So given how equipment works, how are you thinking this would function for armor/weapons?
I was thinking it would be like, you buy a build swap slot from the gem store and put your gear in there?
This wouldn’t be too different from how GW1 had the gear bag slot you could earn with Zaishen coins.
It’s awesome! I remember hearing a voice responding to the Mordrem Guard and thinking it was strange because I never heard other dragons speaking. But I was on my sylvari so now it makes sense!
If you don’t like missing content, get a sylvari! This is great stuff!
Is there any indication that they aren’t? They bring back the holiday events every year. Why wouldn’t they this year? Sometimes they even add more stuff to the event. Are you referencing some announcement that wasn’t on the GW2 website?
39 chars including the two chars I have waiting to turn into revs on launch.
I’m a mainoholic (rare species), I have one main at 80 and an alt at lvl 2 that carries my extra crap.
As an altaholic, you are like the hardest of hard core in my eyes!

I had downloaded the Todo but it seemed so extremely freeware and trialware that I wasn’t even sure if I could use it again when I needed it. Also there are like 3 different websites to download the same thing so I can’t tell which one is like an adware filled version…
Dragons are forces of nature, why would they do anything with their own volition. The wind doesn’t blow because it chooses to.
Also it must take a lot of energy to stand up and fly when you’re the size of a mountain. Probably not easy doing it often.
:)
Underwater was fun but had severe limitations on how you can run your build. You only had max 2 weapon choices and tons of utility choices are disabled underwater.
Essentially underwater combat isn’t fleshed out. I enjoy being underwater, myself.
I’d interpret Gaile’s statement as a sheepish embarrassed reply, not some, “we’re not taking it seriously” statement.
Gaile’s here to try and keep the community healthy, she didn’t contribute to the bug.
If I was her I’d probably make a similar comment out of sheer embarrassment that I’m working for a company that keeps having faux pas failures that I could do nothing to remedy.
Keep up the good fight, Gaile!

Yeah the screens point out a raging flaw that’s literally on top of all the other visual trouble created by massively occlusive skill effects: Why are the damage numbers ON the enemy instead of ABOVE the enemy?
well the author or ten ton probably changed their mind.
But, the thing is, anet is always busy, working hard, but so much of their work is wasted. They need better management of resources and direction. They have to multi task better.
Heart of thornes is consuming their everything, look at FFXIV, they released a major patch with new story, a whole new game mode woven through out the world, a huge casino with a ton of minigames, like 2 months before releasing their expansion. with sMeanwhile heart of thornes will release like 9-10 months after thier last content release.
and this is what is always happening. They are always too busy on some project to do anything else. And Even when these projects hit, they feel rushed, buggy, and often in the wrong direction.
I agree all the issues that have come up in the past year or so has been due to management fail. I work in management and while I’m not a high level Exec, it’s obvious when issues are arising/complicating because of the higher ups failing to manage properly as opposed to unforseen occurrences or staffing issues. I’ve seen so much beautiful and interesting content being put out by the developers, so I know their staff isn’t inside their own kittens.
ANet’s management team needs to take some seminars and training on management practices.
The article doesn’t seem to load? What was it about?
It doesn’t seem like a big deal, you shouldn’t feel bad, but just think about whether or not a joke will come across as a joke. Also if this person didn’t contact you back the they probably didn’t feel like a great fit in the guild to begin with and this was just a chance for them to move on.
If you’re playing the game regularly you can have a level 80 quite fast. Unless you never play but once a week you will definitely have your character to level 80 before HoT releases.
So, given that it’s such a small jump, you’re okay with it being accessible to a level 21?
No I’m okay with you taking that simple jump to level 80, lol.
I don’t know if they want to do that, but I’d love the activation bar back. Helped someone with crummy eyes like me know what was going on. I think they wanted to avoid having people staring at the UI (like the red bar game with healing) and watch the actual game more.
But watching the game has become watching a bizarre light show.

An approach I’m taking to toming right now is leveling until my stack of tomes will get me to max level. So right now I have 5 tomes left, so I’ll need to level my current leveling alt to level 75 and then if I get more tomes, say 5 more, I’ll only need to level my alt to 70. And so on.
With enough gliding mastery I bet you could make it to islands like that.
Move the inventory window so that the tomes are right where you choose to accept. They have these in place to prevent people from making mistakes. Remove those preventative measures and you’ll now see threads of people claiming they accidentally used more than they wanted.
This. Also after positioning the window, hit Alt+Shift+Numlock to turn on the keyboard mouse. Then just tap Numpad / then spam Numpad + for easy one press double clicking and you’re good to go!
No, they should be banned. They are intentionally causing harm by placing hostile portals at locations where they can’t be seen and where people will be pressing F so they end up taking it without their knowledge.
Don’t think they should get banned but Anet should make it so portals don’t take priority over siege weapons/blueprints, chests, trap activators, etc.
Lol get banned, as if… They could maybe change the interaction priorities, but isn’t there already a controls option to set AoE loot to another key? If not they could make that option.
Either way, people should thank troll portaliers for waking them up. If you take a portal without thinking or autorun up to chests slapping the F key all the way you are droning too hard.
ALSO, portals have a slight activation delay. The completion effect and sound happens before you can actually use it, so if you see that pink disk and hear the glamour just stop spamming F mindlessly. Problem solved.
I have 5 accounts, lol. There comes a point when getting more accounts for slots is a massive chore. So much logging in for daily rewards >.<
Cool! I’ll give that program a look, thanks!
Heya! I recently built a new PC and read somewhere that the current preferred backup method is making a clone copy of the drive that can be restored or put on a new drive where the new drive and mobo won’t even know the difference. But the program they recommended wasn’t free.
I’m wondering if some people could recommend a free drive clone software that they’ve used and they think works well?
So I just looked on the Guildwars.com website and the cost for just buying Nightfall or Factions is the same as the cost for all three. You should just get the Trilogy.
You’ll need at least one campaign PLUS Eye of the North, remember.
If you can find single games online somewhere for cheaper than the trilogy, Nightfall is the fastest. It gets you to level 20 real fast which lets you get on with it and not have to go through a bunch of trouble leveling up.
Yay me guns are back!
No nothing And I went to Silverwastes and the quest takes me to a new location with nothing. It thinks Tactician Elke should be there.
I’d rather not have to re select the stats for all my weapons and go through all that again remaking :S
EDIT: Okay so it turns out if you get directly on that green marker it’ll take you back in. For anyone else as dimwitted as me in all this >.< Have fun!

Hey I can’t find a way back into the beta map. I teleported to LA on my beta character and can’t see a way back in. My quest log says Rally to Maguuma and leads me to a point I can’t get to near “Haunted Nolani Waypoint” in the Black Citadel…
Where is entrance back into the beta map? No one I’m asking in game seems to know.
I run two clients at once. If only I was lucky enough to have such a simple problem. Making a shortcut for each account is such an easy fix in comparison. Also if you are interested in running multiple instances of GW2, Google how to run multi-instances of GW1 and modify the instructions for GW2 file and registry paths. Or if someone nice who can program would modify the GW1 auto multi-launcher for GW2?
The entire reason for the weekend event lasting 3 days despite the “weekend” being 2 days is because of what you’re complaining about. They were nice enough to start it early and end it late just for ya’ll all around the world.
What’s unfair? The event starts when many NA are a work and NA has to go back to work before it ends.
Why would it matter?
Yeah I’m not sure why it matters whether or not ultra rich people play? Why would they? If people make huge salaries they’re more likely to be spending their money on stupid inefficient things like skiing or buying things that are overpriced.
Is OP thinking about that WoW ad from long ago where famous people said they played the game. Not only was that the biggest fallacy of an advertisement, but I hate to break if to you, Chuck Norris doesn’t actually play WoW.
I hear Obama plays a thief because the stealing aspect is a lot like his job. The pope is also trying to get Anet to bring back the monk.
You got it all backwards, pope plays thief, Obama plays Bearbow.

You bought the base game for $10. And you’re mad that you can’t get your $10 back?
Yeah some of us have been dumping tons of money in the gem store for years so they could develop all the nice updates that OP got for $10 flat and he’s unsatisfied with that remarkable deal?
Pshaw!
I’m always up for more emotes! At least the full array of what we had back in GW1.
Raids are gonna be hardcore. If you can’t trust the people you’re raiding with you might as well not even go in. It doesn’t sound like a very PUG kind of content. Maybe plan on making friends who play in the same timezone as you and forming a regular raid night group.
Build locking or not has nothing to do with whether it’s PUGable or not. PUG’s will still attempt it. I’d rather players decide raids are not for them because the content is too hard for them. Not because they got tired of having to quit mid-raid because they were missing one crucial trait.
And really, if whether it’s challenging or not is down to whether builds or locked or not, then the content would be easily done by PUG’s.
I would not be opposed for an optional forced build lock on the instance. Where you could choose before going in if it’s a build locked run or a build unlocked run. Nor would I be opposed to the build locked run having better rewards since it would be harder.
It just shouldn’t be forced on anyone nor be described as something that will make or break whether or not the content is challenging.
It does have to do with PUGs, because who else would you play with that you couldn’t trust to keep their build relevant to the content? If your friends or guildmates can’t be trusted then why are you friends or guildies with them?
Build locking is a garbage idea. It won’t solve the rage that the OP feels. Because it’s really not about the builds of their party members, it’s about how well their party members play.
If you get into build locking everything will be pushed towards more cookie-cutter standardization with people like OP shouting at anyone who doesn’t run what OP thinks is best.
If you can’t trust the people you play with, find some people you CAN trust and rely on. For high level content I don’t think it SHOULD be puggable. I think you should need an organized group of people who know each other well and are communicating on the same level.

I’d imagine 8/9am PST, sometime around then to give Anet staff time to get in office, quadruple triple check everything, then push the big red button
Often things launch at midnight PST, either that or at noon PST which would fit when they start the weekend events these days. And when you’re a game company there are plenty of people there not working easy cheesy 9-5 hours, most especially on the week of a new release launch.
I’m thinking a monthly stipend of 250 Ectos.
The whole game came short 3 slots :P You can always delete a character once you’re done testing it.
It would be good to know for those of us who want to take time off work for the release, but who would qualify for an early release? Since it’s digital purchase we have all pretty much “preordered”, otherwise someone can purchase the game at any time now.
If they had a headstart then that would just become the new release day since people could just buy HoT on whatever day it’s first open for play.
Cool, just in time for me to get my vacation days at work.
Thanks for pointing that out! I’m gonna put some vacation requests in today!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh I gotta get some of my characters to lvl 80 faster now! >.< Here we go!
They’re making a big announcement Saturday and this tweet slipped out early. They always come out and say it shortly after something big is leaked. Thr tweet is most likely true in some form.
Also @ OP I don’t doubt the possibility that you are suggesting, but you seem to be very focused in on the healing stuff, as if all the specs are made just for healing and that’s the only thing a raid group needs, lol.
Level is meaningless, it’s only there because people expect it. How would increase in level make anyone enjoy the game more? It’d be a pointless grind. Character level is not content. More events and maps and features are content. There’s no reason foot them to raise the level and no reason for any player who thinks about the situation to want a level increase.
That’s why they are totally switched to lateral progression. Instead of going for higher levels and higher stats, they’re giving us more abilities and features and opportunities to unlock through playing the game and acquiring mastery points.
Which current outfits have hideable gloves? Was never aware of this. What about shoulders? I thought it was only headgear that was hideable…
credit card farm
It’s true, the most efficient path is to get a side job and turn all the money from that into gems for gold.
Barring that, look into the “Iron Run”. A series of gathering nodes you can run through for massive quantities of ore and the such.
When you play the beta it makes a copy of your account, or rather a beta instance of your account that all your beta characters share. Like when I played on Rev that first weekend I had all the gold from my normal account and if I spent it while using my beta character it was still there unspent when I changed to my normal characters, and vice versa. The same went for other things like weapon skin unlocks. Whatever you earn or use or do on your beta characters shouldn’t have any permanent effect on your non-beta account.
How is a raid not a dungeon? I’ve never understood the difference.
Can’t fractals be called a raid?
So, what exactly are raids? Aren’t they just dungeons with a larger group of players? I’m not sure how this is significant. I remember playing some stuff with my guild or clan or w/e in Aion where we stormed this fortress being guarded by Balaur but it just seemed like a dungeon. Is it just a dungeon with large groups of players?
What makes a raid different than the content we already have in GW2?
Isn’t fractals a raid?
I like it. I like that they’re doing more to bring out the utility of endurance.
Though having just learned that the hero Daredevil actually uses a staff, the name seems uninspired. Like did Netflix pay them to name the thief Dare Devil?

Amazing outfit. Thanks to this complaino thread’s comments to point out how worth it this outfit is. If you put it into gold terms, it’s like 226 gold currently. The usual exchange rate would put it at like 130 gold but it looks like gems are IN DEMAND!
Goes to show you how awesome the stuff they’re offering is to see the gem exchange rate so high.
If this caused you to shelve GW2 you probally weren’t gonna play for much longer anyway. See ya.
Yeah if OP thinks the Tempest isn’t cool they can always not use that spec and keep playing ele the way they like and maybe try a warrior since they’re obviously loving on that Berserker.
