None of the titles mean anything except “Twice-Told Legend,” which simply means you got royally kek’d by ArenaNet’s wardrobe update.
I was misty-eyed as hell on the episode where Otanashi was spending the day trying to help Yui pass on, when Hinata (I think that’s what his name was…?) proposed to her. THE FEELS.
That episode actually got to me more than the ending did, but it might have been because I was expecting a super feels trip at the end from a friend warning me xD
Loved Angel Beats… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-vhjfGS8bs <3
Whenever I hear the song I think of Hinata and a crippled Yui’s love story…
Yeah the ending was sad but the Yui ep absolutely broke me.
IKR? I wasn’t expecting the feels trip at all but god… the images that popped up after Hinata was proposing showing the relationship that would have been had they crossed paths was so touching that jhsdfaflafalfa I don’t even know how to describe it. Had the lump in my throat and everything.
As to everyone telling me to watch Clannad — I already plan to… Element suggested to me while I was finishing Angel Beats and your comments suggest that he is probably right and it’ll break my heart. We shall see@

Mmmmm kinda hard to not have huge bias for something like this. Should just have the categories and then have people manually enter names they think best qualify for title/award of it.
You can be hit while attacking with whirling axe, so you are unfortunately mistaken about that. It has no utility other than for building adrenaline, which can be done with literally everything else :P
Whirlwind is much easier to make use of if you change ground targeting to instant. You can change this in the settings: http://puu.sh/dw3le.png
It is by default on “Normal” which makes it more difficult to time it for evading. If you want to make sure that it goes in the direction that your camera is facing (forward), you can actually click on it.
GS’s #5 Rush skill is currently bugged and does indeed go past targets. If you use it in close range, however, it’ll hit. Try it. It has a very high damage coefficient.
Sword’s block is just something you’re going to have to get used to over time. It’ll at some point become more obvious when enemies are about to attack and it’ll be second nature. You’ll then be able to substitude a dodge for a block when you become more comfortable.
Perhaps warrior isn’t for you, but you’ll find that out as time progresses. At the very least you’re trying to learn which is a lot more than most do.
I’m not entirely sure either IndigoSundown. The only strategy that’s worked for me was taking endure pain, immobilizing and doing knockback with harpoon gun #4 and #5 respectively, and using spear #5 to keep distance because as you said, can’t dodge it unless you just guess when he’s going to do it.
I’m not understanding the rune/trait choice.
What do you need Last Chance for in PvE? I can’t think of anything that I’ve ever used it for other than for when I was trying to do a speed kill of Liadri once. In general PvE it’s a pretty bad choice.
To answer your main question, you should certainly get berserker ascended. There’s absolutely no reason to use soldiers in PvE unless you’re doing world bosses, so if you primarily run dungeons and fractal you’d be making a huge mistake to invest in ascended if it wasn’t berserker.
For runes, I really think you should go with either scholar or strength because it’s an immense DPS increase compared to anything else. Strength runes are generally what I’m always in unless I’m with people that I’m confident in (aka guildies) where I’ll swap to my scholar set instead.
Normally if you’re using the tactics tree then it’s assumed you’re probably running phalanx strength, but if you aren’t and want to keep the 4 in tactics then you could run with 64040. This is a much better GS + axe/mace choice because while you will be missing out on attack of opportunity, you’ll have overall better DPS against bosses from berserker’s power (15% damage when adrenaline is full), stick and move (3% damage when endurance isn’t full), and the flat +100 power you passively earn from going 6 into strength.
However, I advise 65003 for pugging because the fast hands minor trait greatly improves the ability for a warrior to adapt to a rough/chaotic situation and adjust their rotation when dodging/movement is necessary. Also, it’s generally a lot easier to survive in.

Mainhand sword’s Savage Leap, the utility Bull’s Charge, and greatsword’s Rush all very frequently bug and go straight past the targets instead of hitting them even when the target isn’t moving.
Savage Leap often times bugs at the end of the animation and will either turn around or turn to the side.
Hi Ropechef, and thanks!
Mine is easy to spot.

I was requested a while ago to solo it, so I did. It took a while to be able to get a kill of it without people interfering, but I will not lie I wiped a dozen times before this video… also, the rush attack of it is actually bugged >.<
Champion Risen Drake Broodmother solo [2:30]
Either the animation of it is very very late, or the damage + knockback is very very early. They do not match, so if you are in melee range then you cannot evade the attack unless you guess she is about to charge… hence the signet of stamina and warhorn. Oh, also the charge and when the eggs explode… they both inflict weakness and poison so activating signet of stamina was sometimes good if you get hit by them.
It is a huge pain and any class that is in berserker will get 1-shot by the charge basically unless they are like 20k+ hp. I thought maybe you guys might enjoy this so I decided to post here

I really despise the ‘’focus on all players going all-out damage’‘. It destroys variations of gameplay. Though this ain’t no news and it wont help with my arguing about it being a flawed system. Its just sad that it discourages players who prefer to play support roles instead of dps roles…
Though enough complaining about things I cannot change.
What is the focus on PvP then? Does support elementalist work in Spvp or WvW?
Problem is… I am aware that I CAN go full support, but as much as I want to play the role of a support, I don’t want to become useless. I want a reliable and effective support role… But i’m guessing that’s either not possible due to arena-net discouraging supporting or supporting is very limiting..
It really is a shame how it seems like everything is focused on the individual player instead of the groups of players!
Sounds like you’re playing the wrong game then.
4.5k-ish hours in roughly 2 years, none. Haven’t tried with mystic forge tho.
Ah, the permanent immobilize on crusher+hunter in Arah P3 because of someone or the kitten NPC targeting the hunter.
Yeah, please don’t do that… same thing with the ones in TA fwd and same thing with the novices in cliffside fractal at the chest seal (the ones with the shortbows).
^ I don’t like or care about rifle really but Zefrost’s suggestions are pretty good.
To be fair to the OP Miku, I doubt you run into situations like the one the OP described. You’re not going to get kicked for not knowing skips, stealth, or learning to play your class.
However yes, there likely won’t be a change anytime soon. Personally I’d like a party leader system to enforce some semblance of party structure. It’s just as flawed as anything else though. People with bad intentions will always find a way to grief and ruin the fun for everyone else.
Sadly for now the best advice will be to play with friends.
I guess the point that I’m getting across is that yes, the new system has its flaws, but overall to the average player in this game the most abundant nuisance to instanced party content has been eliminated.
I do agree that it’d be nice to have some form of party leader system, but yeah. No choice but to adapt.
I really like the new ones but I wish that we’d see things like a new Mordrem dungeon :/
Also, a new world boss would be nice.
I read this with one eyebrow raised for a decent portion of the post.
I can’t think of any achievements that require glitching to acquire, it took me very little time to max out my crafting disciplines to the point of feeling like something was wrong (I came from Runescape which took literally years to max out your stats).
I also find it justified for them to charge money on cosmetics every time you want to change your appearance, considering no subscription fee. What I don’t find justified is the lack of attention to long-standing bugs/glitches in the game with movement skills, NPC and boss behavior in dungeons, and various other portions of the game due to the fact that their focus is pretty much only on the gem store and Living Story aspect of the game.
I like just about everything in the game but there’s way too much potential that’s wasted and too many abandoned portions of the game that a sizeable portion of the community play and love. Those are my complaints.
As far as the grinding is concerned, I can’t help but facepalm. Oh, the innocence… you truly have no idea. :P
You actually logged into the game to kill the spider queen. Timer should start at that point.
#ssdSuperiority
Like hell if I’m gonna buy one of those for this laptop xD
That can wait until I am able to get a desktop worth buying new parts for ._.
A better solution would be to figure out what you’re doing so blatantly wrong that people feel the need to kick you, because I haven’t been kicked from a dungeon run in months tbh.
I imagine from the perspective of the people kicking you, some of them feel relieved for this system because it means they can actually progress without a single/multiple people hindering them or not contributing what is expected of them.
Previous system had its flaws, this one does too. At the very least with this one, the majority of the people that run dungeons don’t have to worry about everyone losing progress when the person that opened leaves/gets kicked.

I love jumping puzzles. The only thing that sucks about them is how you get basically nothing from the chests at the end…
Also semi-related: I love mountain goating even more. Can get to some pretty amazing places with it!
Highest place in Malchor’s Leap
:)
I don’t understand what leads you to believe that you’re safer with axe offhand than with mace offhand?
Whirling axe doesn’t do anything but spin for 3.5 seconds dealing lower damage than autoattacks… :P
By the way when you get to the level that enables use of grandmaster traits you’re going to want to use Berserker’s Power, so burst skills will overall be a loss unless used at or near the end of a fight.
Both axe and mace offhands aren’t useful for defensive utility, but at least you can use tremor to interrupt mobs with on mace. Axe offhand you don’t really have anything for.
If you’re looking for situational defense, temporarily swap to a sword offhand for an extra block when fighting something that requires it.
Greatsword’s skills also can be used to play defensively, namely bladetrail to keep a mob crippled while you need to recover, whirlwind when you need an evasion and/or to maintain distance, and even GS rush to escape a fight or also to maintain distance. All the meanwhile dealing a hell of a lot more damage.
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
You can get the recipes for these stats dirt cheap on the TP, by the way. And crafting is will be a lot cheaper than buying it off the BLTC. You don’t need to grind to get these recipes at all.
The recipes for the inscriptions and insignias are account bound, not tradeable and acquired via geodes/bandit crests.
Yes, but those recipes don’t cost much geodes, and only need to be purchased once.
It still falls under the category of what OP complained about though.
I don’t support this. I think it’s good to have to earn equipment through gameplay rather than being capable of spending real life money on gems, convert to cash, and buy off of the trading post.
What I do support is alternative methods of acquiring said equipment via gameplay.
According to who?
according to logic
Typically the rules for timing these things (among the GW2 dungeon community — check out the similar posts on this forum) is to start the timer when the enemy first takes damage. That way we’re actually measuring the time taken to actually fight the boss, and it makes an easier comparison of times. Otherwise, the records just become a contest to see who can stack might the fastest ;-)
Considering the might is used to kill the boss faster, its part of the killing process in my honest opinion. So buffing should be included in the counter.
So if I were on my warrior and used my Signet of Rage elite outside of the entrance to the arena at Lupicus and went straight to him, the timer would have already started prior to being in the arena by your logic.
Well, thankfully most people don’t agree with you I guess. No offense to you but f___ that lol.
Sandy loves farming AP. Come join him Dub!
04550 isn’t really a practical build to use though and I’m not sure if it’d be better unless you have someone else throwing out boons to you for that one minor trait in water to be good.
You should have/could have dropped arcane wave for glyph of elemental power and casted it in fire attunement so that you’d have 10% damage modifier for everything (assuming you have 5 in fire).
Here you are, all of them are from fotm.
Also I’m very sorry about your loss…
(edited by Purple Miku.7032)
I don’t know about that. I think it’d make more sense for them to have intended the impacts to only land inside of boundaries, so the area of potential impacts is reduced when used this way.
It’s obvious that it was overlooked and they didn’t intend people to take advantage of it to make all of the impacts land in the same spot, but you’re referring to it as a bug/glitch… a glitch is another word for a malfunction. Whether you like it or not, the game’s not malfunctioning. It’s not a glitch/bug.
Exploiting something unintended, yeah that I’ll agree with you on. It’s really similar to people 1-shotting Lupicus, but hey… at least this requires a certain degree of practice/proper execution to pull off and isn’t an instant-KO. I still wish neither of the two were possible to do, but I’ve kinda given up hope on them fixing any controversial issues without introducing even more.
Anyways, Fennec doesn’t deserve the derailment.

How is it glitching the game to dodge backwards and click on a wall?
There’s barely anything that you’ll ever need to range in a dungeon. I honestly can’t even think of anything besides Vahid (Melandru) in Arah P4 and maybe that dredge carrier in SE P3. Even those things you don’t have to actually range. It’s just how pugs usually do it.
Even if you do have to/want to range, rifle is generally speaking the worse option because of the fact that it doesn’t offer anything useful to a group. It’s single target and doesn’t inflict burning or have a combo field + blast finisher like longbow does.
It’s just a really trashy weapon for a warrior. There’s not much of any reason for you to be using it unless you want to roleplay as a soldier or something like that.
But ekarat.1085, if you plan to do dungeons I suggest Wethospu’s website http://www.gw2dungeons.net/ as he’s pretty much the best warrior there ever was as far as PvE is concerned (if I had to pick somebody). His website is full of very very useful and specific information for all encounters in dungeons & fractals, and if you want to make sure you’re a valuable dungeon slot you’d do well to take a look at it.
Superb. I will admit I’ve already been bored with this since Particlar’s video of it at first, but this was very very well done. Not really sure how much faster this could get tbh.
So around 100 people got to watch me struggle with logging in and out for over 20 minutes trying to rejoin my FotM instance, watch my entire friends list not work, and getting spammed network error messages and supposed connection problems when my stream was up perfectly fine and I was able to move around ingame with no issues.
After 20 minutes of pure frustration of logging out and in, changing characters, reloading the client, getting reinvited and trying to join other instances etc… I had no choice but to just accept the fact that the problem wasn’t on my end. I sat there, waiting for the servers to stop displaying everyone on my friends list as offline and being able to use the LFG + trading post again.
Finally everything starts working again out of nowhere. I rejoin my FotM 50 run and we don’t even get our daily chest at the end.
I haven’t done a FotM run other than a level 30 in the past 40 hours. This is bull kitten.
Hire more people for maintenance. It’s evidently needed.

LH is/can be useful to slot for when your group has a mesmer and the encounter heavily relies on reflects. A mesmer gains a lot from precision so if it isn’t an absolute necessity to have signet of fire/glyph, it can on occasion be helpful to slot it just for that purpose.
Also LH blinds are nice for trash + the blast finisher on the autoattack in combination with a staff elementalist is widely known for being awesome. Even if staff elementalists had slightly lower personal DPS I don’t think they’d be ruled out entirely.
This is the absolute highest personal DPS that a LH elementalist can achieve assuming might/fury/banners and 100% scholar uptime while still being practical to use in a group setting (04550 like Iris Ng mentioned a few posts down is technically the highest theroetical DPS but it is impractical to use and is only good on paper). http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fFAQJArdnMISLDWABmNAfEIQAQI9MagBjuJNVHA-TxRBABXt/o8DP9ELcgAy7BAAwJEgS1fMTJYAgDgf7bw3fz5nf+5nfe/+7v/+7vlCQPhVA-e
However pulling that off in anything other than a very organised group all on TS attempting to maximize efficiency would be pretty ambitious.
For the sake of pugging/semi-casual dungeons, this will be a lot more comfortable… http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fFAQJArdnMISLDWABWPAfEGQAwCHAGAHgR3AxpgMQNE-TxRBABXt/o8DP9ELcgAy7BAAwJEgS1fMTJYAgDgf7bw3fz5nf+5nfe/+7v/+7vlCQPhVA-e
To make it even more comfortable by the way, swap out the scepter for a dagger. That way when someone mistakingly picks up your LH or if you get downed and lose it, you won’t have abysmal DPS.

-salutes-
If you were to never tell anybody or show anybody about it then no one would find out and you would as a result not get banned. :P
That problem happens every single time doing P4 with a ranger in the party btw. The pets… ugh.
Awesome \o/
Keep up the warrior stuff.
Yes, it’s a glitch that likely won’t ever be fixed. It really, really sucks. 99% of any time I died to this boss was because of it :P
I did it on elementalist a few times, excluding Simin ofc.
Melandru is super easy, use staff and make sure to use glyph of storms in earth for the gorillas to blind them. Chill them afterwards and just try to keep them bundled together and keep a safe distance.
Range melandru with staff on fire attunement since it’s not only WAY easier but best DPS anyways. Btw, make sure you spawn 5 trees away from where you plan to fight gorillas and range the boss… otherwise they will get you killed.
I’ll make a video of it sometime soon, but gorillas don’t need to be relocated it’s just way easier to do it that’s all. :P
For Lyssa, use 26600 traits. You will more than likely fail flambuoyantly without the diamond skin earth grandmaster trait… especially because she bugs a lot and sometimes you get 25x confusion when the clones spawn and after they shatter.
Soloing orbs is super easy with elementalist with clerics. Use 0/5/0/3/6 traits and clerics, and here is the safest/easiest way to solo the orbs with ele.
Grenth is a total pain to do on an ele but it can be done. use D/D (for mobility, RTL) and lightning flash and glyph of storms in fire for 10 second aoe. The order that the wraith teleports is:
East > South > North > West > Middle, and repeat. He goes through them twice.
Mail or pm me ingame if you want to ask more questions, but I’m stopping the post here because it’s long xD
I think it’d be helpful for you to watch videos of warriors in PvE.
I made this video a long time ago with the intention of helping out newcomers. It shows a very nice weaponset and a good rotation for it:
The reason axe mainhand is always preferred on the second weaponset is because out of all 1-handed weapons it deals the most damage mainhand. Offhand axe is quite terrible; it might look like whirling axe deals a lot of damage but the reality is that the number at the end is a result of all of the hits, as it’s a channeled skill. Some people that are new to the game mistakingly assume that each number that pops up is each individual hit so it gives the illusion that you’re dealing monstrous damage when you really aren’t.
Mace offhand is generally the most preferable offhand to take for optimizing personal and group DPS, but the thing is it has no defensive utility. Sword offhand offers a block (riposte) so it’s helpful for when taking down champions/things that you can’t kill quickly.
Warhorn is typically an offhand that you should always keep on when running around in open world because it allows you to immediately remove movement impairing conditions (immobilise, cripple, chill) and maintain swiftness easier.
—
The reasons why rifles are bad:
a) single target (no cleave/aoe)
b) very very low DPS and all skills on it are trash except for volley (the third skill)
c) ranged weapons are generally a poor choice on most classes, with exceptions such as staff elementalists because they deal incredibly high damage with staff. Warrior deals very low damage with both rifle and longbow
d) lack of utility – longbows have a combo field, a blast finisher, a blind, an immobilise. Rifle has a close-range and brief knockback along with a cripple… lol.
Reasons why hammer is pretty much useless in PvE:
a) incredibly low damage
b) can’t make proper use of hammer traits because they’re in the defense tree, which is not something you should be focusing on outside of WvW and PvP.
c) knockbacks lower your DPS and pretty much all skills would be a DPS loss compared to autoattacking.
d) the utility that hammer offers just isn’t needed in PvE and would be detrimental to grouped instance content, as shoving mobs away only makes it more difficult for teammates to cleave.
e) bosses have a mechanic known as defiance to prevent them from being completely abused by crowd control skills, which is the only reason to ever use hammer.
Because of the above reasons, hammer remains a PvP/WvW weapon. The only two weapons that are miserably bad to use in PvE are the two that you are unfortunately using. :|
Guild Wars (not 2).
Oh right, miku! Join us for an amazing potential age 12 underworld, we still need a core t5. We have (well, had) cookies but still have muffins, pepsi and dub(step) left.
I have thought about it but it would likely be difficult to appreciate GW1 the way that you guys do because I never have played it before. All of the times you upload those random shorts of GW1 I watched them, but the combat doesn’t really look like much of an upgrade ._.
I don’t think I can/would understand it, the same way most others didn’t understand what it was about 07scape that had such a strong appeal to me when those servers launched. Dat nostalgia.
No, don’t use armor of earth in dungeons… that’s ridiculous advice.
First of all you shouldn’t only be using staff. Sometimes the party will lack might+fury in which case it’d be wise to use either S/F or D/F (never S/D, that’s an atrocious weaponset). I suggest D/F, as scepter is actually terrible unless you’re literally only using it to stack might. Someone using scepter should anticipate to be using LH to attack with. With focus offhand you have a lot of defensive utility: swirling winds, magnetic wave, obsidian flesh. Use when appropriate.
If you are staff, you should be using either 66200, 66002, 64220, 64202 — one of those trait point combinations. If you choose to go 6 in air, then take tempest defense for your grandmaster for 20% damage increase against stunned foes (deep freeze works wonders with it).
Your utilities should typically be arcane wave, signet of fire, conjure ice bow, glyph of storms — alternate between these mostly. As a staff elementalist, you’re going to have an easier time the faster things die. You have the absolute best AoE potential like this.
Glyph of storms used in earth attunement pulses 11 times in 10 seconds for essentially perma-blinding up to 5 targets. This is extremely helpful defense against trash mobs. Alternatively, glyph of storms in air attunement has 36 lightning bolt impacts that each inflict 2 stacks of vulnerability. This is very helpful to take down bosses as it quickly puts them at 25 stacks of vulnerability (25% more incoming damage).
As a staff elementalist, you’ll typically want to begin an encounter on earth.
Generally speaking, a nice way to begin a fight is…
Earth #2 > swap to air > use glyph of storms (lightning storm) > quickly swap to fire > put down a lava font and the eruption from earth should blast in the lava font dealing damage and stacking might/fury. Immediately after the lava font, use the third skill in fire attunement to inflict burning as it’ll proc your 10% damage modifier in the fire trait line. Quickly afterwards, spawn an ice bow and do ice storm (#4) followed by #3 if you’re in close range (#3 on ice bow is decent burst + provides a negligible amount of chill). It’s good to use in close range as it’s nearly instant cast.
Afterwards, cast another lava font followed by a meteor shower and continue autoattacking + casting lava fonts off cooldown.
Aside from that, make use of your dodgerolls whenever you have endurance for it. Dodging is 0.75s of invulnerability and just about all bosses in this game have predictable and rather slow attacks.
I wish this would get fixed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQpgpRk326E
This is a real thing but it’s been around for a lot longer than 2 months. I have friends who have shown where people are getting it as well. It’s a program that people are using for both flyhacks/speedhacks. By flyhacks, I mean they can literally float across the sky of a map at any elevation at blazing fast speeds and by speed hack it’s pretty much as you described, teleporting to different coordinates in an instant.
It’s pretty pathetic and wish Arenanet would treat this as a more serious issue because I imagine when more people discover this it’s gonna be used a lot more frequently :/

Every single time I see threads/posts as long as this, I have to sit back and wonder where the motivation for them came from.
If you leave the other player remains in the instance.
Actually. Since the instance owner change he stays if you kick him too.
So basically in a duo the one that kicks get booted and the one that’s kicked stays in. It’s pretty silly.
(Unless they fixed this recently)
edit: double confirmed. paid random guy to kick me. I stayed in. 1g well spent.
Reminds me of when I used to sell arah paths long long ago and all of my placeholders were AFK when some french person joined without reading the LFG. I wasn’t able to kick them and I ended up paying them 1g to leave the party. Took like 10 minutes to get them to leave. I won’t forget it for a long time because of how annoyed I was lol
