I also didn’t have much trouble landing it…. but I think with alot of people the animation is bigger than the actual range? There were a few occasions where I thought I was in range for it and missed.
As I run a build that clears condi’s, even that can’t stand a Reaper’s shroud skills, my characters just are no match to the pure damage a reaper is doing and I find the reaper being just a little bit too much over powered.
the conditions are minor dmg. or no dmg at all(fear and chilled. though chilled does minor dmg)
reaper’s dmg is also low and short range. until you go shroud and use that 50% crit chance while in shroud(which ISN’T a reaper trait. its a necro trait)
The best reaper build I had found didn’t even use SR. Reaper damage isn’t low, it is short range though. Greatsword hits hard as hell. I used spite,curses,reaper with decimate defenses zerker amulet and fury I am always critting. You can crit almost all the time with celestial as well and honestly I still had some 9k grave diggers with cele amulet but Zerker was the most fun to play. If you go zerker and take CtD, CoD, Chilling Nova, decimate defenses. Grab a hydromancy and a fire sigil on gs. The results are quite satisfying when it happens.
I get hit for 5k even one skill that just insta kills.
I was landing my gs skills pretty easily…. gs5 and gs 4 let you land gs2 and gs3 as does rs3 and rs5. Warhorn 4 and dagger 3 also help and you can use the new elite shout to land then as well.
Some nice synergy between death spiral and vamp signet. If you have locust swarm and hit vamp signet and death spiral the healing and lf gain is insane.
I want my greatsword back now. Literally the most powerful and game changing I’ve ever felt in a fight. Nothing better than dropping wos on a downed being ressed and watching grave digger proc fire sigil, chilling nova, and spinal shivers on the group trying to res and watching them all die lol.

It’s not one shotting, it’s 3 shotting. Considering how hard the combo is to land… and the only way I’ve been able to do it is with hydromancy/fire sigil, rune of ice, chilling nova or whatever the reaper adept trait is. Honestly I did it to a zerker war yesterday against a team that was a full premade against pugs… decent team too I’ve seen them before and we almost won. At one point u managed to drop a warrior in like 3 seconds. And he was just like whale then. In the same game though I got wtfpwned by an ele and a daredevil. Condis seem to work just fine against a reaper as long as they didn’t take curses.. even with death magic condis still kill me… and anything that can kite should beat a reaper almost all the time especially if they go full Yolo melee.

I’m hitting for like 10k grave diggers with zerker amulet. People are still having some trouble seeing the animation for it and if your a tiny asura in the middle of all the sparkles it’s even harder.
Rs5 is a stun rs3 is instant and the 2nd part of it is a fear rs2 is a leap. And it’s 5 skills if you even need gs2.
Plenty of classes have kitten combos that are very quick. The only hard part about this combo is landing rs5.
Have you even tried reaper? Or did you just chime in without any knowledge.
Lol make a reaper use spite, blood, reaper. Hydromancy sigil and fire sigil on gs, hydromancy energy on whatever other weapon you choose. Use ice runes and trait for every passive damage trait. Rs5 rs3 rs2 rs3 switch to gs and press 2. Ded. If all the passives proc they might be Ded before gs2 or you can use rs4.
Probably got hit with grave digger from a zerk/marauder necro or DS 5 from a valk/zerk/marauder necro.
I’m not having these issues at all with untargeted charge…. only thing I’ve noticed is I seem to be stuck for a split second after I use the charge. I will say this if you have a target then deselect target and quickly use rs 2 sometimes it will still go towards the previous target… maybe that’s what your all experiencing
I’ve fought about a dozen DD’s so far in WvW, and this is how the fights went:
Evade, Evade, Evade,Evade, land a single poison-poison immediately cleared, Evade, Evade, ect ect. Needless to say I barely landed a single hit and certainly was not able to generate life force. Thankfully the part I was worried about the most (being interrupted and shut down) never came to play. I guess thieves just enjoy dat spam too much to put any skilled thought behind fighting. When going against them as Reaper, I was dead in seconds. No LF generation, RS melted almost as soon as I put it up. When going core necro I managed to stay up a little longer because I could juke them with some ranged attacks. All over-dramatizing aside I did manage to land a fear or chill or two but that was honestly it. This is going to be a real problem unless we can figure out better counters for them or those endless evades get brought into check.
As the reaper currently I own anything that’s not a theif,ranger, mesmer. And I can still beat the mesmers and rangers but they just run all the time. Can’t catch em at all.
You can be a super tank on point but once you start getting kited your useless and dead.
Also I cant beleive we haven’t heard anyone call for dhuumfire reaper nerfs yet.
I’d rather keep my unblockable aoe daze.
The only problem with Warhorn 4 is that it barely does anything to bosses thanks to Defiant. Other than that, it’s pretty strong. You’re right that it doesn’t help condi builds very much, but the Warhorn isn’t really a condi weapon in the first place.
I think warhorn can be more universal weapon for power and condi builds too.
It can, but this is really a testament to how weak our condi weapons are.
Our condi WEAPON not weapons. We have one condi weapon. I wouldn’t call dagger a condi only weapon as its transfer depends on the opponents condi damage so their no benefit to having condi stats when using dagger.
wail o doom let’s me actually get a heal off on my necro occasionally.
I get a lot of fails <300 on almost flat surfaces. Is the tool tip wrong or are conditions not right?
Could be strange bugs? I’m not sure, I’ve used it to pull people quite a ways (example being pulling people from point up to the high area on Foefire’s middle point) including height changes. It might be WvW’s awful map coding, if I were to just throw something out there to blame.
I don’t play wvw at all and I’ve tried using it instead of wells, I was also experiencing issues with it occasionally. Nothing crazy but kind of annoying since I still kept mercy runes and the res trait.
I agree remove the celestial SIGNET! Leave the amulet though.
Cmon celestial necro isn’t op. The build Nos popularized isn’t all that tanky…. There are tanky variants but you sacrifice either a ton of crit chance and lf or you sacrifice weakness uptime, boon corrupts/or terror, and your auto condi transfer.
This is the most balanced I’ve seen Necromancers EVER in this game. There is only heavy condi pressure against heavy condi builds

You can use a rabid amulet for example as it covers ur condi pressure, crit chance and tanky statement you said.
Sacrificing all your power, vitality, ferocity, hp. Basically makes the might from cele signets useless.

I dunno if I could ever justify taking lich over plague without marauders, assasin or berserkers.
VP is not flavor of the month it’s been used by pvp necros for a long time. Spectrals were our bruiser option before the patch. With the buff to BM and signets they are no longer optimal for bruiser builds or even sustain builds. They are severely outclassed now. VP doesn’t need to be baseline, spectral mastery needs a huge buff to be worth it over any of our new abilities. I DO THINK there may be some uses for it with reaper but I didn’t test out a spectral reaper last bwe. I will next time around.

Oh I see sustain builds =/ skill
Where random one or two shotting with passive procs = skill.

Necros don’t really have the option to build for sustain and damage, unless they can use cele amulet. I think they may have gone a little to far with the amulet bans. Should be different for every class.
I’m garunteeing a Valk amulet build with the cele signet build traits probably wins this.
Inb4 Valk gets banned too!
I don’t really see why any of those amulets are banned. Soldier and Celestial are used often by necros and are part of our strongest builds. Seems a bit silly
Edit: And Cleric’s as well. So you rule out Power, Signet, and Minion Necro builds… Why not just let necros be necros?

No, don’t nerf weakness it’s difficult to apply and not many classes have easy application to it. Being able to infinite dodge was horrible, if we had as much condi damage as we do now along with infinite dodges again…. no screw that. No.

Hey, I’m looking for 4 pvp necros with a decent amount of pvp experience that would be interested in doing Mondays AG tourney. Before you jump up be warned we are going to be running some weird builds and that’s the point and it may seem like I’m trying to be controlling…. sort of but it’s in an attempt to win and I’d all 5 of our builds synergies it will make the games much more fun and much smoother.

I can hit jump and v at the same time quite easily, started off just doing it for fun now it’s like a reflex.
Well your only melee minions are bm and fg you are gonna want to blow up the bm’s almost right away, So only you and the fg should really end up in the aoe most of the time. You can swap out bone fiend with Wurm for an escape or just anytime khylo or temple pop.
Hardest for me are engis and mesmers everything else dies or can’t kill me or get me off point.

Using it again today, played correctly this hp regen is insane and a build like this is why full healing in ds could never be allowed.
Well I dunno I actually found a few extremely strong bruiser types with reaper, even found a pretty tanky hard hitting marauders build I think will be something we see alot of
Yeah but I can’t justify using any other heal with the build. Found I’m nearly impossible to take down and at least the traited well is actually a pretty nice self heal.
Could also just swap out the heal well for sov I guess and still take wop and take the transfusion trait… but the way I see it I don’t actually need to keep my minions up forever hell I’m not even takin the trait to give em more health. But I can actually keep the golem and bone fiend alive for quite some time. I’ll make a video of the build in some tourney use or something. My teams gonna get kittened when I tell them what the build is lol

Maybe don’t take all the lines that all do similiar things, I e been having great success lately incorporating defensive traits. Found one really weird cleric build using a mix of wells and minions.
