Ascalon. Never forget.
I tested several options for the EM Guardian and basically the conclusion is what you’ve already been told: DPS loss is way too big compared to the current meta build. Keep in mind I did the tests before the current might and sigils of battle nerf.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/PVE-Might-Stacking-Build-Zerker
One good thing that I got left from those posts is the might stacking rotations IF there’s no PS Warrior or Elementalist in your party.
Non-zerker gear already have the extra survivability reward. There are zones (i.e. Silverwastes) where condition damage is more effective than raw damage due the type of monsters and their mechanics (some of them move a lot so applying Torment is more effective than chasing them). There are world events-bosses (i.e. Tequatl) where you can’t crit, thereby soldier gear is more effective. Berserker is and will be optimal for dungeons but there are very few PUGS that will kick you for not using it or ask you to ping your gear. Use what you like and make oyur own LFG to avoid this.
I like the idea. What abour race specific finishers? Would be a nice add too.
I’m with you. Don’t know why people were looking forward so bad for this, they didn’t mention it this weekend but a lot of things weren’t (new dungeons, new weapons, etc.). I think the announcement was great, the videos and Colin’s presentation really got me into this expansion hype, but guess there are many changes that still gonna take place besides the ones we know about.
About races, I even find the Hylek more interesting and they would fit more with a jungle themed expansion, but that’s my opinion (would love taking massive jumps through the jungle).
I’m thinking about the 2 main roles that guardians play:
Paragon: More defensive, shout improvement, new ranged weapon: Throwing Spear.
Knight: More offensive, DPS imrpovement, has the ability of dual-weilding 1 handed weapons (Sword, Mace and Scepter).
Yes!
Message Body length must at least be 15.
I’m just gonna asume that you’re either trolling me or just are one of those antielitist guardians that make dungeon runs last for hours in pugs.
Yeah, I’m that anti-elitist while I just stated a few posts ago I actually run the dungeon meta zerker in dungeons (Full ascended zerker). So I’m not trolling or an anti-elitist.
If you don’t want to read to other person’s opinions don’t ask on a forum.
I’d like opinions on the questions I ask, not some dude that just wants to put Zerker in my face just because it’s the fastest.
I’m having a hard time believing that you run what you stated (a pic will make me stop from saying anything else).
I’ve seen your previous posts, you like to ask questions and then tell people to keep their opinions for themselves (that’s weird and rude). Also I answered your question saying you won’t notice a difference cause PvE wise everything dies fast.
Finally, I don’t like to put anything in other men’s faces.
but I really don’t get why wearing soldier gear in open world… Dolyak’s will take like half an hour to kill you if you’re naked.
You don’t have to get it, if Zerker is all you know / care about I’d like to advise you not to comment on other builds (Unless they ask for help to run zerker <3)
I’m just gonna asume that you’re either trolling me or just are one of those antielitist guardians that make dungeon runs last for hours in pugs.
If you don’t want to read to other person’s opinions don’t ask on a forum. 84 power loss won’t make a difference in open PVE as everything is easy and will die only by looking at it even in uber soldier gear, there you have your answer.
How about no?
I asked for a questions if I would notice the 84 power loss, not for the perfect build for PvE…
Anyone able to answer my question?
Edit:
I’ve got 100% world completion, I don’t need to give you a reason why I like to run stuff I like <3
I don’t know about noticing the power loss… Go and test and see it for yourself as it seems most logical course of acftion and I’m not asking you for reasons, just trying to help, go and run/wear whatever you like ^^ but I really don’t get why wearing soldier gear in open world… Dolyak’s will take like half an hour to kill you if you’re naked.
Thanks for that long post, still – will I notice the 84 power loss? :P
I’ve got 4,5k hours on my guardian, survivability is not an issue
I run full zerker ascended in dungeons.
Higher crit means more damage than higher base power with lower crit chance, keep in mind also that with this build you would be making 7% more damage to foes that are burning (gw2skills don’t add this percentage because it’s a variable) and you should spam VoJ with this setup so it’s perma 7% or perma 10% with Scholar Runes.
If you have no problem surviving then just take the 2 points in Honor back to Zeal, this will mean total of 2106 base Power + 5% more damage with GS with Zealous Blade traited +7% against burning foes with Flame Legion Runes or + 10% with Scholar Runes while you are at 90% health. Still more damage cause of higher crit, more base power than your second build and similar power to your first build adding the % from runes that don’t show in the build editor.
Most important is that you can run zerker gear in open world regardless of the build as long as you use zerker cause everything will melt in your way. For world completion (that I think is what you’re looking for) I would suggest Obal’s staff camper’s delight:

Hello there
From what I see you want to run something very similar to the Meta build but with soldier armor and the difference lies in Crest of the Soldier VS. Runes of the Traveler.
First of all, I want you to realize there are a lot of better options when it comes to Crest or Runes. Casual PVE content as Dungeons and World Bosses aren’t areas that big (except for Arah) for you to need the permanent speed buff plus you have traited Retreat that will grant you swiftness every now and then, for running open world and map completion just change your GS for Staff.
Now Let me talk to you about the gear of choice you have made: I know you are worried about surviving, but as I see it, you can have the same (even better) survivability with better damage based on higher crit chance. I made this build for you to check:
I changed: Soldier gear for Knight, Night Sigils for Accuracy and Frailty (more crit chance and Vilnerability to stack with your blinds, besides it’s not always night), picked up Flame Legion Runes (they’re really cheap) so you can use before you decide to go with Scholar. Also took 2 points from Zeal to Honor (more vitality, now you have Vigor on crit so more dodges and Retreat will recharge every 30 seconds (gw2skills needs to be updated!) so this will mean more survivability. also changed healing breeze for shlelter (blocks will save you many times) and swapped UC for Absolute Resolution for it to be your main condi removal and getting more passive healing.
As I see, this is kinda Metabuild training wheels for guardian, even if your power is lower, you’re gonna make more damage than with Soldier gear (52% crit chance means 1 in every 2 hits are a critical hit) so you’re gonna go through PVE content faster and be a more helpful party member in dungeon runs.
My advice: Play with this, learn how to time your dodges, blinds and blocks and start moving piece by piece to Zerker armor. If you have gold go for Scholar runes instead of Flame Legion.
Sorry for the long post but I had to explian. here’s a potato dressed as Iron Man:

I may be jumping to conclusions but only to a similar degree to yourself. Perhaps you don’t recognize how your tone could be perceived? I find this a common problem these days although I’m not advocating some political-correctness agenda, but am often baffled when these people get surprised about the response such attitude elicits.
Perhaps you didn’t intend your opinion to be initially hypocritical but surely you could understand why someone would attribute that to your opinion? For the same reason you want specific content, others share the same reasons to include part of what you want (lore/story) yet deemed unimportant? Many people want Tengu not only for the looks but also the areas, new events, new stories, lore and depth (or did you not want those things?).
Perhaps your opinion simply was convenient and not hypocritical, although it also makes it ignorant as well since the reasons you feel oppose such a content update could be said about practically any additional content (Imagine how kittened off everyone would be if we get only 2 new dungeons and no new rewards…and yes I’m ignoring the fact the devs likely would never do that!).
So surely, you’re not being obtuse and ignoring facts while pressing your preferences and calling all of the Tengu fans children, are you?
And I think your previous “lol whatever” comment was much easier to reply to (in fact, I wasn’t going to say anything at all lol).
Yeah previous comment was deleted by forum moderators but in fact expresses what I think this discussion has been led to. Just that I remember a korean game where all they added was a new class every year and everything else remained the same, hope this doesn’t happen here since there’s a lot more to do in an expansion. This week forums were filled with Tengu race threads don’t want the expansion to suck
On the other hand, I don’t think there’s a tone when you read (prehaps you were reading it in your own tone) and seriously the samurai idea doesn’t fit to Anet’s profession philosophy and is weird. Don’t think an opinion can be ignorant either, but I seriously think judging other’s opinions is (wich I didn’t do since all I said is "Am I the only one who is not excited with tengu).
I hope you can play with the bird (seriously, not being sarcastic) if that’s all you’re looking forward to. Grew tired of this gonna just play the game and wait for the weekend anouncement. Have fun lol.
Am I the only one around here…
Who doesn’t care about new races or classes as long as we have new areas, lore and dungeons?
I mean, seriuosly, a race will bring new esthetics, new cultural armor and new race elite skills (also new armor clipping and complaints)… It’s very hard that a new class gets me away from the 2 classes I love playing in PVE (Guardian and Warrior) and most of the ideas on the matter are weird or just dumb (no offense intended) so, why don’t we just get a second off the hype train and focus in what is really important for the game: Areas, dungeons, depth, new LS, new events, fixing bugs, maybe changes to WvW and SPvP.
You dont find that a tad hypocritical? The same reason you want more new content, is essentially the same reason some want new class/race. Because people find it fun to explore and try different things. Just because you dont find it appealing doesnt mean nobody else does.
No I don’t find it hypocritical. New class and race will add very little and won’t be enjoyed by everyone and also it also has the problems stated by someone else in this thread. An expansion is about new content (it expands the game). Races and classes might be part of the expansion but are not a priority. Imagine how kittened off everyone would be if we get only 1 race and 1 class and no new content.
It kinda sorta is hypocritical. I mean, people won’t find what you desire to be as important, they’d be kind of hypocritical to claim what is important to you is important to everyone when you’re practically saying people’s opinions and preferences differ…then finishing by denouncing those opinions and replacing their preferences with your own.
That’s not being hypocritical. That’s being convenient at most and I’m not replacing anyone’s preferences with my own, it’s a fact that game expansions are intended to add new content and not new characteristics to old content so children get on the hype train. If all you want in an expansion is being able to play as a Sesame Street character I really hope you can fulfill your dream.
So you didn’t just attempt to replace someone’s preference in a topic by telling them to swing a forum thread off topic to focus on other content additions like dungeons, zones and the like despite that being against the rules (off-topic posts)?
At the very least, I find it hypocritical that you pretend to garner discussion but your actual goal is to stifle discussion by starting a flame war. You should probably start a thread to discuss the topics you’re interested in.
I think you make too many assumptions and come to early conclusions. What I stated is related to the topic of the thread beacuse the main topic is about a change that might come with an expansion, and it’s a change that I don’t find as important as other changes that might take place, so I’m not breaking any rules. My interest is not starting a flame war but to express my opinion, something that I’m granted to do as a member of this community.

Great job! Anet should take notes of some of your ideas… Or hire you! Love the LS character profiles, I feel right now they’re just too plain and this would give them a lot of depth and make LS more enjoyable and actually you could approach it like a “Story”.
Keep it up!
against engi the most valuable weapon is my scepter
range weapon which allow me to hide time to time against those turrets and proc some dmg on the engi
when i see him panic or use heal then i burst with gs comboi also like to use hybrid guard 6,2,6,0,0 carrion build so the conditions just east them bite after bite
^This
Use Chians of Light when the engi is near hi healing turret then Smite. All engis use the same Elite (Supply Crate) and once you enter “their zone” you’re gonna have a hard time surviving so scepter and Binding Blade (GS) or Banish (Hm) to get them out of “their zone”
About knockbacks: Don’t know what build you use but asuming you use the 2 most common builds
→ Meditation: Use Judge’s Intervention as soon as you get knocked to get near the engi, then push, pull him/her or just burst. Save condi cleansing, don’t spam your skills.
→Bunker: Stand Your Ground and Save Yourselves will get you back on your feet. Decap engis have limited knockbacks, don’t use stability when you’re immobilized (range attack with scepter or Staff).
Charr just looks weird as guardian.
they are actually look really good. with heavy t3 cultural especially they look beast. my personal opinion is norn for guardian, charr for warrior, human for thief, etc. with the cultural armor for them they look really nice.
Charr is more fitting as engineer, because they are, an engineer race. Of course, warrior fits too, but norn fits much more as warriors, because of the way norn are in lore.
Human just fit as everything, because every piece of lore about the professions boils down to human.
You played only as human in original Guild Wars. Warrior, monk, elementalist, necromancer, ranger, mesmer, assassin, ritualist, paragon and dervish.
Guardian in lore got its roots in paragons, that later on learned the way of the monk. Guardian also got a tiny bit of ritualist in them, the spirit weapons.
@Elodium btw what’s the dye?
Hard to see in the shadows there but I would say any dye that’s in the range of Fog and Fluff Dye on the armour, and the cloth piece is like Gold Dye.
When in doubt always roll human female.
Also: human male empower animation looks like him taking a poop in the middle of woods. Just to put that thought in your head.
Every human female just looks like barbies, all of them look the same. The human male empower animation is far more awesome for this reason alone that’s linked below. So go ahead and float or whatever, look all bland and boring. The human male guardians will rock the Freddie Mercury.

Fixed the image for you.
Taaza focuses on 1 person. Once you have aggro she will generally stay on you till the end of the fight no matter how many times people rez you etc. At least thats what i have noticed in all my SE runs. Best bet is to have really good DPS to get her down quickly. And as jerus said, its almost ele first, seems like she targets smallest health pool but ofc that is a speculation have pulled her aggro on warrior etc too. Either way yeah..just kill her asap. On guard you at least have a lot of blocks..
Yeah think part pf the problem was having a low DPS party.
Lately I started bringing Mace in there if I don’t have a competent Ele blasting might for us (I hate blocking fire fields). With that + Focus + Shelter + Dodges + FR pretty easy to keep upright. Pull with Focus4, works like a charm.
Will try swapping scepter for mace and see how it goes… I’ve read she also tends to focus on targets that aren’t in the melee range. Thanks for the adevice.
Just unlucky with auto attack aggro I guess. If there is an ele, ask to summon Rocky.
Thanks for the advice.
You mean this Rocky, right?
Can’t say I have but I know I get agro quite often on Guard. Usually it seems Ele is almost always first, but guard is not far behind. Of course that’s just how it seems no scientific evidence. Only suggestion…. DODGE!
B…bu… but I dodge, got out of endurance fast on those fights. Tazza is a meanie when she focus on someone. I run that dungeon almost daily, I hadn’t got killed by her in a long time. I usually pull her to the main room using scepter. Guess this kind of things happen once in a while.
So, long story short: Yesterday I was running AC P3 with a pug where we had a Minion Master Necro and a Staff Guardian (yay!). At Kholer nobody stacks but me, minions get aggro kholer does his spinning attack and get us all killed. Knowing that this will keep on happening I leave the party.
After that I pugged AC path 2 and 3, ran the dungeon without any inconvinient. But after that a friend and I joined a pug for SE path 1 and 3 and I had one of the worst runs of my life: On P1 Tazza kept aggro on me constantly, made me waste my blocks, blinds, reflects and invulnerability really fast (I play zerker guardian btw). As soon as I was resurrected, she sent the spinning clones that got me down immediately again. For Path 3 there was a similar scenario when we melee the carrier, I got focused by all the dredge, but this time WoR saved me. Destroyer of the worlds was similar to Tazza, he got me down only once as most of his attacks are easy to read and/or areas.
My question is: Is there a “punishment system” for leaving dungeons where you get more aggro from mobs than usual? I know that when you leave/join a lot of parties you can’t use the LFG tool for a while but I was wondering if there’s another way to punish the leaving parties behaviour.
Has anybody else experimented this? Was it just a coincidence?
If the goal of the build is to make everyone else in your party do the killing for you and to be a walking punching-bag, this will work. On a more serious note, don’t do it, there are builds and gear for PVE, for WvW and for PvP. You won’t be able to make a “Everywhere build” for guard.
Just my 2 cents.
The only thing more useless than the Guardian’s shield are the Kardashians.
Irony
Anet wanted to move away from the Trinity, but they wind up making the game centered on playing 1 role (DPS)….
DPS DPS DPS
This game would be better with defined roles that had equal value in the game.
The Community in general agrees that the game is centered around DPS and how fast you can kill kill kill. Most groups will kick you if dont spec for the most damage, unless grouped with friends…
the fight mechanics in dungeons dont even require people specing differently from just pure damage potential… thats a shame.
Such a cool game to play, with only 1 role to play to be of any use.
There really is no point playing any other way. its a waste. Damage beats all. When the Raid Dungeons come, i seriously hope Anet considers expanding the group roles, because I am tired of the DPS fest.
Dont get me wrong, I liked the DPS role in the trinity as well, but I also liked to play other roles in the game. Thats what makes it fun, is the ability to play more roles.
Come again… How is doing something completly different irony?
The skills you’re talking about (Shelter, Virtues, Renewed Focus) are used in every guardian build, including tank. I’ll just asume you’re a mesmer with sore buttcheeks from meditation guardians. Hope to find you in tpvp soon.
Quote: “Come 1v1 at me n00b” pops 3 illusions -Almost every mesmer that gets killed in pvp-
First off, once you created your character, that it, its permanent: Delete the character or use a makeover kit.
The crafting menu is a mess: Use the search button
The amount of grinding you have to do in order to increase your crafting level is insane: Buy materials from BLTP.
Achievements.. Oh my god.. Stop making these kittened up achievements: Don’t do the achievements, it’s not mandatory.
For example, I spent days earning tickets from this world tournament thing, and I decided to spend them on two ascended rings. What I didn’t know is that all ascended gear share this ‘unique’ rule: You can have the same stats but one must be defensive and the other offensive. Read and search the forums before making any mayor investment/purchase.
Now because I’m working, I have less time to play this game, and sometimes I just want do something else other than play GW2: Stop playing.
After about a month of not playing, I’ve come back to it, only to find out that I missed an episode of season 2, which I now have to pay to unlock; what else have I missed? This is exactly why I didn’t want to play WOW, not just for the subscription, but to not have this constant feeling of being tied to the game in order to get my moneys worth: You don t have to pay with real money.
I want to be able to play the game when I want without feeling like I’m being punished: Don’t feel punished, Season 2 isn’t that good anyway
I’m looking for a solo/small group roamer in WvWvW.
I want to deal sustained DPS and have strong CC/Imob.
For Roaming I have to admit Warrior outshines Guardian. Longbow is a great weapon because of the areas and the conditions, if you really don’t like it go Rifle but remember it s a single target weapon. Now for the main weapon you’ll have to chose between Hammer (more stuns) or GS (more mobility). Build is here: Warrior – Hammer/GS Roamer
Guardian would be more squishy and going with Runes of the Traveler is recommended, but this will make you lose a big part of you DPS. Scepter/Focus is a good combination but your auto attack and area attack are way too easy to dodge-predict. Guardian will outshine in zergs even more that the warrior. Build is here: Guardian – Meditation Roamer
I’m going power/toughness/vit with my armour, because screw berserker, I want to be tanky.
But what runes/sigils would be the best option in pve for a guardian who mainly uses GS/Hammer?
I think there are nicer ways to say that you don’t like a set. As you see people is pretty sensitive around here when it comes to gear discussion.
I would enforce the idea to run zerker because it’s the more efficient way to play the PVE content, most important, dungeons runs are faceroll once you learn the mechanics. In that case Scholar Runes, Sigils of Force/Night, Strength, Frailty and Accuracy are the way to go.
But as you want to go tanky I would suggest what I run in my set for Tequatl: Reviving and removing conditions is important there, so I run a PVT set with Superior rune of the Trooper for condition removal with shouts (that I asume you’re using with PVT and GS/H. Another option is Superior Rune of the Dolyak for maximum tankiness.
If you’re going with cleric trinkets I would suggest Superior Rune of Altruism so at least you would be contributing giving Might and Fury to your party each time you heal.
For Sigils I would suggest Force on each weapon and Battle/Bloodlust for maximizing power and your damage. For the Soldier/Cleric setup Sigil of Water might work.
Truth be told, sooner or l ater you’re gonna find that zerk gear is way more useful for you and for the persons who run dungeons with you. As I’ve said before, every class in the game has the potential of surviving without someone healing/giving boons to them. But have it your way and, most important, have fun!
Sorry for you guys that picked male guradians, doomed to look like pooping a giant load after a Taco Bell and heavy drinking night while using empower. Love it comes in 3 blasts like super diarreah BAM-BAM-BAM. Prehaps changing skill name instead of the animation? EMPOOPWER and add a flushing sound after you’re done craping casting.
There’s already a Warrior wh Skill called Charge so you would have to think for a different name. You cal always use your imagination and think your Guardian is shouting at his foes “I wanto you to… Retreat!” when charging to them.
It’s even more unsettling and confusing when activating all of my shouts and it says, “Stand Your Ground” followed by “Hold the Line” followed by “Retreat” lol?
Does your guardian shout “Hold the Line”? Think it’s been bugged for a while. I can be wrong, haven’t used that skill in a very long time.
There is no nice way of saying this but here it goes:
Seemed pretty nicely and respectfully said to me.
Well thank you! Just that I know this is a sensitive subject to many fellow Guardians.
Would prefer Quaggan oooooooOOOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOooooooo
There is no nice way of saying this but here it goes:
If you go with this build to dungeons you’re becoming a burden to your party. You’re dealing no damage, offer no useful boons (useful= Might and Fury) and more centainly you’re lowing the DPS with the shield knockback.
Every class has the potential to survive absolutely all the PVE content without the need of someone healing them (search youtube to watch every class solo Lupicus). All you have to know is the content mechanics.
Anyway, play how you want. In the long term, the more PVE content you run, the more you’ll find it’s faceroll and will start moving to Zerker gear and meta builds. Maybe you want to start with Knight gear for more survivability but, as some else said before, this is way too much defense and healing power, even for WVW content.
Superior Rune of The Bearbow (6/6)
(1): +100% chance to hit like a wet noodle
(2): -50% creativity while chosing a name for your bear
(3): +100% chance to kitten off your party during a dungeon run
(4): +100% chance to survive while everyone else do your work
(5): +100% chance to be asked to at least trait spotter
(6): +100% chance to be seen as the laziest kind of player in the game
TBH gem conersion is one of the features I’ve rarely used in the game. But Anet shouldn’t change something that means quality of life ofthe users in behalf of Anet’s own profit. Keep in mind that this is one of the only features for some people to gain access to the gemstore items, some people don’t like using credit cards online, some people don’t have credit cards or just don’t like spending real money in online games. Forcing us to buy minimum 400 gems is not paying attention to your customer needs.
Mainly because stacking might outside of combat is a time loss.
We don’t agree on that, it takes 10 seconds top and helps increasing your party damage. If there’s no elementalist, engineer or bow warrior you should might stack with the whole rotation before big fights even if using the meta build.
You’re loosing about 35% dps
Yes you’re gonna lose DPS. But as stated before, this build is for pugging, think about how long are you abble to keep 90% health when you end up in a PUG where no one else is running meta builds. In those parties you’re more likely to die because of the long fights and because some party members will be using range. I’m a meta build user, and I know that after blinds, blocks, heals and stamina are on CD the only choice is to soak damage.
According to my maths the loss is for 37% (with all boons form SY and + 90% health) versus + 875 power you will get with 25 might stacks. I don’t know if the % bonuses are calculated from base power or not but, if calculated from base damage (3510) the meta will give +1298 power, 423 more power and yes it’s a big number but think this is build is looking forward helping increase party DPS and have some extra survivability.
This build would work in pugs obviously, but retrait if you plan to play with good players.
Agreed, most definitely. For speedruns and running with friends keep meta.
Also, since you rely on precision, assassin instead of berserker is the way to go. Especially since this is a pug build and you can lack fury. You’re sitting at 86% crit chance with banner of discipline and fury, that’s low.
Maybe mixing assassin and zerker you can come up with something interesting, but as you can see, the power loss is already big. Empowering Might isn’t the only might source, there’s also Superior Runes of Strength , Superior Sigil of Battle, food and OOC stacking so maybe going for a lot of precision will turn in lower DPS as base power will go down.
Please change the title to PvE might stacking.
Done
Well, first of all thanks for the feedback guys.
Shortly put, you’re loosing too much dps for not enough support.
Yes, there’s a dps lost but it’s not that much. You can easily keep 25 might stacks that would be + 875 power in exchange for a max+ 17% damage (all boons from SY) from Radiant Power and Power of the Virtous, +200 Power from Zeal traitline and ocasionally +5% from Zealous Blade that you get in the meta build.
You’ve been on the same tracks that I have, made this one earlier myself based on the 4/5/0/0/5 http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNAR8dlsApZo9CxVI8DNBARlbREh2GAPAmxQ4B-TFSGABKcEAA4BAAy+DAq+jUKBHS5XCXEAy0NIEATA-w
Can maintain between 19-25 stacks of might on myself as long as the enemy has enough of HP to let me keep critting
Tried swapping your food for Chocolate Omnomberry Cream? +20 boon duration right there
That build looks nice, want to give iot a try and compare damage with mine. Thanks for the advice on omnomberry cream, will look into that.
Before important fights I lay down my Hallowed Ground, use Focus 5, equip Hammer and use 2, swap to Staff for 4, and swap back to Hammer for 2 again (Focus 5 – Hammer 2 – Staff 4 – Hammer 2). This gives the party 21 stacks of might that lasts long enough thanks to Omnomberry Cream, Strength Runes and Hallowed Ground effect (+%85 might duration). Though because of the cooldown of Hallowed Ground, it cant be done for all pre fights, so I casually start with Staff 4 instead. Though if the time is convenient enough I can swap Empowering Might to Two Handed Mastery, which allows me to blast Purging Flames 3 times and have 21 stacks of might again (with +%65 might duration though). This can be tricky as you want to swap to Empowering Might immediately after the rotation ends or channeling Staff 4 (rotation with Purging Flames is Hammer 2 – Focus 5 – Hammer 2 – Staff 4) and Hammer 2 must be cast immediately when you lay down the field and when its off cooldown. I find these rotations very time – might effective, but one could reach the cap easily too.
Those are some nice rotations for Might Stacking. Thanks for sharing
Hello Guardian community
I’ve been testintg this PVE build for some time and so far it has worked pretty good for me so I wanted to share it with you and hear your input.
Into the Mist http://intothemists.com/guides/4824-might_stacking_zerker_pug
It relies on Might Stacking that comes from: Empowering Might, Superior Runes of Strength , Superior Sigil of Strength, Superior Sigil of Battle and food (Bowl of Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew)
This build has some extra survivability -+Vitality, extra dodges and heal on dodge- compared to the current guardian meta build and synergizes great in a team with a Phalanx Warrior and/or a scepter dagger/focus Elementalist (not that much with Engineers because the use of water fields). Thou you won’t achieve the damage output you get with the meta, you will be able to deal a decent amount of damage and share might with the party.
This Build won’t work pretty well if teaming up with a hammer Guardian because of constatnt Light Fields.
The main idea is to boost the party’s damage and your own damage with the constant Might Stacking. For this reason I recommend it if you usually run dungeons with pick up groups (PUGS) where you can find players that run with non-zerker gear.
It’s not a cheap build to test so I suggest to use it if you usually use the looking for group tool for dungeons. Another option would be to use Superior Runes of the Privateer
You can stack might off combat swapping your Greatsword for Staff and Hammer (description in the Into the Mist Guide) that will give you 22 might stacks before entering combat, pretty easy rotation once you get used to it. I can post a video later showing might stacking and preformance if you’re interested.

-I got my precursor (Dawn) from droping 4 random rare greatswords on the MF, no spamming. I took a picture with my cell phone and sent it to my friends who had been playing a lot more and for a longer time than me. 3 of them stopped playing GW2 after that, the other one became a casual player -sold Dwan to get Dusk and craft Twilight-
-I use camera angle to see female player’s underwear when they’re wearing a short skirt (only Human and Norn).
-I mock people often by using emotes (sit, cower, laugh) in tpvp once I kill them. I only do this when I’m certain my team will win the match.
-I play easy mode in tpvp (Summonmancer and Hambow Warrior). I win a lot of matches and rarely die on a 1 vs 1.
-I change my necro build to fearomancer when playing Skyhammer just to make people fall off the ledge over and over again. I get insulted a lot by doing this.
-I don’t res bearbow rangers when I’m in a pug (if they’re melee and have spotter that’s another story).
-I leave dungeon pugs when I see that one or more players isn’t lvl 80. I also leave if, after a while, I realize I’m the only zerker in the group (I run dungeons with Guardian Warrior or Ele). Also will leave if there’s more than 1 of these: Bearbow ranger, Condi Necro, Healing Engi and Bunker Guardian. I don’t usually run dungeon pugs if most members don’t have 5k AP at least.
I had to change my name after a year and a half playing and I think it was because someone posted it here still hope it made some people laugh while I used it.
To people complaining about immersion and reporting other player’s names please note that, for some other players, immersion means being creative and sharing a smile with your friends online.
-1 to people posting their own names and pet’ss names on this thread.
+1 to Jamie Hyneman -Norn Engi- best character personification i’ve seen ingame.
Magg’s balls
I lol’d. Made me think about a South Park episode (such big balls for that tiny Asura)
On topic go 2/5/0/2/5 with Superior Aria extra Vit and faster Aegis from Retreat might help your survival. Also remember to always run with Potent Potion of Flame Legion Slaying on you. Some food like Mango Pie or Omnomberry Pie will help you survive and they’re cheap to craft/buy on TP (once you get comfortable playing zerker guard you can switch to Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup)
But most important is that you run with other zerkers. As said before, if your party is composed of 2 bearbow rangers, 1 condition necro and 1 bunker guardian, odds are that you die a lot.
Find competitive players on your guild and if you strictly have to pug state that they must be experienced (would suggest AP filter) and run zerker gear.

I want to tank my groups from lvl 1 to Endgame.
Follow this guide:
1. Go to character creation page, pick Norn race and be sure to choose the biggest body type and make him as tall and fat as you can.
2. Equip any armor and paint it green.
3. Congratulations, you are a tank now.
Tip: If you want to be a german tank you just have to use grey dye
I used to run dungeons with Jamie Hyneman a Norn with the giant stache. Haven’t seen him in a while.
