Full refund for snowflake exploiters?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

There’s been several reports of players being given a full refund for the game and the gems they purchased as a result of being banned for the snowflake exploit.

Is everyone banned from this eligible for a refund or only certain people?

Cat look at it this way, players who didn’t attend the one time event got a chest. You could probably get a full refund if you told those in charge that you like cheese. Be sure to volley logic out the window!

because you can only target legs on dragons silly.

Noob, it’s toes or bust :P

I loved fighting the Dragons in Skyrim but I think the multiplayer version would be a nightmare to do. Besides it won’t even be worth it, you could spend 1 hour killing a flying dragon and all you’d get would be some whites and if lucky a blue or green = waste of time, GW2 is excelling at that atm. When dragons are unrewarding you know it’s broken

Because the game is only called Guild Wars 2. Christ thats like expecting SSX Tricky games to have snowboards instead of wingsuit crap, get over it :P

Seriously though, I miss Guild announces that they doing things like Alliance Battles where anyone could go. My Guild are a good bunch but dungeons suck imho, with that, I won’t bother. No point

Between the kittenty drop rates and the lack of social aspects unless you have a good Guild, I’m curious about what GW2 is trying to be?

I added more people to my friends list in Spamadan in 3 months than I have in my entire GW2 experience (just a generalisation)

Also to Ursan, Southsun Cove is hardly a new zone. I mean really. I haven’t found one reason to even visit that place.

“…………Er. Still doesn’t change the fact that they have added new zones (fact) and are adding in new zones, and from everything they are saying, will continue to do so in the future.”

I can’t wait to read about the next zones fiasco because I sure as hell won’t be playing it. Bet they’ll even ban new players who manage to get 3 copper from mining nodes in the new zone. Hackers, they should have gotten gloppy goo or hooves from those nodes!

2. Where is the Guild in “Guild Wars”?

I remember back in GW1 my Guild (still same one I’m in in GW2) would have parties in the Guild Hall and set up dungeon runs, Alliance Battles etc. etc. This game (GW2) has been aimed at the me, me, me generation. So many good people have left

1) Is the population decent? I’ve heard way too many mixed things on different forums and games
2) How is PvP? I keep hearing something called “sPvP” is dead and I’m all about the PvP in games, especially loved GW1!
3) I’ve heard a stupid amount of bad and good reviews for this game, can any actual players give their quick opinion about it?
4) And lastly, endgame, mind-numbing or okay?

1 = You will hear “Areas are full” to “Dead” – Saddle up and decide for yourself!

2 = Never Tried it – I only do Pvp when crosshairs are involved.

3 = It’s not GW1, it kept me interested for hundreds of hours though. By comparison GW1 kept me interested for several thousand.

4 = Mind Numbing – Imho – brings me back to not being GW1. Dungeons were fun back then (in GW1). Now, I wouldn’t even touch them with ‘your’ barge pole.

4.5 = Jumping puzzles, map completion etc. etc.

Since we are/were playing the game, we all agreed to the user agreement section 11 (i):
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-user-agreement/

“You understand that You have no fundamental right whatsoever to use the Game, and that You understand that NCsoft may in its sole and absolute discretion terminate Your ability to access or use the Game for any reason or for no reason whatsoever as detailed above under Section 3;”

But ofc, nobody ever reads that and then whines about getting banned.

So far I’m at about £80 spent on Steam these holidays but zilch on GW2, there is no point at all in buying slots to create one of each profession/race which was my plan because I will outlevel my weapons faster than they drop to keep up with the monsters levels making the game a chore. I’ve only logged in to wish my Guildies a Happy Christmas and Merry New Year lately.

One does not simply acquire loot in Tyria.

Indeed, one must simply record loot drops pre-15th and also since and make comparisons because thats what the game is all about. If you haven’t been keeping a record of your drops since day one, “I pity the life you’ve wasted!” (Tannis quote from BL2).

Keeping a loot record is absurd. I pity you for playing such a horrible and tasteless rather generic as well as unsophisticated game, “Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.” ~Mark Twain.

Question to Guild Wars 1 players

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Paul.4081

Paul.4081

Lack of skills, lack of secondary profession to at least let us beef up the amount of skills we have as our main ones, lack of useful Elite skills, lack of elite skills to capture.

Lack of creativity with Veterans/Champions with zero personality, they are just nameless pointless monsters to be avoided thanks to the effort-reward ratio.

No Titles unless you actually click on a character, why have titles at all?

Clicking on other players is paramount with the click system as opposed to having clicking on monsters as top priority, why in the open world while fighting a boss should/would I be clicking other players if there are no dedicated healers? At best clicking on other players should be disabled and ties in to the other point of having titles displayed under/above at all times. Then when you hit 1 out of the inability to actually target the boss thanks to other players you targe a minion and don’t get credit for the bosses demise.

Crapgame. I don’t use ambient occlusion myself but even that GW2 is CPU bound it’s not utilising all my processors.

I think They’ve tried to cater for loads of cpu’s and something went wrong. I’ve heard Guildies with lesser PC components than me running this game maxed without issues. At least thats what they claimed.

Steb, I’m assuming you are the same person who’s thread I read on the forums (now Ge-Force instead of Nvidia or something).

I agree with you 100%. Isn’t this game CPU based though? That will be out of Nvidia’s hands. Although that said Nvidia have had ambient occlusion updates for GW2 but every time = vanishing hills so the QA = bit rubbish. But again it brings us back to cpu bound.

It would be nice to know what the deal is from an Anet insider, if it’s because the game is CPU bound.

I think if Nvidia could help they would but atm it doesn’t seem like they can help. I was in LA the other day and my brother laughed at my low fps, not because he’s mean but because he’s seen other games (better graphically) running on my comp. and was a bit baffled.

Is it hard to change a game from CPU intensive to GPU? Or add an option to choose?

Annoying thing is the game isn’t even fully utilising my processors if it is CPU bound. I open task manager and it seems that my resources are being ignored or bottlenecked by something? But only in this game.

Oh and for the record, for a couple of days a while ago my processor fan would go bananas when I played GW2, as soon as I exited GW2 it went away (limited to 60 fps so not like Dead Island). This leads me to believe that the way the processor is being used is just wrong and needs an update. Never bsod, never reset but just my fan going bananas and only with GW2. Still using same fan since then and no other problems so they must have patched it.

I just hope this is helpful to Anet in some way.

But Anet claimed it was supposed to be or was it Ascended items they were babbling about? If ascended were supposed to be in since launch, why weren’t they in the beta and have reduced stats on Legendaries when they were planning on introducing Ascended only to have Anet beef up stats on Legendaries for their introduction (ascended)? Why throughout years of development claim that exotics are………why…why…why…We know now!

Guild Halls to me were a place to meet up with some of the big cheeses and rub shoulders with them. In GW2, with multiple guild representation, how will that work?

Just because the system is there doesn’t mean everyone uses it. I’m in one guild with no plan to join any others at the moment.

Same here, I’ve been in mine since GW1 but the goalposts have been moved.

Maybe they should replace the current multi Guild system with the Alliance one that worked so well in GW1.

That way even small Guilds will have a chance at being, they can all pull together to form a tight Alliance. As it stands atm your either in a big Guild or in one with freinds, apart from that your chances of raising a Guild are low to bust.

There are large amounts of endgame in GW2.
If you are a PvE player you can play any of the (at this point 40+?) dungeons or dynamic events around the world, along with completing the story, exploring all the world (map completion) or digging the rare skins.
As a PvP player you can do World vs World if you are more of a RvR type or sPvP if you are an arena type.

I have 800 hours in and still very satisfied, hope you have fun too.

40 dungeons huh, wish I was playing your version of GW2 lmao then again your sig has fanboy written all over it so I shouldn’t be surprised having multiple paths in a dungeon does not make it an entirely new dungeon lol.

There are 9 dungeons in total I do believe.

I was thinking about this vocally in LA tonight (got reported by a racist for being one for my trouble. Kids). I miss doing dungeons in the GW1 way. Going to the Eye of the North outpost where there would always be players lfg for HotS. Or when Zaishen Bosses were up us helpy helpersons could go help the newbies while helping them build their heroes then come back and do them in Hard Mode with Guildies.

I’m having trouble staying logged in because even the Wintersday things. As fun as they are have zero longevity. No promise of a mini bear, etc. etc. My bank has quickly filled up with garbage and most of it I have no use for but keeping it just incase. I don’t understand what the issue is. People are running into DR. DR exists. Why do we need proof of it?

I think they need to look like they care, keep some players busy collecting stats. That is the ultimate grind where gaming becomes an unpaid job.

They’re not forcing people to do it, they’re asking people to collect stats because people think their loot drops are bugged. ANet doesn’t seem to think that loot drops are bugged at all, so they’re asking the players who are running into those issues to document them.

No but they are forcing players to do it. As far as Anet care they don’t see a problem and want players to submit info.

Do you think the players running into this issue wanted this to be the game they bought, submitting stats? It’s Anet’s job to make the game fun, not ours.

I dont believe that for a second. I dont even think they even bother to discuss it at all because it is of no consequence to them and they dont care about us gamers. Especially those that are struggling because of what they have done.
20+ pages and cant even say hi is ignorant and degrading to those that care and are effected by this. That is why I think this is ignored plain and simple.
Just how I see it.
No I dont believe they read the forums every day at all.

This is probably the sad truth. I uninstalled the game because of this but I really like the game as it was at release and want it to be better so I re-installed for the Dungeonsday event. But now my Alt. Ranger is level 19 and STILL hasn’t had any drops of armour/weapons since level 8 (outwith story rewards). This is clearly either a method of torture devised by Anet or it’s simply broken. What is the point of having changeable armour/weapons when you never get any?

My level 19 Ranger using level 6-8 weapons is tragic. Sure I could buy some from the TP but if I was a new player I probably wouldn’t really use the TP and think the game was too Ebinezer Scrooge with the drops and go play something less miserly with the drops. Besides it’s got to the point now where I’m trying to see how high I can go before getting a weapon drop for him. If I make 80 I demand an achievement

Low drop rates = Less customisation of our toons, less profit to help us save for things we’d like to purchase, less FUN! Tell me one person who wootied when they got their 19504th globby goo.

If there is a positive side to this abysmal drop rate I’d like to hear what it is.
