I was for hours on VB and i was 200% participation and almost ready to get t4 reward. Then i got dc just before we kill matriach, and when i log back in i was t1 and 0% participation…. this is bs big time!
A-net u are so unfair… whats the point of playing when crap like that happens? All this time for nothing?
Great game… so much fun….
Next time join a commander’s squad and just tell him that you have joined because you have ISP/hardware/bad luck problems. When you relog you’ll end up in the same map. Most commanders won’t have a problem with this.
And to you also the question:
Why do people HAVE TO join a party or squad to rejoin the same map?
I don’t know, I’m not a Dev I’m just giving a temporary solution while this gets worked.
I *B*elieve, I have remade my female elementalist Sylvari up to ten times
Seana The Eleventh. There you go, problem solved.

There are several PvP reward tracks that give you clovers upon completion (can’t check which ones, because I’m at work right now). Now, let me tell you that mystic clovers are the first thing you have to craft in the legendary weapon process (if you didn’t do it that way, you did it wrong). Why? Because the T6 materials you’re getting (that are worth a lot btw) will help you in the crafting of the gift of might and the gift of magic that are also needed for the gift of fortune.
Now, if you’re crafting a new legendary weapon (Astralaria, etc. ) you can always sell the T6 materials you’re getting from the forge to buy more Ectos (because obsi is worth Karma and mystic coins and philosopher’s stones/crystals drop everywhere and are cheap).
This would be a rather nice change… que the QQ about destroying sigil prices on the TP though…
I don’t know much about TP behaviour ATM, but from what I’ve seen there are lots of speculators and people trying to raise/drop prices of certain items (just like real economy)
My guess would be prices of certain sigils would rather go up if this is ever implemented: Night, Air and Fire as well as specific slaying would raise cause they’re situational, multi-purpose and gonna become more useful. After a while all sigils could go down (less demand of people who already has ascended weapons) but not that much because everyday new ascended weapons are crafted and lots a of players (new level 80, casuals and most of people with Alts) don’t bother and would just stay with exotics. Ascended crafting components like Deldrimor Steel Ingot and Spiritwood Plank definitely would rise to the roof.
I know it has been asked before, but we really need this improvement for our quality of life. Ascended weapons are a time and gold investment and not every player has the time/gold/patience to craft multiple sets or to invest in new sigils everytime he goes on a different game mode. Now that the game has multiple scenarios where we have different sigil needs (PvE, Raids, night/day and WvW) we should be able to sigil swap on our ascended weapons.
Changes would be:
- Each ascended weapon can be “loaded” with 2 different sigils (2 handed weapons can be “loaded” with 4).
- Players would still be able to have active only one sigil at a time per weapon (2 sigils for 2 handed weapons).
- Players must be out of combat in order to swap sigils.
- This property would be extended to Legendary weapons.
- Changing ascended weapon stats would still only be attainable through the Mystic Forge.
Trepzacoatl, inspired in the winged serpent from the mesoamerican civilizations Quetzalcoatl.
It’s time to have a bit more diversity in dragon’s design and morphology, all dragons in GW2 seem to come from the western fantasy concept and nordic mythology (or at least they’re inspired by them). I think a great serpent will fit the underwater role perfectly.
It’s unlikely since the dungeon team has been eliminated form what I’ve heard. In another thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Dungeons-plummet-in-pve-content/first#post5917706
I suggested that a possible solution could be to to implement a Dungeon Mastery in the mastery system that unlocks unique content inside dungeons, unique equipment, skins and titles. The criteria to get the Mastery would be that it could only be leveled inside dungeons (some bonus if you’re running with a newbie -less than X AP, and/or under lvl 80-). CoF P1 farming must be nerfed if this or something else is ever going to be implemented to make people come back to dungeons.
I think a possible solution would be to encourage veteran dungeon runners to teach the paths to new players (even if they’re running it just once). Something like a Mastery, that unlocks unique content inside dungeons, unique equipment, skins and titles. The criteria to get the mastery would be that it could only be leveled inside dungeons (some bonus if you’re running with a newbie -less than X AP, and/or under lvl 80-).
So CoF farm with someone’s level 1 alt account in the party? I’m not dismissing your suggestion but pointing out a flaw in it.
I see what you mean and it’s a good point. I sincerely think CoF farm has to get a nerf at some point and I guess they’ll do it when most players are maxed out in Tyria Masteries (right now it would cause much controversy).

I had a rough time adapting to HoT expansion. I used to run all dungeon paths daily and I thought all was left was quitting the game after the expansion went live.
I started playing a lot of PvP, where I got used to the new specs, then I went back to PvE, where I started to enjoy HoT’s organized maps and the new FotM (yes, even with the exploits).
I see this as a step in the right direction, there is still a lot to fix and balance but they’re focusing on what we demanded (well, except for WvW, but fixing that zerg fest is no easy task).
ANET must bring the Vanilia specs back and make the elites an alternative and not superlative…
My 2 c…
This. Talking PvPwise, Meditation Builds must become a viable option again and Bunker Guardian should make a comeback.
Talking about PvE I agree that direct and condition damage should see an increase, so we can become competitive and be equal to current meta PvE Classes (yeah, I’m looking at you Herald).
What I would like to see:
- Spirit weapons reworked: Been said before, still would be nice if SW could have an option to be wielded, much like Ele’s conjured weapons, while they’re not active as “pets”.
- Sustain: This goes for people who like to play Bunker builds in PvP and WvW, I think Traits like Altruistic Healing should have a passive healing factor (outgoing self heal while you have unused shouts). In the light of other classes sustain I think Virtue of Resolve should be buffed.
- Attention to 1h weapons: Sword, Mace and Scepter need to become viable options for both, PvE and PvP again. Increase Sword AA damage and make Scepter #2 become a symbol.
- Glacial heart: It must go somewhere else in the trait lines, making us chose between Absolute Resolution and Glacial Heart was, indeed, an evil move.
Why do I see this so often?
Because it’s true?
“Vitality is a defensive attribute. Each attribute point put into vitality increases the maximum health of the character by ten hitpoints. More health allows a character to better withstand burst damage and degenerative damage.”
Source: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vitality
“Toughness is a defensive character attribute. Each attribute point put into toughness increases the armor of the character by one, which improves the character’s ability to withstand direct damage. Toughness has no effect on falling damage.”
Source: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Toughness
Mobs in GW2 don’t do burst damage nor have heavy condition damage.
I agree that full Marauder will do more damage than full Knight. But if you mix Knight with Berserker you will do more damage depending on the number of Zerker pieces you’re using.
The chances of you winning is that both Eles DC… Both get their keyboard and mouse unplugged… Or both of their cats walk through their keyboards.
If you’re asking for PVP, Marauder amulet should give you some survivability against current meta builds.
For PVE understand this:
Vitality: Gives you survivability against Condition Damage
Toughness: Gives you survivability against Direct Damage
How many mobs apply heavy Conditions on you? That’s right, not many of them, not even in Raids, Dungeons or FotM. If you invest in Vitality gear (Marauder, Sentinnel or Valkyrie) for PVE you’re wasting your money and you’re gonna swap sooner or later. If you really really have problems surviving invest in Knight (Toughness/Power/Precision) gear mixed with Zerker. Knight is kinda training wheels for Zerker wich is the gear you should aim to because PVE (even new maps) are fairly easy and ATM we have an optimal DPS ranged option (LB).
PvE they’re strong for open world (including new areas, where they’re great to explore IMHO) in raids you will be asked to play as tank (other classes will do more damage like Herald, PS Warrior will give constant Might stacks so your boons are not “that good”). In dungeons they’re great but nobody runs that anymore. In FotM it’s one of the best classes because it deals good damage and brings active defenses (blinds, blocks and reflects) for the whole party that are useful in high levels.
PvP wise you’re gonna have a good advantage against new players because of the spike damage of the traps, to say it in other words, it’s a cheese class that most seasoned player won’t a have a problem killing. I would say it’s good to use until Ruby league. It can be good for holding points but has no contest against some builds and intelligent/skilled gameplay.
Hey there. Those are many questions, I think DPS wise you can follow Obal’s guide (sticked on the forums)
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Guide-DPS-Guardian-for-PVE/first
And yes zerker is the way to go in PvE (Viper/Sinister is a good alternative but no LB).
GS as secondary weapon is good due to the DPS and synergies with LB (watch the dps rotation video on that guide). Now for open world would suggest to use GS and Retreat! Staff is not a good weapon unless you use it for lootstcik in some places like Orr mass events or WvW zerging.
For PvP check the current meta here (Marauder amulet, not zerker) http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Dragonhunter_-_Meditrapper
For the question you have about Spear of Justice (F1) current Meta in PvE uses a trait that makes you do more damage (10%) when you activate it but also it’s traited for burning more often and burning the area around your foes on passive. You’d have to activate it against bosses and mobs with large heaslth pools, for trash keep using passive.
In PvP use it to pull enemies with Hunter’s Verdict to your traps, otherwise keep on passive.
Hope this helps.

Only sustain against condi is to use head butt to get 5 conditions converted in boons. Swap Shattering Blow for Dolyak Signet, change To the Limit for Healing Signet and pick Signet Mastery in Arms for more “survivability”.
I like to play the one on the link, use to the limit as soon as you enter combat, Berserk and get as many bleed/burn/vulnerability stacks with sword F1. Finish with Impale and autoattack, swap to LB and fallback if they’re not dead, gain adrenaline and repeat.
Note: Not viable in sapphire rank and above. You’ll get farmed.
As someone said before, this is pure YOLO

Are any of you using these stats? I’ve been using the berserker stats for the most part, and I have just a bit of toughness for those places where it’s needed, but do any of you find a little vitality mixed in to be of benefit to you? I feel like it provides a little more margin for error (be it either because of lag, accidents, kitten moments, not anticipating something correctly, etc), but I’m not totally convinced on the investment yet.
Toughness= Counter direct damage.
Vitality= Counter conditions applied to you.
As mobs rarely apply conditions it’s not necessary. On the other hand, a lot of players in PvP apply conditions so extra Vitality is always welcome (thereby, current Meta build in PvP uses Marauder amulet).
“Chronomancer bunker ftw”
It’s always been like this. People complain about a class being OP until they find a way to fight it and then move to complain about the next one. DH is out of the spotlight and now Cronomancer Bunker is on it. My prediction is that after that, people will start complaining about Condition Revenant.
Smurfing was gonna happen and we all knew it when GW2 went F2P. Problem is that there’s no way to control it (ban IP to log from another account? don’t think so). I’d say let them play in low ranks so the new players in pvp can see for themselves that it takes more than copy/paste builds to win.
Since everyone is posting gifs I’m gonna leave this here so you can see the tactic you have to use when fighting against a mesmer coming out of stealth.

I concur. But I also think we should have options, I prefer the DPS aspect of the Guardian (I started playing it because of the knight concept I always play in games). Right now the profession is pigeon-holed to DH, base Guardian needs to be buffed up ASAP.
Easy fix. Weapon swap out of shield.
What if he plays Engi?
Guardian is OP strong 1 on 1, but not that strong in group fight.
Rev, chrono, tempest, druid are OP in both.
Scrapper is like guard but with better utilities and survival.Dont think I would say guard is op 1v1.
Strong vs some enemies but against skilled enemies it tends to have allot of problems.
Agreed, but not necessarily skilled. I play MM necro and have fun against DH (minions spring all the traps and then they’re fairly easy to kill) and I don’t consider myself skilled in PvP. New DH players tend to spam all traps on the same spot, new players (who complain about DH being OP) spring all the traps and keep standing in the same spot.
I’m sad when I read this because I’ve seen another game series I loved fail because of a bad direction, management and leadership. And yes, it was Diablo 3’s Jay Wilson.
Bigger dungeon rewards (ok, not 1 gold but at least 75 silver). Bunny ears and Wizard Hat… Oh and some attention to the Warrior Specialization would be appreciated too.
Guardian

That focus… Someone please cosplay Indiana Jones… Or a BDSM dominatrix
Hello, welcome to Tyria fist of all. My advice would be to set yourself short term, mid term and long term goals i.e.
Long term: Craft a legendary weapon (the dagger, Incinerator, is really cool)
Mid Term: Explore all Tyria for the gift of exploration (required for legendary crafting)
Short term: Explore all Shiverpeak maps this week.
You don’t like Legendary weapons/don’t care?
Long term: Acquire the Dungeoneer title (buy every item from the dungeon seller)
Mid term: Acquire the Dungeon Master title (finish all the dungeons available)
Short term: Finish the all paths from the Arah dungeon the next two days.
Other suggestions:
- Ascended Armor/weapon set
- PvP rank
- Get glorious armor set (PvP)
- Go for a specific look on your character
- Finish you personal story
- Unlock all your specialization traits
- Complete all HoT maps
- Join a Raid and successfully finish it
- Unlock and complete a specific Collection (recommended: Trash Collector that gets you the Honorary Skritt title)
- Would suggest til WvW is fixed before you go there and set a goal
You can make more than one at a time, so you don’t get bored. People say we don’ have end game but truth is we have a lot of options, I must have missed more than a few.
Hopes this helps:

There’s also a thread on the forum of mix and match armor sets (the best ones IMO) you can give it a try too.
^^ A red post!
You are so fried if you try to buy gold now from your “friend”. Banhammer is gonna hit so hard it will send you back to 1975 to play pong instead of GW2.
Who…me? I’m not the OP.
Yes, OP of course, not you ^^

Yep he touched you.
OMG XD
Guys
You get to stab Trahearne in the face, only because of that HoT rules hands down, it was something the community wanted really bad for a long time. It was like being able to shoot the duck from Duck Hunt
As an owner of Bolt and Rodgort I feel you. I think balance will come as right now most of the classes are pigeon-holed into specializations, core classes should become competitive at some point and I think sword will probably get the boost it deserves.
There are classes where sword is still viable… Try Mesmer/Chrono perhaps?
I don’t understand. What part of the game is “Pay to Win”? What items can I buy with cash that give me an absolute advantage over the rest of players who didn’t purchase it?
This thread isn’t about P2w. It’s about prestige and “effort to win”. Grinding is not about effort or intelligence, It’s about mindlessness. Hence the hatred towards grinding.
Yes. Also, please note that I said the game is migrating to a P2W model. Why? Original model (which we all loved) is based in equal opportunities for everyone (we all bought the game, could do the same things, be casual or hardcore didn’t matter that much). F2P and expansion implied differences between HoT buyers and non HoT buyers. In PvP, someone who doesn’t have access to specializations is having a hard time now because specs are Meta (here are the builds used in Pro League http://competitivegw2.blogspot.com.co/). Raids, naturally, use a lot of specs builds. Difference of opportunities, first and second class players is what I see now in GW2.
Farming isn’t fun at all; It’s mindless. I want to feel like I worked hard for things instead of sleeping at my keyboard to get things. Anet dropped the ball SO hard with F2p.
Anet thinks grinding for new op stuff is the way to provide content.
The change (read betrayal) to previous policy was too quick…game is full of emptyness now.
I remember sadly the first time I joined a CoF farm for Tyria masteries. I respect everyone’s choice of how to play a game but never before I’ve felt more like a mindless robot in my gaming life. It was sad. I know nobody asked me to do so and I’m not asking CoF farm to be addressed but, to me, that’s part of the new grindy things that make me not enjoy HoT at all, and it’s all over the game now.
Some psychologists say that repetition and compulsion are associated with self destruction, couldn’t agree more.
So, why tell you my life’s story, so to speak? What’s left to do? What keeps me playing? I don’t look at “end-game” or content I cant solo, I set mini-goals for myself, goals that are achievable in a reasonable amount of time and these can change depending on circumstances. I work on the stuff I can do rather than stewing about the stuff I can’t, the rest, such as non-soloible HPs will come with time.
That’s a good piece of advice. Might try to do that because only PvP can be boring, Think I might start doing my personal story for starters.
Yes another thread about the same topic. But I think we must get someone’s attention if we keep on posting the same on and on. Long story short:
- They nerf dungeon rewards to stop elitism but bring raids that are ten times more elitist than any dungeon run (at least in dungeons you could succeed after a lot of time with a mediocre group. Some of us liked to teach newbies to run dungeons, that’s not an option in raids).
- Goldsink, goldsink everywhere. Devs have to face that the economy won’t comeback as it once was and most people won’t be buying gems to convert to gold… Except a few special ones.
- New maps and Meta events are boring, fun of exploration and discovery is gone when you have to depend on a zerg and other people to succeed.
- Specializations are nice but it seems they’re just a buff to core classes, forcing players who chose not to buy HoT get it to be competitive.
Is the game migrating from its original, fresh and lovely business model to a PAY TO WIN model? The answer is yes, yes and yes.
What’s left to do? I won’t quit (don’t come here asking for my stuff) I log to do the PvP daily and I know that’s the sanctuary of a lot of veteran players. Not spending gold because since HoT it became more valuable than air. I f anyone has suggestions to get me into track I’ll be glad to hear them, I just can’t enjoy the game since the expansion came out.
You sound a bit suspicious to be honest. But no, unless as said above, you’re paying for your legendary and Anet will be able to prove such a thing.
What works in pro league doesn’t always work for the average player. Hate against current DH is, IMHO, a L2P issue from new players (lots for them coming since F2P) and people who are not seasoned in PvP. Stop walking through the traps.
I agree. The effects on Tomes were pretty stunning. Maybe they will get reworked for a future specialization, something along the lines of a Sage… Remember that April’s Fools class from D3? The Archivist?
Hello
Well I assume that you’re running the Meta build. In my experience, those builds get countered fast because everyone already knows what to do against them (in this case, heavy condi pressure because you only have staff #4 to remove them) so I made a few variations that work really good for me:
- Changed rune fo Strength for Hoelbrak (good for might, 20% less condi duration).
- Instead of Retribution I’m running Corruption (Replenishing Despair, Spontaneous Destruction and Maniacal Persistence/Pulsating Pestilence depending on mood or map)
- As I already have a good amount of incoming healing from Replenishing Despair, I switch Assassin’s Annihilation for Swift Termination (Extra DPS on low health foes).
Hope this helps, give it a try and tell me how it goes
Here you go
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Dragonhunter_-_Meditrapper
You can dodge traps. Now, if you get dazed you can always steal to counter or spam evades if you’re running a daredevil. Most DH use 3 traps (Test of Faith, Procession of Blades and Dragon Maw). Using Thieves Guild is a good way to spring traps.
