Sounds a lot like lag to me.

This event is in Diessa and starts just north from Nolan waypoint to escort Rhell Crankmane from ghosts while he sets up some machinery. I just did this event for the third or fourth time and again noticed how unbalanced it is. It is seriously annoying and takes forever. Either mark it as a group event or tone down the spawnrate of the ghosts. The NPC dies almost immediately, the progress bar is insanely slow, there are two points that need to be setup and the entire area is so packed with ghosts with extreme spawn rates that you constantly pull unwanted adds. I don’t even have time to rez the NPC before 3-4 new ghosts spawn and target immediately the NPC. This is a low lvl event. I did it several times with high level chars that are very fast in killing off the mobs and it still takes me forever. For a relatively new player this should be extremely frustrating. It is one of the worst escort missions in the entire game. Please tone it down a notch.

I love minis. The toys for Wintersday are wonderful. We need a slot to have our minis constantly out.

Also I’m still miffed they didn’t bring a SABunny minipet for the last SAB again. Tables have been flipped. =D

I agree, missing so many POIs with no obvious maps incomplete points to the WvW maps.
If just one POI is missing, Chantry of Secrets. It’s always Chantry of Secrets.

Maybe because that “hotfix” patch is more than 1.5 Gbyte large.

Downloaded it, kept an eye on the size, it’s 55Mb. Pretty usual for a GW2 bugfix.
I also expect at least two more bugfixes in the next few days unless they keep it till the next update.
I still love the fixes. That they fix so many bugs in so short amount of time is great. Some poor dev is probably chained to his chair until the fix is out. Hope they serve tons of eggnog and gingerbred

Happened to me a few times. Is worse when you’re a Norn. Should be an old bug, used to happen in the teleport worm in SAB very often. Dodging does fix it, as Hellblade said.

Yup, for me too. I like the dolyak the best but I admit I sometimes used it for my Charr to slim down his huge hidquarters for a few jumps =p

I find middle to be the easiest, not by performance, but it usually is the melody part which makes it easier to remember.

I also like playing low, I just adore the sound of the bell itself in that range.

How did you come up with the bell minigame? I love it so much! Did you have to fight a lot against the game system to make it work? Will there be new songs to play?

Absolutely agree. People playing songs during the waiting periods is so much fun. Mostly simple carols. There were even impromptus of groups that played together. All people seemed to be so friendly and nice. AND you are surrounded by cute little toys watching your performance. It was the most pleasant place to be in all of Tyria.

Easy, you already have a range indicator on all skills. If a target will be out of range, a red bar appears. If this bar appears on the second portal icon the instant you run out of range, you notice and can go back. Problem solved ._.

Am I really the only one that is excited to see that particular game back?
It was the only content I played in the patch last year.
Absolutely loved it. Loved the music, the gameplay. Soooo happy to see it back.

Choose traits for the abilities they give.
Choose gear for the stats that compliment your way of playing and the abilities that you have chosen.

Example: you play heavy on condition damage, choose traits that apply conditions and abilities that increase condition duration and condition damage. The stats the lines give are of secondary importance. Build condition damage via gear, for example dire stats.

I have 11 chars, of them 7 at 80, soon 8. Zero have ascended weapons. Equally as many will get ascended armor. Not worth the time and effort involved when having more than one character or even more than one build.

Everyone is bickering about ascended gear.

And I’m just sitting here, silently squeeing in delight that the bell choir game will be back =D

Also Scarlet isn’t our personal nemesis. She barely notices the player character. She just sees Tyria as a whole. Scarlet attacks Tyria, not my character, so personal nemesis doesn’t fit here. I guess meeting your personal nemesis refers to you finally being able to whoop Trahearne’s leafy hindquarters in the chambers.

Gem price is exactly the same as it was at launch. It is Gold that looses worth.

I like Scarlet. I liked her background story, I like the voice acting. I like the cutscenes featuring her.

Most issues I have with her is how she is presented during the LS itself. If someone hasn’t read her story, she has zero character, just some random nut. And since we have no new material on her. No character development, nothing.
She is slowly descending into a one dimensional cardboard cutout.

Give us character, something to care about. The Living Story needs a STORY. Story is more than “stuff happened”. And lately, it’s not even that anymore, by now it is only ‘Scarlet happened’. No surprises, no plot twists, no character dilemmas, zip.
The dialogue of the characters in the nightmare chambers is a start in the right direction. Give me something like this for Scarlet. Make me care about her beyond “she sure be crazy, hurr”. Her most redeeming factor is the voice acting that brings her at least a bit life.
Even I was disappointed when I saw Scarlet in the thaumanova fractal.

tl,dr: The problem isn’t with Scarlet, it’s the writing of the LS.

Theoretically yes. You can unlock the skill also via 25 skillpoints which is admittedly a LOT. You don’t desperately need it. When you come close to the entrances you will see machines making see through domes around them. These are antitoxin sprayers. Cuddle up to them and debuff is gone. These antitoxin sprayers were developed in the “the nightmare within” story part and since they are working now (Marjory developed the antitoxin with player help) we are now able to go into the tower, that is the story explanation =)

Yup. Most of us have piles and piles of Bloodstone Dust sitting around. Use a crafting booster for added crafting speed. Expect the process to be expensive…. really expensive…

One fast tip: don’t be afraid to ask. The overwhelming majority of the community is very nice and you will almost always find someone in mapchat to answer your question. If you are in the starting zones, you will see in mapchat advertisement for guilds who take new players. Join one of them to quickly find a lot of friends to help you =)

Refine ascended materials is the standard way to do it. at 450 the reciepes should have unlocked in your list.

Sometimes you can have 99% (with bad rounding even 100%) overall but all maps completed, only the Chantry of Secrets missing. You usually recieve the chest in the last zone that you completed as long as you are not in an instance.

Www sounds awesome after reading on it, I gave it a shot a while back on my warrior, I came up against a guardian who looked experienced, my numbers were showing on him that I actually did damage on him but his health bar didnt move a inch while mine went down pretty fast even thou I dodged a few attacks, I came to the conclusion of me being to low geared even tho being scaled to level 80 and never came back. I would mind joining thos e zergs tho :p

If you are looking for coordinated groups taking control over large structures via siege weapons, give WvW a try. Look if there is a commander on the map (will show up with a blue icon on the map, you might have seen it in the Queensdale Champ train) and follow the large group to learn the basics. You are also safer there.
The Guardian you encountered was probably max lvl, but that wasn’t the problem. The way you described it my guess is it was a retribution guard. Meaning he was insanely tanky built, he takes minimum damage and sacrifices damage output. BUT he keeps the buff retribution up, which gives you a part of the damage back that you do on him. Basically, you killed yourself with your own attacks. That is what hit you.
Max lvl is nice for WvW but not required, there are a ton of twinks running around there. Happy hunting =)

The next patch is out, the story has progressed. Marjory and Kasmeer have entered the tower to fight the Alliance. You can join them by going to Kessex Hill and enter the tower at the places marked on the map by golden swirls. Good Luck =)

Try zoning into the last zone you completed. Then out again. Inside an instance (Chantry of Secrets) you will not recieve the chest until you return to the open world.

I agree, I only got the mail on one character and that one is my bank character being in my bank guild. The mail mentions taking up new players to boost guild influence. My guess is they want to encourage small guilds to socialize with new players to integrate them.

Did anyone mark them on one map yet? They might make a pattern or give us a hint at how certain locations were chosen?

Transmutation Splitters. Where is the problem?

I am starting to think positive of a complete server rollback. We had it before when cultural armor went to other races and it would obviously please people that made characters just for an armour.

They will give you the gems back. So no problem there. If you liked the design, just buy the human T3 as it was just a lazy reskin anyway.

My question was simply when the explosion took place. 1 year ago? 5 years ago? Considering the Living Story as “now” and happening after the Personal Story, where in relation was the explosion? Minimum is one year ago shortly before the game chronology startet, but then the C.L.E.A.N.5000 was already up and running so it should be at least a few months on top. Searched the Wiki and the few timelines I have, but it`s mentioned nowhere. I even went through a few NPC dialogues, but none of the ones I found said anything about time.

Hey, everyone. We’ve been reading all your feedback about the Flamekissed Armor Skin that was released into the Gem Store yesterday.

Although the Flamekissed Armor uses the same mesh as the Tier 3 Human Cultural Armor, it was not our intention to create an armor skin that so closely matched the existing Tier 3 Human Cultural armor set. The intention was to use the mesh as a basis for creating an armor set that stands apart and is distinct in appearance. However, after reading your feedback, we agree that the Flamekissed armor is not visually distinct enough from Human Cultural Tier 3 armor.

We will do a few things to address this issue.

• We will temporarily remove Flamekissed Armor Skin from the Gem Store.
• Players who have purchased Flamekissed Armor Skin will keep the skin.
• We will make new art for the Flamekissed Armor Skin that achieves our goal of making a visually distinct and attractive armor set and does not closely resemble the Human Tier 3 Cultural armor.
• Once this new artwork is completed, we will then update the Flamekissed Armor Skin so that all existing sets that players have purchased get the new art. We will also offer the Flamekissed Armor Skin for sale again at that time.
• When we update the Flamekissed Armor Skins with the new artwork, any player that has already purchased the set and who does not like the new, updated look, can get a full refund by contacting Customer Support.

Note that there is no ETA on when this change will happen. We need to work with the Character Art Team to determine when we can have a new armor skin ready, and this could take some time.

Quick question to the lore masters: when exactly was the Thaumanova explosion? On the one hand we still see effects of it in Metrica and Brisbane. Although rips in the fabric of spacetime probably take a while to heal. On the other hand, since it was original content, it definitely took place well before the Personal Story starts and in the meantime the C.L.E.A.N.5000 has been build. Yup, the upscaling is silly, especially since it doesn`t scale down again. I’ve been running floor 3 alone several time, but on the overwhelming majority even when I’m completely alone on the entire floor, I will run into an upscaled champ that will curb stomp me within seconds once all my CDs are popped.
