Agreed, for much the same reasons; I love toughness. I’m currently working on a Settler’s Ele that I have really high hopes for.
~EW
-high five- Have fun with your Settler’s Ele!
It makes me sad when people underestimate Toughness.
As a full Knight Necro, I disagree about Toughness being useless. When we have 3 frogs at octovine in AB and everyone is on the ground, I am still hitting the octo with 50%+ health… When people aggro mobs at towers in DS they get downed in seconds, I can have 15+ mobs on me and still manage to run in circles until forever. When people die in dungeons I am the person who revives them while mobs are tickling my back. So far I haven’t died and only got downed 3 times on HoT maps since the expansion came out and I’m actually proud of that. So yeah, I want to keep my Toughness, thanks.
Revenant, because Leonardo DiCaprio is more entertaining to watch than Ben Affleck when I can’t be rockin’ my Warrior.

The REAL Daredevil is Charlie Cox, duh! :P
Well, I prefer easy content. When I play games I just want to relax and pwn everything.
If I want challenge, I log off and play real life.
Please fix it so I will finally like it enough to actually get it. :P
What do you mean by “drops”? As loot? No.
Or: No, they do not make gemstore armor sets anymore only parts (gloves, boots, etc). Anet “dropped” that idea.
Necro all the way.
Royal Terrace ever since I got it. First I thought it was a waste of money but it quickly became my favorite thing in the game. So comfy!
Most people quit due to content difficulty
My opinion is that as a Knight Necro I never get downed or die in HoT maps / story, thank you very much. LOL at people wearing full dps meta gear and complaining about “too difficult” content. Full dps gear can be nice if you can handle it, but 9 out of 10 people can’t. Just go to Dragon’s Stand. You will see 5+ people getting downed every second. It’s ridiculous yet they refuse to wear defensive stats. -shakes head-
Think of it this way. Say you work in real life at a minimum wage of 10 dollars an hour. It will take you 25 hours to buy it.
That awkward moment when minimum wage in my country is $3 / hour. The good thing about me is that I don’t want Legendaries, I prefer other weapon skins. I’ve been sitting on 10k+ gold thanks to multiloot, lol.
“EU” … “just spent the last hour trying to play games”
Um, it is 6 am here, what did you expect?
So when did we start hating GS? When Reaper came out, everyone was happy with it.
^ That is the reason why I always use short hairstyles in MMOs (and it makes me sad because I have long hair in real life). But anyway, yes, that would be awesome but probably won’t happen.
Aetherblade armor skins, please and thanks. I bought Gems with real money on my main account just for the Light version. Juuust saying. -puppy eyes and stuff-
I prefer the old, simple maps. I find HoT maps frustrating to explore / navigate.
They should start by getting rid of Ferocity and making crits 200% like other games. This would open up more room for defensive stats. Adjust condition damage accordingly!
Then get rid of signet and trait passives and get a new account-wide passive system at lvl80 that provides “unlockable” extra stats including 25% movement speed for everyone (this would be similar to Planar Attunement in RIFT).
Lower every skill cooldown in the game by 25-50% (depends on skill), get rid of -cd traits and add more fun traits instead.
Once these changes are done, they can do adjustments to every profession individually.
Electromagnetic Descender because it’s semi-transparent (and looks like an aura) and therefore it has no clipping issues with my back weapons (unlike most of the “back” gliders, my weapons clip through them).
I want it as armor, not a flipping outfit. Outfits ruin the whole concept of individualization in game.
^ This. A thousand times this.
Anything TIGHT without clipping issues, please and thanks. I am so tired of trenchcoats and puffy skirts that clip with every single weapon in the game…
Edit: Most GW1 Necro armor were awesome. Profane armor in GW2 is nice but not enough, need more tight stuff for every armor weight!!!

The classes are built around having specific playstyles, and thematic derived from that.
Necromancers are designed as damage soaker class, rather than a damage avoidance class. That is the playstyle that the class was given.
The problem however is that at higher levels of play avoidance mechanics trump everything else which leaves Necros in the dust.
Totally unpopular opinion here but I am a person with slow reaction times, I am horrible at timing “avoidance mechanics” and Shroud is more comfortable to me. I’ve had several professions at lvl80 and my Necro has the best survivability by far, because of Shroud (I play PvE and WvW occasionally).
I know many people don’t like the Shroud but you guys have plenty of other professions with “avoidance mechanics”, please leave the Necro alone because I love how easy it is to play (at least for a slow player like me). Sorry for my bad English!
Unfortunately, elitism can be found in every online game. Make your own parties or go with friends / guildies. I never use meta builds yet I always find people to play with. Welcome to GW2!
It used to be perfect but they ruined it.
Well since I have 28 characters on lvl 80, the first thing I did was do map completion on all of them.
Sometimes I hate being a mainoholic (one lvl 80 here).
Recoloring skills would be nice! Champions Online did it. :P I want purplish-pink Necro skills to match my Vision of the Mists greatsword.
I’m too lazy to read 7 pages, sorry if these were mentioned before:
1. PASSIVE REVIEW: Remove “Sigent passives” because they take up utility slots and get a new, separate “passive system” (more extra stats, including unlockable 25% movement speed). This should be something like Planar Attunment in RIFT (account-bound and can be leveled by earning exp anywhere in the game).
2. COOLDOWN REVIEW: Cooldowns on some skills are ridiculously high. No weapon cooldown should be more than 20 sec. Halve most utility and profession-specific cooldowns (especailly the ones over 20 sec). After that, remove the -20% cooldown traits and add more useful / fun traits.
3. REMOVE FEROCITY AND MAKE CRIT DMG 200%: Just like in most other MMOs, crits should be double damage, hands down. Removing Ferocity opens up more room for defensive stats (the end of the Berserker meta). Adjust condition damage accordingly.
Well, I often do EotM and I’m sitting on 8million karma so I guess it’s decent.
I finished map completion on my Necro and it was fun (and fast in my opinion), I only used signet of the locust and the leap on shroud #2 (I don’t care much about permaswiftness as long as I have +25% passive speed). The stun break / condi removal on shroud activation traits (foot in the grave, shrouded removal) also help against spiders and other mobs that cc you. I used them and I was unstoppable.
Yeah, we can’t wear them together. It’s one of the reasons why I never buy outfits.
I think EVERYTHING should be redyeable. But if I remember correctly, Anet said that was not possible because of coding or whatever…
I love the ele but I hate how easy she dies. I think that make me more upset than anything in this game is dieing all the time. Every once in a while ok np I might laughter but when I die 4 times in 5 min that is to much haha
Use some defensive stats. My Celestial Ele never dies. Do not go blindly after the meta. Not everyone can handle pure dps builds.
Once I’m done loading into map 1, I switch from group 1 to group 2
Wait, what? You’re not supposed to “load into” map 1 (lobby). You just drag yourself to lobby to switch to an other map (2+) so people don’t join the wrong map.
Example: If you are in group 2 and instantly jump to group 3 without dragging yourself to lobby, then someone who wants to go to 2 will end up in 3 because of you.
Aetherblade armor skins, please!!!
I like the Toxic Skale and the Air Elemental. The reason why I’m not fond of minis is because they get disabled in crowded places and I have to re-enable them manually (and 99% of the time I am too lazy to do that so I just forget they exist).
Me too, I actually like Trahearne.
Norn female is worse imo. When they moan they sound like a guy.
They don’t hate the skin. They hate the fact that it shows through the back of your head.
This is the reason why I don’t even bother getting it. It’s a huge turn off for me.
More like we need hammers that don’t have clipping issues with my characters’ head.
Weird, I don’t have an SSD either and my loading screens only last for 1 or 2 seconds. I can easily loot 10 maps, if my map finishes fast I can do a few more on an other character.
The weird thing about outfits is that other MMOs have them, they are usually not even recolorable yet people are happy with them. The reason why we don’t like them in GW2 is because first we had armor transmuting (+ gem store armor skins) and that cool system was basically killed (or “slowed down”) because of outfits. If we got outfits from the beginning, no one would complain.
“Mix-n-match” has spoiled us, lol. I only have one outfit and I use it on my lvling characters to hide the ugly gear but I would never wear them at lvl80, I prefer my own unique look. And yes, I would like to see new armors but I’m afraid it’s not gonna happen anytime soon.
pfff. I thoroughly research each class of a game before I pick my first main because I intend to play them the longest.. I chose right, Mesmer has over a thousand hours more next to my next most-played class.
I also did my research but I honestly didn’t even like any of the professions first. So I went with Warrior because I liked the survivability. I’ve been playing MMOs since 2004 and I know what I like: archers, tanks, healers but those are all different in GW2 so choosing a main was hard in this game.
When I was new I didn’t know what to pick as a main so I chose Warrior because “you can’t go wrong with the profession that has the highest base def and hp”. It was my biggest mistake because I didn’t truly enjoy Warrior but I didn’t want to level up again (it was slow as a newbie) so I got bored and I quit for months. Later I came back and leveled some characters to 80 with the help of EotM and now I’m a happy Necro main!
+1. I’m not even colorblind but those red circles are hard to see. We need more options at the game settings (thicker circles, different colors, filled up circles like in HoT story, etc).
This has been annoying me since 2012. Could we PLEASE do something about these puffy leafy skirts? ALL 3 Light bottom parts have clipping issues! Could we please get a mini skirt made of grass or something??? -begs on knees-
(I’m not sure about Medium and Heavy armor because I only play Necro but I know Medium has nice pants. Light has absolutely no choice on female Sylvari because of clipping).
I went to three multi loots today, and was kicked for the following reasons:
1: 2min afk in subgroup 1/lobby, because I forgot my keys and ported back to Lions arch and was supposedly camping the lobby..
2: Apperantly loading a map for 7secs qualifies as horrendous loading times and gets you kicked.
3: Communicated my map was failing, left it and got kicked for abbondoning a promising map. With only 2 minutes left and south still on 80% ….
Sounds like you joined a squad with a bad commander. I’ve blocked several rude multiloot comms. Better join a ML guild or stick with “good” comms (add them to friend list). Good ones don’t even kick for dc unless you don’t come back in a few minutes. I’ve been doing ML with friends / guild since forever without issues…
It really is nice outside, everyone should try it once and a while. I took this one this past weekend.
Hey, nice graphics! Where can I download this “outside”? :P
legendary armor will just be for style
The sad thing is that when Legendary armor comes out, most characters in the game will look the same. Just like now most people wear the same ugly oversized Legendary back item and the Legendary weapons (with hideous clipping issues most of the time). They are so common now I yawn each time I see one. To me, Legendary stuff mean lack of creativity and showoff craze.
I’ve been playing GW2 since 2012 because:
+ It’s buy to play. I live in a poor country and $15 is a lot of money here, this is why I can’t play P2P MMOs. But I buy GW2 Gems occasionally (usually $10 twice a year).
+ I enjoy PvE (especially meta events) and WvW.
+ I actually enjoy PvP too but I’m kinda bad at it.
+ I love the GW2 lore and the characters.
+ I love my own characters and customization (skins, dyes).
+ I think the combat system is fun and the professions are great.
+ When I log on I always have something to do.
+ Sylvari!
I feel your pain. I hope the Aetherblade armor sets come back soon because I want the LIGHT version sooo much to finish my new look.
Someone please upload a video of that sound, I’m very curious but I don’t want to waste karma on the armor, lol.
