I thin it’s even more hilarious seeing how some people find even dodging hard.
Example, – Liadri. All the whiners.
It doesn’t matter until you go WvW.
Yeah, no problem, with the current inflation I already expect gems to be 10G for 100 Gems soon.
So now, after they add new Ascended Weapons, I’ll have to not not only buy Transmutation Stones but also spend who knows how long time crafting Ascended Greatsword to make my Foefire’s Essence useful again?
I assume, If I no longer play PvE I won’t be able to make a Ascended Weapon?
From Arena Net Developer that was laid off -
“Today marks the release of the last bit of content I built for ArenaNet. I had always hoped my last hurrah would be an epic dungeon that would stand the test of time, and provide entertainment for players to the very end… but instead it’s an instance that will only persist for two weeks, and then go away.”
People usually chat in mmos to help each other, or to share their favourite experiences. From that, new bounds are usually created, and people make new friends.
The thing is, what’s there to help in GW2, outside of linking to map chat an event’s waypoint? What experience is there to share? The game is usually easy, and even when it is not, it lacks teamplay depth. The more epic events are completed by auto-attacked in zergs. You don’t see people coordinating in chat, becuase there’s no coordenation needed. You don’t see people forming parties in chat, except for farming trait-zergs, and only because it’s easier to tag champions while in a party. You don’t see anyone asking for guiding or for a partner while exploring, because everything can be done solo, and because everything is guided with icons placed on your map and mini-map.
There’s no adventure to be done together, except if you happen to have a guildie nearby you by chance. There’s no reason to care about players you see, because they’ll be playing their game solo, just like yourself, and because they’ll be warping back from place to place everytime they feel like going to a wp, just like you. There’s almost never an opportunity to stick with somebody, unless it was conscious decision with an already known friend or a guild member. Player characters you see in the world are just part of the scenario.
This is one of the key pillars of a MMORPG, and something that GW2 lacks at.
Quoted for emphasis.
There’s really not much to talk about in GW2.
This truly saddens me, this is not the Arena Net I used to love.
What saddens me even more – developers don’t seem to care anymore.
GW1 seemed to be a game created by passionate developers, GW2 seems to be game designed for maximum profit with the least effort.
I bet all the mediocre bad players are exited for the SAB returning.
PERSONALLY I never liked SAB I played it once and never again, and I didn’t come to complain here about it, but that’s not the point.
I’m asking whether we will get anything remotely as mature as for example Mass Effect or Bioshock. – Story.
Looking back to GW1 – at least the story was coherently written with characters you could relate to, and the villains.
Will we ever get a serious, mature, non-disney story without childishly cliche characters?
I’ve seen better fan fiction stories from 13 year old Twilight fan girls.
I mean, I have NOTHING against light hearted content now and then, but no LS so far have made me think to myself “Wow, this story is amazing!”.
What happened to dragons and all their evil minions?
It’s fairly obvious who will win this match up, however, I want to see if FA can hold back against TC better than DB did.
So this is the long awaited WvWvW update Arena Net has been working on for months?
claps sarcastically
The team of the best selling MMO in the history can’t produce a single permanent zone in 11 months. (100% sure Southsun was already done when GW2 released in August).
And with that, I leave this thread.
If you have the money, you can hire more people, and if you have more people, you can produce content faster, not to mention less buggy and full of glitches.
Best selling MMO in history can’t make LFG system for more than 11 months, I call that a BS.
GW2 is watered down facebook like game, no wonder it sells well.
In what other MMO can you beat the whole game just by auto attacking.
No, this is not whining, I’m simply extremely astonished.
And, if the growth is so big (and the money income) – why haven’t wee seen a single good real WvW update? I mean, come on, passive effects, culling fix, that’s it. Oh and they’re unable to fix unbalanced and boring match ups for months, not to mention balance skills.
I mean, come on, if this is true, than Arena Net surely must be the most lazy mmo company out there.
Excuse me, but how is 3 million copies sold good?
I mean, COD sells what, 12 million copies or something? (No I don’t play that game),
And didn’t WoW sell like 6 million copies in first year?
I’m quite interested in this.
How do you farm him? Are there any videos out there explaining the farm?
Announcing Cantha expansion.
I still think CD has the potential to beat and become better than SoS, but that’s just me.
I did it first time with 0/0/30/30/10 Cleric Build. No food
I dont understand what’s so hard about this battle.
I run around, kill some guards, few players and occasionally manage to solo camps, but I honestly fail to see how am I helping my server. I mean, it’s fun to troll people with stealth and annoy them, but in the end, isn’t, for example, support Guardian more productive? I may not get 12345 player kills but at least I’ helping other people , zergs etc.
Great video! My favorite anime!
by the big …
made some sweet
while Trahearne danced
suddenly Logan Thackeray…
Hopefully Arena Net doesn’t decide to cater to whiners.
Make MMO where you get awarded each time you press “W” “A” “S” or “D”.
People would still complain.
Failure of challenge should be punishing.
What do you expect? To get 10s each time you lose Liadri?
Don’t like it? Go buy a kite and go run around in DR. That’s fun? Right? Takes no skill whatsoever.
Yes, it was quite hard before the skill changes, before EoTN.
Shiro + Lich + Bonus. Good times.
Like the excuses for not being able to win Liadri – “Cheap”, “buggy”, “camera”, etc.
Back in the days the graphics and controls were bad, games glitchy.
As a Necro player with 2k hours in I’ve tried Liadri 160 times.
I came close to beating her a few times, but yeah it sure is difficult since Necros have no blocks, no invul and no vigor. Then again there are a few Necros who got it in 5 or 6 tries on the Necro forums, so it’s clearly not impossible at all.
Go full single target condition damage. She absolutely melts in Phase 2 like nothing, even with green gear. I actually did it on my first try with my necro (After doing it on my ranger, so I knew the pattern already.)
I don’t have a Rabid set, always hated full condi.
I’ve got Zerker/Knights mix, Soldiers set and Hybrid with Carrion+Rampager mixed.Been trying it with the Hybrid one.
I tend to die at phase 1 half the time and when I do make it to phase 2 (and the game decides to pick an easy pattern for the red circles) I’m usually already at low health.I’ve tried Spectral Grasp, I’ve tried Well of Darkness.
Used Locust Signet a lot and Lich and Plague some, too.I don’t really know what I’m doing wrong.
Maybe my build is just awful for it, maybe my partial R/G colorblindness messes me up or maybe I try to rush it too much, afraid of running out of time.
I won’t give up yet, but it sure is trying my patience.
Pattern is always the same.
Everyone replying please go install Guild Wars and run Gates of Madness, Glint’s Challenge and Shards of Orr solo and then come back and tell me it was LOLeasy. I guarantee you will not.
I use these three missions as a gauge to tell me how difficult content is in GW2. Queen’s Gauntlet is at a level of difficulty much higher than those three. I am saying nerf the difficulty to be on par with them. Right now it is just mind-numbing frustration and annoyance. I am saying this after having reached Tier 3, Fight 1.
Gate Of Madness was easy, especially with the heroes.
Glint’s Challenge was easy (first part) – soloable.
Shard of Orr? I don’t remember that mission.
Agree.
I’m all up for even more difficult content.
However, I’d love to see these zones to be separately instanced next time.
Yes. Good and Bad players.
I claim .
Your subjective opinion. Don’t generalize.
That being said, could you please create an example of a content that counts difficult and not “fake difficult”?
I won her with Cleric Guardian, no Zerker Gear.
You can’t make the World Bosses challenging – everyone will just zerg them.
Make challenging instances instead with more than 5 people teams.
How is one single arena, like 0.001% of the all content, making GW2 less casual?
Don’t like it, don’t do it. There’s plenty of content out there that is fun and easy.
Stop whining. It’s perfectly doable by all professions as shown in this thread -
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/jubilee/Liadri-Slayer-Club/first
If you’re a good and skilled player you’d be able to do Queen’s Gauntlet “easily”.
I’ve played this game roughly for 600 hours, less than most so called “casuals” – taking 2-3 month breaks, and I managed to win all fights up until the Liadri with ease – I didn’t even notice that the bosses one hit you.
Personally, for me this is the best Living Story update yet.
Back in the days, on the old consoles – PS1, Sega, I remember trying to win a single boss for weeks, this sure brings back memories, I guess newer generation just wants everything to be handled to them.

nice, 8/10 there fella
What’s the name of that armor?
T3 Chest + ?
Can one of the successful thiefes here for gods sake please post a more detailed explanation of how they beated Liadri.. just postign only the trait setting alone doesn’t make it…
Please post also, which traits were used, which utility skills and elite were used and especially, what the tactics were that were used with the build.
So what you did with the skills and when…Haven’t made liadri yet, stlll have to beat Strugar first …
What I’d like to know from successful thief builds here too… also done with 8 orbs of light ??What is this mechanic about the orbs anyway.. do you need to make the 8 orbs to be able to beat liadri, or can you beat liadri also without those 8 orbs?
Do these orbs of light damage liadri???PS: Oh nice, right at the moment I posted this, someone posts a thief explanation ^^
1) Get Ranged weapon that can inflict decent amount of damage.
2) Learn the pattern of phase one.
3) Learn the pattern of phase two.
4) When the red circle appears – you can wait for 1-2 seconds and only then dodge, you dont have to do it instantly.
5) If you get downed – try hitting the orb – most likelt first 2-3 shots will miss, but it’s still possible.
6) Get food buffs if you need them. Endurance regeneration for example.
7) Good luck.
There’s absolutely nothing dynamic about events.
They’re renamed quests which you can repeat again if you want to.
You know that Purple Champion Star elite monsters have?
We should get one too if we beat Liadri.
