I didn’t find anything particularly hard in the season 2. I hear that a lot. I don’t know, you even play warrior – it’s really no big deal. Know what the skills do (like prevent damage), time your dodges wisely etc.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Very beautiful, congratulations!
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I did it after many many tries… and yes, one of the bigger hurdles was skill 2 not working properly, I nearly smashed my keyboard near the end and the skills just won’t work. But yea, made it
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Lol another player who thinks the game is to blame. Those bosses are so easy, really. Either get some decent (zerker-)gear or change your playstyle.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I agree that the ratio between gem shop items added and in game items/skins added is ridiculously high. This should be addressed.
But always remember, there are two significant ‘fair’ facts about those items:
- it is fluff
- you can buy them with your earned in game gold (yeah I know at the moment it is very expensive, but you can)
‘would of been’ —> wrong
But you get gold, nearly 1g for running one path.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
the World Event LFG is a mess. I really don’t get what they though about it. People are looking for people if they want it or not. So why not add this… And also add individual LFGs for SW and the four new maps.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Yeah with three additional announcements it’s becoming annoying. They really want to drive to play PvP, they try hard :-)
But omg, 4:3 screen. Why the hell do you play on an ancient screen like that…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
LOL ascended nomad set, what a waste.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
But you get rewards, nearly 1g per path. For the time you invest (15-30min) it’s not that bad. And it’s fun to play with friends.
Remember: never play for rewards, the journey is the reward.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
MMOs is all about long term goals. Also guild halls isn’t the biggest feature, it’s the raids, the masteries and the new specs.
The expansion is out for about 2 months… My experience from complainers is as follows: new releas/feature, crybabies everywhere 6-8 months later: ’THERE’S NOTHING TO DOOOOOO.’
Oh and about black desert; goes down the same road with every single korea grinder and other stuff people were talking about. 1-3 months into it and it’s going back to niche. Remember Wildstar, Archeage etc.? You see people even talking about?

You are extremely disappointed and you put the ‘facts’ to the extreme. Just don’t play the game.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
You don’t need most higher tiers of itzel and nuhoch. Just concentrate on ley-line gliding. After this you don’t need to be fast. Otherwise you will just complain that you burned through the content. Why all the hurry?
I rather play in different areas with different targets, playing together with friends than repeat the same old boring routine.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
You forgot Aetherbalde Retreat dungeon. I never understood why the removed those two (the other is the molten one) from the world map, shortened and cut them in pieces and crammed them into fractals. Also there is a new dungeon for Twilight Arbor called Aetherpath which never was really popular be cause they filled it up with gimmicky gameplay so it was too hard to be run for normal PUGs.
Other than that:
Past: good first impression, fun leveling for the first time. Rather boring after it, no challenging content, only thing to do was making a legendary.
Present: much better, finally some hard daunting content, I love the feel that I just can’t faceroll something with randoms.
Future: With more raids and maps added there will be a rather good future. Population seams healthy and so their gem shop/income.
On a sidenote: the monetisation is taking overhand sometimes, keep in mind to not upset your consumers.

Er what? Do events, play the game. I don’t even get why people would do a mindless kitten like spider farming when they just can do the meta events; more variety, less monotone.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I am fine that ascended is recommended for raids. But the prices are insane at the moment. There is something broken with the whole ascended crafting and that’s resources needed from low level areas. And those are getting more and more expensive.
You can farm and level or whatever for weeks and months in the new areas and run have almost zero low level mats do to the fact that they won’t drop there. This is a kittenty system, really. I get extremely mad every time I want to craft new ascended stuff only to see I have a kittenload of elder wood but zero or next to zero green wood.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
How can someone be ‘not good at fractrals’. Low level fractals is so easy, really. Just try a few times. And if you still struggle with it, yes, I would say, just let it be.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
A lot of people forget that GW1 had some rather hard areas where you had to have specific builds. It was easier to get those builds but it is not a real big deal to get those in GW2 (unless you want viper’s gear).
‘would of been’ —> wrong
You can solo most stuff with reaper, even without minions be cause it has so much HP. But if you need a bit of flesh wall, just take the flesh golem and some other minions at your disposal.
I also found that herald is extremely good at most things. Damage is high, getting past enemies too. Ranger is faceroll anyway. Can’t talk about rest, be cause I didn’t play a lot with them or not at all.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
If the OP is asking be cause of racial differences like skills etc.: it doesn’t matter, you can’t even use your racials and there are no other benefits besides looks.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I think it’s good, it should take time. If everyone runs around with the new legendaries 1 week after release it doesn’t feel legendary at all.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
You will have problems. The areas are more detailed and vast. My PC usually has a framerate of 40-60 fps, but got drops in some areas in HoT to 20 or lower.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I like the map but there are mainly two issues:
- convoluted and complex
- hardest meta event
It is fine to have one of those factors but not both. One thing though, the place where the meta happens is rather clear, but most people first don’t even know where it is and how to get there in the first place.
I am pretty sure they will lower the difficulty be cause the metrics (people in map, successfully completed meta in % of tries) must be horrible
‘would of been’ —> wrong
As a rev/herald, just run through them. Dodge 1-2 times mid of the pocket raptors, or use Glint Heal skill, while running through, since it heals instead of damaging you.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Your opinion, OP. My opinion: I like the feel of progress, Central Tyria got boring and after a while in HoT going back to the old areas is like playing with Ponies.
You hyperbole, with words like ‘complete lack of…’, ‘broken’ etc. Give the game some time. The start is rather daunting, it is a joy now. Though I admit after playing Herald for the past two weeks it was hard to adapt with a Dragonhunter. I usually don’t die anymore – well if I am aware of my surroundings and concentrated.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I feel a sense of accomplishment if I leveled up a mastery. Don’t deduce from your own impressions only.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Where the hell are hard JPs in the expansion? There are hard ones in this game, yes, but not in HOT. Well maybe the one mastery point in VB in the dome is rather hard. But I have yet to find a really hard one like skipping stones or even Obsidian Sanctum.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I never had a DS fail, just go when the global reset is. Some ppl just seem to be too stupid to understand such mechanics.
Whining reaches new levels every day, and I dislike the common errors: the original game was 60€ and the expansion is 45€, so not the same price.
But it’s true that HoT is a bit on the short side. 4 maps is the absolute minimum, 5 to 6 is what I expected. Also: no new dungeons, not even new fractals. WoW for example adds usually 6 – 8 new dungeons and 2 – 3 raids in an expansion. With more to come later.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I have around 1.4k gems left and was eager to buy this glider skin. But seeing it is bundled with stuff I clearly not want, I am not buying it. No, I wait and hope they will sell it separately for 600-700 gems like the other ones.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Yes, I am rather satisfied with HOT. The new areas are awesome, beautiful and vast, the new elite specializations are fun to play and I have yet to enter the raid which I heard is a lot of fun and challenging (which I like). I am really happy and already sunk a big chunk of time into it. For me, it was a good investment.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
At the moment yes, but I also played the following games in the past couple of years:
- Heroes of the Storm
- Diablo III
- Batman Arkham City
- Bloodborne
- Metal Gear Solid 5
- Super Mario Kart 8
- Zelda Windwaker HD
- Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
- Destiny
- Ratchet & Clank (last one on PS3)
- Last of Us

I don’t agree on most but I agree with LFG-tool being cluttered with a kittenload of stuff. Why they don’t introduce more tabs is just something I wonder.
Make new tabs for SW, VB, AB, TD and DS and one for Raids (and then additional ones for every additional raid). Looking through one tab with information for raids, all 4 new maps, silverwastes, dry top and random LFG for HP and achievements is not fun.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Prices are skyrocketing, it is absurd… what the hell are they thinking? All the leather resources needed for the elonian leather is absurdly expensive, sometimes 6x expensive as it was before hot. As if this kittening crafting wasn’t expensive enough. What the hell are you gonna tell all the new players which are confronted with absurdly high prices that were in line before?
It was a bad idea to include lower tier mats for highest tier armor… You go to the HOT maps and get no single low mat drop. No you have to kittening buy it off the TP for ridiculously high prices. If their plan was to buy gems to convert to gold I think this is a very questionable method to increase revenue…

If you think it is grind to level 1 mastery, you are either extremely lazy or just don’t play games. It takes less than an hour to get the first tiers of masteries. What the hell is grind here.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
A guild hall is for a guild, not for 3 players. Also, the guild hall is not much content, it’s just a huge area with nothing in it (well with fluff in it if it’s filled with… fluff like a chair you can’t even sit on).
Besides the +% food the tavern guy gives me, and cheap transportation to the Magus Falls, I don’t need it.
The skins. The entire purpose of this game behind a wall of friends I don’t have. If it was all just a place to run around, I wouldn’t give a rat’s kitten . It’s not about buffs (though 10% xp, karma, etc is nice when you’re leveling or farming… It’s about the skins we won’t have. It’s about the principle of the thing…
Content gating can suck my butt.
Not every game and game’s content can satisfy everyone’s need, deal with it. This is an MMO and it follows mostly the guidlines of an MMO. Why can’t people accept this? I don’t like those skins actually, but yes, this is an argument.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
9/10, like the initial levelling and XP farm. I am soon done with HOT masteries, a lot to discover and I discover more and more with new masteries. The maps are huge, complex and well crafted events are unique in this game. I am sure it gets copied by a lot other MMOs (like they did with events).
I think this expansion is for people who like old school challenges to overcome and exploring. Unfortunately, with more and more people starting to play games toxicity, whining and complaints are more and more filling forums etc. See this thread.

1. Th_ie_f*
2. Enough other classes will buff, thief do good damage, that’s important
3. Find a guild or friends who play with you. It’s rather not for pugs.

After being in the new areas going back to Central Tyria is like playing with Playmobile. It’ a joke compared to the new challenges. I like it. You will adapt eventually. Also, masteries are account bound and once unlocked for your account you can use it on any other character. This is a good idea, also it doesn’t take that long, give it some time. The expansion isn’t even out for a month…

Didn’t get tequatl one, seems bugged as hell, pretty annoying, really…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Couldn’t find any thread about this.
I started the Nevermore Collection yesterday and noticed that I didn’t get collection items for doing Dragon’s Stand and Tequatl (others did). I did however get the item from Jungle Wurm.
So, my question now: is this RNG? So, does this drop not always?

So I was raging for 3 weeks about inactivity and stupidity of players in VB who are the reason that I still didn’t get a single bladed coat box and instead of lowering the requirements or improving megaservers you actually made it even worse by turning VB into a staging area for raids? …I don’t have energy for this anymore. Good bye Verdant Brink. Never again.
LOL, how can’t you get a single bladed coatbox? I got already 4 and salvage the rest. Just LFG and find a full map, it’s super easy. Gives a box every time you kill all 5 bosses which always happens when map is full, even with about 7mins left.

Legendary is a chore and should be a chore, let’s pour your heart and soul into it. They stated this before btw. I am excited to start my Legendary journey today for Nevermore!

After the 2nd part in Tangled Depths it’s very rushed. Story had a good start then it’s coming to an end within 1-2 hours. I was rather disappointed – especially that the moment you enter Dragon’s Stand there is about 1 or 2 real story parts till the end compared to Verdant Brink which hast about 4-6 story parts.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
rant.
Story less then one hour? I wanna see that… Takes about 4-5 hours, a couple of days later someone says it’s 2-4 hours, then you come and now it’s less than an hour. Don’t be silly, and get the facts straight.
A lot of your rant is totally overexaggerated and out of place or just personal point of view/opinion. Like it is all with those rants.
World events are easily done by checking the map starting meta events. Just check the LFG. Also, you are playing an MMO, of course you are only a small part of a whole thing. Otherwise there are tons of singleplayer games.
You are right with fractals though: nothing new, pretty silly. They should’ve added 3-4 fractals at least for release. Though I am sure they will add some in the future.
I want to repeat it again and again: DON’T kittenING PLAY FOR THE REWARDS!!! Play for fun for kitten’s sake! The rewards are fine anyway, what do you want? A legendary after completing every tiny event? Come on!
