Whats the uk equivalent time for the test?
-7 hours I think?
So 5 to 7 then 10 to 12
Cool, cheers
Whats the uk equivalent time for the test?
I haven’t been able to replicate what you are seeing at all, but if you are having problems, hit the default settings button and it will be at pre-patch settings.
Ignore the stats on the order weapons. You can get stats you need from many other ways, including crafting, wvw, loot, dungeons etc
Season1: I think unlikely due to the work involved, however it is much requested. If they can find a way to scale it down and rework the entire year into manageable and playable content, it would be greatly welcomed and also bridge the gap for new players. Right now, the whole missing season is has left a bit of a mess.
Season3: No confirmed news, although I believe it was implied content beyond HoT would be via Living Story
It’s not the case of flicking a switch and hey presto it is fixed. If it’s a deeper issue, then it will take longer. They will want it fixed as quickly as possible – it’s not in their interest to delay a bug fix for something like this – but, it’ll be when the fix is ready, as it should be.
Guilds would be my request, then they can have 9 weeks of specialisations. I’m very curious about how Guild Halls will be implemented that will be fair to small guilds.
9 is a pretty healthy number and gives a nice balance for all weights. I’m not sure what they could add that the game is desperately missing.
The amount of potential depth each class has has yet to be fully explored and hopefully new specialisations will keep explore that. My only concern is how quickly the devs seem to give up on new ideas – I hope specialisations will be more than a 1 or 2 trick pony.
They are the only books. The wiki is the best place to read lore outside those.
Edge of Destiny is the worst written, but is a better portrayal of the characters and at least has more dragon champions and the appearance of one elder dragon too.
Ghosts of Ascalon is the best by far. It also does more justice to Ascalon than GW2 does.
Sea of Sorrows is a mixed bag. It fills in some nice gaps and ties into some things in Lions Arch like the monument hunt, however the central character is so bland and uninteresting, it brings the story down.
They are all worth a read if you like the lore and they are better than the in game story imo. They just aren’t great literature, but I doubt anyone expected otherwise.
@Tomerant.2701:
I didn’t expect the camera change to have such an impact on my gameplay.
I just love it.
I’ve been playing with the FOV settings. After 5mins, I can’t go back to default and I previously had no interest in the camera changes.
The effect for me is breathtaking. Really opens up the world.
I agree the bugs have diluted this patch, but the good stuff is still good regardless. and the camera changes have taken me by surprise in a good way.
I prefer it as it is. It’s a nice symbol of the successes they had trying to develop this ‘living world’
A lot of people really like the camera changes. Its been a big asked for change.
Yes there have been an inordinate number of bugs. It certainly wasn’t hyped though. Not by Anet anyway. This was mostly about the camera and stability changes plus the streaming client.
Its been reported as a bug in the main bug thread in the bugs subforum.
I can’t imagine this was intentional.
It’s mentioned in the main thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Bugs-from-16th-Patch/first
I need to do the achievement myself this week, so I’ll test it then. I know the boss bugs out occasionally and has done so since it first got released – sounds like you’re experiencing an existing (and annoying) bug.
Can’t access the Hall of monuments just a white screen and a error then sends you back to the log in screen.
Yes, this is the same for me. Clicked stone, HoM popped up, LA popped up, game crashed.
I think this was the case beforehand. I know my ele had huge issues wih aoe targeting damage on him. In the end I gave up and did single target stuff
One of many bugs. More info in the bugs forum
That’s…..an impressive number of bugs.
“..no one around here wants any toast. Not now, not ever. No toast. … no buns, baps, baguettes or bagels, no croissants, no crumpets, no pancakes, no potato cakes and no hot-cross buns and definitely no kitten flapjacks.”
“ah so you’re a waffle man!”
As it’s also the 10th anniversary of GW1 this year, some sort of nostalgic theme/item would be appropriate.
Perhaps a set of minis based on the original heroes or henchman.
Shield block on warrior. Mostly because it is doing exactly what a shield should be doing….blocking!
It amuses me to see Karka kill themselves from this when traited to reflect projectiles
They do not have the resources and tech to do this according to the latest info supplied from a dev.
With an expansion on the horizon I doubt this will be a priority. They may do it down the line, but i suspect in the timeframe for this unlikely event to happen, you could reroll and reachieve everything again.
No official statement and there almost certainly wont be one.
However, it is reasonable to expect a repeat of the quests next wintersday
I would say your comparison is inaccurate. The dog is punished by an authority, not by another dog. Reporting them is the best way to do that as it gets Arenanet to punish them. Getting into an argument or getting a rise just feeds them even further and generally just increases the level of frustration.
Block, report, move on. Never acknowledge them – and I mean directly acknowledge
Report, block and move on. If it was genuinely an accident, then it is one of those things – certainly nothing of significance.
It’s an online video game where this is rampant sadly- such behaviour isn’t worth acknowledging or dignifying.
I have no issue either way having done it 3 times, but I can see why it would make sense to make the change.
I’d have liked to see at least Southson added though, just to keep it relevant to the game beyond the Karka Queen. It’s such a beautiful zone, it just needs a bit more love.
The game was always intended to have grind, even when they first developed the game. They didn’t lie, people just misinterpreted the way they said it. Unfortunately due to the way people (in general, esp on the internet) interpreted what was said out of context in places, it caused a backlash between Anet and the community which has had negative connotations on communications to this day.
There is a widespread discussion more recently here for further info
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/No-grind-philosophy/first
It is a beautiful weapon in its own right. It is a shame they are losing focus on one of their core environments and so stunning in art terms (take note Rift!!) though.
Still one of my fav legendaries..but if they do update it, i hope they dont go overboard and ruin it like Moot. Still irks me a little to see what they did with it.
Anet wont tell you, however there are enough precedents to confidently say it will come back at some point, if only for a short period of time.
I found it fun from the bet go, although as you leave the starter areas and gonout to explore, you probably enjoy it a lot more.
The story is pretty hit and miss, but i have enjoyed their more recent chapters a great deal more.
Once you hit level 80 there is a great deal to entertain you if any of is your sort of thing and you get downscaled in lower level zones to keep everything relevant.
- wvw and pvp for the competitive mind
- world bosses
- collections and achievements
- jumping puzzles
- cooperative zones
- guild challenges
- dungeons
Some of this you do as you explore, but the real advice is take your time and enjoy the game around you.
I think a lot of ppl will be hungry for this info. I suspect they are hesitant to let ppl know too soon in case of early stockpiling of something, but Im sure a deep dive will cover some of it.
They haven’t budged much in price last few months if I remember rightly.
Until they get down to the last few , I doubt they will change much either
Just curious, what is CDI?
It was a discussion thread around a specific topic with extremely strict posting guidelines that was designed to encourage constructive proposals that would help develop new features for the game.
There’s an entire subforum dedicated to them if you wish to see more
There is no information regarding purchasing HoT with Gems in-game, one way or the other. There is information, however, regarding the Revenant. You absolutely will need to purchase the expansion to be able to create this new profession.
Good luck.
Actually, there is information about purchasing the game, as opposed to acquiring it for gems. (Emphasis added for clarity.)
Q: Is the expansion “buy to play”?
A: Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is a paid expansion to Guild Wars 2, but once you buy it, there are no subscription fees. This means that you can continue playing and access future updates for Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns with no subscription fee.Since gold can be acquired simply through playing the game, using in-game currency is not a form of payment in this context.
And yes, owning Heart of Thorns will be required in order to create a Revenant.
I would suggest updating the FAQ to highlight the the fact that the gem store will not be selling the expansion. Clarity is better than amibiguity
How about we wait until it is released?
100% this.
No possible judgement can be passed until it’s out and being played by the masses. None at all.
We can speculate, we can contribute constructive ideas…but it is simply is not possible to judge the scale or quality of the expansion at this stage when so much detail is yet to come and it isn’t even out yet!
Also, I recommend playing a Lotro expansion and seeing how small and insignificant expansions can really be sometimes..
Had an inkling after the CDIs and his own forays onto the forum dried up, especially as the CDIs were very much his initiative.
It’s a convenience thing- It helps alts pool cresta dn geodes together. exactly the same as the QoL reasons for dungeon tokens which generally had less stacks being held onto.
Would like to see these added to the wallet
12-15 is def enough. But it is not always about numbers. Bottom lane attracts people due to its ease and proximity to the wp and also if any of the next lanes fail, they can get more crests with their dissectors as the boss chain comes round.
Mid lane is a bit more involving with positioning and taking down pustules for faster dps. It also benefits the most from reflects. If it fails, top lane is often ill prepared for the mid lane boss.
Mostly it fails if people don’t listen to the strategy. That can be down to many things – new players (not their fault), language barriers (not their fault), disabled map chat (their fault). Stacking in bottom is an issue, but experienced small groups tend to get the job done in the other lanes, so numbers do not tell the full story.
You wont get an official response at all.
However, it’s looking likely a class is getting rifle in it’s speicalisation.
I forget which
Some of the crafting mats for Ascended can be crafted and sold on for profit
Could always make an underwater weapon from it
I have used the successfully on my ele, but not as a full set. It’s not an optimal or “meta” build, but it works for how I want to play my ele.
Alright cool. I’m just starting the lvl 20 stuff so I think I should be fine for a while, right?
Yes, just stop at A Light in the Darkness (level 60)
Is this about the much anticipated for over a year, jewelcrafting to 500 update?
sorry, i couldnt resist. Just out of curiousity, is there any kind of update today? (sorry if i missed that information elsewhere)
The first post in this thread will answer that for you
I totally agree that we want Anet to release a working update instead of a broken one, honestly who actually wants a broken patch?
But the most frustrating thing here is the lack of a new release date now. They REALLY built up a ton of anticipation for this. People have been waiting since launch for these changes. To go from that hype to, “If we get more information about an anticipated timeframe for the build’s release we’ll try to provide that info in advance”, is a huge disappointment.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Anet is screwing the pooch here. I understand that crap happens and there’s nothing you can do about it. This is a huge bummer for the players as well as Anet. But perhaps in the future Anet could refrain from hyping an update before they even know whether it’s going to actually work or not yet…
Perhaps it was working and they realised at the last minute more time was needed. They aren’t giving a timetable because they don’t have one. A delay is no major issue because it will iron out the problems they have clearly stumbled into and I disagree they have hyped it up big time. The players over-hyped it up themselves, not Anet.
It’s probably not something that is either easily coded or considered a high priority versus the multitude of things on their to-do list. An expansion, new camera system, re-balances – that’s going to be taking up all the time of people required to look into this I’d imagine.
Also, where does the line stop? Helmets? Gloves? Boots? All armour? I know it sounds ridiculous, but when a precedent is set, the flood gates of demands will inevitably open. That’s likely another reason against them devs doing such a thing.
Oh yes. In answer to the question, store updates will be coming out soon, but likely not today.
Again, thanks for your patience!
What are you doing up at this hour?!? :o
I’m in Brighton, England, for meetings with my EU team members. Then on to EGX Rezzed in London Thursday through Saturday.
Well that’s explained the extra U in rumor. You are probably posting from one of their machines and their spell check “fixed” it for you.
Actually, I used to live here, and for me “armour” really does have two “u’s.”
I have to consciously remove the second “u” in all sorts of words. (One of the founders of ArenaNet gently told me we needed to go with “armor” back when I first started writing website content.)
Glad to see you sticking to your roots! I hope Chris Whiteside stills remembers his extra U as well
Thanks for keeping us updated on the patch btw. Better that it’s delayed and working than released and broken.
I have to say it calmed down in game very quick. I see a very small proportion with them compared to the rest of a group at say Tequatl or Silverwastes.
I’m not seeing the issue really. I don’t like them, others do. Certainly isn’t something I get offended over in a video game though.
