Title says it all probably but it happened tonight on the Tixx quest. My left click option was disabled, I could click on my skills but not target enemies by double clicking them. It seems to happen more and more.
Also my Ele. heal skill, the one that grants might, swiftness etc. seems to only grant might and not the other boons that are on the description of the skill. I’m not too savvy on Ele’s (my alt.) but I’m sure I used to run faster when I used that skill.
Oh man, my main is a Necro, guess all those bugs really are having an effect on players decisions to play them. Now Anet has beefed up Necro underwater combat, watch those numbers rise
I wonder how much it costs to bribe GameSpot..
Rent some advert space and every game you create is a 9-10 star dazzler
I think the GotY is voted by actual players though. I pay no attention to most game sites reviews now because they are not to be trusted. I just go straight to user reviews and as with IMDB I ignore the 9-10 star ones.

I’ve heard people talk about disconnection issues when speaking of FOTM etc. I myself have never had a problem with disconnecting. However, tonight I have DC’d 4 times in the last hour. What’s the deal? Prior to this most recent update I had not dc’d even once from guild wars 2. EVER. (aside from idle time limits)
I think I can safely say the problem is not on your end.
Is this really working at intended, is this the kind of grind that is expected of the player base? Do you, Anet, really think this drop rate is “fair”?
Anet are gone, you should be asking Nexon/NCSoft and they don’t give a kittycat unless you use the cash shop

I just got an exotics from the chest in tixx dungeon O.o
And overall better loot.
Did they restart the server for the patch today?Hopefully I’ve escaped boogeyman’s radar. ^^
Theres no escaping the radar, now you have taken that exotic you have been tagged by Anet as an over achiever and your drop rates must be lowered to the gutter to balance the game out. Surely you see this as fair though because you almost brought the price of pre-cursors down by 2 copper. Can’t have that :P
After the last patch of course it’s Engineers, everyone wants to play them now. Anet took the least played profession and really turned it around
(edited by Paul.4081)
Congrats to Anet, if it was based on the game when it first came out I would have given it GotY too but as the game is at the moment, not so much.
(edited by Paul.4081)
If you really have a problem with this… Stop playing.
Nothign else will ever deliver a message. Every one of you that still plays is only telling them “we’re suckers and we’ll put up with it, as long as it’s not too long and not too thick, and you give us a kiss afterwards”.
I uninstalled today, no point torturing myself anymore. I was going to hold on till after Wintersday but I might get wrapped up in that and forget how much of a shell the game has become. The back to reality comedown would be harder then so I’m cutting my losses now (pity I hadn’t done this a week ago before I bought a character slot and makeover ).
I’ll no doubt keep checking this thread for a glimmer of hope but I’ve a feeling these junk drops are here to stay.
I’ve put the game on hold atm, they have changed the drop rates drastically so that 80% are what the merchants in game call ‘junk’ the rest are mats with an occasional blue (if you’re lucky). No fun at all killing monsters for ages for junk.
I’m waiting for a reply from Anet in one of the two threads concerning loot to know how long before a fix or if this is intentional so I can uninstall and move on.
Ahhh Skyrim… Great great game that.
I’d even recommend Far Cry 3 if you like a good single player open world RPG from a 1st person view. It’s no Skyrim, but still fun.
I actually re-installed Skyrim last night because I can’t face playing GW2 anymore, there are no rewards for doing so for me, at all.
After spending a couple of hours getting all my mods installed again and tweaking ini’s, I didn’t use the Map Travel for about the first hour because I didn’t want to pay the waypoint costs. Then it hit me
I’m 99.9% sure my brother is getting me FC3 for Christmas. Apparently it has co-op and he loves it.

Yes, you can create a guild even if you are in a guild, but you would have to represent your own guild for a while to get the points necessary to open a guild bank.
Late Thanks
I just wanted to add that I decided to play my Charr Ranger today and noticed that I’m level 15 with a level 8 bow and 2 level 6 axes. This is absolutely shockingly pathetic! Never have I been so starved of loot like this in any other game.
After an hour the only non materials I have is globby goo, spider legs and slabs of meat
or make you own guild for the bank (account wide again).
About this, this would be perfect for me. But can I create a Guild while being in a Guild?
And does the Guild Bank come with creating the Guild or do you have to represent it a while to get points to unlock/buy the bank?
Thanks.
It’s getting to the point of why even bother now? I’ve done Jormag 4 times in the last couple of days and gotten 4 blues each time. That doesn’t even cover the waypoint travel. If my time spent isn’t worth anything to Anet then I’ll be returning the sentiment back to them pretty soon.
Christ my alts are struggling to continue because they can’t use hoofs or salvageable rags as weapons/armour
(edited by Paul.4081)
I love it because unlike every other game you don’t get the predictable good loot after spending 10-20 minutes killing a monster. In GW2 you are not rewarded at all leaving you unable to wait to take down another to capture the same high.
I’m doing the jumping puzzles and the explorer achievements (Windy Tunnel etc. not map exploration) that are in your character achievement section.
I’d have something to punch nearby like a pillow when doing the Chaos Crystal Cavern though
When you ask fellow queuers if this DE is bugged when you have to wait a while in a shop queue.

Town Clothes = No Sale for me, I bought every costume in GW1 because you could wear it over your armour and dye them. I’ve spent about 10 seconds in my town clothes in this game and looked like a cucumber with a hat. This does not inspire me to buy town clothes, it makes me switch back to armour asap.
I find certain races much more fun than others in certain professions. Eg. Loving my Asuran thief, but hated playing as a human thief. Hated my Asuran Ele but loving my human Ele. Haven’t yet found a race to go Engineer with that I like (tried Charr and Norn).

How about the more times you travel to a waypoint, the cost is reduced for that particular waypoint by a percentage to encourage travelling? Travel around the world more, you end up paying less.
Add a title like ‘Waypoint Monkey’ or something too.
I remember reading that many people couldn’t take part because of where they live/are in the real world, maybe Anet giving them a chest too because through no fault of their own couldn’t play the event?
When you look on the TP for Christmas gifts.
Can’t wait for the Chef’s to unleash Venison burgers upon us, those things’ll bite back
Even Lord Faren is noticing it.
I hear that man eating couch is a tough sob to take down
Surprised no-ones posted the breakdancing dolphins yet.
(edited by Paul.4081)
I’m guessing the loot was toned down for the mail chests since Guildies that didn’t even login for the event got one and others who were not disconnected and got the actual event chest got another one mailed.
I got an Ancient Karka Shell, Shiro’s Mask, another exotic, two rares and the bag.
Yep, I said this in another post, the way bigger monsters are just Veteran or Champion makes them seem like they come off an assembly line.
In GW1 who can forget boss names like Spasmo Thunderbolt etc. In GW2 they’re easier to remember because everything is Champion or Veteran drones.

I have a very hard time reading map chat while wandering around and killing things, I actually focus on my attacks (probably way more than necessary). Try my server, though (Jade Quarry) I do often see recruitment comments in chat.
Same here, when I attack a monster then kill the 5 friends that always join in, then kill the super fauna that always join in. I have to scroll up to read what was being said in Guild and Map chat.
Aww, the tree is obscuring Rudolph’s head and big red nose

“1000+ hours of work lost with no support to get it back.”
This was/is my biggest fear when playing GW/GW2, getting days of your life of acumulated hours flushed down the toilet
I think the TP as handy as it is also makes me feel more alone in game. I can’t tell you how many lengthy conversations I had in Spamadan when buying things in GW1 and usually always ended up adding someone to my Friends list.
In GW2 I put item on TP, I buy item from TP, The End
Actually, there are a few more reasons…
- Game was pitfully programmed and made for intel cpus, what causes;
- Game crashes that Anet has not fixed yet;
– Fps drops without a reason that Anet has not fixed yet;
– High end cpus running with low fps, that Anet has not fixed yet;
– Game is CPU bound, not gpu bound.Really, looks like an amateur game.
My thoughts exactly. All other games I play run maxed out but in GW2 I find myself having to turn off shadows etc. Even if I check out system performance while the game is running my comp. is like “Oh you’re playing a game, thought you were installing Steam?”. I don’t think the game is fully utilising my computer.
Poor engine or optimisation, who knows?

In other games but too late for that.
I’m trying to get all dyes on my main so I’d use it if it was me. Depends if you’re a collector or not, if not get it punted.
Dropping a nuke on Orr will only make the Risen mutate and become bigger/faster (never played resident Evil?). I don’t see many green/red herbs in Tyria so lay of the nuke-age.
Hellkaiser you can polish that jobby for days, but it’ll still taste the same when Captain Meow! is driving.

I wish peeps would stop using overflow in LA as a response, we all know thats no excuse!
I’m having the same problem with my Sylvari not showing the glow effect inside the Makeoverkit. I was hoping for a fix in the new patch but it’s still not working.
There were a few posts in the forum about it but i can’t find them now with a reply from Anet saying they would look into it. So hopefully we get a fix soon.
Hi,
It’s not just the Sylvari, whats going on with weapons etc. not showing how they actually look in game? Character screen should show how you and your weapons appear in game. In GW2 you get non animation versions in your character window.
It’s bad enough we don’t have the preview on TP after months but we still have to put up with this?
I bet when we get a preview option on the TP we’ll get this allover again!
(edited by Paul.4081)
Can this please be updated. I bought a total makeover pack for my Sylvari but I’m dubious about making the changes after I bought a weapon (Emberglow) from the TP, when I did and previewed it before soulbinding, it didn’t show the flaming glowy head.
So how does this work with the preview window when I redo my Sylvari? There is a glow option but no sign of glow in the preview box (as with weapons). I don’t want to be stuck with a pimp pink and tiger stripes Sylvari that should have shown up in the first place and have to buy another makeover pack. Or is that the idea, blind makeovers = touch ups = more cash?
Ps. Effects also don’t show up on character screen.
I don’t want to update my toon blind so can I get a refund if there isn’t an update planned to what should have been there in the first place?

How about some race only weapons?
Asura – Gravity cube, typical Asuran insanity/genius
Human – Ghost weapon given as a gift from Ascalonian Ghosts, the blade was a Trojan horse sent to infiltrate and destroy the human spirit by devouring Rurik’s fiery dragon sword, Rurik’s swords spirit was too strong and the blades merged to create the fire/ice sword? Now I’m rambling.
Norn – Lance so big only that only a Norn could wield it with ability to be imbued with each of the elements
Sylvari – Spore cannon, heavy condition based and the wielder has a constant poison cloud aura
Charr – Mechanical power gloves with dual chainsaw etc. attatchments
My husband and I are currently leveling alts and lo and behold there seems to be a lot of players doing the same thing.
We have also noticed that the players we run into in the world are even nicer than before, when we leveled our mains. We came to the conclusion that the function of FoTM is to suck all the kittens out of the world map and confine them in one spot, so that the rest of us can get on with our game.
We have had a great time this week
That could be true, dungeon kiddies are not nice people in my experience. Ask them what they’ll do after Fractals in LA and watch them throw a tantrum in caps lock
I use my arrow keys for movement, shift for jump, ctrl to dodge (super pinkie) and my mouse to click the skills. I play a lot of first person shooters so prefer this way as opposed to pressing 1-0 on the keyboard in combat.
I recently got a gaming mouse and put Inventory, Character, Weapon Swap etc. on the buttons. I tried putting jump/dodge on it but it was too confusing after using the keys for months.
I played the first game for almost 6 years so don’t worry, the feeling of complete confusion is normal. I was the same when I started GW2. Just do things bit by bit. If you try to figure out/understand the whole game and everything in it in a day your head will probably explode
You should join a Guild asap, makes it less boring when you have a constant bunch chatting away in Guild chat while you do things and they can help if you get stuck etc. etc. Theres a Guild recruitment section on the forums or else you could just look out for them in game, probably Lions Arch is your best bet but theres always Guilds posting their resume out in the field too.

This has happened on many toons on various races/professions.
You cast healing, you see the heal result up your health circle but still you get downed and your heal that had already added health to you disregarded and down we go!
It’s like pulling the rug from under!
(edited by Paul.4081)
If the dragon fights had some random elements thrown in they would be better. But that they are on a schedule = less epic.
In GW1 when the Mad King picked you out of the crowd, would be good if the dragons did something like this where a random player had a chance to inflict a decent amount of damage. Not consolised things like press B now to do this. More along the lines of a guardian angel (just not Trahearne) giving you cryptic clues as to which skill on your bar to use for a dragonslayer combo.
(edited by Paul.4081)
I wish I was a Risen sometimes in game, they can run like atheletes compared to me. They are more like the infected from ‘28 Days Later’ than the undead.
I was gutted when I found out that I have to do Arah to complete my PERSONAL story. Forced into dungeons (which I hate), so I won’t be finishing that then, or on any alt’s either
(edited by Paul.4081)
i’m going to guess that you can’t lock them enabled because similarly with GW1 where you could only have a certain amount of them per district, if everyone locked them it would cause a problem and overload the limit of minis out at a time in a district.
Overflow for minis? :P
Theres a Vista in Lornar’s Pass that has a hill that looks like the obvious way to get the Vista but there’s invisible walls so you have to kind of crawl around the side instead. I’ve not really found many apart from that though.
I played a game recently that was hellish for them, even objects on the ground had some weird invisible barriers around them that made me get stuck when trying to jump over/onto. Not annoying in the slightest when I was attacked
