This is my stat spread for my power life blast build, I hit about 20% less then a full zerker but with might and protection in spades it doesn’t matter.

RS has stab, I found I needed far less stunbreaks on a reaper, and I was cced less, I would say that the crit chance increase is more valuable as far as reaper is concerned.
Now if you just are one of those people who just builds for just all defense or something like that I wouldn’t understand taking it… but it just seems like overkill.

Not that we really know if the attack speed is actually worth taking over it since most of us haven’t been able to use it yet.
The ele is most likely diamond skin, and a good diamond skin ele will destroy a condi transfer necro.
Blinds do not stop necro transfers. Please will everyone stop spreading this false information.
As far as minion condi transfer… I wouldn’t call them king…. it works for a few seconds but the minions die to fast and once they’re dead which happens pretty quickly with all the aoe you are screwed

You sure leeching bolts doesn’t heal through shroud? When I was playing reaper over the weekend I could have sworn it was healing
I think we can safely assume Necro Cele is the best at killing Cele ele while not losing the point in 5 secs. Even Noscoc feels confident 1v1ing top tier eles. The problem is that once the enemy team +1 the ele, the necro has NO chance of escape, unlike the ele who could easily escape.
Just make Dark Path a ground-target and the problem is solved.
There’s also flesh wurm which can help a disengage, but in cele signets, you have to run it over spectral armor, which is a very tough choice to make, but potentially more powerful if you take the time to master it.
I wouldn’t use flesh worm unless it’s temple or khylo.
Proving your prowess against a in-Fighter called D/D elementalist on 1v1 scenario is a no go. As a thief I don’t have a problem against burning condition stack (including teamfights) as long as my opponent is a human.
I do not know who the hell thief you guys are talking about and what his thief spec is, but if you got bursted and get more than 10stack of burning in a matter of second (including signet of fire) then I am afraid to say that, you are facing a non-human elementalist or who knows maybe he has more buttons to press than us.
A human is perfectly capable of hitting buttons AS FAST as the game allows….. and the bots I’ve fought in this game have been god awful.
Since they nerfed the chill that was supposed to help keep reaper in range…. they should increase the range of some of the gs and maybe even rs attacks.
I stream sometimes, but I’d be more of like a watch me to learn wat never to kittening do.
I swear to the flying spaghetti monster sometimes when i read the posts some people make about skills and balance I feel like I must be playing an entirely different class, in and entirely different game, in an entirely different world, in an entirely different galaxy, in an entirely different universe.
You would keep everything the same, just add on something to decrease the percentage, could even just decrease the percentage used by 50%.
Or make taking vital persistence have an effect on the ds cost of utilities.
Actually maybe just make it so when you use a utility in DS it uses a percentage of DS. Allowing utility in ds while making you think twice before always using your utilities in DS. This would still allow us to stunbreak and heal but at an extra cost.
Of anyone is suggesting this without nerfs, cele necro would be so oP
I’m not sure if it means anything, but as far as AG tourney level cele necro performs extremely well especially agaisnt DD eles, the 2nd place team sassy squad kept sending their ele at me on the semifinals game I think his name was Bearly Serious.. But it didn’t go well I was able to beat any 1v1 that came to home. We lost but still.
Why do people complain about Ele if there are also a lot of people in this thread saying a bunch of build can win over Ele?
I feel like there are two classes of players: the ones who walk in and out of Ring of Fire multiple times, and the ones who don’t.
i walk in and out as many times as i can.
I remember it when blind stopped transfers it was a little bit after the ds cd nerf
So you just want necros transfers nerfed into absolute oblivion right?
Just tested this again….. still transfering blinds….. if it didn’t transfer the blind nothing should transfer…..
@sephiroth there seems to be some confusion I believe this topic op stated he was concerned with Necro transfers not Mesmer transfer, although thank you for the info on arcane thievery.

Wouldn’t be OP considering every other class can swap weapons while using their class mechanic. And its not like we get to swap weapons anywhere near as fast as some of the other classes.

I’ve never been kicked by a pug group for being a necro, I haven’t pved in a year but it didn’t happen then.
I’m confused…. so they buffed the kitten out of mantras….. making them better than what they should have been due to being able to recast the mantra as soon as you burn the last charge…. so anet fixed the bug, what the problem is?
I’m sure people will still use some mantras,
theif is faster, it can +1 fights faster and decap faster, and alot of the time you have no clue it’s coming.
Mesmer is similar but not as mobile
A class that has combat capability but is delegated to “do not fight unless you are helping X fight” is a failure of a class in a game that purports to not shoehorn classes into roles.
Thieves are tantamount to stereotypical healers, minus being able to actually heal.

So what before the patch necro was that way for a long time.
Theives are still on the top teams even though it’s “stupid” Because they are the best +1ers, the most mobile class, and in the hands of a skilled player can still probably beat every class every build this game has to offer.
Also it’s not just combat mobility for theives.
Necros were not noncombat classes. They shone to the point of needing to get focused in 1vxs, sure, but they were perfectly capable of holding points, decapping, and 1v1s, especially with Lich being a thing.
And a thief being able to do okay in the hands of a skilled player is a given. The problem that needs to be addressed is the comparative effort required to be borderline effective with a thief vs other classes.
Best +1er is an empty trophy title too, because any +1 leads to loss on the outnumbered if the +1ing player is not incompetent.
And they are the most mobile -only- if they carry shortbow. Which essentially means that to even play baseline effective (including noncombat decapping and +1s that anyone can do anyway) they have to play a specific weapon set.
What the hell are you talking about non combat classes and combat classes…. Necro being able to 1vx before june?

As a theif you probably just shouldn’t say anything, Sure YOU can pretty much always avoid an attack if you don’t want that attack to hit. Some of the other classes don’t have as much access to escapes or a high number of dodges.
That being said I haven’t been one shot by a engi since they nerfed barrage. Although as far as I know I was able to make an engi build that can sorta one shot people but you’d need to have your target immobilized for a while or to be completely brain dead.

I was the elementalist on the other team and I have no idea how any of you would get offended by that. I am very familiar with the team we fought and am friends with most of them. It was literally playful banter. There was no harmful intention behind it. This hasn’t been the first time those words have been used in Guild Wars 2 and won’t be the last. If you have children watching COMPETITIVE tournaments, then that’s at your hands, not the players. I am not limiting my language because of a couple kids watching. It is the Internet, nothing is censored. You should be the smart one to figure that out.

We tried 4 mm one mesmer in the AG tourney after the team that went to the finals or won wrecked us 1st game second rd. (Sassy skwad) it was definitely a better game but kind of Lord kill double juked us. we were an fa ream and my teammates didn’t really play necro l.
I happen to like WoB traited for my heal, then again I’m running a wells/signet cele necro. you can even trait for corruptions and have 2 traited corruptions, 2 traited wells, and 3 traited signets.
I do wish they would fix WoB a little to boost the pulsing heal so it was at least close to the old WoBs total healing but it will never happen now with protection on the well

This is a great idea, instead of MoC giving an extra condi have it give like 2 seconds of resistance, although it would certainly cement cc as the only necro heal again.
Man they really don’t want us to have a heal skill…. why don’t they just do it already…. remove our heal skill.

Axe is only worse compared to scepter due to scepter being the only real condi option.

I’m not sure they do anymore: I think their changing it to a random priority broke it somehow. I need to test to confirm (if someone wants to jump into an empty custom arena and cast signet of spite at me a few times let me know), but I’ve had a lot of transfers simply not work without getting a “blocked”, “obstructed”, or “evaded” message. They just simply don’t work. This happens more often with Plague Sig than with deathly swarm and putrid mark, but it has happened with those too. The only explanation I can think of is that the transfer is prioritising conditions other than the blind, and the blind is causing it to miss.
Not sure about what happens with more condis than the transfer sends but with blind and the right amount of transfers or lower it still works.
You guys seriously need to stop crying. These nerfs aren’t a huge deal at all. No one seriously uses the focus in pvp, so spinal shivers is irrelevant. Unholy Martyr was similarly bad for the RNG factor. You could get sustain if you pulled weak condis to you, but you could get kittened over if you pulled 12 stacks of burning or immobilize. The change to chilling darkness makes it salvageable again with skulls like nightfall in the future.
And corruptions , we’re you really going to send that self blind from MoC CC to you opener when the blind stops staff/dagger 4 from working?
Maybe if you guys stopped crying on the forums all the time you’d see that necromancers aren’t all that bad. I’ve been seeing cele necros in tournaments at many different levels all the time these days, and those teams tend to be very succesful. They’re much more common than rangers and engineers in tournaments right now.
And the pve complaints are so hollow considering that most of you will never attempt to do a speedrun.
Anyway I’m sorry for being harsh, but these nerfs are irrelevant overall and nothing to be sad over.

I think you’d be better of if you swapped to carrion and picked up dp or fitg. Pure condi Necros have to many hard counters right now
Fun fact, way back in the day But of Corpse had very tentative plans to talk with a balance dev about Necromancer on a show, since back then Chaplan (I believe is the correct name) used to watch the show (this was back with Gibbly and Tenderly), but it never happened because they wouldn’t do it unless every profession would be represented.
But yeah, it will never happen. They wouldn’t do it unless it was on their terms, and their terms would end up giving us a type of show we simply wouldn’t be happy with. Its a lose-lose situation for them, there is no way they could give us what we want, so its better to not do it.
This is a bullkitten excuse and you know it. Guess what: Most devs of online games actually give a kitten and actually read their forums and skim through the suggestions, and in general listen to their godkitten community. Anet completely ignores everything that isn’t the next thing to give them money (like giving Revenant weapon swap). They released the trait previews, didn’T gather any kind of feedback, and proceeded to make some 180 turns on those traits and turned them into crap. And after that they again didn’t gather feedback on how it turned out but completely ignored everything. Just the mere fact that not a single fev/balance team member plays Necro should a a big, fat, red alert sign smashing them in the face, because how can you balance something you have 0 clue of? The one RESPONSIBLE for Necro and Mesmer only plays Mesmer, how the hell is he EVER going to have an actual understanding of what our prblems are, IF HE AND THE REST REFUSE TO ACTUALLY LISTEN TO FEEDBACK.

It’s not bullkitten. This is a business.
It takes a little while to get used to pvp and your class, I’m not surprised your getting burned down. Pick a class and stick with it. Warriors can be pretty tanky, necros can be as well those should be the easiest two for you right now.
Eles and Guards and probably a little tankier than those but they are more difficult to play.
Rangers can be kind of tanky but they aren’t at effective
I don’t really know what engineers should be doing atm, I think they are either condi burn or still cele, neither is easy for a new player.
Theives and mesmers can actually be crazy tank just in their damage avoidance abilities and utilities and still be able to burst people down quickly.
Plague counters rampage and lich and other things hard, mesmers and engis have to ruin all the fun
I love the passive signets
The only wells that should do direct damage are wos and woc
