They should. I hate the need to login my main just to make inscriptions/insignias (I have no reason to buy twice and some of them are really expansive) to make some armor/weapon.
Also, like Aerinndis said (^), is really hard to keep track of which recipes I have already.
I see no reason why they are caracter bound instead of account.
One big problem of the Rune of Defender, the #6 bonus will always start on cooldown because of the perma Aegis that Guard have…
Hey all. These suggestions are mainly to make the skills more viable and fluid to use.
SWORD
Sword Wave (auto 3): Remove the projectiles. This feature is awful on a melee weapon because of the asbsorbs/reflects. But the main reason for me, it is awful is if your target is a little bit higher or lower than you, your attack will miss.
Flashing Blade: This skill does near no damage and is often used as mobility skill, but with a restriction (needs a target) and even being a teleport have a very small cast time. Compared with Leap of Faith (GS#3), this skill is really bad (both are mobility, both have the same range, both have blind, but GS#3 actually does damage and is a leap finisher with very little more CD). Just a small change, add 1~2 stacks of burning for 3 seconds and change to be a leap finisher, there are other teleport skills that are leap finishers (mesmer staff #2 and mesmer sword #3), so I see no reason to.
Zealot’s Defense: Remove the root, if the the root is removed this skill actually could be used to attack fleeing foes or to charge aganist ranged foes. This skill already is a DPS loss if the auto is broken to be used. Second suggestion: This skill still roots, but projectiles pierce through foes.
HAMMER
Symbol of Protection: Reduce the cast time to 1 second from ~1.25. Reduce the damage of the hammer hit and symbol damage to keep the same DPS. Reason: This will make the hammer a lot more fluid, the Protection uptime increase won’t really impact and will make Symbolic Avenger trait more viable to use without Writ of Persistence trait on Hammer. This is a long time request from players.
Banish: Increase the number of targets to 3. Reason: This skill have a huge telegraph, is really easy to be avoided and only hits 1 person. I really think that this skill needs a change to be more viable and this might be the way (the skill would be still easy to dodge). With this change, this skill could actually be used to disable a group of foes and have a better role.
MACE
Faithful Strike: Reduce the cast time to 0.75 second from 1. Reduce the damage of this skil to keep the same DPS. Increase the number of foes to 3. Reason: This will make the skill more fluid and the heal would proc more often (the heal is very low).
Symbol of Faith: Reduce the cast time to 0.75~1 second from ~1.25. I don’t know the reason to Mace skills have that much cast time considering that have no gap closer or CC/soft CC. These suggestions would make the Mace less turtle and more fluid.
TORCH
Cleansing Flame: Reduce the channel time to 2.5~3 seconds from ~4.25. Right now this skill is just a DPS loss even on burning builds to be used, the channel time is just too high. In that way it would be more useful.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Note that I tried avoid to buff things, but to make the skills more fluid and viable.

I believe that the shield is meant to be a support weapon to Guardain class. Right now, I feel this weapon is ok how it is.
The real problem is the trait, it is awful. The buff was meaningless, just look at all shield traits (warrior, engie and revenant) and you’ll know how bad it is. The revenant trait is GM, but engie and warrior are adept, so no reason to be that bad. They should add 2 seconds of resistence (or other boon) to you and allies when you cast an shield ability intead of the extra toughness (this weapon is meant to be supportive, not selfish).
It is bugged, yes. I already reported in game and on reddit. Hopefully this gets fixed soon. But it will take a while looks like.
Soul Eater
Reduces recharge on Greatsword skills. (20%)
All attacks whilst wielding a Greatsword cause Life steal. (50 damage/40 healing)
Greatsword attack speed is increased by 15%.Discuss.
Very interesting suggestion, right now this trait is useless compared with the other options. The Life steal. (50 damage/40 healing) wouldn’t be that bad if you consider that GS can hit 3~5 targets, even if is slow. But what really would shine is the CD reduction and 15% atk speed.
Also, the Life steal could trigger with any skill while GS is equiped, something like Zealous Blade trait of Guardian (would work on utilities).

Love that idea for putting a symbol on sword #2.
If it had one I’d like to see it grant might.
Something like
Flashing Blade: Teleport to your foe blinding them, When you arrive place a symbol of might.
Symbol of Might: Grants 10 seconds of might per pulse, pulses 3 times, does 100 + 25% of power as damage per pulse.
I think that a “symbol of ire” or another name that pulses 1 seconds of fury would be more interesting (let the might be of Scpeter expertise). It would trigger only if hits and pulses 3 times. Damage is about 50~75% of the Symbol of Protection damage. Would be interesting.
On your suggestions (my comments are in bold, italic and underline):
Virtue of Justice (F1): CD reduced to 20 seconds.
Virtue of Resolve (F2): CD reduced to 30 seconds.
Virtue of Courage (F3): CD reduced to 60 seconds. Aegis Refresh rate changed to 30 seconds. (20 seconds traited)
Merciful Intervention: Reduced CD to 40, changed text to “Shadowstep to the targeted area and heal around them. If no ally is present in the targeted area, this ability will heal for only 50%.” (Interesting idea, but only a CD reduction to 30 seconds would be enough to be useful)
Litany of Wrath: Doubled the initial self heal. (This skill actually is ok if traited now on PvE, but still weak on PvP/WvW)
Retreat: CD reduced to 30 seconds. Very good suggestion
Hold the Line: CD reduced to 30 seconds. I also agree
Stand your Ground: Stability stacks increased to 10 up from 5. Is interesting considering the stun fest on WvW, but I’m not sure if I agree
Save Yourselves: Added 10 seconds of Aegis, Stability (1 Stack) and 2 seconds of Resistance. I don’t agree, it would be too powerful, maybe add only 1 of these boons?
Receive the Light: CD reduced to 35, doubled healing power scaling. Very interesting, but only 30 seconds CD and no extra healing
Feel my Wrath: CD reduced to 40 seconds. Okish
Purging Flames: Will now convert 3 conditions into boons upon activation. I don’t agree, right now is 100% fine (very good on burning builds)
Hallowed Ground: CD reduced to 60 seconds. Pulsing Stability increased to 3 stacks, will now also pulse resistance for 1 second. I only agree with the CD reduction, and maybe increase the duration of the stability to 3 from 2 seconds. Remember that also increase boon duration by 20% and is a fire field, but this skill really needs a buff
Sanctuary: CD reduced to 60 seconds, radius increased to 240, healing per second increased by 100% Maybe reduce the CD to 70 seconds, but don’t change anything more
Wall of Relection: no changes.
Signet of Mercy: CD reduced to 90, Radius increased to 600. Active changed to “Revive a nearby downed or dead player” (preference for fully dead players). I don’t agree, in my opinion, it should have its cast time reduced to 2 seconds and not revive dead players, maybe a little of CD reduced, but what this skill really needs is a cast time reduced
Signet of Courage: CD reduced to 120 seconds, passive heal halved, pulse intervall halved. Casttime reduced to 4 seconds, active can now be cast while moving and gain 3 stacks of stability upon activation. In my opinon the cast time should be reduced even more, something like 3~3.5 seconds and the passive should be on every 5 seconds but with the healing reduced by ~40%, not 50%

Signet of Wrath: changed from condition damage to precision on its passive. – Right now the passive is worthless on most cases, who played as buning guardian knows this is a dead slot compared with any other option to add damage and even as precision would help burning guardians if they use this signet.
On Spirit weapons [link] I don’t belive they need a redesign, only some adjustments/buffs. Also the cast time should be reduced to 0.75 seconds (also with minions and elementals)
On wepons I will only opine on what I belive that needs changes
Hammer:
AA: Decreased to casttime of Symbol of Protection to 1 second down from 1 1/4. Also reduce the last hit of the chain and the symbol damage to keep the same DPS
Banish: Reduced casttime to 3/4 down from 1 second, CD reduced to 20. Okish, but it could instead cleave
Mace:
AA: Faithful Strike: Reduced the cast time to 0.75 second, reduced the damage to keep the same DPS. This skill now cleave
Symbol of Faith: Reduced the cast time to 0.75~1 second.
Sword:
AA: Sword Wave no longer shots projectiles.
Flashing Blade: This skill also apply 2 (maybe only 1) stacks of burning for 3 seconds and is now a leap finisher.
Zealots Defense: Can now be cast while moving or the projectiles pierces.
Torch:
Cleansing Flame: Will now remove 1 condition from the guardian at the start and the end of the cast. Interesting suggestion, I though once to remove 2 conditions of the Guardian on the end of the channel. But what would be really interesting is to reduce the cast time to 3 seconds instead (maybe even 2.5 seconds), in this way this skill would be viable on burning builds.

Ranger Shouts got some love (it was useless as Spirit Weapons), so maybe the love for Spirit Weapons is near?
Retreat is great. It removing soft cc might be nice too; to make it comparable to its peers.
Pure of heart is incredibly mediocre. But I could say the same about its peer traits.
Interesting concept. If Retreat remove all soft CCs (chill, cripple and Immo) It would be a lot more useful.
But I think that a cooldown reduction (say 30s) would make more sense so it would pair up with Pure of Voice and Pure of Heart better, making these traits more viable.
Hold the line also should have a CD decrease, like 30s. It is very small, but would be a great improvement to support builds.
I have a shout build, it is too far from viable builds. Does not worth now.
About the Autotargeting, it should show somewhere when its on or off, maybe in the combat dialog. And I must say, I’m in love with that.
Also in love with the object names, I finally can release my Ctrl key =O. How something so simple can be a such life change?

That JP was really bad implemented, I needed a lot of tries to get it, but the worst part is to climb it again, if if fall during the climb or worst, die from the top wherethat stupid false wall is, a real pain.
They should remove that wall from the top at least.

Play as Burn Guard in PvE, you’ll cry even more. Even in WvW is complicated, with the immune fire elementals in shirines.
But I agree, they should updade all old deafiance mechanic to the new one. And remove a few exceptions where the NPC is immune to soft CC, should be changed to be no effect on them but still apply.
I don’t believe they will change much, for the same reason DH virtues are a lot more useful than Guardian core (you literally have no reason to activate them if not traited), even if they have cast time.

I cannot get the Machined Greatsword Hilt from Noxious Pods. I did a 2 hour event for nothing, so frustrating. I already have the Machined Longbow, and I got the item from first Noxious Pod that I opened, and this one I just cannot get.

I still donest’ get why do you use honor instead of radiance or even dragonhunter instead. The only good think that honor provides is 3k of health and nothing more. All other traits of honor doesn’t bring much.
I used to play as burning before HoT, but it is not viable as used to be and the Power play recieved a lot of buffs via DH. You lose too much sustain to build up a burning build, where a Power build does not. Hopefully there are positive changes on condition to Guardian on the next balance patch. (I don’t really believe so lol)
I always wanted a Scepter Auto buff, but not sure if is too much. They might have tested it, so it’s not OP as we think. At least I hope so.

I’m looking for a guild with Lost Precipice and Ore unlocked. I want to craft the Shimmering Sword, but my main guild has Gilded Hollow
What I really want to know is will they actually buff what doesn’t work, if they buff what already has a place (what is show) and don’t touch what is useless I’ll outrage.
All my characters often say this for no reason. All of them are human male and female, I don’t know if this bug is present on other races.
This has become annoying.
What the class need to be buffed or changed:
- Spirit Weapons;
- Signet Skills (nearly al of them);
- Hallowed Ground;
- Sanctuary;
- A LOT of traits;
- Sword skills;
- Mace skills (many will desagree, but this weapon sucks);
- And some Hammer skills.
But I don’t think that any of these will get touched. We’ll wait to see.
Hopefully the traps are still viable to use if they nerf, if not, we’ll get back to the “in a good place” with meditations being the only viable option until the next xpac.

This trait (grandmaster of Dragon Hunter) is not working with Shield #5 (Shield of Absorbtion).

I guess this skill has some path issue with the arrow or a landing issue. Sometimes it triggers on the wall, sometimes doesn’t (does literally nothing). But I belive this problem is not restricted to walls. I’ll report in game.
Anyone know if Warrior LB #3 has some issue against walls? Considering that works very similar.
Is the Long Bow #4 (Symbol of Energy) bugged?
It often does nothing sometimes in WvW, usually at walls, I hit the wall and the Symbol doesn’t shows up and the skill is just wasted.

Hi.
I’m theorycrafting a build and want to know, what sigil should I use: Bloodlust or Cruelty.
In my build I’ll have:
- 2260 power.
- 51% critical chance. (already considering perma fury, 31% without fury)
- 152% critical damage. (almost no ferocity)
Which rune will have bigger impact on DPS? Sigil of Bloodlust or Cruelty?
Someone already posted once on how to make the calculations regarding power, crit chance and crit damage, but couldn’t find the post.

AA#3: Be straight line instead of spread out, but keep the three hits.

Your suggestions are very interesting. All of them. With it, the sword would actually be more useful, I mainly use as mobility weapon. (I use the sword only on my Hybrid Guardian).
Only afew things I would add to your suggestions: remove the projectile from AA#3 and make Flashing Blade a Leap finisher.
The projectile from AA#3 has too much terrain issues and is a big nerf aganist reflects or projectile destruction skills that the weapon doesn’t really needs. The AA is melee, shouldn’t have projectiles.
To replace the near useless Radiant Retaliation we could have Searing Flames back.
It could be:
Searing Flames: “When you apply burning, remove a boon. 5~7 seconds of cooldown.”.
Also, they could add back to the Perfect Inscriptions the “Inscribed Removal” (eemove a condition when using a signet). That would help a lot to make them more viable.

Scribes also have issues with missing recipes.
Also Commander Trinket Recipes (Amulet, Ring and Earring). There is no way to make Commander Trinkets because there is no Recipe for them. I really want to try a new build, hopefully this is fixed soon.
Is there honestly any reason to use Signet of Courage over Feel My Wrath? The active effect of SoC is great and all but on a 180 second CD, and with a 10 second ICD on the passive, it’s really not that great.
6 seconds of quickness and 12 seconds of Fury on a 36 second cooldown (traited for CD/condition conversion) just seems to offer far more utility and, ultimately, outweigh the potential benefit that SoC would give.
Please, correct me if I’m wrong. I want to like SoC…
Also, don’t forget the 4.5 seconds of cast time on Signet of Courage. This elite is very underwhelming. Have too much cast time, have too much CD, and the passive heals too low and have too longer CD than should.
My main problem of Spirit Weapons are:
- The cooldown are too high for their effects. Like all summon skills they already have high cast time, but lowest duration compared to other summons. They also die very easy. The cooldown should be reduced to 20 for sword, 30 for hammer and 45 for shield and bow at least.
- The command of the sword miss too often and takes a long delay. It should “jump” to your target before casting and the delay should be reduced a bit.
- The 3rd hit of auto hammer should be a knockdown instead a knockback. This really keep me way from this skill because of that. This only disrupt yourself and allies.
- The command cooldown of the Bow should be reduced to 14~15 seconds (down from 20). In that way if you trait Expeditious Spirit (11~12 seconds of CD for the command) you’ll able to use the command one extra time, right now you can only use twice regardless. With 14~15 seconds you’ll still only able to command twice.
- The auto “attack” of the bow is really weak. In my opinion, it should be changed to attack a enemy (does damage, can be very low – this will make the burning of Expeditious Spirit more viable) and heal and remove one condition in an area around the target, could have a ~5 second delay from attacks. Also make this heal scales with healing power.
- The command of the Shield should be redesigned in my opinion, it is really hard to control where it activates. It should have something like 5~10 seconds of cooldown and be AoE. Any allies in the AoE would get Aegis and enemies get Weakness (or just one or even none) and the activation should be instant for the Stun Breaker be realiable. The Shield would stay at that place untill a new the Shield is commanded again or if Guardian moves away too much from the shield. Right now you have no control of the shield and it often bubbles were shouldn’t (that helps to it get killed very easy). For that reason plus indestructible and reflects, Wall of Reflection will always be better than this skill.
The spirit weapons are the utilities that need more help right now in the game. They are too weak.

Hallowed Ground and Sanctuary should get a CD decrease first to test if they would come viable in that way, something like 60 seconds for Hallowed Ground and 90 seconds for Sanctuary. If they are still too weak, then could try new things.
But I agree. These 2 skills are near useless.
Currently, there is no way to get Commander (Maguuma Burl) Trinkets (Amulet, Ring and Earring) Recipes, only “Recipe: Exquisite Burl Jewel” can be acquired on Dragon Stand vendor.
Also, there are new Gear Stats that use Charged Quartz to make them, like Commander and Wanderer.
I agree. There should be more nodes.
I checked at Wiki, TP (looked for all recipes and unmarked “show only avaliable”), Google and I couldn’t find.
If a Dev read this, can verify? Doesn’t need to say how to obtain it, but if is obtainable.

Currently there is no way to get the Recipes for Maguuma Burl (Commander) Trinkets (Amulet, Ring and Accessory). I’ve searched everywhere and found a post on Reddit complainning the same. The recipes can’t be found.

I searched for every Recipe in Trading Post. Either it is account bound or is impossible to make Trinkets with Commander stats.
Or are these from discovery?
