Really a simple “fix” for the sword would be to make its attacks cripple the enemy.

At least then guardians wouldn’t be so kitten easy to kite.

As for all the spirit weapons being so easy to kill, they should combine spirit weapon mastery & Expeditious spirit then create a new trait which increases their health by 100% & makes them do their command upon death (similar to ranger spirit & necro minion traits)

This is an interesting idea, I liked it. This would really make spirit weapons an option to build.

Condition Idea - making cond build possible

Considering that Guardian have the worst possibility to a condition build I have an interesting idea to make it viable:

A new trait replacing Shimmering Defense (III) on radiance trait line (this trait is useless) that make all vulnerability that guard apply do condition damage (same as bleeding). It will be similar to Terror of Necro. Only this change already would allow to a Cond Guardian be possible.

What you guys think?

I prefer to use Staff instead Axe in a power build (WvW). has the double range, the AA has same damage, piercesand generates life force. And #2 is very easy to miss due direction and easy to dodge. Staff also have better utility.

The axe really needs to hit 3 foes on AA or/and a range increase.

Axe is only 3 skills when Staff has 5. Keep it in mind.

I’d honestly argue if Axe paired with Warhorn/Dagger doesn’t bring equal effectivness as Staff or ever go over that.

I still prefer Staff over Axe & Warhorn/Dagger/Focus. My second set is dagger with any off hand (keep swaping according the situation). Yes, the axe is too bad to be useful really useful, twice the range makes all diference.

Death Shroud has now been reduced to 70% of its current value. This change has been made to counteract the below buffs to sustain, and make the class more balanced in 1vs1 situations where 100% DS necromancers are very difficult to deal with.

Necromancer self healing through traits, and heal skills now functions even when in DS. Blood Fiend, Signet of Vampirism, and Well of Blood now function through DS. The traits Parasitic Bond, Parasitic Contagion, Vampiric, Vampiric Precision, Ritual of Life (the well it creates would heal), Vampiric Master, and Vampiric Rituals all now function in Death Shroud.

I don’t agree because I like how DS works now. Although your suggestion might work without breaking the class (may with some adjustments).

Life Transfer: now pulses 4 times instead of 9 (Same damage and scaling though)

Why this change? Only will make it worse (will trigger reaper’s precision less). Unless recuce the channel time.

Axe:
Rending Claws: now a 900 range skill
Ghastly Claws: now a 900 range skill, and a whirl finisher at targets location
Unholy Feast: now a blast finisher

I liked this. The axe really needs a buff.

Dagger:
Life Siphon: Channel time reduced to 2.5 seconds
Dark Pact: Cooldown reduced to 20 seconds
Deathly Swarm: now a projectile finisher 100%
Enfeebling Blood: now a blast finisher

I agree, but not Deathly Swarm and Enfeebling Blood proposals.

Focus:
Reaper’s Touch: now a projectile finisher 100%
Spinal Shivers: reduced cast time to 1 second

Spinal Shivers really needs to be 1 sec cast time.

Warhorn:
Wail of Doom: now a blast finisher

I agree.

Staff:
Necrotic Grasp: added a 3 second application of Torment.
Mark of Blood: The mark is now a dark red color
ChillBlains: Unique animation added, now a icy chilled color
Putrid Mark: Unique animation added, now transfers 1 condition from allies to enemies in the mark (the more enemies the more conditions transferred, 1 condition from allies per enemy).
Reaper’s Mark: now a dark black color.

Don’t agree with any proposals.

Healing skill changes:
Well of Blood: The healing scaling on pulse has been increased to 0.8. The healing on pulse has been increased to 340 per pulse.

I agree.

Signet of Vampirism:
Passive healing has been reduced to 275. The internal cooldown has been removed from both the active and passive effects of this skill. The passive now siphons health, dealing 100 damage per attack. (I’m not sure if this is the right fix, but something needs to be done).

Utilities:
Corrosive Poison Cloud: Now destroys projectiles

Summon Flesh Wurm: The cast time has been reduced to 3/4 of a second.
Necrotic Traversal: The blast now occurs at your location, the Flesh wurm now swaps places with you (the wurm will only move 1200 units and you will only move 1200 units). The cooldown is now 30 seconds.

Plague Signet: Now transfers a condition from up to 5 allies every three seconds.

Signet of Locust: Grants 5 seconds of stability on activation, or just reduce the cooldown to 30 seconds.

Signet of Undeath: Cast time is now 2 seconds. Passive now grants 6% life force every 3 seconds. Cooldown is now 120 seconds.

Spectral Walk: The duration of spectral recall is now base 10 seconds.

I dont agree with Corrosive Poison Cloud, but agree with the other proposals.

Elites:
Lich form:
Deathly Claws: damage has been reduced by 10%
Marked for Death: now also applies 8 seconds of weakness.
Chilling Wind: Cooldown reduced to 10 seconds.
Mark of Horror: Now summons a bone fiend, a bone minion, and a shadow fiend (ends when you leave the transform)

Plague:
Withering Plague: Bleeding is now 3 seconds
New skill
Confounding Plague: apply 1 stack of confusion and 1 stack of torment for 2 seconds.

Locust Plague: send out locust to steal enemy health, steals 200 health per target (this seems strong, but plague of darkness will mitigate way more than this heals)

I think most of the elites in this game need a buff to have more of an impact

In this way you nerf the lich form, considering its usefulness is more becouse the auto atk. And your Mark of Horror proposal will be weak as it is now.

Lol. I would do a topic about this. The axe #1 and #2 should be 900 to be viable. Look at the ranger, 1500 range and it is not OP (this isn’t a sacarsm, but power necro have some hard time aganist rangers due the lack of leaps).

900 range and axe would be ok.

Axe #1 and #2 should be a cone cleave (90-120°) in front of the necromancer, up to 3 targets within 600 range.

Interesting idea, would be like the guard #1 staff.

Really? A Thief complaing about Guard? Thief is my hardest match as Guard. They just jumps out of combat whenever they want.

The Mesmer pull is a lot more annoying than Guards.

If 5 Human got pull by a Guardian and got NUKE in one spot then I need to move to another planet.

Hammer
- Hammer auto attack chain should knock down rather than knock back.

I agree with that one. The hammer disturbs more than helps becouse of the knock back instead of knock down.

Shield
- Summoning the shield should be an instant cast stun-breaker that grants aegis to allies and weakness to foes. (No damage or bounce effect)

- Active ability should be ground targeted and should create the projectile absorption effect so that you have it when and where you need it.

The shield is very bad to block projectiles. And the command is “meh”. The shield is only good if u use full spirits and oriented to dmg. (with sword and hammer). I always take Wall of reflection Instead, even without consacration traits is better, the shield dies too easly.

Bow
- Bow auto attacks should shoot foes and deal damage instead. (Ranged guardian wut?)
- Active ground target ability should heal for more, clear conditions and be instant cast.

I like the idea to heal and remove conditions on auto atk, but is just too slow to heal so little. (every 3 secs) The bow is only usable becouse of its Command. Also the command takes 2/3 of all duration (casted 2 times with +50% duration trait), so it atks 1 or 2 times? (9 secs of channeling)

The ground target is good now and don’t need to change, but you’ll need healing power, unlike before.

Sword
- Sword active ability should be ground targeted and hit multiple times like its animation shows.

I agree with ground targeted. It would really make sword more usable rather than randomly hit.


There’s just too much downtime on them for a full-on spirit weapon build to be competitive, especially considering the significant trait investment (12/14 points I think?) required to maximize their potential. It doesn’t matter how strong they are when they’re up, because there’s still the fact that you’re going to be left defenseless when they’re gone.

That is the main problem of a spirit build. Also they take too much time to be summoned, if you use 3 spirits together, you take ~5 sec just to summon them all.

On this build you’ll have good DPS and good support. With the bow change now is worth to use. You can change Hammer for Staff or GS (I swap a lot) and Wall of Reflection for Purging Flames if needed. If you use Purging Flames you can also change Purity for Strength in Numbers or Retrebutive Armor.

I don’t have problems with sustain becouse I heal a lot, even with the low armor.

Your build is too much selfish with meditations, you’ll only provide AoE fury and Merciful intervation heals allies very little for its CD.

I’m the only one that is’nt having problems with LB rangers?

I only play WvW and I play as Guardian (I don’t use wall of reflection), Staff Ele and condition Necro. With necro I have the hardest time, but I still can kill.

The LB rangers are finaly viable. I’m happy with that. I hope they change all other useless/weak weapons that a lot classes have. Like shield, torch and mace on guardian.

After fixing this bug, my suggestion for making the shield more useful without breaking it is:

Skill #4: Add 5s of cripple;
Skill #5: You can walk while channeling and apply 5s Aegis (to 5 alies) if the dome is not detoned/canceled.

Also the mace and torch need a small change to be useful.

The new elementals summons don’t work correctly at all. I don’t want to sound mean, but it is about the worse programming I have ever seen for a video game; the animation literally respond about 5-7 seconds after you pressed the button, after waiting 1 sec for the first button press to summon it. It should be fixed immediately.

Arctodus’s Rending Maul = 1.75s cast time
All Canines’ Howls = 1.50s cast time
All Drakes’ Breaths = 1.50s cast time
Lynx’s Rending Pounce = 1.50s cast time
Snow Leopard’s Icy Pounce = 1.50s cast time
Black Bear’s Enfeebling Roar = 1.25s cast time
Murrelow’s Poison Cloud = 1.25s cast time
Polar Bear’s Icy Roar = 1.25s cast time
All Moas’ Screeches = 1.00s cast time
All Pigs’ Forage = 1.00s cast time

Do you really think your 0.75s cast time that you have to push a button for is bad?

The 0.75s is the Elementalist cast time, then is more 4s to elementals cast their skills. This is nonsense.

The problem is you can’t have control on what takes years to activate. The only one that’s worth to use, in my opinion, is the fire ele. At least before, I didn’t need to cast their skills.

If they wants to give control on them, they should remove all restrictions on their use as well, like be in combat.

In PvE and Dungeons the Glyph is good instead of the nerfed FGS.
I looked at the Elementals the last few days and as long as u target something they attack 95% of the times.
Its not much but at least a little DPS-Increase.

And: The Fire Ele uses the Flame Burst Skill of The Lesser Elemental meaning: 3 might which is nice for Might-Uptime especially when PUGing.
Also the WaterEles active is nice for some Bosses who stack many Bleeds(Mai Trin and SE p3 first boss).
Air and Earth are useless, but u wanna use Fire Ele at most Bosses anyway(not the active though).

Only thing im missing is a “To Me” and “Attack” Command like with Rangers Pet for some encounters (sometimes they kitten up the pull).

Btw Mikau: what did they change except giving an Active effect which u dont have to use?

I only do WvW and the new Elemental are bad becouse:
- I need to cast their skills (no other summon is like that);
- they take a whole year to activate, after I cast (there is no control on them becouse of that). Count the seconds to water Ele heal then you’ll see;
- You need to be in combat to cast;

Those are the major problems with the new elementals.

I do use hammer and it doesn’t worth still. Like the other guy said, Retrubitive Armor, Purity, Strenght in Numbers, medi cd reduction or AH is the way to go, even if u use hammer in your build. If it was 3secs on 10 sec CD, I would consider to use it.

200% scaling with Healing Power and on a 20 sec CD now. Holy kitten.

Always were 20 sec cooldown. And you can only activate once, twice only with duriton ttrait. Overal, it dies before u can activate again, if not during the 1st activation.

I was using Force of Will (+300vit), but I find AH more useful. I have no problems with survability on WvW. Too much health, in my opinion, is worthless since you can’t heal all, it will only help on entering combat. And you’ll have ~17k health on WvW buff with this build.

Keep swaping Staff out of combat for swiftness.

I was looking at wiki (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_%28bow%29) and the bow seems that was nerfed. Before was ~4k heal (didn’t scaled with healing), now is ~2.5k heal and ~5.5k with 1500 healing power.

Now is only worth if you have a lot of healing power. Anyone tested it yet?

In elementals, I tested:
- On all elementals, you must be on combat to cast their skills (cannot cast while entering in combat);
- Need a target;
- Water ele takes years to activate (really, not kidding, more than 5 sec);
- Air ele can miss and take too long to activate;
- The only one that worth a little bit for me is fire ele. (but not worth overal)
(not tested earth ele)

I always used Glyph build and was exiting with the changes, but I’m REALLY desaponted with the elemental elite. It was the best elite for my play style, but now Mistfire wolf is the way to go for me.

I hope that at least they change to what was before. Was 100% better than now.

I been testing the new elementals and now is worse. You have to cast the skills, on all other summons are themselves that cast your own skills.

Now is a lot worse. Bring the old elementals back.

I get back after few months away to see the new stuff, but overal nothing changed.

There is A LOT, really, A LOT, of useless traits and skills, even weapons, that nothing is done to change, and it is on all professions. They care just too much on Living Story and almost nothing on gameplay.

They should at least try to fix the insane number of useless things that the game have. That will open the way for a lot of new builds and play styles, so we dont get forced to be in one of the only three (or even less) viables builds that all classes have.

I main Guard and the changes did basicaly nothing to the class, it remain the same. I already did a lot of times lists of useless things, that ANET knows more than anyone how no body uses. And this is on every class, only warrior that have very little useless things.

I guess what everyone wants is variety, we are tired of the same thing again and again. For me, mostly because the number of useless things there are in the game.

And I agree. That was no reason to nerf the well of blood like they did, if they wanted to chage the skill to 5 secs, they should changed properly. They only made the skill worse than already was before.

The problem is not to be weak, but low flexibility and to have useless things.

The 4th bonus of the rune of the pack is 10 sec or 5 sec as wiki says?

5s was the old effect. They forgot to update that. It’s 10s, meaning if you have 30% boon duration + 30% swiftness duration, you get 16s of swiftness per proc, which has 20 seconds of cooldown. Hence it gives up to 80% up time. That does not include Symbol of Swiftness or SY! or Retreat!

Rune of the pack 4th effect up time is better than any of our shouts.
