Ya flashing a bios can also fix this, the bios regulates the clock rates and fan settings for the card itself. Essentially could clock it lower or address the memory more efficient which would fix the artifacts.

If anyone does look up flashing bios on gfx cards. Please make sure the bios matches the card model, specs including gpu and memory brands. You don’t want to brick your graphics card use with caution and backup your original bios.

My card runs with the same clock rates as before I flashed it. Prior to flashing it, I did try to downclock, both memory and gpu. That did not solve things, only flashing it did.

And yes, for anyone having issues and want to try and flash your card, be sure you know what you’re doing. It’s simple, but things can still go wrong.

NO. I personally never use compact because I have certain order in my bags. I would love that compact selection would be lowest in the menu because sometimes I missclick and have to rearrange my inventory again.

Staff 5 is very good, asking for more is greedy.

I find that many times, in pve at least, mobs shoot their projectiles over the barrier, so that’s the reason I would like to have it stretch further up in the air. I don’t find that request ‘greedy’ at all.

Staff 4 should have bleed and cripple added to it.

Staff 5 needs a larger barrier (at the very least it should be higher), longer duration or shorter cd.

Staff in general could use some elements added to most of the skills.

Devs, could you please add a toggle-option under settings which would allow classes like druids to leave their form when pressing the weapon swap button?

For some reason I keep pressing this button automatically when I want to go out of the form, only to realise I need to press F5 (or whatever button you have bound to this).

It would be a small qol thing for people like me that instinctively go for the weapon-swap button first.

Druid AF

So apparently druid healing is a problem so they’re nerfing AF, no surprise, ranger after all.
But yet Tempest are allowed to run around healing and providing 100% protection up time while providing unique support through shouts and easier condi removal for the team.

I do not understand the balance here.

The one class the devs don’t want to see in the meta of top pvp.

While I would like to think that Druid wasn’t nerfed BECAUSE of its strong place in PvP, (and the many PvP forum complaints) it most likely was. It was too strong of a bunker, and Arenanet is actively nerfing bunker builds right now because they are less exciting for viewers to watch. I prefer playing a bunker in PvP (old Bunker Guard here), but as a whole, PvPers and viewers seem to want fast, exciting action and not skillful support/defense.

2 Simple silver bullet solution to the problem:

A: Change Celestial Avatar heals so they either no longer affect the caster or severely reduce their heals.

B: Create a massive penalty to being in CA mode such as taking double damage or double duration of hard CC’s.

Either would effectively remove the concept of a solo bunker while preserving the team heals aspect of the class. These would probably need to be pvp only effects to preserve the viability of Druids in raids but it would work.

I’m glad the devs dont come pick up ideas from this forum. Christ.

The less healing power you have, the more you will be able to enter CA and heal( and more than likely heal more because the majoirty of the healing is base).

This change is backwards. It works against people building for support.

Druid: Astral Force is no longer gained when healing a target that is already at full health

Let me state this, ranger before patch 20.11.2015 with buff on AF to gain it from every source, and nerfing staff 1 and 2, was acceptable, very viable and fun, we were able to support people and give them chance to survive, but now?

  • 1) This is support class, who do we support if we can’t build up AF in time with this change?
  • 2) What’s the purpose of limiting a ranger and denying him from using glyphs that are important in CA mode with this change?

Because reasons.

You can basically un-bug it for 95% of your use cases:

Go into your settings and check the box that resets your ground targets to max distance whenever you attempt to use them beyond their max range (“Lock ground targets at max range” under combat/movement section).

When you attempt to cast Staff3 at beyond max range and the game resets it to max range for you, you will not be put in combat.

For me, I am almost always wanting to go max range for traveling purposes, so this is just fine. For situations where I don’t want to go max range (combo in a field, or score a quick evade) I am already in combat anyway.

Anyway, hope this helps some of you.

Please start paying attention devs. It’s apparent that you guys are trying to fit in a healing role and not doing a great job at it. Start putting some trust in people like me who have played support roles for over a decade.

I wonder if an energy system (gw1/revenant) would be better, with no restrictions going in/out of the form? Two of the druid traits would have to be reworked ofcourse.

The devs obvioulsy does not have a clear vision of how druid mechanics are going to work, and until they set that in stone, it will be impossible to balance the spec. Right now, they’re trying out different things to see how things will pan out.

Yeah, druid is still in beta stage, we’ll have to deal with that for the next few weeks/months it seems.

I like druid pretty much as it is today (well, with the exception of the latest nerf to CA gain). With some adjustments to CA #1 and #2, reduce the delay of seed of life (for glyphs as well), I think druid is just fine. Staff needs some love, but the weapon is not necessary to run druid so I’ll leave that out.

They only need to figure out how going in and out of CA should work. So far, they’ve not managed to find a good spot for it.
What I don’t like are the suggestions from some of the more hardcore pure healers out there, that for some reason feel it’s ok to make it even more difficult to go into the avatar form for non dedicated/hybrid healers/builds, just because it wouldn’t matter to them. That’s the kind of things that annoys me the most when it comes to druid talks within this community.

The name of the game around here is to leave game breaking things that hurts us in game for months, even years. Anything that benefits us gets nerfed/fixed within 24 hours. It’s always been like that, and it will continue to be like that.

Edit: In raids my team lets me know if there low and they can’t recover. They don’t expect me to heal them every single time they take damage. They just state it when its something they can’t handle. Same for when Im PvPing with a team. If there being locked down then I help them. But if they can handle it they let me know when they break free so I don’t waste astral force when I don’t need to. And it works MUCH better that way.

That’s good and all if you’re sitting in an organized group/team with voicecom. Now go out and try the same thing with a pug with no other ways of communicating than through ingame chat and trying to keep track of things visually only.

A druid is supposed to seriously question whether or not to press f5. Not press it the second someone takes a bit of damage because they know they can get it back.

There’s a flaw in your thinking, and that is that in this game, you’re dead within a second if you don’t react to things NOW. You can’t sit around waiting to see if “maybe this guy will recover by himself or through the help of someone else, so I get to keep my heals for another time” – it doesn’t work that way.

I was gonna post something similar, but yeah, Just scrap astral force generation, and make it either a static cooldown reduction, or heck, even let us go in to the form at will, but drastically reduce the healing values to compensate (although this would make staff kind of useless and redundant).

This, right here, is a terribad suggestion, and I mean really, really bad. Don’t ever post something like that again and give them even more stupid ideas.

So now they forced rangers to be self destructive and hurt themselves by jumping off of cliffs, walking into poison fields and whatnot, promoting zerker gear yet again so that you take more damage.

You don’t need to trait for the elite spirit at all imho, unless you find that the raid lacks stability and that pulsing stability is crucial (shouldn’t be). I’d say that if you want to use the trait, you should be using it because of the other spirits.

The elite glyph is for burst heals. It all depends on the encounter, you can’t really say one is better than the other.

Afaik, this was never an intended mechanic at all. If I’m right in that, crying about nerfing an exploit feels more than silly, especially since druids got an incredible boost to AF regen this last patch.

That said, I wouldn’t mind if they go ahead and change this so that it would actually be possible to target allies with the beam .

Somethings gonna get hotfixed, and soon…

It is a matter of choice:
full condi cleanse, stun breaker (instead of healing allies when you use a heal skill or staff reduced CD + daze)
3 seconds of stealth and superspeed (instead of perma swiftness or glyph CD reduction + seed on glyph)

For a “selfish” PvP build is may be good, but for a support build it doesn’t even matter much.

Well yeah I was thinking in terms of pvp primarily, and that’s also the reason for the upcoming nerfs, which will come after this patch, one way or another.

SotW likely won’t stay because of how quickly it charges (both the pet and the ranger likely tick it twice) but given how strong regen will be (have you tried traited Healing Spring – the duration is insane!) it likely won’t matter.

I hope it stays, but they are going to have to tone it down a lot OR consider it an alternate source of regen, and not let them both stack like they currently do.

This is my biggest issue. They probably wanted to make Staff less important by removing its ability to generate AF out of combat, but all they have done is made TU even more crucial.

Depending on build, AF is not an issue now. It charges up so fast, with a bit of regen and possibly other sources, the only thing you’ll be waiting for is the 10 second cd. Enjoy it while it lasts. Druid Clarity and Celestial Shadow says hi…

Lol! I never even used Solar beam without a hostile target in the first place. Guess I’m just bad at finding ‘exploits’, since afaik it was never meant to be able to shoot it without a target, or rather, it was never meant to be able to point the beam at friendlies only to charge up AF.

As noted in the OP, Sig of the Wild builds AF whilst at full health, so it’s basically perma +3% AF a second just by having it on your bar.

Sounds like something that will be hotfixed within 24 hours, I can’t imagine they’re going to leave that in?

Versatile Druid Build?

Hybrids never had a real place in any game or any content ever.

That may be more or less accurate for other games when it comes to raiding, bosses that require a minimum of dps and healing done in order to beat the encounter. I wonder if that’s the road Anet will go down though?

Another thing to take into consideration, do you think druids will be required to pump out heals more or less nonstop? If not, one could argue that the huge amount of healing power and the very low damage potential from a pure, maxed out healing build could also be a ‘burden’ to the raid.

You won’t be able to heal everyone by yourself – forcing yet another player into defensive stats – making team DPS lower. And so on.

Tragic, on what do you base this? The chosen skills? The chosen traits? The amount of healing power? Or anything else?
