If there is someoneelse who can stomp ( when i go alone it is not that common ) i trade elixir S for eg (better in 1 vs 1 and for removing conditions ) . The only big problem are condi necros

As elite you can use crate also or mortar. I prefer elixir X only for interrupting enemy with moa
the idea should be not to give up with kit or elixir but to mix for having more alternatives

yes problem is that 40 sec for skill is quite a long time … it means 10 sec fury every 40 sec…. it seems to me weak. As win skill i prefer elixir U but obviously it is not good for you
eg and utility googles are really different . Eg has many utilities in a single slot … this is the great thing of kit … not only eg. You trade a skill and a toolbet skill for 5 different skills and a toolbet skill. This is the reason why kits are so good . do you use a power build ? i think that utility googles is really good for full dps build for thieves .10% from toolbet i suppose

i prefer rabid for p/p. Cele has a quite low condition damage ( in respect to rabid ) and direct damage of pistols is really bad. For cele i prefer rifle with nades and toolkit ( i prefer celestial to soldier even if it is not meta )
I think eg was never good for range fight . Skill 1 was ok but skill 2 was really slow and all the other were “melee” skill in my opinion if you use it with hgh trait correctly it one of the stronger kit we have. having acid bomb every 12 seconds is really strong and it gives you a really good mobility ( remap about face ) . Try it with a different approach and you will be surprised
. Now i’d say that eg is better than nades at least for condi builds becouse with p/p or p/s the mobility of eg 4 is really important and also the stun breaker
If you take eg and elixir S, with elixir S every 48 secs and elixir S from trait, with stealth every 32 sec and stability every 17 and with elixir gun 4 every 12 seconds you can survive quite well . I am not saying it is the most op build in the world but it is viable. Also if you play without eg and take elixir U, you have projectil reflection and a good dps boost , in my opinion with eg it is better but it is really really strong in any case. As elite i suggest always elixir X for pvp becouse toss elixir X is too important against necros or as an interrupt and rampage, when it come out, is an easy win button
In my opinion that trait is good but not so good. It has a long cd , it avoid stealth for a short time and you don’t know when it happens …. so if i have to chose between tools traits i am not so sure to take it. I take it only when i play without alchemy (sometime i do ) .
i don’t agree. I find it extremely strong especially if you trait it with hgh and with tool 15% reduction on toolbet skills …. good might and stunbreak on short cd, acid bomb every 12 seconds is really strong … ok , you have 900 range but you have short cd on all skills
In my opinion with hgh builds tools is better than invention. The reason is the 15% reduciton on tossic elixir which is really valuable for might stacking and for elixir Effects ( with elixir B you have 6 sec stab every 17 sec or so that is really strong )
what do you think about it ? I think that if traited for reduced cd is really a good weapon . offensive skills are better than focus (fire air ) and i also like water … it seems me not so good earth … but i am interested in your opinion .
Engineer. You can have good hibryd builds… defend points.. hel team fights , mobility and it is the funnest class to play
It depennds on level. For casual pvp players hgh elixirs builds can work. I know that kits are sronger but after 3 years of kits it is quite normal to want to try a gameplay completely different. And in 1 vs 1 full elixirs with rifle can be quite strong (pistols have too long cd to be effective without eg becouse pistol 1 is kitten). There is people who play for esl or tol but there are many others who play for fun .
If you use pp with elixir s and b it is ok but youneed elixir gun becouse pisrol 1 is too weak
Iy is ok as it is. It is the only source of burning with condi builds without ft. I find ft trash and i don’ t want to have to take it for having burning
the only (rare) use of pistol 5 is with granades kit …. but it is a melee weapon and it is not easy or safe to use
for bomb kit i think it is enough. what they really have to do is something to make pistol viable. Pistol 1 is too weak and you need at least eg to switch to when the other skills are in cd
i think it is intended . AMR recharge the turret ( which is the healing skill (usually mapped on F button) ) not the overcharge which is not an healing skill . I think they intend it in this way
Are we talking tournament wise or just for ranked/unranked matches? When i run a premade with some guild friends we run 2 thieves. We run 3 bunkers with 2 thieves.
We do a MM necro, Staff ele, and a d/d ele and when we are team speak it goes pretty smoothly against pugs. When we face other premades the matches are obviously much closer but once again this all comes down to skill level.
Thief is probably the hardest class to be good at in this game. With that you have to know there either gonna be great help or be the weak link. You can say the same thing about rangers atm as well.
Do you play with 1 d/d thief ?
I agree with you only on an half : nades are better than bombs ( and in my opinion eg and toolkit are better also but for different uses ) but ft …. perhaps i have great problems with ft but for me it is really bad …. probably i am the problem and not ft
how to report a player that in every match goes afk after a minute and remain there doing nothing ?
it seems me strange becouse amr worked like that for design , not for a bug. it worked only on healing skills , not on charged of turrets .
i tried also but with celestial you have low toughness. In my opinion with celestial nades are better becouse you can stay out of the damage. Rabid has more toughess so it seems to me that bomb kit works quite well . The real problem for me is that the block of toolkit seems to me quite a must to stay in the fight so you have to take bombs and toolkit if you want to survive .

They adjusted the radius of bombs. Where do you see bombs now ? in power builds ? it seems to me that for going with bomb you have to take explosive (for blasting in bombs ) .. and with that in any case you lose IP …. so it seems to me that they don’t fit well with Condition engineer. And for going in power i feel nades in any case better than bombs .
I feel also condition engineer a little dead : i tried many viable build ( with ft or with elixir B, elixir S and eg +hgh ) but they are not optimal …
DD thief in my opinion is inferior becouse it has really low survivability. With D/P you can use stealth to run away or disengage , with S/D you use mobility to disengage … but with D/D you have to touch your opponent for stealth and so it is much more difficult to avoid aoe many classes have. Quite all classes have waponset that work better in conquest rather than others. For example, i really really love playing engineer with pistol pistol and i play it quite a lot also now but i feel and i am sure that in this moment rifle is much better ( lower cd, more range … ) .In turnaments you see only rifle based engineers. I play for fun and i play and win many matches with pistol pistol but this does not change the fact that rifle is better. For thief is the same. You can enjoy yourself with D/D and win matches at a lower level but if you try to scale up your level playing you will realize that the other 2 set are much more effective ( i played thief also but then i changed becouse i found it boring)
i think healing bombs has always been a bad trait. I really don’t miss it but i prefer actual bunker down , so please no healing bombs again …
DIamond skin is ok as it is . I play eng condition and i don’t see it as a problem. You have only to make his heal going down …. it is not so op in my opinion. It is not DIamond skin the cause of the strenght of D/D ele
A simpler solution would be to reduce some healing skills ability ( for example ea in water or heling by cantrip or signet of restoration ) so that elementalists would have more to think to how avoid damage

Sometime it seems to me that the majority of the pvp community is ( like me) not involved in leagues or in competitve scene and the major part of players neither try to make a team or to partecipate .
Sometime i feel anet should make pvp a little more rewarding at least for his playerbase for inviting people to play . I go usually alone … i lose one match .. .win another one … win a second … but after then i think … now what can i do ?
I am too old for playing this seriously , i work , i have not time and i am not so good to play it in a higher level .. .but i think that anet should make something to make pvp more involving for lower tiers .
I don’t complain on higher tiers, don’t take my thought in that way but it seems to me that focusing on high level player for anet makes things boring and repetitive for the others .
I tried with elixir H toolbet, it is 240 radius and it has the same radius as fire bombs even if on firebomb tooltip there is written 180 radius. Are you sure it is not only a problem of tooltip on the bomb kit not updated ? The radius seems correct to me .

To my eyes toolkit and bombs are fine as they are. I don’t use bombs in pvp , i used only sometime at start but they seemed to me as before. I used it in wvw instead and they work in the same ways they have always worked. Toolkit seems ok. There is the fact that magnet can fail for the floor, but it is something you can handle . In any case many players dodge the magnet so i prefer to use magnet and pry bar differently ( for example prybar in melee fight and magnet for interrupting )
bomb kit will never be fixed. I think it is ok as it is now for devs so probably it will remain as it is now. In any case now EG is really strong with hgh, nades are good and toolkit and mortar are ok so we have many things we can chose among

I really love pvp but after 3 ..4 … 6 matches it is a little repetitive. I play wvw sometimes to make something different but i really think they should make something to help low populated server …
Problem of wvw is that there are servers quite dead. In my opinion they should gives some sort of price to people who let high populated server and move to lower one ( gems , gold or so on ) so that they force the rebalance for having a more fun wvw .
I’m one of the many engis with a celestial ascended set that’s seen less use than before. I’m torn between rolling it to sinister, rabid or keeping it the same.
I’d suggest you to wait till expansion come out. Now it will be really hard to say which will be next “meta” for eng in pvp or in wvw. I already have a rabid ascended armor and a celestial ascended armor and i am looking for making work both of them . I am not so sure of what will be better in expasion so in my opinion it is safer to keep what you have and to correct the stats you don’t like with jewelery in the worst case
Elixir X is really strong for toss elixir X .. expecially against lich form
i went celestial before pre patch and it was not that bad. Vitality helps you against conditions if you are not in zergs . Engi has not great condi remove. And knight has no healing power. It is something you feel on your HT . Now rabid is better than celestial for roaming, i agree, but it is not that bad to roam with celestial in any case. Perhaps there are better setup or it depends on and it depends on the way you are used to play but saying it is completely unviable is a little strong in my opinion . The only thing we have really lost, and it is a great loss, if you use nades , is Incendiary Powder. It is and was really strong but in any case you can kill also without that .
I can understand balance is made on pvp becouse on pvp every people have the same gear , stat and so on but i also understand anet can not ignore that the major part of players, who payed for the game, are probably the pve component so probably the truth is in the middle . And i play quite only pvp , so i am not a pve fan boy .
we are not sayiing that celestial or engineer has not beeing nerfed. But for example, if you want an hint, try wolfineer celestial wvw build. Obviously cele eng is not strong as it was pre patch , but it seems to me in any case viable .
i go hgh pistol pistol full rabid , with elixir B, eg, elixir S and elixir X and for going killing people is really fun and strong . with traits from tools and from hgh your toolbet elixir skills have a huge cd reduction so it is really really strong .
In wvw i use all rabid except 2 celestial rings for having a little more vitality and hp .
It is really really strong ( obviously when there are big fight i trade elixir X for mortar for having range ) . In 1 vs 1 i kill quite everything ( obviously it depends on players skill level and necro are never easy to 1 vs 1 .. .but with moa and elixir X… and a little of lack you can do it also )

You can go celestial with rifle quite well in my opinion . It is not op as it was becouse you lost IP if you take explosive for nades but in any case it can be strong even now celestial engi
i would trade static discharge ( i really hate it ) with power wrench and i would substitute rifle turret with elixir B . So you should gain more might and 3 stack of stability for 5 second every 17 secs. It is quite good for stomping . Mortar and eg are strong but in my opinion , with hgh , having an elixir which you can costantly push for pop up might is better. You can not waste your eg skills or your mortar 5 for stacking might instead you can waste your elixir B as you want and it gives you good boons. And a little of stability is alwasy good. It also helps you removing conditions . In any case, for P/P i really prefer rabid …. i have 2 sets ascended, 1 rabid and 1 celestial and in my opinion pistols work better with rabid and celestial works better with rifle … but that is another story
if u use nades with celestial you can let firearms out and take explosive . The damage is not that bad. IP was strong… but it is not the only access to damage celestial engi has . With berserker you are really squishy and with knight you hava no vitality. And both of them has no condi damage . In my opinion you can try explosive, alchemy invention or explosive, invention tool , they are different and the first for me is better, but they are both viable .
