Can’t edit but loving being able to see the tops of hills. The art team must have been gutted with the original FoV and rightly so!

roqoco, lets be honest. If you were Polish and from Krakow, you could make a guild called Krakow’s Killer Klowns [KKK] as a fun homage to that 80’s film ‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space’ and your country. I think the person whinging about racism is without a doubt American.

I’ll be honest I only know about the KKK from watching American films.

Happened in GW1 a lot. You’d get new build, you’d logout to install, log back in and 5 mins later “New Build……!” Aaargh!

Usually meant things being added or changed, prime example is just before Wintersday the game would say “New Build…!” logout then login and all the holiday themes would replace main towns layout!

Omega, I said it on another thread but tbh, if botters want to bot, they shall. If people who couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo in fps need to use aimbots they shall. We can only hope Anet keeps on top of it but botting, hacking yadda yadda is in no way only happening in GW2.

After all my moaning and whining about the game I’m on Anets side with this one. it gets out of control in so many games these days!

As for the racists thing, I think most people with KKK or Guilds with the N word etc. are probably just kids trying to be funny, cool and outlandish (look at me!). I can’t imagine a moronic KKK leader thinking “I know how I’ll spread my racist stupidity, through GW2!”

If you have Borderlands 2 you can see the difference FoV has with the slider. I showed my brother it at max FoV which thankfully has no fish eye on my tv. Then I put the slider to the minimum (which I think is the FoV on the console version, 70 degrees). He didn’t puke but said it looked like garbage and too wierd by comparison. Once you see FoV before and after and realise what it’s doing, games with low FoV can be excruciating.

I never feel sick but when I play games with low FoV then edit an ini etc. to give it a more natural one, I feel the back of my eyes physically relaxing.

Legendaries requirements are funny, people want carrots so Anet painted one on the moon!

Red Falcon, so bots won’t be able to farm items into oblivion and reduce the value of your drops/collectables to almost nothing? I’m joining your server. No wait, the TP is global, doh! :P

I don’t think this problem is specific to GW2 though, I mean look at BF3! That game was ruined for so many honest gamers because of the scumbag hacks (and EA’s greed) like aimbots etc. We seem to live in an era where kids unwilling to get better and put time and effort into games and improve will instead use bots, hacks and aimbots. Sad state of affairs.

Yes Similar was in GW, but the road to these bosses was fun. Never hear anyone saying in GW that the dungeons were boring en-route to boss.

Alas we have a different fanbase now. Peeps with TDKR posters allover their walls, ah well, I got 5 years out of GW. Thats good!

In GW when I joined a Guild it mattered. In GW2 I can join many and now it’s like adding imdb to my favourite websites. Whats the point?

I bought it because a long time ago in a galaxy far far…I mean Once upon a time, I played GW, it was the best mmorpg (argueable if it was a mmorpg) that I’d ever played. The depth with which you could forge your toon with skills and in some cases reputation (titles! In GW, people could actually see your titles easy, why change that?) was phenomenal.

Ps. I don’t mean to show off titles for the sake of saying, “Hey, I’m the King, all bow before me!” But new players in GW would see they titles and could ask those seasoned title holders for help. They’d say “Cool title!” and we’d be hooked

How will they do this in GW2?

I waited with bated breath for GW2. It was a good game for the first 3-4 weeks (bugs included) but the severe lack of skills for which I was hoping was just due to beta limitations is horrible (Anet playing it too safe with balance~?)

The game seems to have done a BF3, trying to appeal to a wider audience and ignoring what made the original great (imho).

It was really amazing in the first 2 weeks though because of so many gamers on and I’ll never forget it

Maybe Anet could add the ‘Do Not Disturb’ option we had in GW (afaik it’s not in GW2). I always assumed people using that were doing something hard like the Underworld naked etc.

Phixion I think it’s possibly to lower minimum required spec’s and appeal to more people? Afaik consoles games have lower FoV because there is less on screen so better performance on those antiques.

I can’t imagine the dev’s looked at GW and thought “You know what this game needs to improve it, tunnel vision!”

Would be nice, I loved being able to see my ring in Skyrim. Just a shame my character was such an idiot that she didn’t know she had 7 other fingers that were ringable :S

Honestly, if it was my first ever it would blow me away. Instead my first was bloody Flyff, wish I could get back my time and wasted cash shop money

Maybe bring back snowball fights for Norn, dodgeball (with spiked balls) game for the Charr kitties. Sylvari gardening minigame sounds fun, not.

I don’t have the words for how much I absolutely hated Polymock in GW. I’d rather eat a jellyfish than play it again unless it’s been given a serious overhaul.

You use the same weapon skills at level 3 that you use at 80. If you don’t like the weapon skills on a weapon then it becomes obsolete.

I’d like to use staffs but hate the skills on them. Warhorns too, hate the skills so never going to use.

I think we need more weapon skills or the ability to play around with them or something. I don’t want to keep harping on about GW1 but imagine in that game using your starting skills for the whole game. There is having everyone on the same page (no creativity with skills or overpowered builds) and then there is downright “whats the point of continuing? I’m only a clone.”

Would it matter? I mean in GW (I’m from the UK) I played on the US servers along with most of the globe. I kind of had two clocks, real life clock and my GW one. After 8pm UK time was party hour for my GW clock because all the Americans/Canadians got on and the chat would explode

I cared how people percieved my toon in GW, I don’t in GW2. Sure the legendaries are hard to get (for people with lives) but I don’t even get the ‘I must have them’ feeling that I got with Chaos Gloves etc. in GW1

I think it’s probably because legendaries are just one hoop too many to jump through for me. In GW I could slowly save up for what I wanted, in this game I need to sit, fetch, rollover, downboy too much.

I’m sure I’m a minority. Played GW for 5 year (Jade Quarry also got the “It’s not pvp, it is pvp!” treatment.

Can I sacrifice my 50/50 HoM goodies (on all toons) and not have to do WvW if I do?

If not how about giving us a fps version of GW2 so we can decimate? You force us to play pvp, ok, give us a first person shooter version, I’ll happily pop heads if you do! No, no crosshairs?

To sum it up, I lLOVED playing dungeons in GW but it seems that in GW2, I don’t. My lack of detailed info. is on par with….you know what…nvm!

They asked me how I got to 80. I just logged out after that (I could’ve told them how I strategically optimised my builds with my heroes in GW’s but I think they were already focussing on GW2 and the only answer they wanted was “Lol!” , dungeons not something I gonna be trying much more of. I’ll play other games with crosshairs where skill and not spam is a factor.

I just report then delete, takes all of 5 seconds. The hardest part is picking to report for scamming or spamming

I’ll tell you one that you didn’t include and was my biggest bane for saving money in GW’s. Don’t spend it! Lol sounds simple but everytime I’d get a bit of cash in GW’s I’d buy a mini, a weapon for my heroes etc. etc. that I didn’t need.

I’ve noticed they fixed loads of the DE and my frame rate has gone up in some areas. I’m hoping they next fix the bug where I don’t have a Legendary Weapon in my inventory :P

I heard magic find was tested by people having very high magic find and it was found to be almost useless.

The Necro/Sylvari ones are less effective than my normal skills and have 10x the cooldown, I fail to see whats elite about them? I use ‘Take Root’ since there are 5 turrents and sometimes one escapes the enemy aoe, ulnlike the dopey druid spirit (useless waste of 30 skill points). In Lich form I always seem to die faster for some reason. Plague when I’m in the water, does it actually do anything other than make a sound every second and increase my hp, monsters take much longer to kill in plague mode giving me almost no reason to use it

Elite skills have the wrong name in this game, they should be called ‘Mediocre Skill Point Sink Skills’. When your normal skills outplay the elites in every way, something is surely wrong.

If every drop you got boosted ‘you’ wouldn’t that remove the rarity of items and the “Yay!” factor when you got a good one?

Maybe you should try Torchlight 2, the only thing I find annoying in that game is the sheer volume of drops. It’s almost like a minigame managing your drops.

If they introduce first person they’ll surely have to also up the fov, so I hope they do.

Elona, if that was redone with how good Tyria looks (minus the Risen). Can I pre-order now?

Look at Battlefield 3! They get patches quarterly, be thankful for anything less.

Would you rather they patch things asap that could possibly make the game worse or that they test the patches out first?

I’d have to say Borderlands 2 for my GotY, GW2 would take it once they iron out all the bugs but BL2 is outstanding (as is TL2 but too addicted to BL2 atm). 1st ps (UT2004 rpg servers) are what got me into rpg’s in the first place so. If I hadn’t played Ut2004 rpg I wouldn’t have bought GW in the first place so my heart lies with first person rpg types

Ps. Eochaidh, you found Skyrim underwhelming? After I modded it, it was a stunning game, if I could pick 5 games recently released that are deservant of praise it would be…

Worst: Low FoV that doesn’t let us see them in all their glory!

My only beef is the lack of valid elite skills, a lot of the time I forget I have one courtesy of the super slow reacharge times. I’d love it if they gave us more in an expansion or something, I demand Spiteful Spirit, or even Insidious Parasite as an extra Necro heal skill

Just wanna say thanks, for whatever you guys did. When I first played it, it was almost like a slideshow, now it’s smooth as butter.

I think it would be fun if they allowed you to mount the Moa’s in the game for a temp. mount, especially if they were hard to control, would be funny seeing players on them and gave the mounter voices like “WhoaaaH birdy!” while they ran past you trying to make them run in a straight line

I love running through towns and players fall, splat and die right in front of me (PoI I guess), always makes me chuckle.

I see the knobs spamming afk when nothing there to be spammed at. If Anet employed active bot terminators we’d see a decrease.
