This seems to be a good time and place to bring this up. Since being “dimmed” Balthy has chugged one supersized bloodstone with all the sides worth of magic – remember, it was full up after we disposed of Zhaitan and Mordremoth. He then followed it up with an amount equal to or greater than what Jormag and Primordus put together have consumed since awakening. When you consider what they are and how consuming magic is about their only hobby it starts to look like a lot of magic.

Yet Balthazar isn’t that bright even after all that. So does this imply that a god at full power would literally have one Tyria worth of magic or thereabouts? Since we know Abaddon was the big kitten in the having of magic department (he was supposed to be able to take on 3 of the others, iirc?) just how much kitten magic is in these guys? Who’d they nick it from, because I doubt they found it on the side of the road and just forgot to hand it over to the proper authorities.

My thought for that would be the kind of power that he’s absorbed. What causes mortals to go blind all the time are gods filled with divine power, which has been shown to be a different form of magic than what is natural or dragon magic.

Balthazar was ‘dimmed’ by whatever means that happened but the magic he has regained from the bloodstone/Jormag/Primordus is not divine magic. So that may be a likely reason why we still wouldn’t be blinded as if we were looking too long at a god at full power and less that he hasn’t regained enough power yet.

I would also like to note that he didn’t soak up all of the Bloodstone magic or all of Jormag and Primordus’ magic. Bloodstone fen is still a magical hotspot and the shards that were scattered all over and hoarded by the white mantle are still quite potent. And in the instance with the machine we can still see some of Jormag and Primordus’s magic being shot out past Balthazar. Based on dialogue I think I remember from the instance, Balthazar was more skimming some of the magic rather than soaking it all up. This is not to say that he won’t be incredibly powerful, but it is still possible that he is still a little less powerful than a full god.

What's gonna happen to Jormag's minions?

Not necessarily. Primordus being asleep didn’t make the Great Destroyer incapable. And as long as Jormag has been awake, we can assume that he has quite a few champions about that could be keeping his minions active. I mean, Zhaitan is dead, and yet with the new story we see that the Risen are still doing their thing 5 years later.

God for a Human Elementalist

Narcemus.1348

I was faced with this difficult choice as well where I had to pick one. After playing years of GW1, I was used to the fact that Elementalists revere all five equally (yes, five. This was way back in Prophecies). The five gods worked perfectly for Elementalists since the five attributes of Elementalists lined up well with the five gods.

Dwayna – Air Magic
Balthazar – Fire Magic
Grenth – Water Magic
Melandru – Earth Magic
Lyssa – Energy Storage

Ah good old days of GW1

And what about Kormir? I know, she was a “new god” in GW, and have no idea, how Elementalists viewed her.

No clue at all. In GW1, you could interact with the avatars of the gods and they would give you a blessing. For example, at Balthazar’s statue, the Champion of Balthazar would grant you a blessing called Disciple of Fire that would boost your Fire Magic attribute by 1. You could similarly boost Air at Dwayna, Energy Storage at Lyssa, etc. and the others at the statues of the other gods as I mentioned earlier. However, at the statue of Kormir, no such blessings were offered. So I really have no idea what the elementalists thought of her.

The problem here is, just as was said, there wasn’t any real time within the game for elementalists to be given an opinion on Kormir. Her ascension wasn’t until the last full game (Eye of the North being an expansion) and the only statue to her was within an outpost. I, personally, would chose the patron deity of my character based on my characters personality rather than the magic that they use. In this case, for your character, I would lean towards Kormir. She definitely fits the personality type of the knowledge seeking mage, and you could explain your other capabilities as learned through your staunch research and study, prompted by the teachings of Kormir. I would personally feel that an elementalist worshipper of Balthazar would be more interested in the challenge of combat, and testing their mettle rather than reading a book.

Sylvari an argument for the best race?

I will have to study and play more to see if in fact, it’s completely optional and willing on their part. Also, if their motivations intentionally capturing the dream, or a product of them tampering with the Silvari? Arg even typing this statement leads me to believe there is at least -some- connection between living Silvari and the dream.

The Nightmare Court definitely don’t give people a chance to choose Nightmare or Dream. There is no option once you have been kidnapped by the Nightmare Court. I think that what Konig is saying is that the Nightmare Court don’t desire for ALL sylvari to eventually be part of the Nightmare Court. Currently they know that they are in the Minority, so they are making as much noise as they can trying to destroy the “shackles” of the Ventari Tablet. This “noise” includes torture, murder, and forced coercion to the side of the Nightmare Court.

We do not know that anyone needs to take Balthazar’s domain, seeing as he was stripped of godhood, killing home may not be as fatal for Tyria as Abaddon would have been. I am still holding out hope that there is something else going on. That there is some twist about why Balthazar is doing what he is doing, but I’m not sure how long that hope can hold out. All I know is that if they had done this with Grenth, patron diety of all of my original characters, I would likely have quit playing out of anger.

Ulgoth summoned a couple pretty large elementals, but Baelfire went well past that point. Godhood aside, being able to manifest a massive elemental form that tosses out meteors and fireballs like candy is something we’ve not seen any other elementalist even get close to.

Still, you make a good point about resources, but I don’t think that’s something we can correct for. Would we think of Scarlet as at all impressive if she hadn’t been able to pull materials out of pure plot? Would Xera have made our lists without the bloodstones, or Livia without the Scepter? And are we sure that Jennah or Isgarren or Taimi don’t have unfair resources of their own?

Sadly, that route leads to infinite possibilities that cannot be proven. It would be like someone asking who the best fantasy writer is and having anothrt answer JRR Tolkien or
CS Lewis, only for them to be corrected because it was some impoverished child in Calcutta that could have revolutionised Fantasy for all time, but was refused the opportunity because he never got the education he needed. Sadly we can only use the information we were given.

Technically Gaheron’s been attempting rise to godhood for a while. We don’t actually know how long he had that “godform” of his, either. He’s no god, but he’s been pretending to be a god before the personal story as well (you can even find an NPC in the Black Citadel’s Trading Post room calling himself “Godslayer” or something because he aspires to kill Gaheron who calls himself a god).

Yes, but Gaheron was not killed until part way into the story, which is why I didn’t include him in the initial god-killing subject. I did talk about his attempted rise to godhood, but what I most meant was that his death did not occur until after the claim of killing their gods was made.

False charr history which states that they killed their own gods when humanity actually did that all.

Not entirely false. Pyre and his warband did kill a few titans themselves between Prophecies and Eye of the North, thus is why they’re imprisoned when we meet them. The “there are no gods” chant was the second start of a revolution by that warband, not the first. Of course, this happened after he personally witnessed some titans killed by “mere humans”.

There’s also the fact that Pyre and his warband aided in killing the “second set of gods” the Flame Legion tried to produce: the destroyers.

And then there’s Gaheron, who proclaimed godhood himself, killed by Rytlock and Logan and five ambiguous-race individuals.

To say the charr killed no false god is, quite simply, false in of itself.

Fair, some charr did kill their own gods. It wasn’t that they had nothing to do with it, but more that humanity did a vast majority of it. Between the Hell’s Precipice mission and the Titan quests humanity killed a vast majority of the Titan army, including the ones that the Charr followed into causing the Searing. Then years later, in Eye of the North, I would consider the events leading to the death of the Heirophant as at the least a 50/50 split between humanity and charr effort.

My whole point is that the Charr propaganda purposefully leaves out the fact that a vast majority (or even any) of their god killing was done by humans. Thus making it a false statement.

Additionally, I did not include Gaheron because of the fact that this statement was included in the beginning of the Charr personal story, and thus was made before Gaheron’s attempted rise to godhood.

Scorchrazor fought and defeated the Flame Legion with the backing of the other high legions long after humanity killed all of the Titans and the destroyers that they were worshipping. Humanity did the heavy lifting when it came to charr “god killing”.

I dunno, according to the stuff like the research panel in Rata Novum there were still “gods” way after your party in GW1 killed the titans there.

I’m not sure exactly what you are talking about. If it is the instructors, nothing that they say discredits my discussion. The humans were the only individuals who killed the Titans and the instructor doesn’t claim otherwise, and if you are talking about the one where Pyre Fierceshot claims that “Charr god’s are dead!” after killing the destroyers, well there may have been some charr there, but they were honestly outnumbered by humans. So it couldn’t be considered as anything less than a joint effort and definitely in neither case was it just charr killing their own gods. That is just plain propaganda. Now if the Flame Legion came up with more random god’s afterwords, that wouldn’t surprise me, but that is unmentioned to my knowledge.

What happens to dragons when they die?

in Lore

Posted by: Narcemus.1348

Narcemus.1348

I don’t think the Elder Dragons die at all since they are on a cycle of rising again and again after many thousands of years. Dying would mean that they are permanently dead and would never rise again. I think whenever anyone says that an Elder Dragon is dead, what they really mean is that they’ve gone back to whatever state they were in prior to waking up.

True and False
The Elder Dragon, at least is the theory being raised now, must exist. I plot similarly seen in Pirates of the Carribean “The Ship Must Have A Captain”.
As it stands, the popular theory is that the elder dragons play a vital role in the engine of the Eternal Alchemy, and that by killing the ED the engine stops spurring. That doesn’t mean it’s destroyed. The magic dissipates and does other stuff elsewhere. So it’s my belief that the ego Zhaitan and Mordremoth are dead, but the conceptual Elder Dragon still exists, and will rise again in one form or another, because the world demands it to exist.

I mean, that’s my theory, it’s not a fact. But I do strongly belief that the ego of Zhaitan and Mordremoth is truly dead.

Does that mean the next time Zhaitan or Mordremoth rise, will they remember their previous rising? Will they even have the same domains of magic? Or are you saying that the Elder Dragon will now contain a new ego or identity and may possibly be masters of other domains of magic with no recollection of their last rising.

no, as I said, the ego is dead. The ego will not come back. A new entity may (or in my theory, must) rise to become the NEW elder dragon. They will have the same domains, although the domains are slowly being corrupted by one another now. But I think equilibrium will restore the domains over time. But whoever, or whatever takes up these roles with be a completely seperate entity from Zhaitan and Mordremoth

Such as hopefully benevolent entities like maybe the Pale Tree or Aurene.

Lazarus giving Aurene as an egg to the master of peace, or defending Aurene from destroyers, is not only non-beneficial to Kralkatorrik, but harmful to Kralkatorrik.

Actually, since it was destroyers attacking Aurene it might have been in Kralkatorrik’s best interest of only to make sure that Primordus doesn’t get get her magic, or her as a minion. Not that I back this theory, just playing devil’s advocate.

While we’re at it, why don’t we burn all the sylvari who are merely mordrem servants who have yet to go bad? Oh, wait, they seem to be better now that we’ve killed Mordremoth.

Other flaws in this statement:

  • Was she really draining the life out of Trahearne? Would she have willingly killed one of her Firstborn just to rejuvenate herself? Also, it’s been over a year since her death and yet she continues to improve.
  • The Avatar is merely a projection, not a separate entity. The other races were uncomfortable that the Pale Tree didn’t have a face, so she created the Avatar to more easily speak with the other races. Possessing the Commander would mean killing the entire Grove. Unless you’re talking about killing the Commander by leeching its power, in which case, I’m pretty sure Necromancers can block that kind of drain.
  • What if my Commander never killed Mordremoth, hmm? Did the Pale Tree consider that in her plan?

Besides, it’s probably the easiest ascended weapon to get at the moment. I think the reward is worth whatever price you might be suggesting.

If your commander didn’t kill Mordremoth he couldn’t reforge Caladbolg…

It could be that the creation of the Bloodstone required blood to be created, which is why it required blood to re-seal when it came to Doric.

We know it doesn’t require blood to maintain the bloodstones, the power just came directly from the souls and magic, as in GW1 they just sucked the life out of the people.
But indeed, maybe controlling or making the stone requires blood.

Yes, I know that maintenance of the Bloodstone does not require blood. My statement was merely on the creation, as you said. We do not know how the first Bloodstone was created, but we do know that Doric’s blood was required to re-seal the magic within when the Bloodstone was [anti- kitten] shattered.

In do want to state, though, that the Bloodstone did not suck life out of people. They merely trap the souls of those killed in a close proximity to them. There was no active process of draining people of their lives.

All magic is dragon magic

in Lore

Narcemus.1348

@Narcemus and Aaaron

If you read Konig’s remarks he answers this.

1. Corruption is caused by direct influence. The magic of the blade wills corruption like a minion. The tooth, Kralk’s blood, the thaumanova reactor, etc, cannot infuse corruption.

2. When Elder Dragons sleep they exude uncorrupted magic. The “raw power” the Asuras drew from Primordius, regardless of which domain it was, isn’t corrupted.

I think that the main reason that Aaron asked the second question was because in my theory that would not be the case. And dragons would exude their corrupted magic. Since my theory changed that idea, he was curious how I would then deal with that scenario, to which I didn’t have the greatest answer.

Narcemus.1348

Good points, and I’m not 100% sure I have an answer for you. Though I could try to make up one on the spot and see if it holds any weight. There is the possibility that the corruption of living beings and environments requires the use of Dragon magic in a certain way. Similar to how different forms of magic can create different effects when used a certain way. The weakness in this idea lies in the question, “if this is the case, why does magic need cleansed?” My only thought is that people have been using death, ice, fire and so on, magic against each other for years and placing curses on each other without ever once creating a minion from them. Similarly we have seen elementals made out of magic that are not tied to the will of a Dragon. This tells me that the natural magic must be cleansed from the corruption, otherwise you would think someone would have corrupted themselves or something else accidentally at some point in time. This idea holds some traction for me because of some situations in game that almost seem contradictory. Such as Kralkatorrik’s blood and Jormag’s tooth being non corruptive in nature, but a blade made from Jormag’s blood does cause corruption. It might have been a special use of Dragon magic that got imbued into the Sanguinary Blade that gave it the power to corrupt. But like any theory I’m sure it has some weaknesses.

All magic is dragon magic

@ narcemus

I do have some questions.

What do you mean by cleansed?

  • i.e if I take equal amounts of Jormag’s and Primordius’ corrupted magic and mix them together what happens?
  • how are properties of the product different from just adding fire and ice magic together.

As I said, this is merely a theory, but we have very little understanding of things so far, so many things could need changes in the coming months. I feel like the next two living stories might need to have a lot more exposition on how magic works for Taimi to enact her plan. That said, here is my thought.

You have ley magic. Ley magic has a spectrum to it. This spectrum has to do with the different magics we see, plant, death, fire, ice, water, mind, shadow, etc… Elder dragons consume this magic, but for whatever reason they can only corrupt magic within their domains. So Mordremoth could only corrupt plant and mind magic, Zhaitan death and shadow, etc, etc… All of the other magic flows back into the ley network. Then, through whatever series of events, if an Elder Dragon sleeps, or exudes their magic for whatever reason the Dragon magic, like all magic, eventually enters the ley network. I think of this as similar to waste water that gets dumped eventually working it’s way to a river or stream.

Then we get to the reason that all magic isn’t entirely Dragon magic. I mean we have many cycles of this happening, so what happens that makes it so the magic in the world doesn’t corrupt individuals that use it. In this situation we are told that certain Dragon magic opposes other Dragon magic. My theory is that it isn’t a situation of magic cancelling out magic, but more a situation of the corruption cancelling out the corruption. But it is specific, it has to be the corruption of ice magic that gets negated when mingled with the corruption of fire magic. The magic itself is unharmed, it is merely whatever is done to the magic that causes it to become corrupted that gets removed. I would say that this is why Primordus moved to collect Zhaitan’s magic, this is possibly the only way that he can imbue his minions with that extra boost. I am somewhat confused, then, by why Mordremoth would use Death Magic, like Taimi speculated, but it could be possible that they could channel the magic in such a way through their minions so that it doesn’t interact with the opposing magic. No matter what, though, this is something that ArenaNet needs to explain.

All magic is dragon magic

Narcemus.1348

@ Narcemus,
I understand you replies, and mostly agree, with your replies to 1-2. But let me rephrase part of 3.

1: Dragons create their opposing element

According to your theory:

  • when the dragons are finding what to eat, they remove their domains from a source, then they discard the rest.
  • dragon ice + dragon fire = cleansed ice and fire
  • e.g Jormag eating pure magic would discard 4 sets of cleansed domains, 2 pure unpaired domains + whatever non-dragon domains were left

Unless the opposing domains are random, which they do no appear to be, cleansed sets will oppose each other during materialization.

  • and if all parts of the discarded magic are equally active
  • and the original source was the full spectrum
  • then only the opposing domains of the dragon that discarded it will manifest
  • i.e dragons create their opposing element (to a degree),

2: no dragons = no magic

  • magic cannot be created or destroy, it only changes form
  • what if the uncorrupted domains the ED passively extrude are the only source of that domain?
  • e.g all necromancer death magic is cast using Zhaitans poop, mortals cannot make it themselves.

I think I understand your stance on the second part better, but even with that stance I slightly disagree, although with all of this discussion there is a high level of speculation going on. On my opinion, ley magic, in and of itself and without Dragon manipulation, has a spectrum. I personally believe that it resembles the spectrum of Dragon magic, in fact, I believe that the spectrum of Dragon magic is, itself, modeled after the spectrum of ley magic. This is why I do not believe that when, say, Jormag consumes pure ley magic and discards all that is not his domain, that he creates fire magic. I believe that he merely filters out and keeps what is his while allowing the rest to flow on through. This would be similar to, as you said, the chak organ. It doesn’t create plant magic while filtering out death magic, it merely just removes one spectrum from the rest. This said, Jormag only keeps and corrupts ice magic (and whatever his second spectrum is) while allowing the rest to dissipate into the world. This all said, I don’t believe that there is and hard evidence at all between my opinion and your opinion of how this works, so, in all reality this discussion is a moot point until we learn more. So for now I will back off, unless there are more questions about the specifics of my theory.

See responses inside of quote.

@Narcemus

Your theory has interesting implications, part, some, all, or none of which are accurate (I haven’t checked the lore, but lets pretend its fact):

If Dragons sorted domains out of food for millennia:

1. then there should be a noticeable amount of magic missing specifically that domain

  • e.g the ice, fire, vegetation, water, and crystal areas from the thaumanova reactor are all from Zhaitan’s table scraps. The magic it discarded after absorbing death/shadow.

- I don’t believe that this is necessarily true. For one, there is a massive surplus of magic in the world, even before the death of Zhaitan and Mordremoth. On top of this, the Elder dragons move on a pretty slow pace, if it is to be believed that their cycle of sleep and awakening takes roughly 10,000 years, and on that scale, they all awoke pretty close to each other. So it can be expected that they have been taking out magic at a roughly equal pace. That said, nothing says that all leylines hold equal amounts of all magical, we have seen different colors of leylines throughout.

2. the leylines quickly absorb discarded dragon magic so the discards aren’t noticed.

  • not all ley magic is a complete spectrum.
  • your cleansed corruption flows to the confluences, where at least 6 sets of opposing domains combine to form pure magic.

- Also not entirely true. We know that some Dragon magic exists in the world and can be tapped into, I feel like this might have been shown in Thaumanova. So some Dragon magic might be floating free in the world, when and how it actually causes corruption is unknown.

3a. Dragons create their opposing element

  • like green and magenta, if these domains are inverses they don’t exist simultaneously.
  • e.g fire magic is defined by the absence of ice magic and vice versa. And if Jormag were to eat Primordius’ cleansed magic it would discard pure fire magic

- Again, I feel like there is a difference between ley magic and Dragon magic. Something that the ED’s do that changes or twists it. So what Jormag would dispel isn’t fire Dragon magic, but instead every other type of ley magic, keeping in mind that he would also consume death magic, mind magic, shadow, etc… these would also be dispelled as well (assuming ley magic and Dragon magic have similar spectrums)

3b. the magic isn’t noticeable or immediately absorbed by the leyline, instead it is the magic we all use. (all magic is dragon magic)

  • we know there are at least 6 sets of opposing domains
  • Substance A could have 5/6 sets, with one unpaired domain, and is not really corruptive.
  • Substance B could have 0 sets, and one unpaired domain, and is very corruptive.
  • i.e the magic dragons retain becomes corruption and the magic they remove one domain from is in the bloodstones.

- I would say that from my position it would be that all Dragon magic is Ley magic, but not all let magic is the twisted/corrupted Dragon magic.

3c. no dragons = no magic.

  • Do all beings have chak organs?
  • what if without the dragons there would only be chaos magic?
  • so far the stuff we have cast with ley line magic does not resemble the schools.

- I wouldn’t agree with this last one at all. I feel like ley magic is something that exists naturally in Tyria and is consumed and twisted by the dragons. This would mean that before and after the dragons there would always be magic in Tyria. They just manipulate what exists within the world.

raid answer from dev

I find myself somewhat torn in all of this. I personally really want to have the opportunity to enjoy the content that we have in the raid, which isn’t really possible having only really 5- 6 good friends in game. But at the same time I can understand the desire to not have manpower taken away from the team, requiring it to take longer to create new raids. I know that the point of this is to convince devs to change, or not change, the way that they are doing things, but this will honestly not help the situation at hand now. Maybe months from now, but by then the Lore and story available in Bastion of the Penetent will be available anywhere, there will be no more sense of discovery.

My thought is that we need to find a good raiding guild that would team up with the Lore guild to help teach and guide us through these raids. This way we can get an opportunity to experience these locations before their lore and story become obsolete. Guild Wars has been claimed to have one of the greatest game communities out there, I have to hope that there would be a raiding guild or two out there willing to help.

Mind you, Narcemus’ idea is an interesting one – that when energies of opposing dragons interact, they cleanse one another. This could be how Caladbolg was able to cleanse Zhaitan’s corruption from the Source of Orr.

I was just thinking that last night as I was playing through the new current events. Though that would assume that Caladbolg has access to the Plant Dragon Magic, which is an unknown.

IF I understand the vision in Omadd’s machine correctly, the dragon’s spheres of influence are part of the eternal alchemy. I interpet as meaning the dragons have been here from the beginning of Tyria, absorbing and then releasing magic. If that’s the case, unless new magic is being created, then all magic should be contaminated with dragon magic. The only other way for non dragon magic to exist is that something is cleansing magic from dragon corruption. Where is new magic being created, or what is cleansing magic.

Your post made me think, what if what you said and Taimi’s theory go hand in hand. While we know that Elder Dragons have specific spheres of magic, it is unknown why they cannot feed from the magic of other spheres unless the Dragon that maintained it is dead. It could be that some ancient magical law forces them to adhere to only wherr they have domain, or if it is merely to keep some sort of diplomacy and not start a war. But it could make sense that basically there are two main types of Tyrian magic. Ley magic and Dragon magic. They both coexist with Elder Dragon magic being a twisted form of ley magic. Basically, that the Elder Dragon consumes the full color spectrum of magic, but something (whether intentional or not) forces them to only retain the magic of their domain and release the rest.

Then, the magic that they retain gets twisted within them and becomes what we call Dragon magic. This Dragon magic then, for another unknown reason, gets exuded from their bodies while they rest, and even possibly to a degree while they are active. This exuded magic is still Dragon Magikittenil it, in nature, interacts with it’s opposed domain and it’s corruption is negates eventually leading it to reenter the flow of ley magic as put cleansed magic. I am intrigued, because if this theory is correct, then we could possibly take Steve’s magic (assuming it opposes Kralkatorrik’s magic) and cleanse the Brand!

I don’t think that the whole situation laid out is entirely necessary. Not only is it never shown that a soul can enter Tyria and regain it’s physical form, an especially hard situation when you include Sylvari PC’s that are never shown to even have souls, but it was explicitly stated that going into the mists isn’t necessary to learn the skills. It is merely that the Mists is where Rytlock discovered it. A story should be included, but this one has too many possible contradictions involved in it.

I didn’t get that feeling from Ceera, the asura who you have to tell about her Husband’s death in the Zhaitan campaign. She holds a grudge against you even still in Heart of Thorns. Seems more like love to me.

In Guild Wars 2 it isn’t required for your character to be related to anyone from the past, this leaves you open to create whatever kind of back story you want based on your character choices. Like how my human noble is related to my main Guild Wars character and my Sylvari was inspired by his actions through the dream.

The monk, for the most part, seems to have morphed, along with other professions, into the Guardian. There is still a lot of questions with how this happened, but magic has changed a lot over the past few centuries, and there is more ambient magic than Bloodstone magic in the world, this allowed things to change.

The reason that the gods left is generally understood as that they were basically acting as parents to Humanity, and trying to remove themselves to let humanity learn to walk with their own two feet. Especially when they saw the damage that their war against Abaddon caused.

I thought you preferred frogs?

Well, I have a lot of things I love: Cats, Frogs, Bats, Owls… I am fond of a lot of creatures. Frogs hold a special place in my heart, it’s true. <3

Dogs are lovable beyond all else! Give in, and give us the Dogs! Cat’s are nothing!

I definitely agree. I have a big feeling like Taimi’s plan is going to be the “Scarlet’s Breachmaker” event that begins the next expansion. Not sure exactly how, perhaps losing 2 more dragons leads to a huge amount of magic that the world wasn’t prepared for, or if it only just kittenes them off. Or nothing works and something completely unexpected occurs. Perhaps the magic all gets channeled into fake-Lazarus?

I don’t know if this has been said before, or not, but why just have cats that you can add to your home instance? That only really feeds into one group of people, cat people. I personally wouldn’t spend even 1 copper to get these cats in my home instance, but if I were given the opportunity to add puppies, or full grown dogs to my home instance I would blow through whatever gold it took! Please?!

I was honestly genuinely surprised by some of the things that came from this story. I thoroughly enjoyed some of the dialogue, story, and location. There were some things that threw me off (like Anise’s personality) but in general I enjoyed it all. I’m looking forward to where things go from here!

You know, if the Anise is Livia theory holds any weight, then it would make sense for her to become this monstrous after seeing her nation torn apart by civil war again by the same monsters that hunted her counterparts all those centuries ago.

I don’t know, with all of his a jungle experience, Lord Faren might be a better dueling ????

Given his “jungle experience”, I think Faren would become better at skirmishing, but not dueling.

By dueling, I at least am referring to the formal 1 on 1 fight on flat ground with fairplay. The stuff of nobility in medieval times – something that just would never work in a real battle – either wartime or against bandits, criminals, etc.

Then again, Faren’s title of being the best student of Bongo the once-not-One-Eyed was bought by his parents because Faren was just that bad at dueling so it’s a given Caudecus would be better than Faren – any noble would be.

I apologize. I had thought I put an emote on there to show that I was joking, but apparently that didn’t occur. This was not a serious statement, I take nothing about Faren seriously.
