I play mostly alone too OP but my experience has been the exact opposite, I never hesitate to ask anything in map and I have never actually had a negative response.

I like the LS changing the maps – Kessex has gone through about 4 incarnations and the hearts have indeed been changed, as has the npc dialog in the Havens- I love it.

I would not just stop at Queensdale though_ I would also like to finalize the treaty with the Charr and lay the ghosts to rest.
I would like to see Orr green- settle South sun.
Expand Ebonhawke….

So many things can happen in the game if we are just willing for the zones/stories to change.
The world can really be alive.

The Personal Story is the major problem with this- I personally would not mind at all if they changed the whole concept of how it works- make it clearly state that it is in the past- have an overview of the old personal Story – and make a new one.

Anything really- to stop the World being kept in a stasis by it

I love to play hit and run classes. In DND, I am always the scout, rogue, thief, ranger, etc.

I would fall in love with the ranger if I could ditch the stupid clunky pet and the longbow was actually good. Oh, their utilities are lack luster.

I will give necro a shot. Staves look pretty neat. Their utilities dont look that great either.

I know you have not really played Engi much but one of my Engi’s, I play as what I can only describe as, hit, run and troll.
She uses dual pistols/flame thrower/elixer gun

My Necro is sort of dash and dodge- I play her without minions- Axe/Warhorn, Scepter Dagger- with wells as utilities, traited to ground target.
I actually find her utilities awesome.
She is very much a skirmisher type character for me

My Ranger is not a hit and run type at all.
But if you want fairly mobile pets try Raven/ Hawk- I have never had any trouble with them at all.
my Ranger is an actual Archer type so I play her with LB/SB

GW2 is the perfect game for just exploring with your girlfriend.

It is beautiful and very fun and relaxing if you are playing together.

It is a great choice for what you want

have you tried Necro?
For the longest time I didn’t even consider Necro because I hate the minions and I didn’t find the whole look pleasing at all.

then I made a well based Necro.
She probably made it to 80 fastest of all my characters and she is a hoot to play.

Don’t worry too much if you cannot find only one profession.
I have 5 80’s and I play all of them equally.
It is much more important that you enjoy yourself- by all means mix it up, keeps things interesting

So yes he was just on now again, I know his real name I have been using that in speaking to him, I have also been speaking in our native language.

There is no reason for him to ignore me at all

Yeah since I just recently returned to the game about a month ago, I have no interest whatsoever in these characters or the story. Now, if I were still able to go back and play through the earlier LS content, then it might be a different story. But Anet’s current zergfest LS events kind of make being able to go back and play through these things impossible. So for right now, I basically just skip through all the dialogue so I can get the achievement.

It wouldnt make a difference because the bulk of the story wasnt even in the game in the past releases you’re speaking about. The bulk of the lore was delivered through short stories they released with each update. Basically if you want to learn the backstory to the character dialog its available right now in the same format it was available back then, playing the actual content related to that story will not give you much in terms of character development.

or he could have done the 10 minute instance in the Deadend bar that was specifically put in the game to give a recap of the LS so far.

he might not have known all the back story but it would have been much more productive than just skipping dialog and saying meh

What do you do if you suspect that an account has been hacked?

I have a friend who bought the game shortly after launch but stopped playing around Desc ’12- now suddenly I see his character logged in.
At first I was really glad and said hi- because he used to be in my family guild, but he instantly logged off.

I see his character online at strange times and he has never responded to any of my in game whispers or messages.
He just logs off

I just saw him at the bank in DR now.

Is there anything I can do about this because I honestly think his account has been hacked

LA is a warzone and the surrounding lands are dealing with the fall out- you have NPC’s talking of mass graves and dead children.
You have droves of dying Lion Guard
the city itself is a hell hole atm

seems pretty serious to me

Not saying that these things were not planned months ago-
I do however think that the writers learning to script and the ambient dialogue, story instances were a result of the CDI

Sylvari is the mater race

we are the most graceful.
have the best animations
have the best character customization
the ability to grow our own armor
as a bonus we glow at night.
Arguably the best racial elite- take root is amazing

It seriously bothers me deeply that whenever I play one of my 3 humans I do not glow.
So much that I have made additional Sylvari’s to compensate for my poor human 80’s

I believe it is too early to expect to see results from the horizontal/vertical progression CDI
Especially since those types of things affect several in game systems

off the top of my head

I love how extremely different the two look from each other.

OP why don’t you just check it out?
The game has changed quite a bit

Then again you might be missing a large chunk of the game if you are looking for end game traditional MMO style, because nothing magically happens when you hit 80 here.
The game just opens up for you more

Fun is a very subjective thing- I have been having fun here since the BWE’s.
For me more traditional MMO’s are like pulling my teeth out while being on fire.

You just have to see for yourself- no one can decide for you if it is fun

People have posted screenshots on the forums before. If you get your character up against a wall you can manipulate the camera angle to go through their mask – revealing what is behind. I HOPE that it’s just a placeholder face because it is so ridiculously terrifying.

I have gotten pretty bad distortions on my humans doing that face against the wall trick- so it might actually look pretty good.

that face- if you discount the distortion- is so serene looking/ almost madonna like, it gave me quite a laugh, considering it belongs to Sayeh al’rajihd

It looks like a very light green in the painting – my Necro is similar but I went with Lily which is an ashen white, with a red glow
The hairstyle in the painting looks very like the one I have on my Engi

for my Mesmer I went for the very pale light brown with a very slight pale pink pattern and a white glow- the idea was to make her look like the moon- pale and reflective

The Priory is a bunch of scholars and the Order of Whispers is a bunch of secretive spies. Can’t really see them opening their doors to the masses to socialize.

We do have 5 huge racial cities though :P

Now is the time to learn the ins and outs of your class.
You might want to up your defensive capabilities a bit until you are better at damage mitigation and evasion.

hehe I deleted my first Sylvari- who was a mesmer btw because of this, so it is not just the medium boots.
I think it is certain body types that do this- since then I have only chosen very slender body types.
atm I have 5 Sylvari’s and none of them have this issues at all anymore.

my poor Mesmer looked like she could kickstart a 747

I use t1 with my vigil leggings because I wanted to see as much of my pattern as possible.
I rather like it.
It also doesn’t clip at all

I just went to speak to the Pale Tree she doesn’t have any new info as such but there is one thing struck me- The Pale Tree mentions that the Sylvari needed Ceara and that she didn’t care.
She also mentions that Ceara turned away form this destiny.

now I am very curious to know what that might have been, and what actually happened to Ceara.

Scarlet is bent on her own way but how much of that is her own or just a kicking against the pricks of whatever it was she was supposed to accomplish?

Anyway it just made me wonder if we will ever find out

I love it when the res please types are lying in overlapping red circles and they are dead/ dead.
The remaining people are fighting for their lives- but no- cannot way point- have to spam res please.

I will go out of my way and above and beyond to get a downed player back up.

There are quite a few non absurd weapons available.

The fact that you see so many is an indication that they appeal to a lot of people.

It is also not really so bizarre if you look at the aesthetics of the different races and their respective tech levels- it is a mixed bag out there

They have been warning people away from their city since launch.
at the moment there is a war on their doorstep.
They have never been exactly friendly- what did you expect they would do.

As for why it is in they game, because it makes sense?

I wouldn’t be against the Largos as a playable race, but there’s several strong reasons as to why I don’t think they will be.

1. A large part of the appeal of the Largos comes from their mystique; the fact that they are secretive, reclusive, and that we know so little about them. Once they become a playable race, this mystique will disappear. We’ll know how their society is structured, why most Largos seem to go around assassinating people, and what they look like beneath their masks. It’s hard to think of Largos as cool, grim assassins anymore once you’ve seen a couple strolling down Lion’s Arch or Divinity’s Reach, wielding Bifrost or shooting rainbow ponies.

2. Largos are an aquatic race. This means that they’d have an underwater capital, and their starting zone would most likely be mostly or completely aquatic. Personally I like underwater combat, but the vast majority of players seem to loathe it with a passion. Moreover, from a lore perspective, it would not make much sense to suddenly see hundreds of Largos just wandering around on land, anymore than it would to see Quaggans suddenly wandering around in places like Fireheart Rise.

3. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Largos wings would be a clipping nightmare for the armor artists. They already have enough problems with Charr tails, and those only have a single point of contact with the body frame. Can you imagine trying to design armor for a race that has two huge wings sprouting from their back, clipping with armor, weapons and backpieces?

I see your points but I don’t personally agree with any of them

1. This is actually a plus for me- I would love to find out more about their culture.

We already suspect that they are not all assassin types and I would pay money to see a Largos couple walk down the street with a bifrost and a dreamer

2 Again a plus- an underwater city would be amazing.
we do know that they come on land though so they are more amphibian than aquatic.

Seeing Largos around on maps would be no more weird than seeing Charrs swimming around underwater.
Perfect opportunity to overhaul underwater combat

3. We currently have winged back pieces and I haven’t seen any one complain about those.
It might cause problems but given how humanoid they are and seeing that those races have the least clipping issues in the game – It might not be as bad as you think.

most back pieces would be unusable though but having fins- that I assume will be customized at creation, more than makes up for that

I was under the impression that they are separating the LS and the features updates because they felt that it confused players.

So the next feature update is just that, a feature update.

I was looking at the map after I got defeated in an event and unless I’m doing something wrong, it seems it doesn’t let you zoom out past the LA level so only 3 waypoints are available AFAIK.

mmm can’t remember honestly but those 3 are very close to the exit- so if she has them it is just a matter of walking out the door.

But honestly I understand her reaction OP.
If you had not played in a long time and then log into LA as it is now it will be a shock.

My husband has logged out over less- last time I asked him to help me- he died within 5 min, decided it sucked and logged out.

I generally get

cultural T1 at level 35 and I run with that until
lvl 60 when I buy tier 2.
T1 and T2 have very nice stats to them
At 80 I get exotics

you can keep your gear fairly current by just equipping better drops or using heart vendors – most maps have gear in their level range.

Or you can just buy off the TP- but mid range gear is expensive

I am not a fan of masks or any head gear really
my Sylvari Mesmer wears my Sylvari Ele’s starter gem though
