capital letter. In other words: E is actually Episode 3!!!!!
THE END TIMES HAVE COME!!!!!!
Is that so? Hmmm… I do like what D/D Eles go for.
Why not have him run on all fours when given a speed buff of any sort. That would at least be fun.
What do they call a Sylvari at 6 in the morning?
Morning Wood. (cue the drums)
Out of all the three characters I have played so far, it’s with the Elementalist that I tend to die the most on the first 30 levels. I tried several builds related to Staff usage and I even went and switched to a D/D approach but it still doesn’t click for me. Got any advice on how to make a solid Staff Elementalist, specifically when it comes to survivability.
Much appreciated, guys.
I named my first Asura Staunen. Looking back at it, it seems more like a human name.
What you think of as quests in standard MMOs are dynamic events in Guild Wars 2.
‘Dynamic’? – meaning, characterised by constant change?
Seriously?
So many of these quests are now so ‘dynamic’ there are websites dedicated to timing the spawns, so whole armies of players are lying in wait for them to happen…which makes the biggest challenge of many fights getting a hit in before the boss is rolled over by the train.
I still enjoy playing this game – but lets be real…dynamic it ain’t.
I suppose it’s not 100 perfect in terms of it being dynamic but still, a certain timeframe between spawns is probably necessary to make the experience less hectic, I suppose. Perhaps in time, they’d be able to refine it completely.
I’ve played my share of tabletops so I know how to behave in-character. And I have seen certain MMOs that apparently have RP servers in them. In the case of this game, I only know it’s either TC or Piken that caters to the RPer. But exactly how does RP work in this game? I’d like to know the basics, if that’s alright.
Well, I only gotten the game this year, though for what it’s worth, they should have at least fulfilled some of those promises. Or rather be more transparent to the fanbase of what they are doing (and those podcasts they upload on Youtube do not count imo). Still, I enjoyed the game for what it has given me.
I got the idea from the Puppetmaster job class in FF-XI, but my take on it would be that rather than go for different types of pets, the Puppet would be just one pet that can be modified by parts and chassis. He can have the puppet move at a much greater range from the puppetmaster compared to pets and minions assuming he is controlled manually. As for the Puppetmaster himself, I’d picture him to be more of a bard type character rather than a summoner (Necro) or a hunter (Ranger).
Still, I hope the devs assuming they read this thread, take this into account when they make new content. Though I am always welcome for ideas on how to make this profession kick kitten .
Call it dumb, or call it redundant, but why not have a Puppet-master type profession in Guild Wars 2? Unlike the Necromancer who just summon and casts the spells of the minion, the Puppetmaster has a single minion that has his own gear in addition to the character himself and have him either be controlled on autopilot as like an AI controlled partner in combat like minions OR control him manually.
Not sure where a thread like this would be the best one, but either way, I’d like to know what you guys think of the idea. Okay?
So… I herd u liek Quaggans?
Welcome to Tyria, my friend. Enjoy your stay.
Unlike PvE/WvW all our stats in PvP come from our trinket choice. You need to decide whether you want to go Power (Berserker), Condition (Rabid/Carrion/Dire), or Bunker (Soldier/Knight). Certain prefixes combo better with different weapon sets and your trait choices will determine which runes/sigils fit best.
Weapon Sets:
Power – Axe (Mainhand)+ Focus/Warhorn (Offhand)
Condition – Scepter (Mainhand) + Dagger/Focus (Offhand)
Bunker – Axe/Dagger (Mainhand) + Warhorn (Offhand)
All Purpose Utility – Staff (2hand)These are some of the builds I use, but there are other variations out there. Play around with different build types and find out what works best for you.

May wanna go with the Minion Master here, because quite frankly, I don’t wanna take down the enemy myself but rather give the enemy distractions while facing off my teammates.
1. New races, but more importantly new professions
2. Additional weapon types usable by each class
3. I’d like to have a Guild Hall or at least a house to call my own.
4. I’d like to have mounts (like the flying broomstick) in different varieties.
