So, today when creating my new charr guardian for the first time, I got a bit irritated with the UI for the charr. The Charr’s big size seems to clip through a lot of the interface as well as “outside” of my screen. The character creation screen seems to have lots of white space around it that could be used better imo.
I’ve included screenshots to explain myself better. I hope this can be fixed in the future.
(And yes, I know this probably should be in the suggestions forum, but hey, no one reads that anyway.)
Well, I agree with getting your money/gems back. When people buy something from the gem store it’s because they like how it looks when they buy it.
Changing it after people have bought the item should not be done.
(Personally I don’t like either, before or after.)
… ARE SO ADORABLE!
Thanks for the great minis this year, Anet. Bought a set for a friend and me.
I agree. Stop with the coat fetish for medium armours please Anet. GW1 had such a nice variety of armours for assassins (thiefs) and rangers, it’s sad that coats have taken up most of our choices. And I hate it.
If we had chosen the Abaddon fractal, we would have gotten Scarlet as the force behind the fall of Abaddon.
That would have been impossible. The fall of Abaddon was god knows how long before Scarlet was even born. But I wouldn’t put it past Anet to pull off something ridiculous like that.
I do agree that the elections were very biased. I did call it out a couple of months ago, but here you have it.
I could say a lot, but I won’t.
I will just say, I LOVE your suggestion.
Yep, the cutscene animation was very cool to look at.
Anet has my thumbs up for that.
Lmao! Oh, Anet, please make that an emote.
In general elite skills in GW2 lack unique-ness and… well… elite-ness.
You barely notice the difference when anyone uses one, the animations are lackluster, and some (not all) don’t last long enough imo. GW2 can take some hints from GW1 when it comes to elite skills and how to acquire them.
Hehehe, skating in Marhan’s Grotto. I remember that!
Please don’t tell me they “fixed” that. I always thought it was intentional, and fun.
When entering a dungon instances owned by someone else on a different server you use up one of your guest passes.
I never knew that. But now I do.
Thanks!
The Sylvari animation has always seemed fluid and natural.
I agree! The smoothness of how my Sylvari moves was the FIRST thing I noticed when I started playing her. I don’t know why, but it really adds to general gameplay.
See?
We can all be friends if we try. :P
Do I see WilberX.
That’s him. The one and only. =P
Just so you know…. Even if there are 0 people guesting, a map can still be full. A whole server can’t fit in a single map.
Having said that…. guests probably aren’t helping either.
Nice! Thanks for sharing
So the Super Adventure Box update got me thinking about our achievements, and specifically our rewards for living story updates. For a while now we’ve been getting good stuff (my favourite being dragon wings), and… not so good stuff.. (Zephyr Sanctum model…) We’ve been also getting a whole lot of other back pieces, minis and the usual weapon and armour skins.
Don’t get me wrong, as I usually do enjoy the rewards, but I feel after every two weeks of new content I don’t even know what to do with all these items.
Therefore I’m asking for a new aspect to the rewards system. Something that takes an idea from the original Guild Wars, and that is our very home instance.
For those who haven’t played it, in GW1 everyone had access to their Hall of Monuments, where they could proudly show off their achievements in minis, armour, weapons and titles in the form of statues. Great idea! Our home instance is currently largely ignored and I feel it would be a perfect permanent reward if we could “build up” our very own homes and show off our participation in these living stories.
I haven’t fleshed out any ideas of what could be added, but Arenanet hit the nail on the head when they added the crystal quartz node for us to farm.
I’m thinking maybe more statues, a bard singing our victories, an armour closet….
What are your opinions?
My opinion is… the game is JUST been out for a year. I’m sure anet wants to stretch the whole dragon thing for as long as possible. I for sure don’t want to kill dragon after dragon and then go “Now what?”.
Besides, anet also did say, EVERYTHING that we are experiencing now (living story), IS related to dragons. We just don’t have all the pieces quite yet.

Why telling them to follow that tablet if the tree is evil and really wants the opposite? And the tablet isn’t there to show other races they’re good. They are good because of the tablet and then other races see them being good without even knowing about a table.
I agree, that the Pale Tree is good because of the tablet. But I’d like to remind everyone that it is not unheard of for a dragon Champion to turn against their Elder dragon.
Glint… anyone?
Yes, she is only one unique case, but she did it (and got killed in the end for it, but still.)
Wow, you took some amazing screenshots. It’s like photography…. and I guess perhaps it is in a way.
I (sadly) only took ONE screenshot during the whole event… Here it is.
I love this solution. This champion farming fest is going a bit too far for my liking… It’s really breaking the game. I recently left a guild, of which I really liked the people, but I couldn’t DO anything with them, because all they did was farm.
Anet needs to promote their event system that they are so proud of. Events PROGRESS the maps. It’s kind of sad to see most maps at a stand still (e.g. most dungeons contested) because well… it’s just not worth it.
I’m not a native speaker so I don’t know every English expression. Regardless, what it boils down to is that male = good/superior, female = bad/inferior, and that is NOT “just an expression” but an attitude that permeates our society, and the gaming industry, in a pretty big way.
Luckily it hasn’t permeated Arenanet. I know for sure they support equality between males and females. I’ve seen very specific instances in guild wars 2, where both males and females are ranked equally. A most recent example would be Kiel and Evon (pay special attention to their First Mates). Other examples would be the leaders of the three different orders.
She should reveal…
The rest of her boobs… cause they’re already half way out.
The major contributor to this hypothesis inability to hold even jello is that the Living Story will not impact the Personal Stories, simply because it would be confusing to the new players. The dungeons someone mentioned, I think in another thread, aren’t an exception as they are intended to be done at certain levels. Once you obtain a certain level you receive a letter from someone claiming to be your herald informing you of the actions of whomever your Destiny’s Edge companion is. A Living Story however seems to permanently change world itself in some manner. Another reason is that those players who didn’t choose the Infinity Ball or whatever it called as their Asura’s first invention would feel like their choice meant nothing in the long run. We already seeing people complaining about the human focus of the Living Story, which I find their arguments agreeable but mostly I’m confused how they connect together but willing to stick with it to find out then make my final decision.
I agree to a certain extent it might be confusing to new players who miss these one time events. But I don’t agree completely. If you didn’t choose asura, let alone that specific story line, you would never have found out that the steam creatures came from you as a character either, unless you specifically got told by a friend or looked it up, which new players can do too.
Thanks for the video! I would’ve missed it otherwise.
Very interesting stuff indeed. When he gave his theories in the end, especially the stuff about Kiel, it made me realize that Anet perhaps orchestrated that Kiel would win… Not Evon. I mean, how else would it all come together and tie in with personal stories?
Just my two cents.
Chill.. I’m sure they won’t ignore the other races. We’ve had a couple of major story lines for the norn and charr areas. Besides, you don’t NEED to be human to do these.
If you talk to Logan and Jennah during the Human story quest (the part where you finally choose your order permanently), Logan says that he loves Jennah more than Kryta. Queen Jennah to him IS Kryta. Queen Jennah on the other hand has feelings for him too but because she is the queen she cannot be in a relationship although she mentions
PC: Captain Thackeray is very worried about you, Your Majesty.
Queen Jennah: Logan? He mustn’t worry…please, tell him I’II be fine. If he is distracted, and gets hurt, I don’t know what I would do.
PC: If I may be so bold, ma’am, the two of you seem to care about one another very much.
Queen Jennah: He is like an angel sent from Dwayna to be at my side. If things were different, or if Kryta were at peace. then perhaps…Logan Thackeray: Jennah’s in danger. Stay alert, and if you have an extra moment, be sure to pray. May Lyssa keep her safe!
PC: You really love her, don’t you?
Logan Thackeray: It’s that obvious, huh? Yes. I do. I would gladly give my life for her. She’s everything to me.
PC: She means more to you than Kryta?
Logan Thackeray: Even on my darkest days, her smile gives me hope. If there is purpose in my life, it is to keep her safe. She is Kryta, in my eyes. This dialogue appears if you join the Priory
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Queen%27s_JusticeSomething similar is said if you join the Vigil and I’m not sure about the OoW.
Thanks! I didn’t pay enough attention to that bit.
My thoughts…. Queen Jennah is a watchknight in disguise, she reveals herself, goes terminator on everyone, we save the day, Logan is horrified.
:D
Ok, so I haven’t finished Destiny’s Edge, and I haven’t finished the third GW2 book either, so I apologize if I miss any obvious information, but I’m curious what the current status is with Logan and Queen Jennah.
I know Logan “likes” the Queen, but to what extent? Are they in a relationship? If so, would that even be allowed or would it be a conflict of interest?
Logan obviously is still working on impressing her, as seen in the Queen’s Gauntlet instance, but personally, Jennah has always seemed more indifferent to Logan, keeping him at arms length.
What are your opinions?
That interview was awesome to read. Answered a lot of the questions we just didn’t bother asking before.
To OP… You forgot cripple. xD
Wait, what? waypoints in cities are supposed to be free right? why does this one have a toll?
That’s the first thing I questioned too. Unless they want to get semantic, and argue it’s underneath the city.
Agreed. Show us them skills Anet.
Totally support this.
Also, make it instanced so the zergs below us don’t make us lag so much.
You forgot one important thing…
.. and that’s, WHY are the 1vs1 matches not instanced? I honestly don’t need onlookers, and the horrible LAG I get when there’s a giant zerg beneath me completely kittens me up. Great job Anet…
Has anyone gotten this achievement yet? If so, how?
I find it hard to chase after meat, not get my face bashed in, as well as killing the guy at the same time. I tried killing the dog first, but that’s not easy either.
So far I’ve tried only with Guardian and Ranger. But I could use some more tips.
For me, I love watching the guardian (cool effects and awesome moves), and the thief for the same reason you said.
My least impressive comes in form of race, not class. And that sadly, is Asura. But if I would answer your question correctly, probably Engineer. Just personal opinion. I’m sure lots of people love the explosions and special effects. It’s just not my thing
I believe you can only transform once per day. Perhaps you didn’t time it right?
I agree with you, despite having all achievements in the sprint mini game. I got it by pure chance. I don’t like the idea of forcing people to do these games. Some people just don’t have the skills to do this.
I hope you get in an organised race. That’s how I got mine. Total luck to land in one of course, but there are groups out there who do that.
Just looking at those loading screens from GW1 made me smile.
This looks great! excited!
And if you’re lucky, rewards from map completion and daily achievements.
Aww, no US server. xD
legendary [?l?d??nd?r? -dr?]
adj
1. of or relating to legend
2. celebrated or described in a legend or legends
3. very famous or notoriousNone of the items in Guildwars 2 fit legendary status anyway.. none have any lore and make zero sense in the game..
I would say they do fit that status since they are notoriously hard to get.
And some of them do have some mythology related to them…. The Bifrost from Norse mythology. The Flameseeker Prophecies from GW1 (in-game legend). Rodgort also from GW1. Kamohoali’i Kotaki from Hawaiian mythology.
I actually like the legendary skins… They’re funny and unique. And they’re just skins at the end of the day… no one is required to get them.
I don’t mind it as much as other people, but I still have to see your rainbows while we’re slaying “the next greatest threat to Tyria.”
The bow isn’t going away, so they might as well go full hilarious and make a legendary quiver that lets you dispense alcoholic beverages to your allies every 10 minutes.
Ain’t nothing wrong with rainbows man. Don’t get depressed.
I agree, it’s frustrating.
It gets contested really fast.
Is there a server open?
hug
You need one.
