You are missing toughness. Most of the time you should have enough time for a dodge. If the thief is good and use stun venom then you pop mistform.
I think another Ele or Def speced warrior . 2 highly skilled bunkers can take on a mini zerg. Where if you team with a high burst toon chances are the class cannon will get killed in a long fight and leave you high and dry.
I don’t know if pvt is where it’s at . I rather have healing power over V myself…
Funny how ppl whine about this. I have basically given up on fotm . This may get me to try it again. I think it’s a pretty good change.
DD has better boon , better mobility, better burst. SD has range. That been said I play SD and do just fine.
WvW cash isn’t bad. Also salvage the yellows you get from WvW sell the globs and use that cash to buy gear. I crafted my own gear, it didn’t take much to level to 400.
How does air elemental randomly give you swiftness boon? Wish the elementals abilities were listed somewhere
Arcane V , which is a must for any build imo. When you switch to air you get swiftness . Works all the time not just in combat.
Vs good players of any class you fight to a draw. That is my personal experience.
6v1 – screw it I’d rather fight using those cooldowns and then die. Why people so kitten afraid of losing. HTFU. Chances are good you’ll put any allies in a good position to take those 6 out by standing your ground.
you have no idea how to play Ele in WvW, I bet you never solo roam at all . If you solo at all in WvW you’ll know that you spent 1/2 the time running from zergs. I wasn’t going to waste my time to argue with you but I will just so you don’t mislead new players. A good Ele should win 1 v1 99% of the time, 1 v2 is doable 80% of the time. 1 v 3 you can pull off 1/2 of the time and once in a blue moon you can do a 1 v 4.
Since we are talking about mobility and disengaging from a fight. We are talking about at some point you realize you are not going to win. Chances are you are about to get kill at that point. So you pick up and just get out. It would be idiotic to stay and die when you can run off. The added benefit of getting away is that a lot of the times 1 or 2 people will break from the group and chase you cross the map. Once you isolated those people you can stop and kill them.

Seriously though, in WvW if you get out alive of such odds, you are extremely good AND the 6 against you are VERY bad. This is not a problem with the class.
Do as I posted and you will get away 90% of the time. if you use signet of air for your underwater set you will get away from even good gps.

Spec for DD then just switch yo staff when you are zerging.

I love pvp BUT I hate bunker and you almost have to be a bunker. I wish they add some more kill other player type of maps. At this point it’s more important to add FUN to pvp than balance imo. A perfectly balanced game with no one in it is not where you want to end up.
0,0,20,20,30 is what I run now. Most cleric gear and use cantrips . The idea is be tanky very tanky. Damage come from might stacking thus you want to use Boon duration runes. Sigil of battle and whatever passive you like.
I tried 30 0 0 10 30 as well for a bit it works too just not at the high end tpvp.

I would think the altruism 2 piece bonus could be interesting using ether renewal. 4 piece altruism 2 piece water. (so still +30% boon duration)
I love this rune! I use 2 superior rune of the monk for the 15% boon and healing, then 4 piece superior rune of altruism for 3 stacks of might,heals and another 15% boon duration. The only cast that proc the 3 stacks of might are GoEH, signet of resto and ether renewal. I have yet to try it with healing seeds but i’m sure it works too. Water 2 and 5 do not proc it.

I think it’s fair. Defending team should have some advantage over the attacking team. If anything they need to give more things to the defending side to make WvW more interesting.
precision is the worst stat to pump.
Div is better than Wurm but + boon duration is where it’s at
I fought a few Mesmers after the patch they can’t kill me but I can’t kill them . Endless clones and insta stealth and fast movement. New rangers build where they use super hard hitting pet is also very tough to beat.
Good fight I watched it. But it was really a 1 v 3 and the last guy came after you were done. Still very impressive fight never the less.
I don’t frap my fights but I have fought a few 1 v 4s what I found is that is they are not total newbs and try to rez downed players I simply can’t kill them faster than they can rez. That’s another topic I guess for another day.

Whaaat. You ALWAYS need heals. You can’t honestly claim you don’t “need” a heal as if any heal like that is ‘wasted’ then you are not fighting tough enough fights. 1v2, 1v3, 1v4 – branch out.
Man I’m getting tired of arguing with you. Have you fought 1 v 4 before? I have lots. You can’t kill them faster than they can rez. If they are all total I mean total newbs they die in your ae anyway not going to hurt you. You get more heal with 30 arcane but I prefer passive toughness so I require less heal. In the end 5k damage reduced is the same as 5k extra healed except in one case you don’t have to lift a finger.
I started an alt thief , I would love to have something like pistol pistol skills for scepter. Get rid of all the AEs just give me single target spells that does lots of damage.
What I found is that EA doesn’t add enough to justify lowering earth.
You’re using it wrong. Water dodge is amazing (heal + 1 cleanse) and Earth dodge is a Blast Finisher + Cripple.
Na I’m not using it wrong, With bunker SD you don’t need the extra heal from water dodge and Earth Dodge is nice but Earth master trait also cripple and damage ppl.
I used target nearest ally up until a patch about a month ago where they changed the behavior to keep your target if no allies are nearby.
Took some experimentation before i found the illogical alternative “lock autotarget”.

I was thinking about taking your first pre patch build Mogar and dropping 10 in earth and putting it into arcane and picking up Ele Attunenment, Final shielding and EA, and in water going Soothing disruption, Cleansing wave and water and then earth embrace, primarily because I prefer to be tanky and hard to kill.
So two questions about that, would my damage suffer to much with it and would I be able to drop cleansing fire? If I understand everything on the tooltip I should have more then enough condition removal correct?
I had Water V ,III ,XI, Earth I , III, Arcane V and VI.
You can get away without Cleansing water in 99% of the time but when you run into a good Necro you really do need it . I use the Signet of renew as heal I guess if you use the condition remove heal then you don’t need Cleansing water. I have tried 10 earth 30 30 build. What I found is that EA doesn’t add enough to justify lowering earth. Because with Earth 1 and in earth attument I’m rocking close to 2400 toughness with protection buff and a regen ticking you are more or less unkillable for the 8 seconds protection duration.
S/D . I’m not sure what you mean by stats on items so I’ll try to answer in a general way. For WvW it’s tough call. Depends if you roam or zerg and what mix you play. Since you can also use food and sharpening stones in WvW it will take a while to get the right mix. For now I’m starting with all defensive stats and slowly work my way up the damage curve until I get to a sweet spot. So healing power, toughess, vit then power.
I would be intrigued to know how you manage to deal with the situational 1v1 situations. D/D has the mobility and dueling capabilities and Staff does have enough CC to escape. I actually switched to D/D from S/D because of that ( though I admit I switched during first month so I was probably pretty bad ).
to be honest DD vs SD is awash . I always played ranged DPS so I can’t bring myself to melee. What it comes down to is with SD you can avoid other players melee attack better but you have no burst at all . It’s death by 1000 cuts. The upside is running bunker SD you are so tough to kill it give you more time to think rather than the crazy twitch play of the DD. I dueled some very good DD players and it’s a draw every time. The hardest part of playing SD is placing your aes. I’m trying the new build because it offers me burst without losing too much ‘toughness’.

It’s freaking awesome! I played it all day in spvp and WvW. I still need to test it in tpvp and get into a few real good fights solo vs good players but so far vs bad players and avg players it’s just great. 20 stacks of might + chun earth x2 it’s insane burst. I run all cleric gear dropping water from 30 to 10 didn’t seem to hurt me much at all the only worry is my hit pts are way down may need to switch out some gear to get more vit.

ok I ran 30 0 0 10 30 all day in WvW and some Spvp S/D. Damn I love it. Granted I still yet to test it in high end play in tpvp and vs a real good soloer but so far vs avg players and bad player it’s freaking awesome .
I was runing 0 0 20 30 20 cleric gear . After the patch I’m running 30 0 0 10 30. Not sure how the new spec will work . But old spec plays the same as DD you lose some burst but gain range.
I tested the same thing. 30 0 0 10 30. all clerics . I didn’t see too much drop in how I survive so far the added burst is more than worth it. I haven’t had any good 1 v 1 yet but I have soloed sup camps with it pretty easy and taken down 1 v 2 pretty easy vs bad players.
I tested fire gm trait , you can pretty much walk around with 20+ stacks of might with and I have gotten it up to close to 30 stacks in a very short time in a fight. I tested 30 0 0 20 20 and it was pretty good. But I think I can push it to 30 0 0 10 30 . We’ll see

Lol It’s pretty amazing to read how DR is so proud of the fact you are owning this tier. I transferred from a tier 1 server to play with friends on Kain. You guys need to chill a bit. This is the worst tier… you are the best of the bad servers. Good for you to own us but it’s no great feat really.
That being said I do have a great time in this tier . A lot more small man and a lot more duels. I dare say some of the best players I fought are in this tier since in tier 1 there are so many ppl you don’t get to fight 1 v1 1v2 much. Too bad you can’t see names in WvW I really have huge respects for a lot of soloers on both DR and Feg.

Like I posted before EVERY CLASS ARE GOD LIKE in the hands of a good player. The reason you see more Ele nerf cry is because we do not have any other viable build so we are forced to play the one and only best build there is.
I fought some good mesmers. The trick I find is to kite. The clones don’t move much so if you can drag him away from his clones you won’t get hurt much. I play scepter so I can also kill the clones at distance maybe harder for DD.
Tanky eles are tough yes. I take on 2 all the time in WvW. BUT I have fought just about all other class in WvW and in the hands of a good player they are JUST as tanky and deal just as much damage as ele. I have fought crazy tanky necro who took on 3 players and killed them all. I fought crazy tanky warrior and rangers even crazy tanky chain stealth thief.
point is every class can do it. You see more eles build for heal/tank because EVERY OTHER BUILD SUCKS for us. We are just forced to play that way.
You don’t have to land two ccs to hit dragons tooth? You do know that dragons tooth will hit after updraft if you actually swap quickly enough to fire right? They cannot even dodge roll it, they have to use a stun breaker, I tested this in an empty lobby with a friend a while ago.
They are going to use a stun breaker good players will ALWAYS use a stun breaker when you use updraft on them. You’d be nuts not to.
I play scepter dagger. I’m dumb I know. When I look at DD builds everything just work so well. How about a little love for Scepter and Staff? I’m not asking for much just change some of the ground targeted ae to targeted or at very least shorten the timer on dragon tooth . It’s kinda dumb that I have to use TWO ccs just to land 1 spell.

I play ele. I would say chain stealth Thieves are pain but not hard to fight. Pretty much any well played bunker class are hard to fight. I have fought 5+ min fights vs DD eles, Necros, Warrior, Bunker Ranger and Guardians.
I win 1 v 2 and sometimes 1 v 3. So I’m thinking all the ppl I fought 5+ mins with can probably pull off the same thing.
