What’s mentioned isn’t the feature patch, it’s the changes made to the Chinese client specifically for the Chinese release.

Also, references to the PvE locker, aka the Wardrobe, have already been added to the game files.

Yes, I only referenced this because it gives us a good clue when the features patch is being released. Its going to contain a lot of additional stuff, like the runes revamp, 2 sigils in 2-h weapons, new spvp rewards etc…

I don’t see how messing with our systems can be construed as Features, QOL or anything really.

I was under the impression that the “Features Patch” would set up the systems for Season 2 of the LS.

to me-
QOL would be:
a PvE locker
a UI tab for consumables/ mini’s

features would include things like new weapon skills per class.
Order missions
housing!

Messing with my dyes and putting weird gates on skills for new players does not qualify
and nowhere do I see any mention of the content more related to expansions like zones, skills, classes, zones , races

this is disappointing even to me- I am too polite to say what I actually think of it

Doing endgame? What game are you playing? Are you playing another game that has actual endgame, than you should mention it. Like this:

I like how you directly state that everyone is bored at level 80 in the game. Everyone is not max level and everyone is not bored. Percentages vary with who you ask.

OP – it depends a lot on your server and also in which races areas you play- some are a lot more busy than others.
There are generally people around in Queensdale and Wayfarers Foothills for example.

Many people have also been extremely involved in the sacking of LA and the events surrounding that.
now that this is over I suspect that people will spread out a bit.

Guest to a couple of servers and see how the population is- keep in mind that different server have different focus.
So a server that is heavily into WvW or PvP might not have a high PvE pop- while PvE heavy servers might suck at WvW

Call out events in map too- more often than not there are people around that you just don’t see and they will come running

It is bad enough running around on a Sylvari with all the NPC hate now- can you imagine if I was wearing Scarlet’s hair?

Seriously- development time does not grow on trees.

A hair kit is not expensive in terms of in game gold and even less so in real money.

I hear very very good things about Aurora Glade from my friends and I am on Gunnar’s Hold since betas- we have a pretty cool and very relaxed community

I have played pen and paper Roleplaying games since the days of AD&D.

Never really tried it in pc games really, apart form the story I always make for all of my characters and the fact that I have a running story in my head wherever I go.
Which is incidentally why I have so many characters- they are all distinct people to me

Here and there I have run into some RPers in GW2 and it always makes me so happy.
RPers have a lot of fun- because they really live in the world.

More tools would be cool- but all you really need is your imagination.

It really really bugs me however that we have all these tables/ pubs and chairs in game and we can’t sit on them or even interact with the food and the drinks

The problem is it’s more trouble than its worth, it would get old soon, it would bring a bunch of new bugs and support tickets and at the end most people wouldn’t care about it after a couple of months.

I do not agree, the players who want housing want it because it gives you an emotional connection to the world our characters live in.

I realize there are some players who do not care for housing, but many many players do.

Housing done right can be great for the game because it can give incentive to do content, revitalize maps, crafting, trade etc etc.

it is good to sometimes just have stuff to do in game that does not involve killing x amount of mobs over and over.

If anything it will add to the longevity and stability of the player base

An interesting possibility, as he could be playing us all for fools with an act. It is a very good act however.

what makes me most suspicious that it might be him is the fact that even though he plays a part in the human noble personal story- he has also consistently been part of the Living Story.
So he is known to players regardless of race or story choices.
No other PS character does that, that I am aware of.

He is also a noble of DR who is fairly involved in politics and well aware of the corruption in the ministry.
He is a warrior- and actually a pretty good fighter too.
I have long suspected him to be a member of the Order of Whispers- like Lady Wynne (the Order eyes in the Ministry)

I just really like having different classes to play with- all the classes are unique and have their own playstyle.
Heck I even have multiples of my favorite classes so I could try different things

I have 5 80’s and I love the choice it gives me- I have 3 more in their 40/50 and one brand new one at lvl17 or so.

I just basically run around on them and do what I feel like doing- before I know it they are 80

If you delete your characters you won’t lose your stuff if you put it all in your bank- same with your money.
Server does make a huge difference in how the game feels

There are several zones for each couple of levels so just check on the zone level and go anywhere that matches your level

most people don’t really party for hearts/ exploring unless they are leveling together from scratch- I often run into someone and we do some stuff together but it is never in a party- this game is very free in that you can jump in an out of stuff on a whim anywhere- so being in a party is sometimes limiting to people, because it affects your pace.

That does not mean that people don’t interact with each other, because they do.
But you don’t have to be in a party to talk to other players.

At big events people do party up

On the other hand, it is a bit exciting. Not only to see a clear ending but also the information Anet promised to give out with the end of GW2, introducing a game status with more info about the feature patches and also about what is to await after that.

Well, we already have information of what Anet is working on as a whole. Hopefully, this will be more specific info that will answer some questions.

How can you feel shackled? Every race can play every class and none get a better benefit then the other. You aren’t “required” to play a certain class. There are multiple ways upon all aspects to play each class.

I do not feel shackled in GW2- that was my point.

I also don’t like being dependent on other people to do content- so the whole waiting for healer so I can just go on with what I want to do just does not cut it as far as I am concerned

I really really like sword/torch with GS but the traits are really confusing to me here because it looks like if you trait for weapons you lose a ton of damage.

I PVE- so that is what I will use her for- I don’t really care about survivablilty since I am used to playing pretty glassy

Any help with a high damage build for those weapons will be awesome

Mb AvA in ESO on a huge map with copy-pasted keeps will be nice, but i could barely make myself play through starting pve stuff for a day before i turned off this clunky crap which zenimax calls a game.

Not really, just the content isn’t engaging at all AND combat and animations are horrible.

Um what? The combat here is more engaging than most other games, if anything that’s probably the best aspect of this game. Don’t even get me started on animations combat wise in other games, heck games like FF14 don’t even show your missiles (arrows, spells) flying through the air. All you see is a splash on the enemy, now that’s horrible animations right there.

ESO I played in the beta and all I can say is lol. At this point I can’ t give my keys away.

Wildstar looks promising but beyond the housing it is way too samey for me.

I think it is more a case of other games trying to keep up with GW 2 tbh

Marriage in game would be really really weird without Player Housing.

I remember during the Horizontal progression CDI some one made a very detailed housing/ neighborhood proposal that included weddings etc.

for me personally I don’t know how comfortable I would be with player marriage- I don’t think I would go there.

I like Kasmeer and Marjory- I was interested in Kasmeer’s story since she showed up so spectacularly during South sun.
Marjory- I love her dry, sarcatic, flirty manner that hides her mind- she is also a real bad-kitten in a fight.
I have never liked Braham and Rox just doesn’t speak to me at all.
Braham pretty much proved to me during the last update that he should just keep his mouth shut
Taimi is too unknown to me to have any impact.

I do prefer this cast to Destiny’s Edge though- omg don’t get me started on that bunch of angsty teenagers- I would slap everyone of them silly if I could.

The fact that Kasmeer and Marjory just “are” is one of the things I like most about them honestly.
It is nice to see a simple relationship that has no other reason but just being.

I am so very tired of relationships always being milked for drama.
Sometimes it works sure- but in this case I feel there is enough surrounding drama going on that I appreciate that they are just together.

Everything doesn’t have to be a plot point- some things can just be window dressing- I am fine with that

I have lost count on how many times I have seen Mesmers facehugging a boss twanging away on GS 1- or casting feedback on the one melee mob in a battle.

And make no mistake it is not new players- because in my experience at least genuinely new people ask questions and are eager to learn.

I hear Anet developed more comprehensive tutorials for the China release- I have good hope we will see those implemented.

The problem is really the term casual here and specifically the go to defense “but I am a casual player” in the GW2 community. MMORPG do not mainly require special hand coordination skills or insane reaction times. The thing they really require is the ability to perceive a given challenge/situation, apply your mind to it and find a solution. This is basic human nature (or at least one would think).

Casual players, the real ones, not the ones who equate “casual” with “very bad” as an act of self defense, may not have ascended gear, maybe not even full exotics, maybe they don´t have a special food buff in their inventory, but they still have their working mind. And even if one was really not able to put his mind to work on a given challenge, it takes like 2 minutes of google searching to find a page that explains a build, class, skill, strategy, whatever.

But that is the thing- I call myself casual because I do not research builds for hours, have Ascended gear or do Dungeons much at all- to me that is a casual player.

I do however have a mind- and I use it to the best of my ability.
I do my best and I learn from my mistakes.
I am by no means a good player

What I see though is players not even bothering on reading the description on their skill bar- that is lazy.
There is no other word for it.

In big fights you at least have to have some situational awareness, read map chat and pay attention to what is happening around you.

out of my 5 80’s I’d say my Mesmer is the most balanced and my go to character.
I will try all new content on her first, she barely has 16 000 hp but boy does she kick butt

Engineer is an absolute hoot to play- just for the sheer mayhem they can cause.
It is also a very active class and I enjoy that.

I do love my Ranger and my Necro but they do not have the badaboom factor of my Engi or the deadly elegance of my Mesmer.

Ele is a challenge I am currently trying to come to grips with

I personally do not enjoy the heavies at all- My Guardian is barely hanging on at lvl45 because she is dead boring and I can’t get a Warrior past lvl10- I don’t even have one anymore.
I find thief too spammy- don’t have one anymore either.

Really just pick the class you enjoy the most be it for whatever reason and go for it- if you have fun you will be happy
