@Behellagh.1468
You are obviously missing the gist here.
If you want to count the outfit that was released on haloween or not doesn’t matter one bit. Or if you want to count each armor class as a set or not doesnt matter either. (Then you just count all armors in gw2 the same as a comparison.) If you want to count the little bits and pieces we got for rev and elite specs doesnt matter either. All of those do not excuse the severe lack of content here.
What matters is that when i look at the wardrobe of my mesmer there are 65 possible chest pieces i could select. 3 of those are from HoT. That is less than 5%! You gotta realize that this isn’t a free update but that people actually paid for this. The point is that the amount of armors we got in the expansion is in no way adequate for what an expansion should give.
All the added shop outfits just make this more sour than it already is.

I think chrono is a good bet. It had lots of usefull buffs and so much invul/block uptime that you can get by with minimal toughness investment.
From a mechanical standpoint its kinda important that the bossses are larger than the average player. It will be next to pimpossible to see the animations with 10 players casting effects on it.
Also you can always come up with any lore based excuse. Its a giant from far far away/ he fell into the magic drink when he was a kid/ hes got big bones.
In short gameplay first.
I really like this map. I think the only thing it needs is much higher rewards. Since the map and the meta is harder than the other ones i think the rewards should reflect that.
I’d love gyros to work underwater only. Probably wouldn’t change their usage much :P
People are defending this.
I don’t get it. Its like people are screaming for less content.
Yea as stated a few posts above, i don’t mind anet releasing outfit and trying to make more cash with cheaper producing costs. It just becomes a cruel joke when they added more outfits than actual armors already in the first 3 weeks!
Also 3 sets =/= 10 sets
Look at all the sets in your bank and tell me that was added is worthy of an expansion!
Norn T3 Shoulders and Gloves
Striders Tunic
Norn T1 Legs
And boots from Caudecus Mannor
Sorry that i dont name each and every piece but im unsure what they are all called in english.
Also here is my mesmer:

Hello guys i want to discuss the fact that HoT has already added as many cash shop armorsets as actual in game armors.
What Gem Shop armor skins since HoT? We got a glider skin, two if you count the bundle, and a couple of back skins. They added a few outfits but that’s not mix and match armor skins.
On the other hand we got all of these pieces you get in HoT and that’s not the Legendary Armor.
http://dulfy.net/2015/11/08/gw2-hot-weapons-armor-and-backpieces-guide/
Three sets for all weights, one that’s heavy only and 9 pieces, one for each sub-profession.
Good that you mention it. The Crystal Defender outfit, the Mad Guard Outfit and the Lyssa outfit. We already have as many outfits as armorsets added since HoT and i bet you next weeek we will get another one, because fashion is only for the cash shop and even then its only outfits.
10 new sets aren’t enough?
If we had indeed gotten 10 sets, then this topic wouldn’t exist.
Pretty much this. 2 armors , 1 for heavy and 9 pieces equals less than 3 full sets. Thats not great in the timespan if it were living word but for a full price expansion its a joke. Honestly i fail to see how you can be satisfied with this.
I think the outfit only thingy in the gemstore has been going on a for a long time, and by this point even the vets have gotten used to it. I get that its cheaper to produce and bottom line is you make more cash. I dont like it either but i wouldn’t mind if the actual expansion had brought a decent selection.
But even new players should realize that the armors added from the expansion equate to almost nothing. Anyone who has played other mmo’s and bought an expansion to the likes of FF14 ( lots of new dungeons and new armors for every singe one + new open word armors + craftable armors + token and raid armors) has to realize that this is a joke. All the recently added gem store outfits just make it a pretty cruel one.
I really hope that new players aren’t stupid enough to just eat it up.
Its 3 including the revenant armor, but you are completely right.
I have always felt, that the only goals that were left to achieve after getting ascended armor where purely of a cosmetic nature. Like most of the gold i earn and time i play goes towards looking cool.
I just dont see why the devs decided to completely axe this part of the game.
Hello guys i want to discuss the fact that HoT has already added as many cash shop armorsets as actual in game armors.
To me fashion and finding new and cool armor has always been a big part in GW2 and one that has largely substituted engame progression. Its true that they have added masteries to make up for it but there is still something lacking that i feel makes up a good part of gw2’s indentity. Things i just buy for gems that i cant even customize (thats my biggest issue) do not give the same satisfaction of creating your own cool looking armor and then to go hunting for all the parts, however hard they might be to obtain.
I don’t mind that arenanet wants to make money, but this expansion has really given very little to those who love fashion.

The game is still B2P with the base game as a “trial”.
You dont go and buy player kills in the cash shop. Anyone who paid 50$ will be just as good as someone who paid 5000.
If you want to play engi with the lowest possible APM then i’d reccomend camping flamethrower with mass momentum and juggernaut. As your utilitiess you use the buffwrak cleans and heal gyro because they are drop and forget. Also you won’t need to use your 1 skill again because they dont interrupt your flamethrower animation. Just hammer your hand on the keyboard once to use all your gyros to maximum effectiveness. As your elite skill you can use racial skills for all it matters.
Sarcasm aside, all serious engineer build require lots of kit swapping and button mashing, but for easy open word farming i also sometimes use this lazy build.

Its about time ppl stopped believing spreadsheet dps without any proof whatsoever. Want to make a viable comparison that people can easily verify for themselves? Kill the target golem 10 times, stop the time and post your rotation as well as the buffs when performing. You don’t even have to make a video about it. People who are interrested will take the trouble to learn the rotation verify your claims.
Now im not saying that your lying or that your math is bad, but i think that these things should be accessible and less cryptic to the common player. This also strengthens the value of a true statement.

Is that chest specialized? like does it drop the shield part when im a chrono and how long did it take you to get it?
bump, has anyone made them yet?
On a totally unrelated note: is there a way i can buy the HoT soundtrack?
In WvW? Probably ranger. No one asks anything out of you and no one wants you in a party. You are looked at as a ganker at best. At worst a rallybot. Most of the time people leave you to your own devices so you can pretty much do what you want. Just bringing that class into WvW screams casual to most people who spend a great deal of time in WvW.
Ouch the truth kinda hurts.

First reaction?
Ahahahahaha
listens to the music ….. all good
Warrior or Ranger.
Hey guys so i just unlocked the collection for the machined weapons. Its all pretty clear, except one thing.
The armored shield, the cores from the first 3 maguma maps and a charged shield backing, those seem easy enough to get, but when i mouse over the charged shield boss, it says random drop from the dragons stand pods.
To me it makes little sense that i can craft the backing but the boss is an rng drop.
So to those that have already gotten a Machined weapon, is this a mistake in the discription or do i actually have to open pods and pray?
Thank you for your replies!
Yea this is specificly with chrono and shield. Honestly i think its one of the best mesmer weapons for a cele bunker’ish builds despite having no condis. In the same vein that cele engis now run arround with Hammers.
So today i did a bit of testing in SPvP with berserker runes and its also rather nice there.
With the chrono line and good illusion generation on the weapon sets you can basicly shatter all the time (shattering while you block is great!). And well of precogiting is basicly one of the best utility skills ever. So many uses! Wells in general suit coquest rather well, and are ok’ish in stronghold.
With heals on shattering and shield blocks and distortion on my sword and well of precognition and even my f4 in a pinch + the insane ammounts of cc wells and shield give, i was able to comfortably hold out 2v1’s and even 3v1’s.
You can even kill peole pretty fast when you bait their stunbreaks and then lock them down.
All in all i’d say its a cele build with above average bunkering, maybe even above average dueling and below average support. (distortion share, healshares, wells, cc, and alacrity)
Maybe the healing well for more support?
(edited by Pride.1734)
I think Trahearne’s end was pretty cool and thematic. Eir just bit the dust without any buildup. I think she deserved better.
1. Auric Basin
2. Tangled Depth
3. Dragons Stand
4. Verdant Brink
Bump. So far is has proven to be pretty effective in some WvW duels and in the PvE jungle. Its quite hard to kill with heals on every shatter and reduced shatter cd+ alacrity. Also you get lots of block/ invul and chaos armor uptime. This build might even be able to bunker points in SPvP with some adjustment for runes etc. The damage of course isn’t over the top but you can get some pretty nice might and confusion stacks going.
(I mainly want this to work because i like sword so much better than scepter xD)
(edited by Pride.1734)
The stat swap is usefull for gear where you can skipp out on some recepies that aren’t as easy to get like sinister and celestial. Anyway just go for berserker and swap later if you need anything else.
Im not quite convinced, that going cele is worth it but lets entertain the idea for now.
Since i haven’t found a build for it yet this is what i came up with.
Im quite unsure about the utilities.
Any idea, help and critics are very welcome
(edited by Pride.1734)
Im also not so thrilled by this. They removed all the bonuses aurashare gave to shouts. One at a time, this is just the last remaining one. Frostaura doesnt stack anymore… auras don’t heal twice… boons dont get applied twice.
Its kinda like saying: Dont even think about running shouts with aurashare!
And as others have posted above i thought this was really cool flavour for a build thats kinda weak to begin with.
Thank you for your reply.
Well aint that a kick in the teeth… Those were our two most important traits….
They say dd ele got nerfed…. we got decimated….
I wouldn’t even be salty about this if we had some other options, but the fact is that most of our GM traits still blow. At least give us some options.
As the posters above me have stated, just mix soldiers knights and berserkers til you are comfortable with the damage/sustain ratio.
If i remember this correctly, there was some change that all leaps and jumps were supposed to be no longer affected my chill/cripple/swiftness. However when using jump shot or rocket charge you still notice a clear difference when you have chill or cripple on.
They fixed this for the elixir gun some time ago so my question is if this is intended for jump shot and rocket charge or just not fixed yet?
Guardians and warriors can do that as well. Also theoreticly this is bannable “botting” in pactice its very hard to prove that its a rock on your mouse and not your finger.
Yea man they got a full guardian kit. We only got a ranger utility…
all the time was spent on druid…
this change list makes this statement look silly.
You are completely right. Im sure they spent the same time on creating the function gyro as the celestial form. /sarcasm
The only gyros that will find their way into WvW are the bulwrak and sneak. And both only for their toolbelt.
I really like the hammer changes! Should make it feel much more smooth.
Our class mechanic still feels like a tagged on afterthought because all the time was spent on druid…
I only get rage when playing with my condi burn engi. And honesly even i think i deserve it. Its cheap as F. But thats burning in a nutshell.
My rifle marauder gets much more praise than it gets hate.
Thanks guys, im crafting light!
Thats what i’d use. Stab! Might! Damage! Sustain! CC! Water Fields! Bocks and Evades! Mass Condi Clear and Boons for your zerg!
(Stop kidding yourself that the toolkit pull works when you want it to.)
Will it be viable?
Other frontliners bring condi clear buffs and cc. Eles Bring Waterfields.
We can’t compete with Warriors because they have the rez banner. So the real question is… when would you take an engi over a guard?
Honestly the only situation you would do that is when you have are short on eles. Don’t get me wrong, frontline engi will be great in its own right and certainly be more usefull that engi ever was in WvW but i seriously doubt it wil become meta.
Kinda funny people complain about this trait instead of mater fencer.
Hey guys so i have finally got all the resources for an ascended cele set. Since i mainly play medium and light armor classes i will have to decide between those two. Also the price difference isn’t an issue.
Right now im tending towards light because cele Engi isn’t what it used to be and Ele as well as Necro have great cele builds.
But in the end i’m pretty unsure and i would greatly apreciate any input and help you guys have for me
What does the Norn say to his friend who makes fun of his Sylvari wife?
Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder.
I’m thinking about skipping the timegate for charged quarz crystals. When salvaging weapons with heavenly values, like the Stardust do they have a chance to give the insignia? I’d like to know in advance before spending lots of gold on it.
Thank you
So far raiding has been a great experience. Finally some proof that a working group scenario with tanks supports and condi as well as direct dd’s is required to beat the content.
Honestly Great Job! Looking at the trailer future raid encounters will also look more like actual bosses instead of blue men group xD.
I like the part that gyros don’t exist.
Did anyone else notice that with the earth overload and then fire warhorn 4 you can give people arround you instantly about 30 secs of protection? With easily 100% uptime.
So your favorite part of tempest was a bugged skill (earth overload applying too much prot) and a skill they already announced was being nerfed into uselessness (only sharing might). Sounds like the spec for you…/s
My favourite part is the healing auras on shouts and overloads, hope that aint changing :p. Granted i suspected that giving 30 secs of protection upfront was hardly intended. Its still pretty good protection uptime regardless, if they give warhorn 4 a fire aura to compensate i’d be completely fine with the nerf.
