Astralaria on Revenant offhand celestial arm

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

I just want to ask if this is something other players noticed, too and/whether it is only me or on the revenant or on all offhand professions:

Sometimes after drawing the weapon, the arm doesn’t have the celestial arm. Anyone else observed it? Also, I think it happened recently after the last update. Before it never bugged out.

Exactly, but then they have no right to complain if they are locked out of a feature. That simple.

It should be quite evident to understand that in MMOs you are left out without the current expansion. But I have sympathy for people who can’t even claim a simple buff.

Generally though, I think it’s fallacious to complain about a feature they can’t use be cause they deny to buy an expansion. The attitude towards the whole media landscape nowadays is quite questionable: shows, movies and games get pirated everyday. Many people don’t understand that it costs a lot of money and passion to create such a product. If you are – even after hundreds/thousands of spent hours – too greedy to pay a free-to-play game with no drawbacks then you deserve to be left out of certain parts and new features.

It’s fallacious to complain?
Oh dear.

Under these circumstances yes.

Precursor Crafting Overpriced?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: ProtoGunner.4953

ProtoGunner.4953

I made Astralaria and I love the fact that the precursor is only attainable through the collection although the mats needed are pretty insane.

I want to point out that only the first precursor (after to get Astralaria I) and the 2nd collection were really expensive, i. e. you needed a ton of ascended crafting material like elonian leather, spiritwood and deldrimor steel. After this collection III and IV were mostly a scavenger hunt with a few elonian leathers here and there. But it was mostly an awesome experience and a lot of fun!

But we talk about Legendary items here, it’s vanity, and not needed. Everyone who complains should just create an ascended item then.

Why I think HoT failed

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: ProtoGunner.4953

ProtoGunner.4953

Pretty personal opinion and also the guy there tells a lot of positive things. Like he likes the raid and also the revenant profession. And even in his conclusion that he – although he has a lot to complain – he liked it overall and got what he’s paid for.

I only have a few complaints:
- more maps next time please, it’s basically 3 maps and one meta event map which is on the super lower end compared to other triple A MMOs.
- don’t balance your legendaries, crafting, collection etc. around the TP kitten ups. It is your fault that initially the lower tier mats were so underused and then you make us using this stuff like low tier leather which almost never drops – especially not in the new maps cuz it’s 80ies.
- you made dungeons unattractive and tell us fractals is the new 5man content… without adding a single new instance. WTF? Very bad idea.
- some adventures are too hard or shouldn’t be tied to MPs

The biggest problem with all those whiners is that they interpret their own opinion into the minds of everyone.

Many people like to have skill challenges hard/group content, just be cause you don’t think it’s fun you don’t have to come here like 10’000 others and whine about it for the 10’000th time and tell that it is not fun.

Ironically your post sounds whiney.

The 10,000 number you used twice to emphasize your point is also very ironic. Talking about what you don’t like is actually better than leaving the game as many have done over the last 3 years. Whichever of us is in the minority we’ll soon know. Whining about whining is the new meta.

Whining about whining isn’t whining. But I understand that you hate the game.

No, I tell you why I think it is. There’s a bug while you try to enter the JP and for a short time the Winter Wonderland loading screen appears, shortly after you see the Divinity’s Reach loading screen. This could be the moment you see some people walking off the ledge. It’s just a guess and I am by no means a professional MMO programmer.

But why would people do this to ‘afk’ anyways? You can enter the JP anytime (besides this but which tells you it is full).

Also, if you want to make a bot, you don’t do it like this. You can just make a macro that jumps all the time. Or at least walks forward and backwards instead of just walking off the ledge all the time, less obvious. At least that would be the thing I’d do.

I like challenges like fungus among us, it motivates me, but for god’s sake, fix it. If you come from games like super mario or rayman which as well have such hard challenges, then you know what I mean: buggy, glitchy, it just doesn’t feel fluent and finished. I know this is an MMO and usually you shouldn’t bother about game mechanics from platformer games, but if you introduce such adventures then do it right.

Also, I found sanctum scramble (though I haven’t tried that too often, maybe a gameplay vid helps), fallen masks, punch-o-matic too hard. I consider myself a pretty good platform gamer and finished a lot of mario games with the maximum of stars etc. which have some really troublesome mechanics like this:

GW1 Factions: how to do an expansion right.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

It’s fun as I remember exactly how many disliked Factions and it got criticized a lot by fans for having a rather short story, horrible voice acting, a lot of duplicate skills (remember touch ranger who took advantage of this?).

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the expansion, also the areas were great looking and also the elite areas were awesome.

You also can’t compare the map and map sizes. The maps in GW1 are extremely simple, there are no meta events, no multilevel and you couldn’t even jump. Yes, sheer landmass was rather big, but there were a lot of parts you can’t go, which was there only for decoration.

But actually only one HOT map is really complex and that’s Tangled Depths which really has multi-layers. VB has almost no root level and the canopy isn’t that big either. Still a great map though. Auric Basin is mostly one layer like most maps and Dragon’s Stand is mostly one layer.

Also they aren’t that big. Compare the map size with Lornar’s Pass for example. They aren’t bigger although they may seem bigger.
