Rangers seriously need a nerf because when I meet 4 I can only kill 3 before the 4th downs me.
Also increase drop rate of badges from Ranger class.
I’d be fine with mounts as long as the majority of waypoints are removed.
One per map and that’s about it. Mount would need at leasy 60% speed buff tho.
but by the time I get one everyone will have one too
^ I never understood that mentality.
If others have one so what?
“others” will have one of everything in the world at any point, but the fact others have something doesn’t make it any less valuable.
An item’s value shouldn’t be based on its rarity among people but rather it’s quality itself.
Yeah it was about time they decided to fix the world boss fiasco.
It might be a bit late for that tho, look at rare prices. It should have been done immediately.
Anet when something you make is exploitable just remove it until you make it unexploitable.
Letting it there until a fix is made accumulates damage so that when a fix comes the economy will still be scarred.
I just want to give a thumbs up on a great build. I don’t use it because I pvp often and having no condi removal is a no-no, but if I didn’t — this would be a 100% go to for me if sword got fixed. By fixed I mean it feels laggy and there are awkward stalls in the attack chain in comparison to the GS.
Overall this is a good build and it’s nice to see someone utilizing the real strengths of the class and not having to rely on AH.
Thanks for your feedback
I tried this build and although I haven’t gathered all of the gear for this build I’ve found that it works very well in dungeons.
I’m not a huge fan of using the one-handed sword however so my question here is this: Is it possible to use a mace instead with this build or would I have to change something around?
I tried Mace and it works wonders too, but I believe it has less DPS than sword.
The good thing is your symbol will crit a ton so when you add that on top of auto’s big hitters and prot strike’s also big hit…
I personally hate the long cast on autoattack so I prefer Sword (and because of teleport on 10s cd), but it’s just my preference.
However if you’re looking for that heavy armor in your face brawler you’d be better served overall with a guardian.
If you’re looking for a ganker you’d be better served with a thief.
The warrior is a sub-par choice for any role.
Warrior actually gets the best of both without their flaws, from a WvW perspective.
It cannot facetank as much as a Guardian but it’s quite resilient and if things get bad he can escape which is fundamental in WvW, while Guardian is not able to escape death.
When playing alone or with small teams Warrior can do his best then rush away at low health, Guardian at low health dies.
As for Thieves.
It does not have the mobility of a Thief but most times he will get away alive (if a good Warrior), while Thieves are 2-shot material.
Burst is great on both, and on both its predictability only depends on the skill level of the player: if good it is nowhere near easy to avoid or to predict, good Warriors/Thieves will waste your CDs before they burst you when you the least expect it and still deal big dmg while not bursting.
I have all 3 classes and I got a few thousands more kills on my Warrior than on my Guard/Thief because it simply has the best tools of both without having a major weakness that guarantees your death in some circumstances.
In PvE though I feel Guard > Thief > Warrior.
People die for Guards in teams, you can facetank almost anything forever (something I really miss with Warrior) and it’s very hard to down let alone die.
Thieves are very good to have in any team due to stealth, will rarely die if played evasively and damage is pretty solid.
Warriors hav big dmg but lack sustain; on my Guard and Thief I can solo Lupi forever but Warrior simply lacks the sustain to do so.
I believe Warriors should get a form of Guardian’s Altruistic Healing so they have the sustain required to play endgame PvE without being forced to roll away from DPSing after some damage.
As for sPvP we’ll see next patch with the big chances incoming for Thief (Mug nerf) and how Boon Hate will work.
If Warrior could get through the boon barrier of the 2 most OP classes I can see it earning a slot especially since Thief’s burst will go down a notch.
This time I have to say the blame goes on both sides.
Even though not informing yourself what the Unique flag means before buying gives you part of the blame, I believe Anet did not make it clear what Unique meant.
I mean, I’ve discovered this thing by using buildcraft site else I would probably have fallen for the same mistake.
I had seen the Unique tag, but I simply thought it meant “unmatched”, “of rare quality” etc.
Unique doesn’t only mean that you can have only one.
When you buy an ascended item the game prompts you with a window asking if you’re sure to buy.
Why not add a red-texted “Note! You can only wear one of this specific item on a character. If you have another copy of this item, bear in mind you cannot wear it together with this.”
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
Warmaster Grast is a hammer Guardian using autoattack mainly.
The problem is that every time he’s using the third part of autoattack (with long cast time), he will not use the bubble to protect the team in path 3.
This basically makes the encounter RNG-based; if he’s using that autoattack (very likely) he will not protect the team, if he’s not he will.
Also, in general, I think that having players rely on AI for a boss fight isn’t a very good idea.
AI in games will rarely be using his skills efficiently and depending on the situation, this is even more true in GW2 that is a reaction-based game and using skills in a timely manner is fundamental.
If instead of him we got an environmental weapon that casts the shield we could get a player to use it timely.
I’ve gotten three toons to 80. I get to 80, and am completely at a loss as to what to do. SPVP seems pointless to me, or at least nothing seems appealing or rewarding about doing it. WPVP seems equally pointless – a few resources go back and forth, but for the most part it all stays the same and there are no real rewards that I can see.
What does everyone else do at 80? What is the point of these “fractals”? Why do you even need better gear? For the look of it alone?
Any help is appreciated.
The point of gaming is having fun.
To some it’s challenge, to other it’s JPs, to others PvP etc.
As a general rule though, no MMO is fun if played alone.
Make friends and have fun together.
I went through tickets myself and this is the official stance apparently:
“As a player myself, I can certainly understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you’ve spent quite a bit of time in the dungeon.
Our Live Response team is aware of and actively reviewing issues related to dungeon runs. They recently made a few changes to dungeon mechanics and they’ll continue to do so in an effort to resolve issues. We currently do not have a timeframe for the implementation of any additional changes, but we want to assure you that the situation you described is a known concern and is under active dev assessment.”
Read: We don’t punish kickers but we don’t like them so we’ll implement a solution sometimes in the future.
I seriously hope the LFG tool will let us give feedbacks to players we play with.
If players are bad we can give negative feedback else positive so when I invite someone I know what kind of person I’m dealing with.
Anet’s mistake was making the health pools so wildly different.
A Warrior might have 80% health than an Ele yet what class has the most OP build in the game with tons of survivability?
Yup, that’s right.
Good luck in Arah then, where vets will Killshot you for unblockable 30k+ dmg.
But yeah, GW2 needs more constant difficulty rather than easy content and then sudden oneshots.
When people say “you’re playing the game wrong” it’s usually referred to people who ask or expected things that weren’t supposed to be the focus of this game, like grinding the same mob/dungeon, obtaining gear through farming instead of token-based system, want to be locked into one role instead of being all 3, want passive combat or threat-tanking mechanics, etc.
You can’t step into a Soccer field on horseback, take the ball around with your hands and demand you get score for shooting it over the crossbeam.
Different games, different audience, different rules.
Meh… Sanctuary’s CD needs to be at least 60s base to be worth using.
It won’t work against players (stability) nor any mob with unstoppable (basically all mobs you would need to use Sanctuary against).
Here are the facts, you be the judge.
Guardian’s mobility is largely offensive-only, composed by 3 skills and most of it is realiant on having a target to work (JI, FB).
Guardian can cover a distance of 600 (leap of faith) without a target, plus 1800 if a target is present in the direction they need to move to, for a total of 2400 when a target is present.
Guardian has no disengages.
Guardian has issues with removing movement impairments unless speccing into it.
Warrior’s mobility all works in both ways (offensive and defensive), with a total of 4 mobility skills none of which requires a target.
Warrior can cover a distance of 1200+600+450+600 = 2850, in any direction he desires.
Warrior removes Immobilize every time he uses one of those skills and has 3 tools to remove Cripple/Chill (warhorn skill, heal skill if traited, signet of stamina).
And to the topic maker, what the kitten man? I don’t know your name at all but I know alot of other warriors names that are extremely good, and none of them claims to be the best warrior of GW2. Chill out, go play. You’re not the best warrior in GW2, undoubted.
This.
Proclaiming yourself the best Warrior in the game with zero evidence is like stickying a target on your head saying “please toss cakes on my face, I’m a clown”.
Sorry, you can’t have it both ways you have to choose which you want to be high. It’s a choice of high support or high dps not both!
There is no need to pidgeon-hole yourself into one role.
As I said above the main mistake of people is going “full-something” and neglecting other important aspects of their classes.
This build gives you both big DPS and Protection/Anti-projectile uptime to your team thanks to HtL/SoJ/SoA/Wall.
Try it yourself.
I’m bumping for great justice. This build is amazing, I feel like my DPS has doubled and I have left my party wondering where all the might came from three times already.
Haha, I can relate.
The good thing is that it also makes your Scepter DPS great, not just sword.
If you have a Warrior in the team almost all your scepter hits will crit and things will go down very fast even from distance.
I did swap out Honorable Shield for Empowering Might to make it more offensive, and because I felt my guild parties didn’t really need the extra protection it provides most times.
Yeah this build is very adaptable.
I’ve been using 5 different versions and they all worked wonders.
RHS is a must have for uber DPS plus the support coming from the offhand is spectacular, I just can’t think of GS non crits for 600 dmg when with this I’m hitting 2k minimum due to almost all crits.
I see your point.
Strangely, burning is the only DoT without any special effect.
From a medical perspective burning initially causes dehydratation and loss of protein, so it would make sense to have a side-effect like a loss of endurance or a decrease in damage.
Perhaps something like -3% dmg and -10% endurance regen would fit.
I believe at some point Anet will make them available through Fractal vendors.
Anet is famous for adding more (and usually easier) ways to obtain items after a while, I for one will just wait until I can get every endgame item from what is supposed to be the endgame (Fractals).
I’ve come to the point of being so curious of why Rangers are so weak in all sectors that I made one, finished the tutorial and tested a few things in sPvP and vs dummies.
Turns out:
- To kill a standing dummy my pet needed 15 seconds.
- To kill the dummy running in circles around the wall, pet needed 30 to 47 seconds.
- Vs the moving dummy pet failed 4 skills and multiple attacks since some moves lock him in place for a while and the dummy went out of range.
Pet lost 50% to 66% of his DPS against a moving target dummy just because skills lock him in place and some autoattacks fail.
And that is just against a running target who deals no damage, what about against players who move a lot more (mobility skills), dodge, block, blind, deal damage…
How much is the Pet DPS loss vs a player? 80%, to be optimistic?
Basically half of the Ranger’s DPS is reduced by 80%+.
This means a Ranger actually deals 60% of the damage it should due to Pet’s failure to deliver his DPS.
It’s unbelievable for me that you guys accept this situation.
Now since I doubt AI will ever be improved to be efficient vs players (technology limits), the only solutions I can see are:
1) somehow making the pet stick to a target in a way that it’s impossible for him to fail skills or attacks by design (unless dodged etc): this means all pet attacks must be on the move, pet’s speed must be at least +50%, and they need gap closer skills.
2) making the pet deal no damage but apply condition/CC/boons to the target, while the damage it should do is added to Ranger’s weapon DPS.
@Aeon I think you hit the nail on the head there, and at least no one else is going to try removing trinity without a proper replacement, thank god. I don’t think combat is ‘amazing’ though, more of just meh. I like actually using my brain and strategizing which is why I loved GW1.
I think you confuse combat with enemy depth.
It’s not our combat mechanics that are boring, it’s the AI.
GW1 required more tactics because:
- AI used proper teams (healer, rupter mesmer, condi necro, 2 warriors, ranger)
- AI had proper skillbars that would make sense for a player to use, sometimes even great builds with 10 skills, elites and all.
Therefore you needed to setup a good strategy to counter their builds and their comp.
GW2 lacks exactly that.
Mobs rarely have a proper “team”, it’s a miracle if they collaborate.
Mobs have 1-2 skills. Very rarely 3.
Mobs have no builds. They spam their 1-2 skills over and over.
Mobs have no team AI. They won’t try to act as a team and help each other.
Combat is great, AI is terrible.
Anet needs to stop making mobs use “mob skills” and give them proper builds like in GW1.
I expect a Warrior mob to come Bull+HB me.
A Guardian mob should give protection/aegis to the team, use bubbles and walls.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
I just tested this on dummies.
ZD actually takes 2s to cast. Ranged blocking lasts 1 more sec.
It hits for 6k (0 might).
Autoattack takes 3s, and for me it hits 1.5k, 1.5k, 3×1k = 6k total damage. (again 0 might)
So overall it is actually dealing more damage/DPS than the autoattack.
(I had 100% crit in all tests due to RHS / sigil / fury etc)
Btw Warriors can’t tank for more than a few second.
Warrior is all dodging, evading, moving and bursting. Forget staying power.
But yeah, you can escape fights easily.
I still have to figure a way to escape with a Guardian, but I believe there isn’t one.
I do see your point but I also tried to keep in mind the amount of dodges we have available compared to consistent damage we take. We can dodge a big or small blow 1 every 10 seconds after we burn our initial dodges or we can absorb more damage over time.
When you’ll get far enough in this game you’ll realize that this game revolves around avoiding damage rather than reducing it.
Even a Guardian with extreme damage reduction would need to roll a lot, the reason they don’t is Altruistic Healing, aka powerful sustain.
Your change would just impair us a lot, even if it gave 30% DR in return.
I think Anet failed in making health pools too much different (10k Ele to 18k Warrior) and then gave too much defensive tools to the 10k health guys who ended up having about 60k effective health on a glass build.
I just had a 1vs1 with a Guardian in WvW (on my Guard), I won in the end… but “in the end” was 10 minutes of fighting later.
And yet my total damage reduction was like 30% or less, my Warrior probably has more.
It sounds good at first, until you realize that damage mitigation in this game is better served with dodges, blocks, and invulnerabilities. Not % damage reduction. With this change you would make heavy armor less tanky and light armor more tanky.
Ah kitten you, you said exactly what I wanted to say.
I call you to court for stealing of intellectual property.
Thief is a pubstomper. It crushes newbies and uneducated people extra easy and instead of it being a learning process for other players they just dumb down everything.
Even Team Paradigm finds 15k dmg in 0.5s to be an uncounterable gimmick that needs to be changed, it’s a bit late for these attempts to blame it on l2p.
Thieves stop trying to make it seem that it’s all a l2p problem. You make our class look bad.
CnD perma restealthing is exploiting the lack of a feature that prevents it, next patch will be fixed, it’s useless to make these desperate attempts to get it passed as a l2p problem.
Learn to play the thief as it is meant to, instead of abusing holes in the mechanics to make up for your lack of skill.
Like you said we lack cover-conditions.
With some changes like Poison on third sword auto, Vuln on Savage Leap and weakness on Impale our conditions would be almost viable.
Almost, because condition builds rely on sustain, which we dont have.
Some bosses are badly designed in a way that force you to range them, though it’s not many of them that have this issue.
For instance most Warriors go full range on Imbued Shaman and Legendary Archdiviner but I melee them all the time.
Bosses like Mossman that hit you for half your health every second aren’t really meleeable instead, nor Captain with his insta-oneshot gimmick.
Thread Necromancy is a forbidden spell nowadays RedStar.
I agree that this game should be less dedication-dependant, I mean, if I can’t play for a month I’m short of 30 laurels.
But I totally disagree with GW2 needing to be a casual game.
I want esport PvP and hardmode PvE. This isn’t a game for 4 years olds.
Without challenge and skillbased-ness this game is doomed, it needs them.
So I’m all for giving casual a chance to get back on track with the laurels and other stuff, but I’m totally against turning GW2 into Hello Kitty Online.
I agree with the OP.
The problems caused by this are:
1) Not all stat combos are in, and probably will never be.
2) You need to buy a completely new set of gear just to change your stats, instead of modding the one you have.
I can live with this mess, it’s just inefficient for Anet to have to code 800 armors every time instead of coding mods one time and then make 1 armor.
I like Logan.
He made a mistake but admits it and is hurt by having done it, he apologizes and tries to remedy for it.
Usually people who make mistakes will say they are right at all costs or pretend it never happened.
He’s a much better person than Mr.Perfection Mary Sue Trahearne for sure.
The last thread like this was shut down with the BLTC Anet guy who said that no changes were done to ectos, and if the salvage rates were to be changed we would be let know about it.
Stop making a new conspiracy every time you don’t get ectos from a couple salvages, it’s called RNG.
I really like this idea alot. It reminds me a bit of a Vanguard Shaman where you would go down a line based on your pet. Aka if you aligned with bear you would have specific traits based on the bear or if you went with a caster type of pet you would be different etc.
Its quite a bit different obviously than shaman in vanguard but having the option to “allign” yourself with your pet would be amazing. I know a few other games who do similar and its a blast
Yeah, bonding with a pet would allow you to control all aspects instead of the AI, and would really make you feel like a half-bear, half-wolf etc.
It would give a more animalistic feeling to the Ranger, along with adding a ton of depth to a lackluster class.
love it, but it would probably take a lot to implement. Bears could grant stability too.
How (if at all) would you suggest this would change your appearance – e.g. would it be like norn elites or simply an aura like RaO, same question for when then using the pet’s skills – would your charachter maul with his half-bear hands after sheathing his bow? would your character do the same even if hes not half-bear? I think it would be ok to have a similar animation to GS 2/3 etc for using these
It might indeed take a while to code this, but Ranger in a such desperate need of depth and viability that it deserves this.
And animations like Maul shouldn’t be too hard to do, they are transparent and with a very basic texture.
Seems interesting, how would points in the BM tree alter this? Cast and/or CD? Or could you fuse w/ pet mid combat to save it and then split again?
I think the BM tree should be for beastmasters… those that use the pet for all their dmg.
But CD reductions could apply why not.
I believe GW2 created a new bundle of “must-haves”.
Unless new MMOs come up with the same and more, I doubt they’ll be getting anywhere.
GW2 might be lacking on endgame activities, class depth, WvW depth and sPvP modes, but the core of the game is solid, it just needs to be expanded.
In the while we play what we have… going back to those jokes that other MMOs are isn’t really an option after you’ve been spoiled by non-static, action combat.
Don’t mind reading ideas but why not consolidate them in one thread instead of making a new one every time? That’s literally 75% of the reason I’m even letting myself post in this one, to ask you to just make one thread on Warrior mitigation improvements.
^This.
Seriously make a megathread of what changes you want, don’t spam our forums with 12 new threads every day.
And no to all those unbalanced changes, except the stance CD reduction which is something we lack.
Max DPS that you’re gonna land on anyone in PvP/WvW is Axe/Mace. Unless you account for the Bullcharge > Quickness > 100b gimmick which is both easy to avoid, burns 2 utility skills at least, and requires quickness. And even then you only get more damage out of it if you land almost the entire thing.
Completely wrong.
1) 100b is easy to avoid only if it comes from a noob warrior that uses it up-front.
Good Warriors make the enemy waste all CDs/dodges before using it.
2) Damage of GS is better when you take into account mobility. Axe deals zero dmg to someone kiting you. Infact Axe/Mace has zero mobility.
Realize that all tPvP Warriors use GS/LB for a reason.
That change would simply kill the guardian as a class. Without boons we are nothing but a less mobile, less tanky, less damaging warrior.
Let’s be intellectually honest please.
Vs 2-3 boons (I assume Prot/Ret/Vig) it would be 10-15% dmg increase, not even remotely enough to kill the Guardian class.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
While Thieves are great for damage, so many people ignore their support capabilities.
Very true.
The problem is most thieves think they are WoW rogues and go full damage. Pity.
Magical math was done and it was discovered that the Hammer actually has more damage over an extended period of time due to the Symbol of Protection combo and the frequency of Mighty Blow. That’s not counting how great 5 second blast finishers and 50% Protection up-times are. The Greatsword is still better at spiking and Binding Blade is still one of the best CCs in the game, but as far as extended boss fights go it’s a choice between the Hammer and Sword rather than the Greatsword.
Refreshing to hear someone knows his stuff.
There are way too many GS Guardians around PvE with GS…. yet Hammer and Sword/Shield are infinitely better.
Guardian: AH Hammer/Staff or AH+RHS Sword+Shield/Staff
Warrior: GS/Banner (please stop using lolshouthealing)
Mesmer: Shatter with might stacking boon/time warp
Thief: Blindspam, Smoke Screen, S.Refuge and damage
Engi: Nades/Elixir gun
Ele: Staff Support/AoE
Necro: Powermancer/vuln
Ranger: Pfffhahahahaha
Fix’d.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
Not sure why of this obsession with BiS some people have.
Back in the days I played for at least 1-2 months with exotic weapon, yellow armor and green trinkets.
Now I upgraded everything to BiS but didn’t really notice a real difference in PvE or WvW.
It’s more of an obsession than a reality really.
+5-10% to all stats won’t make you win a fight that you would lose without.
This isn’t a stat-based game, most of the outcome is your skill, hardware and optimal keybinds.
I laugh at people who wear BiS but then backpedal, keyboard turn, wasd in melee, circle-attacks in a game with auto-facing, no gaming mouse, wireless connection…
I do own those people with 15k health left, if I was wearing greens I would have 10k left.
Boon hate was made for the sole purpose of countering D/D Eles.
A whole new mechanic just to counter a new spec, you guys should be happy.
I’d like to point out that Necromancers and Mesmers already have boon hate. That’s 25% of the professions already having anti-boon mechanics.
This sort of thing is necessary not because of Guardians but because of how broken the D/D/ Elementalist is.
Yup.
It’s pretty funny that they’re making a completely new mechanic just to counter D/D Eles instead of just nerfing them.
As someone who has put in 1000+ hours into a Warrior and around 300+ into Guardian: Don’t do yourself the disservice of choosing a Warrior over Guardian.
Guardians are better support/sustain for groups/self and are a better class overall in comparison to Warriors. Warriors only have high damage that will get them no where in high level FotM or in sPvP/tPvP. In fact, Warriors have no place outside of Hot join sPvP for a reason.
The Warrior class is crippled by most conditions (weakness/cripple/chilled/blind are the major ones).
Where as the Guardian profession is a NEEDED part of any tPvP set up. It is rare for a high level tPvP team to roll without a Guardian. In PvE 30+ FotM it is also rare for a group to roll without a Guardian.
Now with that said, I do enjoy my Warrior greatly even though they are sub-par as a profession in comparison to the others. If you are looking for a effective profession that is needed and has great ability to do whatever you want in the game… go with the Guardian. Warrior is fun to see big numbers, but outside of that they offer very little.
Please note: The Guardian is at a disadvantage when in a ranged fight. That is the only weakness they suffer as a profession. Specter is okay, but that will not compete with a Ranger shortbow/longbow.
Hope that helps.
I disagree with some points and agree with others.
Guardian indeed has better support, sustain, survival and staying power, and yes they are more required than any other class in high-end PvE (but that’s because Anet made Monk again, it’s unrelated to Warriors) but they fall way behind Warriors on damage, mobility, offensive support, spike, ranged and other things.
In PvE Warriors are most wanted due to our big DPS and Fury we give to the team which greatly increase team’s DPS.
Sure you could do frac 48 with 5 guardians and take forever, or 1 guardian 4 warriors and end it in 20 minutes.
Even 1 guard +4 random classes will take a lot if there is no Warrior.
In the end Guardian is needed for the 2-3 protection buttons. If other classes could stack protection we wouldn’t need a Guardian even in frac50.
In WvW we can jump into 10 people and down 3 in one second, haste-stake one and leap away unharmed – if you try this with a Guardian you might get one down but the other 9 are melting you into the ground and there is nothing you can do about it.
Commanders send Warriors to flank with HB to down a few people before they launch the assault, they don’t send a Guardian.
We also do well on walls and under walls.
In sPvP we suck because we don’t have a bunker build, but we roam decently.
We would roam pretty good if we were given more sustain.
We’ll see how we do when they add anti-bunker to us, pretty sure you bunker guardians will get melted by the new meta.
Warrior has a guaranteed slot everywhere but in sPvP (for now).
I have tried to force myself to like my Guardian for months but honestly not everyone is into supporting and I for one have more fun spiking stuff for bazillions in seconds while flying through the battlefield than hitting stuff with a stick for nothing and spam protection/shields.
I only login my Guardian when I get those fail PuGs and I need to carry them, that’s about it.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
What Warriors want:
More sustain, some condition removal…What devs think warriors Want:
More support and more damage!0/0/0/30/0 Might as well be the main for all warriors, since they need the condition removal from it for pvp and pve.
Warriors already got plenty of condi removal: Mending removes 2, SIO removes 1, SoS removes all conditions, Charge removes all movement conditions, Mobile Strike removes immob.
I never have issues with conditions, if I know my enemy has conditions SoS will just remove them all.
Maybe your issue is that you go 30 tactics (terrible for both frac40 and pvp) instead of getting Mobile Strike from Discipline.
At most I could ask for Mobile Strikes or dodging to remove Chill/Cripple but that’s about it.
Those are the only 2 conditions that a good Warrior should ever be worried about.
With the cooldown to food now, you do not need a high crit chance.
Basically figure out how many sources of damage you can pump out in 1 second consistently to see if you will get a crit out of one of them based on your current chance.
The problem is you pump out 1 attack per second on average, and if that doesn’t crit you don’t get the heal.
If there is a fury-pumping Warrior in the team you can do away with RHS pretty safely but 50% total crit chance will not heal all seconds. Check it.
Yours has 4400.
Nah, I just linked the wrong sigil/food in the builder.
With omnom pie and sigil of force it’s 4609.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
Sword symbol should give fury if anything. Sword is a pretty offensive weapon.
That’s a pretty good idea.
To be honest GW1 Prophecies wasn’t the great game you guys make it out to be.
1) GW1 PvE was terribly flawed because Anet let it become based on some gimmicks (55hp, SF) instead of building a proper team system.
Now, while GW2 endgame is still very dependant on having a Guardian who makes things 33% easier, it’s a big step forward from the cheese of GW1.
2) PvP in GW1 was all about finding out the new gimmick and abuse it till nerfed.
GW2 also has some gimmicks but they are all counterable with any class/build.
It was a lot of time before we got Furnace (in GW2 we got fractal instead), UW/FoW, hardmodes etc.
Overall GW2 is a major leap forward, though it needs to be said that while Anet fixed some of their mistakes from GW1, other mistakes are still there (Guardian-dependant PvE, gimmick builds in sPvP), and in some cases they are using the wrong solutions (babystep buff/nerf policy ending up with stagnation and lack of build variety, this new “boon hate” counter mechanics instead of fixing bunkers).
Apple never falls too far away from the tree afterall.
There should simply be some WvW-only skills (something like a “Shields up!” shout) that make you immune to AoE damage for 10s.
Any other change would damage PvE or sPvP or both.
WvW has an issue? Make a WvW-only fix. Anything else is flawed.
