Submit a ticket with a screenshot attached. There is an in game option. ANet deals quite harshly with bots and they are normally quickly banned. Don’t forget though most botters are very persistent and will simply make a new account/etc. They make RL money off botting (most hardcore ones) so they aren’t going to be deterred losing one account. Its a forever battle.

I’ve used this method for reporting bots and got told “this is not the proper way, use the report tool.”

My opinion there is that Anet simply wants to ignore this issue anymore. They refuse to give players the tools necessary to report these players easily. It should not be a game of twitch reflexes just to catch a bot, it should be something that anyone can easily take care of. Frankly, the rudeness of the response I got from support from my tickets has put me in an apathetic mode. I’ve never reported a bot since.

Anet needs big numbers to impress people with in regards to PvP, so they’re doing everything they can to be able to say “Look at us! #### of people use our PvP system every day! We’re an e sport!!”

The targeting system in this game is a complete mess. “target closest” works with about the same frequency as precursors drop.

Anet seems more concerned with messing with target priority than fixing the issues. Ever notice that in Silverwastes when fighting a group of mobs, hitting tab generally auto-targets the nearest non-Modrem? That, in my opinion, is malicious code, not error.

Maybe he doesn’t have chat on? It is not uncommon for people to turn off chat in order to avoid drama and such. Or maybe he doesn’t speak English and thus doesn’t understand what you are trying to say. There are many possibilities outside of the: “he is ignoring me just to be a kitten”.

You can’t know that he doesn’t simply have the same way of thinking as you. If you think about a certain thing, it is almost 100% guaranteed that there are others that have thought the exact same thing.

Yes, it is annoying, but I wouldn’t be so swift to point fingers, since there is no way you can know that he actually does it deliberately.

Maybe he doesn’t have much time to play, so he can’t wait for you to come in and tag the mobs. Maybe he simply wants to kill the mobs on his own and so on.

And no, griefing requires doing it on purpose, which you have no proof that he is doing.

Always amazes me how fast you jump into these threads to defend griefing behavior, and the lengths you’ll go to bend over backwards and try and make them look like doe-eyed innocent victims.

Yeah, but Anet knows nothing about which woods are actually hard woods and which are soft ones. Just take a look at the trees that each come from and it’s in many cases, the complete opposite of reality, though it is just a fantasy game.

While I agree that this is just a fantasy game, I think it’s going a little bit too far to use real world names and then completely change them around. I suppose that even some of that is acceptable to some extent, but if I had a hand in creating a game I’d like to think that the users would be learning useful real world tidbits of information along the way.

I look at it as a situation of loss through refining process.

It takes you 3 attempts (3 logs) to make one into a usable plank. The rest are just loss/scrap.

Anet is too busy programming gemstore items to bother with actual armor and checking that the pieces don’t clip with each other, so we get outfits (not to mention that they are more precious gemstore items).

The biggest problem are the people buying the outfits with cash>gems. They are out there in large enough quantity that Anet doesn’t have to give a kitten about what people complain about on the forums. So we’re stuck with outfits.

Since we have all the various time gating in the game, I am curious as to what I am missing in regards to optimizing my daily routine.

Exclusing world boss rewards and dungeons, what do you do routinely each day?

Example: Craft lump of Mithrillium, etc.

He’s obviously been playing around with all those ancient relics the Durmond Priory keeps locked up for good reason.

I’d be happy with an account wide bag slot for 800 gems. All items within are shared among characters that have purchased this special slot (so yes, 800gems per character that you want to give access to)

The best thing Anet can do is to make the Steam Ogre only spawnable after FE is killed. That would prevent Griefers/Trolls from ruining the Boss Train for everyone on the map.

They are not griefers, nor trolls, they are killing the Ogre when it is best for them and their time, not when other people tell them too.

yes yes, not grieferss or trolls, they are killing the Ogre when it just magically so happens to be the most inconvenient for the largest amount of other players :roll eyes: Especially since you need to kill FE to do the final charge on the matrix key in which the next logical step is to do Ogre.

If you want to have your report to have more weight behind it though, make a support ticket and explain what happened, time, area and character/account names involved. Attach screenshots too. You can access support at the top of the page.

In my experience, all that will do is net you a message telling you to use the in game report tool.

Pro Tip: You could throw a million of them into the forge, and he’d still complain that your sample size was too small.

Hyena’s are pretty nasty critters, but you don’t have to do much more than google them to see images that show they are about as “clean” as any other predator in the areas they live in.
In fact, I’d go as far as to say that some of them have really beautiful coats.

To Hell with Tonics and Outfits! They did a rotten job of matching the Town Clothing pieces together to make Tonics. I’m not sure I would bother transmuting my Tonics into Outfits because of the poor combos they thrust upon us.

My solution? RESTORE TOWN CLOTHES! Put them back in the game EXACTLY AS BEFORE! Keep Outfits. I’m not saying to get rid of Outfits (though I’ll never buy any). But there is NO REASON Town Clothes could not be put back into the game. Darned few pieces (mostly hats) were turned into Outfits anyway. Just un-Tonic them and give us back our mix ‘n’ matchable non-combat clothing!

They’re saying here NCSoft isn’t giving you enough return on your investment. So they can try to get a block of votes.

I’d say everything is working as intended. Farming that area is already rewarding enough by giving you gold in form of crafting materials and rares (or ectos if you salvage them). Ascended chests should have a much higher chance of dropping in more challenging content (like fractals lvl 50).

Doesn’t have any necessary correlation to something being any fun at all either. As it presently stands, drop rates on a lot of things are mathematical comedies, with the only time-effective recourse for anything that can be bought being to buy it off the tp.

Let’s just ignore elephant in the room to do with how profitable it is for Anet to make gold hard to farm in the quantities anything truly desirable goes for, because some here will sorrowfully declare such to beer Isidro’s that Anet works so anything to foster gem to gold conversion and make money hand over dust selling nothing but transient ones and zeroes for real currency – let’s just set that entire explanation for why Anet loves to foster an environment in which farming is pointless aside, despite the fact that it explains everything quite entirely and we’d need look no further at all to understand very plausible reasons for every single thing Anet had ever done to farming in this game at all.

My common symptom of that businesses are it to make money and will very typically make choices that they expect will grow their profits is rarely a popular one amongst gaming community members that deliriously believe that these companies are their friends or have some sort of higher purpose and nobler calling than ‘people in any other business’

Let’s set that aside and look at what’s left for particle explanations, because I can’t think of any that aren’t more stretched than their need to be or more payphone if facts we do not have.

We know for a fact that Anet is a business.

We know for a fact that they are for profit and not done sort of charity.

We know for a fact that they sell gems that can immediately thence be spent on many things, but can also be converted into gold.

With these three facts alone, without requiring even the safest of assumptions, one would have a very sound basis to presume that Anet would be wanting to make a fiscal profit off selling gems.

One would be utterly faultless in talking these facts and assuming that if these facts are indeed factual, several other things are likely to logically follow, such as that Anet will this have strong incentive to maker or way and very effective to works real money on gems and acquire more gold for the equivalent of one hour’s worth of minimum wage pay than they could ever earn by farming anything in the game for that same equivalent hour.

The value simply isn’t there for farming. And I laugh with mocking pity at those that think it’s free to farm tour gold even if it’s a lot slower than any other method of acquisition, including even mediocre skill at dedicated flipping and marketeering.

For over hour’s worth of my salaried time, which is roughly $17.50/hour, 24/7/365, I could buy as of the time of this posting one $15 gem card for most of an hour’s worth of my employed time. That’s 1200 gems.

To buy 1200 gems with gold at this moment, I would have to spend 187g 20s.

To convert those 1200 gems to gold, I would make almost an even 120g.

There is nothing you, I or anyone can do to make anything resembling a consistent 120g an hour. Not even the most successful tp flipping a single person could get up to will yield profits that substantive.

Farming? You’re never going to make 120g a hour farming anything. You will, very typically, spend many hours to earn a fraction of that much gold. If you can reliably make 3-6g per hour if farming anything, you’re doing OK.

Anet has powerful incentive to make farming minimally lucrative. Compared to covering gems to gold, is absolutely trivial when eating the value of farming in game versus the buying power of a single hour’s worth of minimum wage real money expenditure.

And for those of us making far more than minimum wage, with way more likelihood of having $15 to spare than 15 hours spent numbingly farming?

It’s all economics. And Anet has no incentive at all to make farming even remotely competitive with the value coefficient of gem to gold conversion.

The thing is, we have no idea how much work these collections are. By all we know, some of the current precursors could be faster to acquire by grinding gold and buying them off the TP.

Guarantee you 1000% that it will be worlds easier to just farm the gold and buy them, and you can be darn sure that the collections will include items that only come from doing things like “solo each champion in Orr” or some dumb gimmick like that.

Troll’s End became a lot less arduous once a couple people showed me how to skip the initial “climb and fall” part of the puzzle. If you can just jump up from the floor the tricky bits are only a minute or so long.

But yeah, it’s certainly a dysfunctional little puzzle with a huge character. You can’t really see where you are so you just have to kind of guess. Not impossible but not easy either

They might be using accounts bought the last time they went on sale. It’s possible they buy a number of these to use when they don’t have stolen accounts. As long as they get enough buyers to cover costs and make a profit, then they’re ahead. Even if the account is deactivated before it makes a sale, the advertisement brings customers into their site.

I get it. Just pointing out that it’s not just players with poor passwords or security that are the issue.

Personally, if these people are going to keep buying accounts just to get them banned, it’s more money for Anet. Would rather that Anet cut the ban time down to an hour, but by all means, let these fools buy more accounts.

If Anet is fast enough with the bans, the bad guys will eventually go out of business.

This is a concept that needs to be floated about 3 years ago, when the game was still being developed.

You don’t just open a file and change a number from 80 to 20 and magically everything falls into place when you recompile the game.

What you want would require a massive amount of time and effort in both development and implementation, none of which would do anything but satisfy you and a few other customers.

The ROI would be the polar opposite of “income generation”.

Camera angle issues have been complained about from the very beginning, and Arenanet has completely ignored them.

I don’t think the devs understand the code well enough to even touch it.

Interesting that Anet tracks such data, but when you lose zone reward loot due to a bug with the inventory interface and encumber-ment, the data is nowhere to be found.
