Largos are out as, according to the personal story, they are incredibly rare and avoid contact with all other races if at all possible. It would be as stupid as the Miqo’te in FF14 ARR – they’re supposedly rare and solitary creatures yet the designers make them in such a way that EVERYONE who faps to nekomimi will roll one.

Largos- while rare- since they come for the endless ocean- are not solitary creatures at all.
They have a very structured society made up of the great Houses, the NPC’s we come into contact with belong to one faction the Tethyos Compact.

They do keep to themselves but seeing that they are basically fleeing horrors in the unending ocean there is no reason why they cannot mingle with the other races- they did co-exist with the quaggans for instance.

Btw being a 42 year old female that has apparently lived a sheltered life, I had to Google nekomini- and all I can say is don’t know how you get from there to Largos.

Appart from that he is my top suspect for being “E”

He is a Noble of DR interested in politics
He is well aware of the intrigue in the Ministry
He has a recurring appearance in the LS- so he is known to people who do not know him form the Human Story
His personality always seems like a mask to me- I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he is Order of Whispers

Why don’t you level up a new character?
More pertinently why should Anet waste resources to facilitate a system that is redundant?

Largos needs to be playable- seriously.
They are a major race though, not one of the tribal races that OP is talking about.

Personally I think they are the best contenders after Tengu, which is sort of a given

In the personal story where you give your word to let one of the Court live if they give you info- she just turns right around and kills it, breaking my word without a by your leave- I wanted to give her one upside the head.

She has always struck me as rather mean and unfeeling and untrustworthy.
It makes me very uncomfortable that she is a firstborn that most Sylvari look up to

Add the recent Living Story into the mix and- yes- I don’t trust her at all.
I wouldn’t be surprised ar all if she is a lot darker than we are led to believe.
So what I most would like to say to her – is stay the heck away form me and mine, or else

The reason she seems so dark and untrustworthy is because she was touched by Faolain, and while it is never stated I’m pretty sure that her body is slowly being taken over by Nightmare – a fact which she is trying very hard to conceal. (The Aetherpath possible touches on this a little as well, Caithe is trying to stop Scarlet from revealing information about her).

Why is that important? Because a Sylvari cannot be returned from Nightmare, so I guess the idea is that Caithe has been touched by nightmare and cannot be cured.

that is even more reason for me not to trust her though- as I said I have no sympathy for her.
I don’t want to tell her that I love her or some such- I want as little to do with her as possible

Trahearne on the other hand, I do trust, I have a lot of time for him

I started during the headstart a year and a half ago and frankly if you where not with the mob of people leveling you always ran into events that had not been completed. What really do you expect? It is not possible to do all the events, it is not meant for all the events to be done all the time which is why there is a difference in completed and incomplete graphics and npc chat.

I see people everywhere really- not mobs or zergs but enough people to be surprising.

Some events also are on a fairly short repeat cycle, so if I did it 5 minutes ago I am not going to do it again, unless some poor soul is going at it alone.

I sometimes get the itch to play hero and pick and out of the way map and clear it from one end to the other- opening wp’s, killing roaming champs, saving villages etc. Usually there are others with exactly this in mind.

I honestly prefer the way it is now to the absolute crush we had at head start

I don’t think that Scarlet is after LA as such- LA is just collateral damage to her.

Certain people love their walls of text and trying to read back and review whats been said by the community/devs as well as following a bunch of links all feels very cumbersome and time consuming.

I’d like the CDI process to be easier to follow. Ideas that look to streamline the CDI process is what Id like to see.

my friend got some claim tickets and tried out these new skins, they are great.. someone else told me they sold a few for a bunch of gold.. i spent a ton of gems and have no claim tickets, i’ll get them by bidding what little gold i have left.. what a great system, happy heart holidays everyone, i love this game

Never go for the RNG- apart from the fact that it is horribly stacked against you, I find the whole idea of spending money on chance for something questionable.

So always go for the gold option- I really want the pistols for my Engi, but it will have to be off the TP so it will take a while.

I have also been thinking on the “personal nemesis” for some time- Scarlet has never struck me as very personal since she is more an agent of mass destruction- we also have no prior knowledge of her.
Saying that we can “pigeonhole” her into a nemesis role doesn’t wash for me simply because of the fact that it is not personal for her.

The only personal grudge she seems to have is with whatever is in her head.
I am extremely curious to know what it is.

I am more curious than ever to see if the promised personal nemesis will show up

I was really surprised when the np’c referred to my character as a person- and actually wanted my input.
It made me feel like I was part of the story in a way that had been very lacking.

Someone shouts “Oak up” – someone else who is on the train at Boar says “wait for train” or “don’t kill” – doesn’t even say please, as if it’s a divine right to the train.

If this doesn’t tell you what’s wrong with the Champ Train nothing will.

Actually this doesn’t make the train itself wrong. Some people like to play that way.

However, it does showcase many of things wrong with people today. No manners, no sportsmanship, no patience….. I could go on, but it’s be a waste of time and effort. Too many people will argue that there is nothing wrong with the ‘me first, me first, me me mememememememememe!’ mentality that is taking over.

Actually “mememe” has become the standard response to players on my server -in the train or not- who are making it unpleasant for others.

Not sure why you think that having a sub will magically give you everything for free-

I played DDO and that game milked me like a cow in addition to my sub and also had me pay to play an Artificer-

so to answer your question: hell no

OP- Kudo’s on playing with your daughter and congrats on hitting 80.

This game unlike others, there is nothing magical that happens when you hit 80, because you still can and imo should do the things you enjoyed doing before hand.
The only difference is that you now have more options open to you.

1.- 19 g is quite a lot- when I hit 80 originally I had 57 s
As for cultural armor I guess you mean tier3?
that is very expensive but it is totally a matter of how much you like the skin and if you have the money to chuck away because it has rare (yellow stats)

you can make money through various ways- by doing dungeons, exploring and harvesting and selling the mats, through Living Story, by doing world bosses etc.
just play what you like/ do a bit of everything and if you are not too much in a hurry and it will pile up

2- I don’t do dungeons but – my advice would be to create your own group for what ever dungeon you and your daughter want to try and state clearly: New player, all classes/levels welcome will stop for cutscenes.
This will hopefully keep the min maxers out of your group

3- I don’t have a warrior so I can’t help there- check the warrior profession forum and take everything with a grain of salt

4- Enjoy yourself and immerse yourself in the beautiful world- have fun doing the things you like- not what you think you should be doing for xyz reasons- Happy Hunting

I usually stick with masterwork gear/ karma gear until level 35
and then I buy cultural gear t1
that lasts me until lvl 60 when I buy cultural lvl 2
at 80 I just buy exotics

I tend to pick names that appeal to the idea/ concept I have of the character when I make them.
If that ends up being lore friendly- great.

My engi has two first names: Isabella Katerina
and my mesmer’s name- describes her personality and her profession: Diamond Mask

I still think that the drop rate should be increased- someone here suggested guaranteed drop from giant/risen giant.
Seems like a great and rather logical solution to me.

and yes people do not know what they are for- the one I got, I sold for something ridiculous like 2s back at launch- ouch

Like others here have said, scepter being not so great for a ranged weapon, I don’t really have a use for Immobulus, although I do like the effects. For a Necro, however, I’d much prefer Eye of Rodgort, even if it does mean having to farm up 500 T6 blood. I can stand to bear 10 Giant eyes being bought on the TP if need be.

I originally thought I could farm the bloods by killing skelks in Southsun- man I changed my mind quickly.

In the end I bought t6 crafting bags with laurels- and kept the bloods, sold the rest.
I had to start with 7g and no laurels too because I used all my laurels on dye -.-
I just put in buy orders every 10-20 or so gold- still took me a month

my Necro loves me though

I woulds go for Ranger pet skins- maybe then I can get an actual crow for my Crowgirl.

I am not sure how I feel about leveling pets but I am all for some kind of quest that sends you off to the wilds to find an egg or rare beastie

They can just be skins for current pets we have too- no need to make new pets

Thankfully it’s because the skins created with Giant Eyes are not very popular.

Immobulus – “Sparkly hearts n’ stars wand”. Just like the Wintersday Princess Wand, most players eschew this weapon because of how “girly” it is. (I want one, but I’m in the minority, it would seem.)

Lidless Eye – “Creepy giant eye wand”. Good for a Necro, but not very appropriate for other Scepter wielding classes. The 250 Powerful Blood probably also discourages a lot of people.

Melandru’s Gaze – A rather plain looking staff skin, IMO. The relatively low price suggests this view is probably shared by most players.

Wall of the Mists – Most players I’ve seen don’t seem to want glowy pink/purple weapons unless they’re Mesmers (which can’t use Shields). The skin also shares the same base appearance as the Ghastly Shield, so players who like the look could just get that instead.

Lidless Eye is needed to craft Eye of Rodgort- which I admit is personal taste but I consider it the Necro Legendary.
I nearly killed myself crafting it because I had to have it- no buts.
500 t6 bloods was no fun I assure you.

As for pink wispy weapons- I have Vision of the Mists on my Mesmer- it is not the shield obviously so didn’t require any Giant Eyes.

Immobulus on the other hand is one of the best looking weapons in the game imo- I am hating myself already because I think I just might have to make it for my guardian if she actually makes it to 80- so far she is happy with the princess wand and she might just have to stay that way.
If only I can find a staff to match it- and no, don’t say Bifrost :P

Mesmer- very versatile and can pretty much change into a new class by just switching weapons and some traits.

Great fun to play and if you have an Engi you are used to a more challenging class.

Only thing is AOE is not exactly Mesmer’s strong point

it is a very strong solo class.

For me Warriors are unutterably boring to play- have never been able to get one past lvl16 or so.

yup- I don’t want to craft ascended anything and yet I get the stupid mats- let me vendor them if you don’t want it on the tp

Ironically I find this the most social game I have played simply because I am not forced to group.
It makes a huge difference to how I interact with other players because of it.

If someone is on my friends list it is because I like them- not because I need to know them so I can do content

Giant Eyes are a pain and since I ever only saw one since pre-release, I just bought mine for Eye of Rodgort.
The only reason I can think of why Immobulus requires so many is the select stats feature it has.
Giant Eyes have always been really really rare.
Your best bet is just to put in buy orders

I like the idea of a template and having a spesific CDI forum. My suggestion would be to stick it in the Game section just above where General Discussion is, so max amount of people can easily see it. You are missing the point completely.
No none is saying that Anet does not have to eat and no one is denying that the gemstore supports the game.

the gold you convert to gems- those gems where bought with real money by someone else and converted to gold.

Whether or not we can afford it is not the issue either.

The issue is adding an item in the store that gives an advantage that no in game item gives.
So it is no longer cosmetic or convenience.
The store is about cosmetics and convenience.

Although BLSK do give you a 100% chance of getting the rune back- they do not qualify as pay to win to me because I get them for the game.

Mystic Kits have such a high salvage rate in my experience that I rarely use my Black Lion kits

I certainly don’t get sprockets from my ori tools- or from my other unlimited tools either

This has happened to me- zoning in and out of map seems to work.
If you happen to be doing a major event though that is about as useful as having no skills

I think this pick was a majour mistake.
1) the previous tools were all about convenience and added character customization

2) they were no different than any ori tools in game- just infinite

3) with this pick they closed the avenue of customization because now people are concerned with the" benefits" and “possible future benefits”

4) long term this will lose them sales because people will be less likely to buy a cool tools in case something “better comes along”

5) By selling a tool that does what no other tool in the game can do- in addition to being infinite, for real money ( gold conversion is irrelevant imo) it is very definitely paying for advantage that you cannot get from ingame tools- that is ptw

6) loss of goodwill will cost them sales- i have 2 sets of the tools- I will not buy another, when I was planning on buying all future tools because I like to match them to my characters.
Nevermind the collateral damage from people who simply will not support a ptw game

Thing is the DE’s in the rest of the world are fun but not rewarding.
I think a big problem is that the reward system in the game does not show case what is best in the game- the open world.

I constantly hear – there is no reason to return to map xyz if I have world completion, now personally , I don’t need a reason because I love just bumming around.

I do however also have goals in the game and since my favorite activity is not giving me the means to reach those goals. I have to alter my play-style and the way I spend my time in game.

So until the loot system and reward system in the game gets a major overhaul so that players can truly spend their time how they want- the trains will go on.

I don’t think they will ever go away because some people do enjoy it and the Queens train on my server has pretty much become the new social hangout.

She just robs me the wrong way too

I just finished crafting Vision of the Mists, right after I crafted Eye of Rodgort. Those 2 things ate up my time like nobodies bussiness. While I realise those were carrots I chose, my first thought tonight was thank the stars, now I am free from chasing carrots. I am planning on just bumming around on my favourite maps, level my baby guardian some, just chill out really. Oh since I love the Marroinette, I will be there too.
