I would rather have a change to a useful weapon, not the 5th change to LB just to find out it is still meh.

Our AoE is not poor. It is ok. Not amazing. Not game breaking. Not good. Just ok.

I did it 5 times and raged so hard. Was going to come here and be mad. I couldn’t understand how you hit so hard. Then realized I kept taking squeamish… yeah…. it works out well now. Thanks for the vid!

I have built 40 omegas and destroyed a map for a laugh. I have built 50 alphas and forgot about the 2nd oil on EB red keep gate and watched them melt. It was funny.

If you feel mad/sad because someone took your WvW objective, I have bad news. You over value your time spent in a game. Your time isn’t worth anything to anyone but you. Get over it.

Wrecking people in spvp means I get told that Shotbow is OP and needs nerfed. Alllllll the time. Usually only have an issue with HamBow if they are decent.

I will log on and sell a servers movements for 20g/hour. Who wants to buy my services!?!?! lol

Mesmer has issues with out of combat mobility

This is where I disagree.
The “default” runspeed is the default for a reason. All issues of out-of-combat speed balance should be based around the base runspeed.

This used to be fine, back when it was one class with a +25% speed effect, one with easy perma-swiftness and a few with +10%.

Then they buffed everyone, and now it’s 2 classes which need a specific weapon for their runspeed, the rest gets either 25% or 33% permanently from some utility or trait slot.
But that is exactly the problem, not our lack of +25% speed.

If on the other hand, you think base runspeed is simply too slow (hence why you need that 25%) then that ought to be fixed. Then increase the base boost to runspeed everyone gets out of combat by 25%, but then make it non-stacking with any other effect so everyone is at the same speed.

The base run speed is the same for every class. But 6 of them can choose to sacrifice a trait/utility to be faster.

Adding 1 trait to mesmer or taking away trait/utility skills from 6 classes. Each one would make it “even”. Which sounds more feasible from a business/time constraint standpoint?

When the majority of classes are faster, it doesn’t make them too fast, it makes mesmer too slow because the only option is a 6 rune set.

There has never been an impressive LB video posted by anyone yet. There was one player (can’t remember the name) that did a decent LB/SB video, but 70% of the fights were done with SB out.

But quick question, you kite players for days on your ranger but you are in the process of getting gear? Must be really good and look forward to seeing it in action.

I have never once lost a 1v1 to a LB ranger. I am always looking for first time experiences. All of this talk of amazing LB skills, I just want to see it. Not standing elevated and blasting players who are attacking others. Not saying I will not die, just saying it has yet to happen.

lb is great in a 1v1…. one of our best weapons imo, i mean, i main lb, but i don’t see why you would choose sb over it, other than in a pure condi build, lb is a beast if u use it correctly

The TP is a player offering their goods/services to you for my goods/services. My time spent gathering gold is a service/product. Your T6 is a product/service for the time spent farming it. The person who bought your T6 for 10s and sold it to me for 25s is offering a service to me. Now I don’t have to wait for the order to be filled. You don’t have to wait for the order to sell. It doesn’t matter why you sold it for 10s to him, instead of 25s to me. The TP gives you a top buy and top sell order, which are all the tools you need to sell it to me for 25s. Lazyness is the key factor here.

This whole thread is a “I don’t know how to flip on the TP, so no one else should be able to!!!!” and it is a good read.

As a Rabid trap roamer (SB Sword/Torch or Dagger) The only class I consistently have a problem beating in a 1v1 is a good hambow warrior. Necro on occasion, but with SoR it becomes a non issue. PU mes are just annoying. D/P thief…. meh….. 96% of thieves are pure garbage, if I have my traps down before he attacks, I win, if not, could go either way.

About a year ago, I was commanding EB. We were green. A group of about 30 Blue attacked Jerrifers. They built like 5 sup catas, on the side close to golanta and cata the wall for 3 mins before they realized that wall couldn’t be destroyed.

Didn’t even have the heart to go wipe them.

Over 1 min intro of you walking in a PvE zone. Turned it off after that.

C- for trying.

Make axe auto attack frontal cleave at 600 range like guardian staff. Since the auto hits like kitten, it will be ok. Happy panda necro when this happens.

Not many classes can run a power based build in roaming. A ranger isn’t one of these classes because Long Bow is just that bad. Condi is king in smaller pvp for rangers.

Only thing I can say is the drakehound immobilize > any bird by far for roaming.

If you can make it work picking off zerglings that got lost, good for you. Never have to look for fights as a ranger at least. I look forward to seeing a video or 2 if you do that sort of thing.

Try to get a few even and/or outnumbered fights against not so slow in the head zerglings that got lost.

I know you can’t dictate the fights you get, but you can dictate what you show us. 1 or 2 fights where impressive/entertaining out of 2 videos. Impress me. Don’t press 3 buttons then port to someone for the burst. You might as well have use slow motion, used dubstep and zoomed on the crits.

a baseline 6 second burn on a 15 second (12 traited) cool down. Why on earth would someone complain about that….

Going to give this a try tonight, with a few minor modifications. Will see how it goes. Usually play a more aggressive, selfish trap build over a spirit ranger. Will post some results, not sure if I will enjoy it.

I’ll pass on poison master, I tried it, I didn’t feel it helped keep poison up, I had enough already. Sure, PM isn’t terrible, but if you need extra poison while having a S/D offset… you have perma poison with just dagger 4 when you take the CD trait. Hell, I feel like I have enough poison and I run torch, if I need more, poison trap.

I Earth/Geo for both weapon sets as I swap alot more in sPvP and when I swap, I am in melee. And, for the love of all that is holy run a drakehound and not a bird. The immo F2 is too good. Fear, swap, immo outside the circle. Their back is to you because of the fear, more SB bleeds, almost 5 second soft CC, toss a spike trap for another immo and add in another 2 secs as your hound pounces the enemy. Just pray it isn’t a necro with 1/2 a brain and staff 4 up.

I suggest running a venom share build of some sort, otherwise pick a different class to lead on. I generally hop on a heavier class when leading my havoc squad, but I’ve used a venom share build in the past with dire gear and it worked very well.

Necros are considered heavy, but a team build like venom share would be best for a smaller group.

I murder people in 1v1s all the time in WvW. My ranger is my go to roaming class but I don’t even own a longbow.

Everyone runs at rangers to get free kills, so I never have to look for fight and it is rewarding when you kill people.

Rangers need help in larger groups imo, but just fine for smaller. A strong condi bunker class with soft CC.

I don’t think you have seen the functionality of an actual gw2 bot. I hate bots, but it is impressive.

Mesmers need more AoE. Rangers are fine for AoE.

But…. I like to roam on my ranger. People see other classes and avoid them sometimes. Everyone runs at the ranger thinking free kill. It takes lots of the work out of finding fights.

The build I run when roaming. Except I use torch instead of WH. Can be fun.

I would guess that less than 5k people play in sPvP each day (Average over the past 6 months). I hardly see how this argument is relevant.

Wish I saw more S/D in WvW. Free kills. S/D is hard to master and 89% of the thief class players are bad to begin with.

Since the OP stated WvW, the only reason you should lose a 1v1 is to a bursting class surprising you when you have 0 DS pool, you kitten on a PU mesmer or meet a good Diamond Skin ele. That is a 1 in 100,000 chance anyways. Although, fighting a mirror match with another necro is always funny.

Condi are not OP. The rate at which they can be applied compared to the rate they can be removed is way off (to a lesser extent the duration). That is a balance nightmare though. In small groups, condi do work. The larger the group, the less effective they become.

More TP bots than there are right now.

Guardians are in a good spot.

The best? Nope. The worst? lol pls go. Top 3? Yes.

Warrior is just a bit over the top imo and that makes some of you feel inferior. I am sorry about that.

Healing power is great and all (I love min/maxing builds), but unless you’re using Magi’s gear to get it, the low health won’t do anyone any good :/

Low vitality, high toughness builds actually benefit a lot more from healing power due to being able to restore a greater percentage of their health with each heal. As such, they can be better for sustained combat.

That isn’t true at all… Damage isn’t done in % of your health. A 5k heal when u have 10k health is no better than a 5k heal when you have 20k health.

The only place it is true is keeping your health above a certain % for a benefit, like Ele Diamond Skin.

My necro life blast hits for 9k on naked people.

This new GM trait should be part of piercing arrows, or just a general improvement to ranger’s LB abilities. Having it as a stand alone means it’s not going to be used.

No. The trait shouldn’t help only 1 small aspect of the class. Longbow. The guards don’t get 3000 HP when they only have a shield out.

It should help the class as a whole, not 1 tiny part of it. I don’t use a longbow. Ever. This trait is pointless to me.
