Hey guys just an update:
Our Network Engineering Team has thoroughly investigated this issue and we have been unable to find anything that would indicate that this is an issue on our end. This does appear to be a widespread issue in the Latin American region which spans multiple countries and so I would recommend getting in contact with your ISP to see if there is anything on their end that can be done to alleviate some of this lag.
I’m sorry for any inconvenience and frustration this may have caused you all but unfortunately there isn’t anything that we can do in this particular case as it appears to be affecting multiple games and multiple ISP’s within this region.
I don’t have any trouble with any other game from US, only the gw2. I have problems with all services related to gw2, including web sites and forums. I really don’t think that is a ISP problem related.
I’m so sorry, but if you cannot fix it, it is a good bye, becouse the game is just unplayable right now.
Also I don’t think that is only in Latin America, since a lot of people from other places, like Oceania, Europe and even Canada have this issue.
It’s sad that you can not see where the problem is, when everyone has realized that it is in your server.
The worst part is that this is one of the best games I ever played and I will abandon it for a foolish reason.

What they should do is buffing/creating new farming spots. (Cused Shore, I miss you!)
The only legendary that I could think to use is Twillight and the shield (don’t remember the name), but will never try to do this becouse is insane the effort needed to just get a “good look”. In general, almost all legendaries look ugly to me, they are only “ooooh, shiny”. The legendaries stats should be a little bit better than exotics to really worth the big effort (maybe +10, +5, +5 in their stats).
Since the recent patch, I started to use mistfire wolf instead of renewed focus. I don’t like to use tomes becouse I always dies (in PvP and WvW) or is useless (in PvE), but in dungeons is somewhat good for support.
I use 1/2 zerker 1/2 knight and works very well for me (I also tend to GS/Scpeter/torch in dungeons – 0/x/30/30/x). Also with AH + EM u’ll do a great support and heal yourself. U can try go shouts too (depending even using soldier runes or even the Pure of Voice).
In this way u’ll get a great DPS and great sustain.

Since a lot of people are asking for, they are increasing the risk, trying to make the game more challenger. But without increasing the reward (and even lowering – read Orr) there is no reason to try this “challenge”. See what happened to Orr, that happened with grenth temple, what will happen to Jormag.
I have no reason to try kill a Champion to drop a blue or even white item (never droped even a green) if I can drop yellows more easly and often from normal monsters. Even veterans I’ll avoid. Champions should be a guaranteed yellow at last.
MMORPGs aren’t console games that your objective is finish the game through a challenge. MMORPG are endless and ur objective is to become better and have items (to become better). That are the role of the MMOs, in my opinion, that is a big risk with a big reward from items, not the challenge itself only. I know they are trying to break paradigms and make the game better, but they are doing it in the wrong way!

I was trying a 30/0/0/30/10 and switched to 30/0/10/20/10 to see what happens. In my opnion, the spirit weapons provide a lot of bust damage, also with mistfire wolf buff is amazing in PvE. I use sword, hammer and shield spirit weapons, reducing 20% cooldown, not destroing on command and plus 50% duration is a always spirit together. the shield seems useless in PvE but with command (applies weakness) and aganist ranged is almost a full time immune to ranged atks.
I tried in PvP, I tried to make it work, but not worth.
In WoE, I didn’t test yet.

I begun using sword as my 2nd set, but after trying scepter (before the patch), I never come back to use sword again. Scepter is better becouse bring more DPS and resistence and even AoE. DPS becouse scpeter outdps sword easly (#1 scepter out dps #1 sword; #2 specter out dps #3 sword [also shorter cooldown on scepter]; #3 scepter is more damage oriented than #2 sword), resistence becouse u can stay at distance (and even immob) and more AoE becouse sword = 0 AoE. Not only this, but scepter also allows to not be kitten (since it’s the only ranged offensive oriented weapon).
Also scepter works really well with your other set becouse u can immob and throw smite then change to ur 2nd set.
But sword is more defensive than scepter. But for defensive, I prefer mace or even hammer.
I guess that I’ll only back to sword when they change some thing. For me there are no reason to use sword than travel faster in a map using flashing blade (with judge’s intervention).

PS: In my opnion, sword #2 should work like Ele dagger #4, that allows u to teleport to the direction that u are facing.

What I fear is that they worry more about it and fail to carry out the most basic things such as balance and the enviroment itself (which is now happening a lot of discussion around effort[and time spent] Vs reward).

My only concern in this game is the WvW. That is no tactics, and workgroup, is only one person with a zerg attacking one place and some small groups just trying to kill something. To atk some fortress, u just need a ton of people to assault.
I could be wrong, and considering that I not played a lot of MMOs, like I never played WoW (please don’t throw a rock on me!), would be nice to have something between sPvP and WvW, like guild(s) vs guild(s) (“guild wars”) that require an average group and can be strategic, cooperative and more fun than zerg vs zerg. That would be really interesting, I would love to play something like that.
What I ever wanted is key to equips. I hate to open my inventory every time to change my equips. (Mainly tinkets that I have to open the Hero Painel and click-move to the 2nd slot manually).
In my opnion, the main problem of Guardians is mobility, also guards have the worst ranged atks in the game. These problems should be analyzed.
Eh not sure if I think a bow really fits a guardian. I would like to be scepter reworked where the AA just smites the enemy with a beam from heaven or something (Totally thinking Fist of the heavens from diablo 2 pally here) And smite could actually barrage and area with beams of light from all different sides or something… yeah I just want scepter to look more awesome lol.

In my opinion they should just make the “Slow moving orb” homing. This already would allow a viable ranged atk (with the slow being the weakness of the scepter).
Anyways would be AMAZING to have a bow, like light arrows atks =)

I was analyzing the following skills:
1. Hallowed Ground;
2. Merciful Intervention;
3. Signet of Mercy.
I dunno, but in my opnion they are just useless for several aspects. Also I never seen anybody EVER using one of these skills. I never been in any situation like " since this is happening is better I use the skill #1, #2 or #3". Let’s look at:
1. Hallowed Ground:
Type: Consecration;
Cast Time: 1 Sec;
Cooldown: 80 Sec (64 traited);
Duration: 10 Sec (12 traited?);
Radius: 240;
Effect: Grants 1 second of Stability every second while inside. Also is a combo field Fire.
Why is this skill so bad? In my opnion is the cooldown time. Comparing to “Stand Your Ground!”, that last is way better in a lot ways: Instant cast; both affect alies; both give stability, but SYG gives also retaliation and its proporcion “duration / wait time without the boon” is 5 to 25 (5 to 19 traited) while HG is 10 (11?) to 70 (12 to 52), so it is 1/5 (1/4 traited) compared to 1/7 (1/4). Beside that the waiting time for reuse for SYG is 25(19) while HG is 70(52) allowing u to have Stability in short periods (Better, in my opnion). Also SYG don’t require u to “root” the area of effect to recieve the boon (this without counting that SYG can remove contitions whith trait or runes).
My suggestion: Reduce the cooldown to 70 (maybe 60, but can be too much) seconds. This only, already will make this skill a lot more useful.
2. Merciful Intervention:
Type: Meditation;
Cast Time: 3/4 Sec;
Cooldown: 80 Sec (64 traited);
Healing; 1,320 (*0.2);
Range: 1200;
Effect: Teleport to the ally with the lowest HP.
What the heck? I already feel that I have little control with Judge’s Intervention and #2 sword, this skill makes no sense. Firstly, the Healing: is none if compared with the insane cooldown, Secondly, where I will go? Even with the notes saying (I do not tested): “This skill teleports you to the closest ally regardless of health.”, the cooldown is just insane.
My suggestion: Heavly reduce its cooldown (to 45 like Judge’s Intervention?) or increase the Healing (maybe around 4000)?
3. Signet of Mercy:
Type: Signet;
Cast Time: 3 3/4 Sec;
Cooldown: 240 Sec (192 traited);
Range: 1200;
Effect:
- Passive: Increases Healing power up to (lvl 80) 180 (216 traited);
- Active: Revive a nearbly ally (closest?);
This skill is so awful becouse both passive and active effect: the healing power is the worst scaling stats (in my opinion even more than Magic Find – discussion for another topic) and can only revive from Downed State (with a VERY insane cooldown). Also this skill have almost 4 seconds of cast time, with this time I already revive someone directly. This skill makes no sense to me. Similar skills in other classes have the same problem with this skill.
My suggestion: HEAVLY reduce its cooldown (90 at least) AND reduce its cast time to 1 second at max (2 maybe, more than that, makes no sense if u can revive faster in the normal way).
What u guys think about? You found a viable and useful use of those skills? What you think that should be done? Are other skills that are useless?

Nope. A criticism on how players are responsible for some of the worst flaws in GW2.
I’m not going go to into how a farmer basically states that he’s no better than a Skinner rat. It wouldn’t bother me that much if it were just a matter of someone renouncing his humanity like that. It isn’t, though.
What farmers (and grinders, addicts and exploiters) have taught MMO developers is that there is no point in making a game fun. Fun is subjective – trying to make a given piece of content to be “fun” will, 100% of the time, result in something that some will like, and others will not. Making fun content is hard, too.
But do you know what is very easy do build? Grind. Just throw something players can kill over and over, give a shiny reward for it, and players will jump there. No need to actually work to make it interesting, farmers don’t care.
As a result, what updates do we get in Guild Wars 2? Improved storytelling? Better cinematics, like what we had seen in the original Guild Wars by the time of the BMP? Challenging content?
No, of course not. There is no point in any of that. Making repetitive, mindless content and throwing 200% Magic Find is enough to make farmers play until their fingers bleed. Who cares about good content? Grinders certainly do not.
MMORPGs won’t ever be great games, because the current community of MMORPG players don’t want great games – they want to revel in cesspools of grind.
I’m glad that all you have are Masterwork items. But if you just want to have green items, does not mean that everyone wants. Or the good items just “magically” appear in your caracter or your account?

The farming nerf has affected me, along with the promotion of events to “more interesting” status. I once would run around CS and ML, harvesting and doing most every event I ran across. I found this fun. Seems like I could almost always count on a Penitent, Jofast’s, or Shelter being up, along with many other events. Now, all I see are a few [Group Events] with no one in attendance. Much less fun.
I make only slightly less gold than I once did in Orr. However, I’m having a lot less fun there. It wasn’t a farming nerf to me, it was a fun nerf.
I feel the same. I liked to farm there, but since the nerfs now there is just a desert. Even the Temples are always contested (several times the people called for help to contest, was a lot of fun). I’m glad that I already build up my guardian in the way that I wanted, becouse I do not find a viable place to farm yet. I was thinking to build up my Warrior to full zerk-exotics (required to enter in a part to CoF), but is no place to farm to buy the Exotics =X
I use the vigil set for my support build (knight/boon duration) and I use the primeval set for my offesive (berserk/runes of soldier).
Since Southsun Cove event ended and Orr is desertic, I have no place to farm. Anyone knows a good place to farm that is not a dungeon?

I just went to Southsun Cove and I didnt find the MF usefull becouse there are low enemies and the main source of drop are the chests, which the MF doesnt affect.

I just noticied that my Magic Find in Hero’s painel is just strange. Should be 191%, but sometimes drops to ~160% for no reason.
I tested the food, but was nothing strange. To the equips, I unnequip every thing and equip all back then it comes back to 191%.
With every thing unnequiped is 21% (Shouldn’t be 0%?).
This is a bug just to the ifo hero painel or it is really bugged?

Strange, my ele doesn’t get this problem. Most likely because he isn’t using a weapon that is so grossly underpowered for his class.
Guardian sceptre needs a lot more than an auto-target fix.
Im not entirely sure about that, if scepter would only actually hit its target with #1, its damage is still decent. They said before they dont want guardians to excel at ranged combat. That said more buffs are always welcome tough. A short wishlist:
- Scepter #1, homing + 20% dmg increased.
- Scepter #2, smite changed into symbol.
- Focus #4, (not sure bout range, if 900 > 1200) + damage increased doubled.
- Shield #4 range extended to 1200 yards. (optionally single target, damage increased doubled)
- Shield #5 Duration of cone increased by 2 seconds, detonate no longer makes bubble disappear.This alone could make guardians balanced in ranged combat without making them overpowered in any way.
However at the VERY VERY least, make scepter #1 at least hit moving targets lol… just made my meteorlogicus and while its shiny i feel ineffective in wvw. Nerf something in melee in turn if desperately needed :P
In my opnion, the main problem with shield:
- #4: The protect duration is too low (considering the cooldown) and to apply to allies they must be in front of you (only good if the Scepter was good or in zerg situations);
- #5: The cooldown time is discouraging (40s), considering the duration (4s) and moving cancel the effect (? – not sure).
I do like your suggestions to Scepter.
Thanks guys. I’m using an axe becouse the short bow sucks aganist several enemies and is the only ranged weapon with good splash (or short of) and torch to suppport. Also I am using traps becouse is the only good AoE and damage utility skills.
Sorry I’m new to ranger and was wondering why the pet build is stronger than ranger’s focused (I don’t find good traits to ranger focused), so I went to pet’s focused instead 0/20(I,VIII)/10(V)/0/25(IV,VII).

My pet is stronger than me! I don’t know what am I doing wrong.
I’m at lvl 65. My pet does around 500 / 1k(critical – ~50% chance I guess)+condition damage build (does a lot of damage) with normal atks (feline). (I am using a lot of pet trait becouse its is better than me!)
I get ~130 and ~250 with critical 30% chance (short bow/normal atks). I am using shot bow/axe+torch and focusing in trap skills (the only skill type that does significant damage)
I just tested and my pet kills faster than me! (without activating its skill – F2) and I using full traps and skills.
How can I improve my ranger? I don’t found any good trait ranger oriented like the pet’s. Thanks guys.

The ranged atks should follow the target instead. (even if don’t feel natural)
I don’t know if is working as intended, but the spirit weapons, with exeption of Bow of Truth, cant commanded if a enemy is not selected (even if the sword activate where it is, not on an enemy selected; and the shield afect all enemies – up to 5?). The Bow activate in the area around it self.
