5 men are a roaming party. I think 2 thieves, 2 mesmrs (good roamers and can port golems) and maybe a warrior with condi tank build to sit in rams

It’s not such a big issue, in my opinion. I’ve been playing WvW for over a year and a half now, and I’ve NEVER been whispered by anyone on the enemy team. (One time I got party invited by someone in Obsidian Sanctum, but he basically just wanted to tell me he was friendly and to please not attack him because he’d been struggling to get past the dark room/arena for half an hour now. And yes, I was nice and let him be. )

If somebody is being rude/abusive to you in WvW, regardless of which server they’re from, block and report them.

Try to play with a lb ranger. Every. Single. Time. A d/p thief start to complain. Yesterday one of this guys played with 4 other players. He poped out and hided immediatly. When i arrived he run away and started to provoke me. I followed him, put sicem on him and shot to death. Ofc he whispered me not to nice things and i couldnt answer because i was on blocklist.

My friends have a 10-15 men raid 3 times a week. They flip camps, run suplys and if they see a tower without scout they siege it. Without sneak attack it will be nearly impossible.
I suggest to add white sword something like orange sword but it pops if there are more than x enemy players in the area

We wvw players cry for a trader where we can buy ToK for badges. Most of us dont like the boring pve leveling, dont have the money to lvl with crafting and dont want to punish our world with an upleveled rallybot.

Every single day when i go roam minimum 1 times this conversation happens:
He: you &$@#ing 2222 spammer nub!
I: are you a p/d thief?
He: yes
80% of the thieves plays because they can kitten everybody. But when i put sic em on them they still try to leap on smoke field and put shadowe refuge and stop wondering why they cant hide. Most of them die without a single evaid.
80% of the roamers are thieves and mesmers, so i prepair against them. Do you have problem with rangers? Do the same.
Example most of the mesmers bring something but i never ever seen any thief to prepar for anything else but faceroll everybody.

The stacking in t1 is very hard. Some guilds sometimes want to win whole matchups so they move down where they count but 3 other guilds jump in there place

I like to see the points a world grates with ppk vs ppt. Though over all i think ppt needs to get a bit of a nerf and ppk needs to cover about 50% of the points per week.

The high tier matchups already have almost 50% non-PPT score. Low tier matchups only reach 25%.

PPK was introduced on the 16th of December. Browse back to previous weeks’ records and follow how Gunnar’s Hold’s non-PPT score has evolved. They seem to be getting a lot of points for kills.

The game should dish out guilds to servers every week at reset.

Seeing your signature and all the transferring you have done, I understand why you’d say something like that..

However, there are quite some people that have a bond with their home server.. So dishing them out to other servers each week will result in those no longer feeling as involved, and eventually refrain from playing WvW..

I think more people stop playing because the pop imbalance and stacking/bandwagoning servers. And i think the server pride will change to guild pride (so much my guild is in top100 wow ladder)

I think anet should change the whole server thing.
The game should dish out guilds to servers every week at reset.
Example: Every week you can choose your wvw guild what will define your server for the next week.
Guilds could make some warscore what determinates a ladder. First guild go first server, second go second… If there is x servers the x+1th guild go again to the first server. I think there are way more potent guilds as much servers we need.

Leveling in gw is not that big deal as in most mmo. Lvl 1-79 is just the warmup, the game comes from 80. There are no places whats are restricted for low levels.
Play ranger if you have some mazohism because everybody hates rangers. (Yes, most of the other rangers too)
I suggest to main first a warrior or guardian.
I say it because i dont want you to gain bad experiences and leave the game

GS is very effective against them. Keep swinging when they stealth. I think I just got cursed out by a thief for that. Something like “kitten your kitten Arie!”

No it is not. GS is not even viable in ranked pvp. Ever player with a bit of brain can dodge maul. Then you’re useless untill it comes off cd again or swap weaps. I would not recoment GS for any reason. S/A or even S/D is far superior.

Stun or go invisible, fear, root, push to the wall etc… Btw you are right. I think maul is the best telegraphated skill in this game

Any profession can do it but i suggest a high mobility class to move fast to the next camp.

I never grinded eotm. Played there max 10 hours. You dont need that just a good, organized wvw team and a good build for your character

I play wvw since the very begining but 1 of 10 when sieging is fun. Mostly defenders sit in tower, shoot with trebs, ac and thats all. Ahh… And sometimes linely heroes rush out to disable. And if 5-10 mins not enough to call people you deserve it.
Mostly the good fights comes when the wall/gate is down and the 2 army clash. Wvw needs population balance, not more face to face avoiding.

I admit that in most cases the reason the tower/keep flips in 5-10 minutes is that there is no real reason to hold it (being non-upgraded or just far enough from tick that you can retake it).

This brings me back to the problem of the towers/keeps having no strategic value. Where real world fortifications were build to block passage into certain parts of the country, the WvW towers and keeps are both pathetically small and placed in the weirdest of locations.

About the best fights, I do agree. Of course the pre-wall/gate down is usually relatively uneventful, especially if you play a mostly melee character and all siege is taken. However, if holding a fortification would have real strategic meaning, such as flat out blocking the way to other fortifications, supply camps and/or other objectives the situation could be different. The ones being sieged would have to try to break the siege before they come through the walls (or at the very least when they do) or suffer the consequences.

So while I do agree that at the current setup of having meaninglessly small towers at strategically unimportant places, the game would not benefit for having longer siege times. However, if the map was redesigned so that the fortifications were better located and would seriously restrict movement into other parts of the map, the longer sieging would most likely bring more epic battles into the map.

This redesign would be a bit problematic for roamers, as their freedom would be severely restricted. I have a lot of ideas how they could still contribute and even some ways for them to get past the fortifications when there is no one watching, but that’s a whole other story.

On this maps only waypoints have strategic value. In gw1 there was a wvw like mode with a very good map. Its name is fort aspenwood. The kurziks working on a super weapon what is progressing very slowly but can speed up the process with amber what can be mined on enemy territory. You can also use amber to repair gates. The main chamber is defended by one big gate but first you need to clear one of the 2 ways whats protected by 2 gates on each.
That was my favourite game mode and the real ancestor of wvw (and there was siege turtles and juggernauts what was awesome!)
Ppt is a boring mechanism. We need other, interesting ways to make points. For example bring the relics back but in a different way and/or make king of the hill events on a randem ruin every x minutes.
Everything can be fun if population is balanced and if no more time wasting t3 sieges

Why? Punishes the team that takes a lead and spent the time to siege up locations?

If a server can upgrade to full t3 and siege up it can do again. And this fortresses just ruin the good fights. A 5-10 min siege is more than enough.
I think wvw should evolv. Ppt is an old, boring system what promotes passivity. Sit in the full upgraded tower, drop a cow and laugh… What an exciting game. Ppt and upgrading is about avoid fights. Go to eotm if you want to wvw without fights

Btw have a lot of good gap closer. Dark path is a free for all because thats a death shroud skill. They can use wurm or the pull thing maybe bait and jump with the skill when they leave a green line behind. Chill them and walk or fear them in your direction… I know a thief have better but…
And you can backstab in every 3rd second while the cast+aftercast on rf is nearly 3 seconds (and as i see it have a moment of warmup) so thieves backstab twice and use other skills while we just pewpew with our bow
