I do want to point out though that there is a pathway and a blocked off portal area leading to the territory between Divinity’s and Harathi. This pathway is just as obvious as any other, and who knows, maybe they’ll create a territory that isn’t a box in order for it to fit well.

I’m of the opinion that Sylvari don’t have blood as you or I would know it. I believe that being plants, they have some type of chlorophyll for photosynthesis. I think their insides would be more like a tree or a stalk.

@zeefa
Sylvaria are go at imitating, but there is no evidence that they are any more self aware than the tree that just fell over on my roof last night.

Man, I gotta say that you are good at imitating self awareness, but since there’s no evidence that you are, I am going to be eating you now. I’d say no hard feelings, but there’s no evidence that you would care. :P

After Arah: bloodstones, Gods, Mursaat and more

I personally don’t see the inconsistencies as the gods manipulating humanity. I mean everything that we have seen in game (GW1) shows that the gods loved humanity and left because their interference was causing trouble. My personal interpretation, coming from years of devotion to the 6 True Gods, is that humans made assumption in their history, which lead to them glorifying the gods even more. I mean we do know that the gods, specifically Melandru, did some terraforming of the land, and this could have lead to the assumption that they created the land. The same goes for the spreading of magic and the separation through the Bloodstones.

It’s hard to say that the Bloodstones have ever really done their job though, when you really look at it. I mean here in GW2 every profession can help in the area of preservation as well as 1 other area of magic, and in Guild Wars 1 each profession had secondary profession abilities which allowed them to mix their way into multiple areas of magic.

I mean the only way that anyone can say that the Bloodstones have done their job is that no 1 specific spell can bring forth effects from multiple stones. Otherwise each profession seems to have abilities in each sphere of magical influence, even though certain professions are usually much stronger at it than others.

Narcemus.1348

Well, I think he is pointing to the armada that Zhaitan is supposed to have that patrols the sea of sorrow from Orr to the ring of fire islands. One would assume and if the DSD was, for some reason, moving towards Tyria (continent) that he would run into this armada.

Actually, the Margonites spent time in the area when it was the Crystal Sea, before Abaddon’s fall. So they may have made a few things along the “coasts” of this area, but nothing in the area itself. And much of what the humans following Turai Ossa built were most likely the wooden structures not the statues and monuments, because of their short time period there.

There’s a difference between having an alliance, and intermingling everyone’s minions. I mean in real world standards, in WWII there were the Allies, and sure you may have had Americans following orders from the English and such, but in the end their allegiance was always to America.

And even if there was this full fledged mingling of minions, it wouldn’t be a champion of Menzies or Dhuum, but a champion of the Alliance of Fallen Gods.

I personally would have enjoyed if it could be tied to your personal story, and you could link youself to a specific character that you really enjoyed back in GW 1. Whether your human claimed to be an ancestor, or the sylvari chose them as a personal hero, or even if the charr chose that individual as a person they despised, only to learn what good they did for the world and grow to admire their courage. And perhaps if you didn’t have a linked account to could be explained to you thru Mhenlo or one of the others.

Silvari immune to Zhaitan?

in Lore

Narcemus.1348

No, in the story Zhaitan has had undead killing all peoples and shipping their corpses back to Orr to be resurrected. It is also claimed that Zhaitan’s Champions have the power to raise the undead themselves. But it would make little sense for there to be Norn around Orr when it was risen. I mean I could perhaps agree with Asura and Charr pirates there, but Norn, based on where they live, would have no reason to raid the peninsula’s remains.

It makes sense that since the people of Kryta have come to fully believe the story of Kormir’s ascension in Nightfall, that they would eventually build a statue to Kormir there. Sadly with the world being stuck in time in GW1, no physical change happened that we could see with our own eyes.

Resettling of Orr

in Lore

Posted by: Narcemus.1348

Narcemus.1348

Yeah, it seems to make more sense that it will eventually become more of a multi-cultural civilization eventually. I mean humanity has seemed to cut off all ties to Orr because of the constant attacks from orrian undead in both games. And the Charr have enough issues to handle, with the dragonbrand, ogres, flame legion and Ascalonian ghosts. I mean the last thing they want to inherit is possible DSD minions, Branded Minions, and Joko’s Undead in a completely ‘uncivilized’ land.

It makes more sense to me that the pact would continue to own that land for a while, and it would grow into a multi-cultural metropolis, perhaps tied in with LA, or perhaps of it’s own, being closer tied to the pact.

Or, and I know this is a crazy thought, but swimming was very easy and very possible. The only reason we didn’t see it was because of A) Game Mechanics, or Our characters never learned how to swim. I mean who wants to swim in 50 pounds of armor anyways, it would suck. If it didn’t kill you.

Lyssa has control over water, grenth has control over ice. This is different from Guild Wars 1 where the only control of water was Grenth’s control over ice, because Lyssa was only said to have control of chaotic non-elemental magic.

My stance on the Temple of Ages is that it is not in the same place that it was before. Either a sink hole appeared under the hill that the temple was on (my personal preference, and rather likely in a major flooding situation), or the hill was washed out, and the territory was sunk into the swamp by the erosion of the rock. Another possibility, one that isn’t brought up often, is that it has something to do with the weakening of the barrier between our world and the underworld.

Well, the whole meaning of the WvW and major inter-guild fighting could be explained simply by the fact that Zhaitan wiped out most guild halls with his Tsunami, and then cut off contact with him by his undead armada. So without guild halls to fight between, the only choice was to enter the mists and take the battle there.

The Six Gods: Borrowed Power From Dragons

in Lore

Posted by: Narcemus.1348

Narcemus.1348

Okay, I think these kinds of theories are bogus, because of the fact that if there was meant to be a tie in it would be just a little bit more obvious and less convoluted. To prove this I’ll tie the dragons to the gods that would be similar to them.

Jormag takes control of his minions through a form of mind control, but his primary form of corruption is ice (not crystal) This would (in your theory) point to him being tied to both Lyssa (Mind Control) and Grenth (Ice)

Primordius is literally just in control of rock and fire, so he pretty much only correlates to Balthazar that we know of.

Zhaitan creates a mockery of life and death through his undead monstrosities, thus he would be the relate able to both Dwayna and Grenth/Dhuum.

Kralkatorrik corrupts nature by manipulating it, and if you don’t believe this just look at the dragonbrand. So Kralkatorrik would be related to Melandru, but only in an opposing fashion. None of the gods seem to fit into Kralkatorrik’s style otherwise.

The Deep Sea Dragon (Bubbles) is something we know nothing about. The only thing we know is he likes the oceans, and Abaddon/Lyssa being the gods of water are the only correlation we have there.

So you see, it’s a messy, sticky, convoluted mess. So if they really want to make the connection, there’s definitely some work to do there.
