The irony is that, if GW2 stays in this state (lack of in-depth and interesting encounter mechanics in DEs and dungeons, no rewards), I WILL go back to WoW.
Are you threating us? Are you threating Anet? Why do you even posting this? Community will lose nothing important if you will go back to your pandas. Enjoy your casuality and free epics, spamming 1-2-3 standing behind tank. GW2 will be always for you there, ’cos there is no monthly fee, unlike you-know-what.
I am not threatening hahah. ANet SHOULD take this under advisement though, as it might easily turn into a trend. A trend they do not want. GW2 has potential, but potential has to be realized in order to do any good.
And tell me: you quote WoW for casual play? Over GW2, really?
Free epics? WoW at least HAS epics. GW2 has no decent rewards or any sort of incentive to play long term at all.
Spamming 1-2-3 behind a tank? Are you seriously quoting GW2 boss/mob mechanics over those of WoW?? Buddy, that isn’t the truth. Even if it was – 1-2-3 beats 1-1-1.
To be clear: I don’t think WoW is perfection, that it can’t get any better. But those 3 points I just mentioned (actually you mentioned them) – WoW wins.

Actually, being colored blue/red inside WvWvW, sPvP and tPvP really bothers me too. I want to be able to see my character the way I made him look.
Isn’t there some more elegant solution to this? Such as – colored capes or banners?
*Crazy Idea* Enable *Trading Between Players* Without Using Mail System
in Suggestions
Posted by: Raging Bull.5048
Please enable trading between players without mandating the use of the mail system. It is a huge convenience to be able to trade between players, not to mention that if I were roaming around in a fantasy world as my character is, there is no real reason I couldn’t pick up some cool new piece of armor, look at it, and then hand it over to them to use.
Honestly a trade panel with the ability for both parties to add items would be very useful and appreciated.
Yes please.
I agree with you buddy.
Criticism of the current PvP state in this thread has my full support. Can we get ANet to comment how they feel about it?
I COMPLETELY agree, was about to make a topic about this but you beat me to it.
Am I the only one who sees none when it comes to PvP?
I mean don’t get me wrong, its not that I don’t like GW2 PvP. I just feel that there is not enough reward for actually spending time to PvP in this game as opposed to other games.
For starters, all gear is handed to you, and the gear you get later on is just cosmetic. I know this is to provide an overall balance, but I mean whats the use in grinding hours on end for glory? To look pretty?
The lack of game types is not really a HUGE issue, but after playing the same couple maps over and over again with the same objective of capturing nodes can get quite dull.I don’t really want to turn this into an essay, so yeah.
Anyone else feel this way?PS: Again, I want to state, IM NOT SAYING PVP IS BAD IN THIS GAME. So people who wanna flame me, lol@u.
I agree with you.
I’d love the Arena Deathmatch mode, but exclusively as a rated competition.
Hello, I thought of two things that would make an aspect of GW2 better, at least in my taste. So give me your feedback and let me know how you feel about it.
1) Downed State. I dislike it, especially for PvP. Both WvWvW and sPvP. I’d like to see it removed from PvP. But if that’s impossible, at least half the time needed to stomp a downed player. Also, cut the HP of the downed player by 2/3ds and remove skills which allow you to stealth, knockdown and teleport yourself while downed. Downed players should rely COMPLETELY on a immediate support from their playmates. If they don’t offer their immediate support, it shouldn’t turn into a whack-a-mole nuisance.
2) Finisher moves. Quite boring at the moment. Why not make it more of a Mortal Combat style finishers? Specific for classes, and even ARMOR. As a warrior, I’d love to approach a player that’s already on extremely low HP, about to die, grab his head and ram it into my spiked shoulder piece of armor. Not to mention the obvious ones – split his head with my axe while downed, stick him with a sword etc.
Every class would have it’s finishers depending on the weapons you’re using and of course, armor. It would be cool if the finishers were random, and your char could perform several different finishers with the same armor-weapons combo.
Yeah, I know it’s a PEGI 12 rated game but sticking a player stomach with a flag pole? Not really innocent either.
/waits for feedback
Unfortunately, the only responses you’re going to get are along the lines of: “Designed that way on purpose”, “L2P”, “Dodge moar”, “Don’t do dungeons then”, and “go back to WoW”.
The irony is that, if GW2 stays in this state (lack of in-depth and interesting encounter mechanics in DEs and dungeons, no rewards), I WILL go back to WoW.
I completely agree with this. We need to be given a chance to react. Not having the intention of a mob painted to us in colors, but just, you know, announced clearly and in time.
World events are fun?? And difficult?? What game are you playing? Because we are definitely not playing the same game.
OPs suggestions would be nice but are very unrealistic.
For now I’d be content if mob HP simply scaled better with the number of people in the event. Once you reach the critical mass of 10+ players every normal mob dies in a matter of seconds, regardless of their numbers.
So not only do these mobs need to become more resistant, they alone need a few cooler abilities.
UNREALISTIC?! Why is it unrealistic, would you please explain, I’d love to hear it. If it’s unrealistic for ANet to do so, then they are no match for Blizzard and WoW. They have nothing to look for in the top tier MMORPG market.
Personally, I am tolerating the lacking of any depth in GW2 mechanics because it’s a new game and I’ve waited so long for it. But if this doesn’t get fixed, like, soon – my patience will run out. PvE in general is already so boring I have to MAKE myself play it.
Indeed, the real problem here is the lack of any depth in terms of engaging mechanics. The whole system is spank and spank (due to the lack of the trinity), with no brain activity required whatsoever.
It doesn’t matter if the Shatterer is the boss or the henchman, the point is that all encounters in GW2, even the dungeons, are simplistic and shallow. Take a look in the Suggestions forum, topic “We need outward scaling, not just upward”, it explains pretty much the core of it’s problem.
Indeed, the whole philosophy “you are playing it because it’s fun, not because of rewards or xp” is really… Wrong, to say the least. And that’s a huge understatement.
It’s not fun without rewards. You CAN’T eliminate “carrot on a stick” completely. While WoW overdid it, for sure, you need to find a sweet spot between too much and too little. Removing a main source of player motivation doesn’t make your game awesomely cool and original, it makes it dull.
What’s so non-standard about GW2? I could easily play any game that’s quality made and well thought through/realized.
If you take GW2 as an example of the best game we’ve ever played: count me out. It’s not even in the top 15.
TBH this should be stickied, as it hits the very core of the problem GW2 has. Not only in DEs, but in Dungeons and general questing too.
And people use AoEs, so what? The entire point of AoE is to take out large groups of things (or plant down DoT AoEs like radiation field when you know you’re going to be downed soon so their HP ticks down faster while they stand in radiation and the lava field you talented). Besides, meteor storm has unreliable damage as the meteors randomly strike within a certain radius, it isn’t like each meteor causes damage to everything in the circle.
Make mobs so that they have at least a gram of gray matter with which they can conclude that AoE = bad! So they… Move out of it?! Sounds crazy enough to work, right?
One of the original premises of the Dynamic Event system was the way they would scale to the number of people. However, in practice this isn’t working, since the game isn’t accounting for the way fighting twenty people is completely different from fighting two. Rather than altering the event, DEs are just throwing more enemies at the players or increasing the boss’s stats Instead of just scaling the numbers, events need to start treating larger groups differently than smaller teams.
To phrase that better, right now an event goes like this…
Few Players) five centaurs attack per wave
Some Players) eight centaurs attack per wave
Lots of Players) twelve centaurs attack per wave
Horde of Players) eighteen centaurs attack per wave
Convention of Players) twenty-five centaurs attack per wave….This doesn’t work. It just means that players start throwing down nuclear strikes on the centaurs to chew them up the instant they arrive. Conventional tactics don’t beat the zerg. Instead, the event needs to be clever.
Few Players) centaurs charge them
Some Players) melee centaurs charge them, ranged centaurs fan out and snipe
Lots of Players) melee centaurs, ranged centaurs, and a miniboss shaman with AoE earth magic
Horde of Players) melee centaurs, ranged centaurs, two minibosses, and a catapult
Convention of Players) melee, ranged, three minibosses, two catapults, and a partridge in a pear treeSiege us. Nuke us. Blast our groups, break our formations, bleed our lines. Make players split up to take down multiple objectives in a massive fight, and force teamwork by giving the opposition their own strategic cohesion. The zerg won’t be defeated by more zerging by the NPCs. The zerg will be broken when the opposition steps up its game, and forces players to do the same.
The result will be better for everyone. It will teach proper tactics, encourage situational awareness, and require cooperation. It will make players feel special even in a mob of players (lead the charge to take down the left trebuchet, and you’ll feel like you saved a hundred lives), and make us actually respect the opposition. And most of all, it will make a massive battle feel like a proper war, rather than just a farming run.
I’ve been saying post after post after post that GW2 needs more depth and complexity. This is a step in the right direction. Hell, make it even more complex. Make the each fighting line (melee, ranged, catapults, mini bosses) with a few more layers to it. For instance – a group of players is dispatched to destroy a catapult that’s raining heavy fire all over the battleground.
Catapults are heavily guarded, but once you finally break through to them and get them to – let’s say 50% HP, another mini boss shows up, casts a defensive barrier on the catapults, and enemy engineers rush to fix the damaged catapults. You must kill the mentioned mini boss as quickly as possible, but it’s not as easy as it sounds because he evades, heals and uses all sorts of CC – slows, knock backs etc.
Was just talking off of top of my head, but yeah, more complexity and depth, PLEASE. I crave for it. Same applies for dungeons, same applies to PvP. I hate simplicity and shallowness in video games. GW2 is better than this, it’s up to ANet to justify our beliefs.
Ok, let’s look at this from our point of view maybe?
Us “kids” (I’m 29 old, have a wife and family) who scream l2p would like to have something to do in this game. If you remove the difficulty (which already is pretty low) from dungeons you have removed content from us.
So let’s propose this:
- nerf difficulty of story modes
- rise the difficulty of exploration modesThis way, people who refuse to learn will still have content to do and people who like challenge will be satisfied also.
Better?
I’m a 31 year old mechanical engineer with wife and a kid. Are we on par, may I speak my mind now?
I don’t want dungeons easier. Nor do other people, I suppose. I want dungeons to be hard not because mobs/bosses have insane HP pools and have 2-shotting abilities who come with no noticeable warning. That’s cheap. Just like horror movies use those cheap moments when something pops up on the screen to startle you. That’s not scary, it’s cheap.
I want them to be REALLY difficult because the AI is exceptionally well designed, mobs force you to really develop strategies for them on the run (ie not every encounter is the same, even the same mob type can play in several different ways depending on it’s “character”), they force you to use all your skills and utilities and work closely with your team.
More depth and complexity is what I wish.
gw2 instace= hey lets add alot of hp and make them hit really hard because thats what makes a instance hard and also buggy…also forget about playing the way you want to.
While you might be a little harsh with the whole tone you are using… Yes, you are right. They should REALLY revamp the whole Dungeon mechanics GW2 is currently using.
Yeah, the whole pet mechanic feels broken or not complete. I agree.
Same here. In WoW Hunter pets made perfect sense. In GW2 they just feel… Off? I can’t put my finger on it but that’s how it feels. I know TWO reasons I really dislike:
1) no complete control over your pet skills
2) delay on F2 skills, aka pet unresponsiveness
There is certainly more to it but I leave this to the experts.
No, please, Arenanet. No arenas. Even Blizzard admitted (but then tried to backtrack on) the fact that introducing them in WoW was a mistake. It creates all kinds of balance problems. Don’t want it, don’t need it.
OMG! Could you people please stop bragging about this, with ONLY the Argument “Oh but even Blizzard admitted it was bad!” ….
What kind of Argument is this? Blizzard are a bunch of fools! They implemented a great Idea just into a wrong System!!!
With NO Gear Grind, NO “Gear2Win”, NO Stupid ArenaTeams, NO Healers, NO “ZOMG” Burst (if you can play), it is a good thing!
In WoW it was THE PvP Endgame… It does not have to be here ,… it can just be as valuable as doing 8v8s …. just for other types of players!
Me for one I love Tournaments, and I hate 8v8 … just sucks sometimes to fight 2v4 or so .. I would like to have competitve 2v2 or 3v3 … If it’s not necessary (like it was in WoW — Best gear you got from Arenas) …. ANYONE who doesn’t like it, SHALL not play it,… Whats the Problem?
The problem, as I already stated, is that it’s a bad idea that even Blizzard admitted was a mistake. It creates too many balance issues. A lot of GuildWars 2 is learning from the mistakes of other games and improving on them. This is a mistake they should not repeat.
As you can see – there is a sea of people that want Arenas real bad. If it was a mistake, people would not want it. Also, WoW is THE most popular/played game EVER in human history, with over 14 million subscribers at one point.
If it was a mistake they’d remove it.
Besides, ANet is in advantage here because they have no gear grind OR dedicated healers. Healers alone made PvP really… Well, let’s just say that some 2v2 matches lasted for 40 minutes.
Buddy, this is what I was complaining ever since the Beta. I really need more depth and complexity here. ANet should SERIOUSLY focus on giving us a run for our money.
As you said we are not stupid. Make us sweat!
TL;DR in bold on the bottom.
In BWE2 I played AC-Story mode as Guardian. Sure it was fun. Sure it was hard. We all know that.
So after I played my main (Mesmer) up to level 70 on the release-build I decided to visit a dungeon. Since I’ve already played through AC in beta I decided to go the next dungeon level-wise. Caudecus’s Manor (I’m pretty sure I spelled that wrong but I’m too lazy to look it up so I’ll say CM from now on). I picked up a group of 4 other randoms. We finished the dungeon fairly easily. Most of you who have already done CM will know that it is not a very long dungeon.
So we stood there with this “That’s it?” feeling as we all got the (crappy) final reward. Someone had to do something so it was me who asked: “Wanna try explorable mode?”
A bunch of “why not?”s later we went in explorable mode. We picked the Asura-route (I won’t spoiler anything more) and we played. We wiped against bosses. We wiped against normal mobs. But every time we wiped and retried we got better. We got further. And bosses went down. We learned to play together and against specific threats. Then the shock.
Two rooms in a row FULL of enemy mobs. We wiped. Multiples times. Usually didn’t kill one single enemy at a try. We were shattered. Then one of us got the great idea to run by. I grabbed my Mass Invisibility and we rushed by. Some died. I unpacked my portal and got them to where my team is. We wiped a few times between the first and second room. Then we made it through the second room full of enemies with the same strategy.Endboss. We wiped. Back to waypoint in front of the rooms of death. This time I ran by the enemies alone (with a swiftness from one of the Warriors and my invis) and portaled my whole team after me. I felt so great not only being useful but CRUCIAL to the success of the mission. I have literally NO idea how else we could’ve passed those groups. Maybe there’s a trick to it we didn’t discover so for our team it was crucial.
Then the endboss…again. I wrote down what I’ve observed the first time. Told me team what I think we can do to avoid the same fate. Then we went for it. We all knew. Who is DEAD can’t recover and run all the way from the waypoint because there are large groups mobs between us and there. Some of us died (when I say dead I mean dead…not downed). The boss had even more attacks than I prepared my team for. We didn’t only manage to overcome those threats without being prepared for them, we also managed to do full rezzes (from death, not from downed) in the middle of a kinda hard bossfight.
I don’t CARE what loot I got from this boos. What the dungeon-reward was. I don’t care how much I’ve spend to repair my armor. I’ve had SO much fun playing this and overcoming our weaknesses. Figuring out what to do…as a TEAM.
I’ve also done some TA runs since then and I finished the dungeon at the end of the personal story. But this experience I had in CM is something I will never forget. So much fun, so much thinking.
So please. Don’t make any dungeons easier. I know it’s hard to beat the explorable mode of some dungeons with a group of players you don’t know (I think TA in exp. is too easy after the first boss, I’ve only played the upper route though). But trust me. As long as they are smarter than a piece of toast you will have fun. And isn’t it either fun or challenge the thing we strive for when we game? Dungeons provided me with both.
Ps. If someone knows a trick how to get past those enemies without exploiting stealth and portals…feel free to tell me.
I’m always the first in line for difficult content. Like hardcore difficult. But dungeon encounters are “difficult” because of mob’s big HP pools and massive damage they deal. That’s cheap.
I want encounters to be difficult because enemies are “intelligent”, and their play forces you to think, develop smart strategies, use ALL your skills (hamstring, portals, barriers, knockdowns, dazes, blinds etc.) and require close teamwork. I want the enemies to bring out the best in you.
So ANet needs to come up with more intelligent AI, more complex mob encounters (not to mention bosses), remove GY rushing and integrate good rewards because, while you may not care about them, I and many others do.
I would love to see PvP and Pvmonster matches in “the bane” in the black citadel… It’s just too perfect for that. It even includes seats for spectators.
If I remember correctly there is no POI inside the bane (fighting area) itself…. might Anet be planning something in this direction already?
God, please God – let it be true.
Sorry if made already.
But this game needs Arena PVP. 2v2, and 5v5 pvp with ranked and gear just like WOW. Yes like wow. Why? Because its the most intense pvp that really test your skill when you get a good match. PVP so far just isn’t rewarding imo and seems tacked on.GIVE US ARENAS.
Oh yeah, spam heals for 30 minutes until someone slips or the game ends in a tie.
No, this game has REAL PvP, no need for kitten babbygameplay just so you can compensate. Grow a pair.
REAL PvP? Oh, you mean massive zerg-fests where you hide behind 98798798098 other players, mashing random skills in one huge particle-effects orgasm?
Well at least that’s how I see it. It doesn’t mean WvWvW isn’t super fun for someone, and the OP didn’t ask for Arenas to replace WvWvW OR Capture-the-Node modes, but instead for an ADDITION of an Arena mode.
Why would anyone oppose variety? We clearly all have different tastes, and a game that can satisfy as many different tastes as possible is just a more complete game. I’ll play my Arenas, you play your “REAL PvP” you like. Democracy.
Problems with that?
The AoE chill applied by the Alpine Wolf often takes about 5 seconds to actually go into effect from the time I hit F2 (20 times, because the first 19 did nothing), to the time I see the chill effect get applied to my opponent. This is extremely frusterating because the lack of responsiveness makes the pet ability unreliable in pvp, as well as when fighting veteran/champion mobs.
I have had the same issue with the leap from the snow leopard. Takes about 20 attempts to make him actually use the ability, and then takes about 5 seconds for him to actually leap at the enemy.
I’m aware that Anet wants to make the pets have an ability animation, but these animations are often affecting the reliability and usefulness of the pet simply because they take too long, or they apply their effect far too late.
For example. I open on a warrior with Barrage and my pet runs in. As the warrior leaves the pulsing aoe slow field, I want my pet to apply his chill. In the following 5 seconds, the warrior has used bolas, bull’s charge, hundred blades and eviscerate. As I die, I see chill applied.
Woopdee freaking doo.
When I tell my pet jump, I want him to jump, not stretch out, growl, think about why he should even listen, then jump. When I say attack, he attacks right away. When I say retreat, he retreats right away. Why when I say “USE YOUR ABILITY” does he take 5 seconds to decide to use it? I yell LEAP AT THE WARRIOR, I want him to be taking that warrior out immediately, not once the warrior is already on top of me.
Well put, and more importantly very true.
Why shouldn’t I compare games? It is my right to do so. WoW was the best MMORPG I’ve ever played and it’s only natural I want the next game I play to surpass it in every aspect. If you don’t want to participate in a discussion because of that, then don’t, who’s forcing you?
I actually mind this whole simplistic concept. There is nothing good about it. If it is strategic already, it would be even more so if we had the ability to control ALL the pet skills available. I want my dog to knock down my enemy when I WANT TO, not at some random moment that might mean nothing to me.
I love the downed state, it’s the big thing that seperates the bad players from the good players.
Yeah it’s the big thing that gives an advantage to bad player over good ones.
Indeed. It’s what benefits bad players the most.
Im r22 now and I hate the downed and water combat. It slows the game down soo much and it really just sucks. The water combat as well as the downed garbage is bearable, but I find it hard to believe that anyone would miss it if it was gone. The main problem is that 2 players that have even half a brain and know how to press 1 can beat the best player in the world (obviously there are exceptions a warrior/thief and pop quickness and crap on bad players).
Please remove it. I went back to wow today and it is a hell of a lot more fun, but the balance is not there so I will stick to GW2.
I agree with you. And that was a good comment regarding WoW – it’s WAY more fun (unfortunately, I was hoping GW2 will be the next awesome thing) to PvP there, but the class imbalance is what made me stop playing it 2 years ago.
I occasionally tune in but I see nothing has changed, so I stay away.
No, dont remove downed state.. its the big thing setting it apart from pvp at other games. ..
Agree with this.
So lts put some flying pink cats and button that spawns tank with pink monkeys on it shooting everything. Dosnt matter if it sux just let it be there to set it apart from pvp at other games -.-
Exactly what I was thinking.
thanks for the response and add duels and rated arenas 2v2 !
YES!
I definitely share your view on this idea. Leader boards need to be implemented for both PvE and PvP. People just love the challenge and love to compare themselves against others. It’s the human nature.
Agreed with the OP.
They just need to implement some sort of better reward for them to encourage more people to play them. The biggest complaint seems to be they are too difficult and time consuming for the reward that is given.
They are also kittenkitten boring, dungeons in this game are possibly the most boring dungeons ive ever experienced in an mmorpg.
No im not qq’n about difficulty, ive completed arah exploreable and although hard is doable, but literally i feel no desire to do it again as it was incredibly boring.
Indeed my friend. Boring/simple/not challenging/not imaginative or innovative. It can be fixed. That’s what I hope for. GW2 seems to be designed with younger players in mind. Sure, have a FRACTION of content that’s so watered down and simplistic, easily accessible. But give your veterans a run for their money too.
I agree with the OP, especially when he uses the term “cheap tactics” because that’s what they really are.
Simplistic, shallow mechanisms: mobs hit for a huge amount of damage, and they have huge HP pools. Other than that they do nothing special, really.
I LOVE difficult content. Like, really difficult. But difficult in terms that I must use my intelligence and careful strategic planning, along with a tight team work to overcome an obstacle. They way it is now – it’s just chaotic. That’s exactly what bothers me in WvWvW too, but that’s another topic entirely.
So make us think, make us plan, make us discover – we can take it, I promise.
Yes, please, this is my biggest gripe with this game. This alone would improve the gaming experience by 500% for me. Open world PvP (a real one, not WvWvW) – spontaneous and unpredicted as it is – is a perfect feature for my taste.
This… Oh man, this…
So for all those against such thing → PvE server, everything stays as it is now, no harm done.
Yeah that’s fine and all, I mean the defending thing you mentioned, no doubt.
But to say that the PvE in GW2 is amazing and exciting? Seriously? I’d give it bearable at the most, even then I’d have to be generous.
^
while not affecting me personally because i couldn’t care less about glory i have team mates that refuse to play defensively against non-serious enemies because they will end the game with 50points while everyone else sits at 200
the whole glory gain system is moronic in tournaments as the whole group should obviously be rewarded equally
Never thought of this, but there might be something to it.
IMO the losing team should receive 0 points. It’s ridiculous to reward a team that hasn’t won. The winning team however – maybe this guy is right. Everyone worked for that win and perhaps they should all be equally rewarded.
Should I leave the Mine undefended in order grab the Svanir kill?? You get what I mean.
The idea of sPVP is to play as a team. Its not a solo game afterall. Being able to revive your ally can be crucial in a game.
You can have a revive without a downed state.
BINGO!
I’d like to see duelling at some point. You could in GW1, why not in GW2?
Arenas can suck it, however.
I would enjoy arenas. Having them in GW2 won’t hurt you as you can simply… Not play arenas?
It’s selfish to be against an additional option, an additional feature that can’t harm you in any way, while some might enjoy it immensely.

It’s long because it has many suggestions.
They have been added over time on request of various GW2 players, it would not be fair to have some included and some denied. They’re just that – suggestions. It’s up to ANet to make the final call.

Graphics:
A way to see through the nuclear overkill of spell effects for melee (we can’t see when to dodge or our characters in big groups). Let alone see the tiny red circle lines. Bloom effect is rather overkill in some places, i do like the style used but an option to tone it down would be really appreciated without effecting other nice shaders as it just makes the game ‘foggy’.
Misc:
Physics: Running off an edge should have momentum not make you stick straight to the floor below you Similarly movement while in the air is very floaty and jerky if you try to move/stop moving

If a member logs in visible it should let you know they have come on line, also it should tell the guild when you log off.
When you join a guild you should be notified that you need to click represent to interact with the guild and earn influence for the guild.
Show guild members on map (different color / icon if they are not in your party) or allow larger party’s for PvE world events. (not dungeons / wvw)
Option to appear offline to guilds you are not representing. (i.e. I’m on an alt that is in another guild, but don’t want to be visible to guild of my main.)

Camera:
Mouse Zoom / FOV change. Let us zoom out more and increase the FOV
Allow First Person View
Fix the Camera: make it more fluid, less awkward, fix camera getting stuck and zoom in/out when it “hits” an obstacle
UI:
In some cases the friends list doesn’t remember nicknames & resets.
Allow movement of UI elements.
Option for self health bar above / below target heath bar.
Within range indicator below 1-5 buttons is inaccurate.
World Map: Turn on / off items from legend. Would help trying to locate that last POI or Vista for a zone that you just cant seem to locate. (ie hide/unhide Points of interest, vistas, and hearts individually)
An apply button for trait points, as well as a minus, so you can work on a build prior to applying it.
Character specific keybinds (I don’t need F2-4 at all on a necro, but as close to me as possible when playing elementalist)
Reorganisation of the skill bar (same skills, but if I want weapon skill one in position 5, I should be ablte to move it there.)
Tactical minimap (toggle option) change minimap behaviour to:
left click: ping
left click (hold): draw
right click: personal waypoint
right click (hold): move map
Improve Fog Of War make it more definable to show the areas not yet explored compared to explored areas
Tooltips for portals on the map listing their destination.
The ability to bind to mouse wheel up/down
Chat font size currently scales with your UI it should not
The Elite Skill that is included in Deluxe Version should have a tooltip on it stating how it can be obtained
See how many of each collectible you have in their tooltip
Change the white text color of boon stack number because it’s really hard to see when there are 2 digits. The boon icon is already white (in the background), and the number is also white.
Casting / Charge bar below target bar. (ability to see when target is casting)* Controversial
Target of Target display
WvW:
Queue for all 4 WvW areas.
Show what battleground I am queued for when queued for only one.
Show Queue time. both how long I have been queued and estimate.
Ability to see WvW score when in overflow.
overflow wvw. Since on many servers at night wvw is full for everyone, why not have an overflow instance. That instance would only happen if all 3 sides are full, buildings would not be upgradable and state of the map would not count toward server points.
Join from overflow < Most common complaint around Also seems quicker to join WvW from portal rather than queuing via menu
The ability to donate for upgrades instead of having one person purchase the entire thing. A bar can appear showing how much has been donated before completion of the upgrade. Essentially allows pooling of resources by the entire team, instead of one person investing more heavily than everyone else.
Auto-Loot bags, or do away with bags all together. Miss them all the time, they contribute to lag as well.
Make the ammunition for siege weapons 1 supply, i.e if you fire the trebuchet then it costs 1 supply and will keep costing supply until you run out or someone resupplies you, this way people can’t spam theses powerful weapons.* Controversial

General:
Left over heart quest items. (stuff left in inventory after you complete quest.. nothing else for them) Let me vendor em as trash.
Key Bind 3 Different keybinds. Loot, Resurrect and Interact. Sometimes I want to resurrect rather than looking an item or chopping a tree etc.
Toggle to show items in environment, rather than having to hold down ctrl.
Escape shouldn’t stop you from running.
Ability to link everything to chat. Gear, Recipes, Skills, from Preview Pane as well.
/who for the zone.
Vendor auto filter which is on by default. If you cannot use it because of profession (not level), do not show it.
Telegraph circles (NPC target circle) needs to be more visible.
Show titles under player names instead of only viewing them when you click the player
automatic town clothes in cities option
Town clothes shouldn’t swap out when you take falling damage.
Lower waypoint traveling costs
on screen FPS & latency display options
back/cloak items don’t show in some cases
bigger selection of underwater helms
bigger selection of cloak & back items
if I hide helm/shoulders in game on my character they should be hidden in character selection as well. In addition, character selection armor should show accordingly to where you logged out – sPvP, WvWvW, PvE
View your own portrait on the UI (next to the party list)
Provide each race with starter armor representative of their unique cultural aesthetic
Allow other races to purchase armor inspired by the other races
Items soulbound to another character in the bank should say which character they are soulbound too.
Make dungeon tokens bind to account, having to grind tokens on every single character for skins is not fun, Why can’t my ele earn armor skin tokens for my mesmer?
Too many NPC’s walk away and close dialog to fast while trying to read what they’re saying.
Double click from Inventory to bank should automatically stack like items.
Warning notification for items you’re about to salvage. I think some items do this but not all.
Mini pets should run faster to keep up with you character.
Your characters weapons should be shown in the character selection menu
Mounts
Inspecting other players with a privacy option to disallow inspection.
New Mechanics which aren’t in the game in any form:
An item that allows u to capture a skin into it. For example you have a steamblade, you use that item on it and you get a “steamblade skin” which you can then trade/use/gift/etc . This is slightly different than transmute stone as you do not need the destination item.
fishing in the game
Plastic surgery (for gems) allow revamp of characters face / hair choices.
Personal log of recently encountered skills, items, enemies, areas etc. Similar to the help window in Guild Wars. This log should be clickable & allow you to view the item in the wiki, the wiki should open in game instead of alt-tabbing you out of the game.
Custom Chat Channels (ie allow users to create custom chat channels with an optional password for access).
Ability to dye hair & Also lipstick
Armor “decay” in terms of looks only – scratches, blood splatter etc over time as you use them. Gives you that gritty look many would like, instead of looking all shiny and new. Also shows that you have some history with that current armor set which kept your head on your shoulders all this time. Option to toggle on/off
Guild Recruiting bulletin board – Allow guilds to post an advertisement on the board while allowing users to browse the guilds & apply to join them. For an extra fee allow guilds to higher a town crier who will advertise their guild to passersby.
more skills per weapon (ie, let us learn different skills to choose from for our weapons)
(edited by Raging Bull.5048)
I would love to see a panel for pet customization, maybe on the next expansion. I’m talking, being able to do this like this:
-Dye your pet. Have dyes unlocked, use them on your pet as well!
>Channels for: Eyes, skin, feather, beak, claws, spikes, fur, tail fur, (Black Widow marking), etc.-Give them character! Enable us to adjust the creatures Tail size, type, length. Beak type, teeth type. Does it have a scar on it’s face, mittens on its feet? Let us make our pets an extension of our very own characters!
-Outfits. Lol, maybe even give us pet outfits in the gem store. That’s a little silly, but I’m sure people would eat it up! Imagine your Moa with a Santa hat! Or your drake with a top hat! What about your Hyena with a shirt? “Dwayna no! That’s torture!” That would of course, be a town only feature, much like Town Clothes.
Would be kind of silly if you saw a Jingle Bear running at you in Spvp; not like it hasn’t happened before… xD
Ideas? Suggestions? Post them!

I like it. Not sure how additional CUSTOMIZATION can break the immersion. It improves the immersion, as you are able to make something more suited to you personally and unique.
