There are LFG bugs that have been present for years and no one cares about them at Arenanet so they will never be fixed.

First of all, if you put your online status to ‘Away’ or ‘Offline’ and use the LFG, it will glitch and put you on the alternate region’s LFG instead. For example I play on EU. If I go in Offline mode then post on the LFG, it will put me on the NA LFG. It can only be fixed if you change it to green/normal and restart the client, doesn’t work without doing that.

Also if you are unable to join because it says that the map is full, then the only way to fix the glitch is to have 1 person who is currently in the instance leave. Then you can join and then re-invite them.

If you repeatedly get network errors when trying to join, that error comes up when you are trying to join an instance on the other region. AFAIK it only appears because of that.

Be sure not to post it to reddit, unless you want extreme internet drama flamewars…

sustained DPS is more important than burst.

Scholar is better sustained DPS unless strength is able to maintain 8 or more stacks of might over it. 100% scholar uptime isn’t difficult to maintain in dungeons when you’re in well coordinated groups.

You could do that in a ton of ways. The first I would suggest would be an autohotkey script but it’s not exactly something I’d advertise on forums or ingame since it’d be bannable.

I don’t either but I still think it would be the best choice. They have been repeatedly using the excuse of things being too complicated/difficult for newer players to nuke a lot of the things that a huge amount of people like[d] and I’m sick of it.

There were problems with traits in the past, of course, but there’s pretty much nothing good about the new system other than that we can change them wherever we please.

If the trait system was too complicated before, then implementing a proper tutorial for them would’ve sufficed.

Revert the trait system to what it was before but allow us to still change traits on the fly, remove the nonsense NPE and we have a deal.

I was afk for a longggg time while you and Tom were lollygagging in my instance.

Hey, I have been experiencing some problems today and they were consistently worsening between 9 hours ago from now up to about 4-5 hours ago. I had friends commenting on how they were getting strange lag spikes, but they were all in instances. Chat wasn’t behaving regularly and would occasionally delay a few seconds and sometimes animations weren’t displaying at the appropriate times making it extremely awkward and obnoxious.

I’m currently using Glasnost to determine throttling on my ISP’s end. If you know of any better ways for me to better determine this I’d be keen to know.

I normally would assume the problem to be on my end, but the fact that I had others mentioning they were having the same problems as me leads me to believe that it really couldn’t have been. We were all in the same Arah instance together, if that helps. A few others I’ve talked to were also doing Arah/FotM and had the same problems; delayed chat, skill lag, animations not displaying realtime on a consistent basis etc.

I’ll post on that thread from hereon out, but I actually got a response this time so I’m pleased.

It kinda depends on what you’re doing… and how long you take to type.

If you’re doing AC and join on a low level then nobody’s going to assume you’ll swap since it’s an introduction-type of a dungeon and lots of noobs tend to join them. If you join on a low level for one of the later dungeons like Arah, I think most people will wait at the very least a few seconds before kicking. Could be wrong but whatever.

Either way, people can do what they want. If they don’t wanna play with somebody then they should have every right to refuse them. Kicking somebody towards the end? That’s another thing and it’s pretty mean.

Also what information am I even expected to give? It’s quite simple; the problem isn’t on my end. My ISP isn’t throttling my connection, I have sufficient bandwidth to play multiple games and partake in just about any online activity that I want to, everything seems to be working fine and tracerouting isn’t showing anything irregular.

Sufficient latency, everyone on EU is experiencing the same kind of issues, the problem = their servers.

Animations delaying sometimes, skills sometimes delaying, chat sometimes taking forever to display/send messages, mail sometimes taking forever to send/receive messages, etc.

It’s inconsistent and I’m having no issues streaming/watching youtube/loading any pages online, lots of my friends are noticing lag problems since christmas eve and it seems pretty obvious that it has nothing to do with my internet connection based off of the above.

This is the best warrior guide out there for PvE. Use it!

I of course support. I have roughly a hundred infused ascended rings just wasting space. I’m a bit of a hoarder I suppose you could say…

First of all, it’d be useful to know whether or not you plan to solo/duo ever or if you specifically plan to do only full group stuff.

Because you said fractals, it makes me lean towards suggesting strength but also if you ever plan to solo or duo dungeons/fractals keep in mind strength is also much better for that.

Scholar is roughly 7% better DPS with 100% uptime and permanent fury+25 might when compared to what it would be with strength runes. Strength runes need to maintain ~8 or more might stacks over scholar in order to provide better DPS.

Scholar is the obvious rune choice for optimal DPS, but it has conditions that are tougher to meet like having 90% or more HP.

As Acotje.5689 also said above me it’s noticeably worse to use strength runes over scholar runes on a staff ele unless you are soloing specifically because you are limited to using only 2 blasts (arcane brilliance + arcane wave) with the exception of eruption (earth #2) at the start of a combat engagement.

Consider all of these facts while deciding.

Either way, both runes are a great choice. In the end you should consider getting an exotic set with the alternate rune type, but I want to throw in there that it makes it much more relieving on levels 40 and 50 if the ele is in strength runes, due to that mistlock instability with the agony constantly ticking. You can of course use either and it wouldn’t be a problem, just thought I’d mention it because those are two commonly chosen levels for daily fotm runs. :P

I personally swap between frailty/undead slaying/justice sigils depending on what I’m doing.

For my warrior in particular, I have a GS with night+force and another GS with undead slaying+force. If I’m doing FotM and get cliffside I am usually either soloing/duoing/trioing or something and will swap the sigil of justice over the GS with undead slaying and do the same with my axe that has undead slaying.

Otherwise I swap the GS to frailty+force if it’s say, molten fractal for example. I just stay with my force axe if it’s day however.

I personally don’t really find frailty to be that big of a deal honestly because out of all the variables that can come into play to affect the time of a kill, that is pretty much the least significant one. I’ve had runs where I accidentally left my night GS on and hardly noticed.

It’s a good sigil but it shouldn’t be hyped at all really. I also don’t bother with using them at all on my ele ever. I’m not sure about guards since I don’t play them, but in groups I don’t notice any issue at all with vuln on bosses as long as there’s 1 ele with lightning storm because most of the time they’ll die fairly quickly unless it’s like… archdiviner or something.

The only way you can make greatsword rush work now is if you’re basically standing underneath the target. Even still, sometimes it bugs even when you’re that close range.

Never bother with bloodlust on an ele now. Ever since the change to stacking sigils where you can’t keep them when you swap weapons they haven’t been worth using on any class, aside from those that can weapon swap and are attempting something like a specific boss record in Arah (i.e. Lupicus solo on a warrior).

Greatsword’s autoattack is slow but it completely makes up for that with 100b and whirlwind. Axe offhand is terrible because its two attacks deal worse damage than the autoattack does.

Sword mainhand is good for mobility but if you’re trying to compare DPS, it’s a lot worse than axe is.

I’m guessing you’re talking about PvP or WvW mostly but you mentioned DPS, so I’ll show you a video of mine that demonstrates a good weaponset and a nice rotation for it.

Whenever the upper management cares about paying attention to anything besides Living Story enough to allocate some of their team’s focus on fixing bugs that don’t directly affect sales (if that will happen) and also whenever it’s not holiday break I reckon.

As somebody that doesn’t care about PvP on this game, please don’t touch focus.

However to the rest of your post, I agree. There are no health potions/mana potions for instant replenishment and no gliders/mounts like in Archeage for example, so there’d be little use for another bar tbh.

I had a S/D camping ele in my fotm 50 pug earlier Iris. I asked them kindly what the kitten they were doing and they ignored me. Then when all four of them ignored me when I pinged my sandstorm and said to fight the last group of mobs at the entrance (molten facility fractal), they ended up wiping and the S/D ele was the first to ragequit.

The irony when the least valuable member of a party is the one to leave in a manner like this… as if they’re trying to make a statement.

Going to assume that you are making ascended for the purpose of PvE. If not, oh well.

You’re going to deeply regret not making your ascended set berserker if you plan to use it in PvE.

Just warning you in advance… ascended costs hundreds of gold to make and is the absolute highest tier you can get. Wasting all of that money on a suboptimal set would just be depressing.

I strongly advise strength runes because while scholar is the top-end rune for DPS in groups, it’s to be expected that while pugging / learning you’re probably going to struggle to maintain scholar bonus. Scholar is roughly 7% superior DPS to strength runes assuming 100% uptime on the 10% damage modifier, so strength runes are all-around ideal in most cases unless you’re with a very well-organised group.

Either way even if you’re pugging with really bad people, you’ll still not want to use anything in PvE besides berserker.

So… tough for me to offer suggestions on how to do it faster since I don’t know squat about necros besides vague generalizations >.>

But… if you can keep him crippled, you can just max range autoattack him with axe on a warrior and just 100b him when he does the breath blast thing.

I am not sure about necros weapons/skills but maybe if you tried doing it similarly to what I described you could shave off a lot of time :P

I think I must’ve lost dozens of solo instances from disconnects. I’ve even lost a FotM 50 solo when I was at arm seals in cliffside before.

The fact that you lose instances when you’re in them alone whenever you disconnect seems like something more significant to look into than this, because there’s not really much they can do. They kinda have to force you to patch ASAP. The very best they could do would be to have a specific time of the day that they patch (which they kinda do) and they already do send server-wide warning messages. :/

If you can get used to it, clicking on whirlwind can actually very advantageous depending on the situation. Perfect example: here.

If I weren’t to have clicked it, it wouldn’t have been as reliably precise with the direction and chances are I’d have probably slid off beyond the little rock that I wedged myself against. I strategically was trying to make sure that my movement would be obstructed to not only keep the two bosses clumped together, but to make sure my entire whirlwind would hit them.

Sometimes it’s better to click it, sometimes it’s not. Either way I’m only sharing that with you because it’s something that I learned from playing a long time ago and it greatly helped me, so I figured it may do the same for you.

2. Best Speedrun Group of the Year:
Overall SC gets it because well… they’re sadly the only ones still doing it :< and they have pumped out loads of the records that literally no one else has done/cared to try. To me their best-executed record was the Arah P3, but I’m partially biased because that’s the dungeon that I do the most of and know how much of a pain certain parts are in it.

3. Best Speedrun World Record [group-type]:
I’m honestly surprised no one remembers this or cared to vote for it! rT restricted Aetherpath 15:48 seriously, at the time this was just awesome. There have been faster runs but at the time this was miles ahead of any other group’s attempt at it. It’s a very distinguished record that I’ll never forget. I guess I’m alone with this vote :P

Besides that, I’d say SC’s Arah P3. I would vote for it, but it wasn’t nearly as much of an impact as the Aetherpath record was at the time. It’s a close call…

4. Dungeon Initiative of the Year:
The first DnT dungeon tournament of course gets it.

5. Best Visual Guide:
To me, [KING]‘s fractal guides gets it because they are visual guides. It’s a close call between these and Brazil’s Lupicus guide (which also was very thorough), but the difference is that [KING] uploaded many visual aids that teach tips/tricks that a ton of people didn’t actually know and show great group tactics for fractal encounters. Lupicus has been worn out to death and there’s been plenty of information out about him for quite some time.

6. Best Written Guide:
Wethospu’s gw2dungeons.net wins this, with Element/Tom’s Warrior Guide coming a close second. I know how much work these two put into their guides, and it’s so awesome how Tom put a section that breaks down literally every dungeon with even visual aids. If this was about an individual class, Tom would win this for sure… but Wethospu’s website has guides that cover everything, so he wins it to me.

7. Community Member of the Year:
Going to go with Nike. Not only did he take the initiative to begin these dungeon tournaments, but he’s iconic for his many build guides and has streamed countless times. He has given a lot to the dungeons community.

8. Most Fashionable Dungeon Runner of the Year:
Lilith of course. She even ran that thread for it!

9. Best Comedy of the Year (it can be anything!):
rT thug lyfe without a doubt, but kitten the other ones he made were incredibly hilarious too. Tom is the #1 comedian.

10. Epic Fail of the Year (In-game only):
The first dungeon tournament’s rT vs FGS on Arah P3 will always be the biggest fail to me lol. It was so awkward and upsetting…

I feel like this would be the perfect opportunity to award all the people they kek’d with the fractal reset. Either that, or this would just be yet another slap in the face to them.

As for the series of fractal master titles… not really a fan of adding misguided titles like this. Even though I wasn’t at 80 before the fractured update, I empathyze with all of the people who worked their kitten off to make it to the top only to get royally kek’d over. They are the only one deserving of titles like this.

However, the “One Man Armory” title is fine. It’s just that the other ones seem totally inappropriate considering what many of the people here had to put up with.

EDIT: Also… “Achieve Personal Reward Level 10 – Fractals Master”?

The 04550 build Iris mentioned has the highest dps in theory but in practice it’s nearly impossible to maintain both of the 10% multipliers, which is what i was poking fun at. It’s a nice benchmark but i doubt it ever gets used for anything aside from dps tests on dummies.

Miku, if being practical is a thing then only 66200 or 66002 counts in any situations. But as long as “absolute highest personal DPS” is taken seriously, 04550 is still the answer.

I understand the point you’re making, but honestly when and where in any team setting would you be able to pull off 04550?

I’ve actually done dungeon runs with guildmates/friends of mine recently where 5522 was working out well and was situationally best for either me or the other ele. It requires good coordination so it’s bad for pugs, but 04550 is overall just never an option because it not only relies on obscene conditions like somebody pumping out boons for you and never ever needing to dodge and the likes, but you don’t even get the conjurer trait for your LH >.>

I’ve of course heard of this 04550 build before, but what I haven’t heard of is anyone ever using it…

Either way, I give you the benefit of the doubt and I trust that you’re probably right about it being the theoretical optimal build anyways. I hope you don’t get the impression that I’m refusing to admit that I’m wrong because I promise it’s not the case, I just wanted to clarify that what I really meant was that it was the highest personal DPS that is still good to use in group settings, but even that is false unless like I said… hero team. :P
